The question is simple, the answer, not so much for some of us. The Sithies were at their worst a point of contention and at their best a way to celebrate the wonderful writing that happens on this site that we all love. So would you like to see them come back? Would you like to see something new in their place? Would you rather it stay a memory? If you'd like it to come back or want something new then do you have ideas? Let us know!

Honestly, I'm not sure this site has the traffic anymore to justify an awards ceremony of any kind. Since I've returned to JvS, I've seen the writer population cut by over half, with a lot of veterans having left the site for good, and not really all that many new people to replace them. We're a small enough site now that everyone pretty much knows everyone that writes here regularly, unless you're a newbie.
That being said, if there is still enough interest among those who are left, then I'd say yes. I think it's good to congratulate those who excel at making good stories, and especially those who improve, and make those people known on the site. Those who are awarded can then become well-renowned enough that newbies can turn to them for guidance and inclusion in future stories. Hopefully then, those people are nice enough people to give tips and pointers to those who are new, and to include them in their writing, so as to respectfully help shape the next generation of award-winning writers.
