*Kal watches the big Mando in black and green approach; a veteran-looking older warrior who clearly held some sort of official position. Kal suspected he would be as big one day - he was still growing after all - but not for a couple of years yet.*
*Kal nods appreciatively at the endorsement, then flushes slightly at mention of the pie-eating contest; he'd been SO close to winning! Damn Hutts.*
"Yes sir I will tell him. And good to meet you too. Thank you. Really."
*It's hard for Kal to hide his excitement; he'd got through the first step - now to find Kaine himself. Thyferra. Inner Rim if he recalled correctly; he hadn't actually been out of the system since he was a little kid, but his aunt had made sure he was well-versed in knowledge of the wider galaxy, and apparently Thyferra was not only the home of bacta, but had in decades past played a larger strategic and political role. He idly wondered for a moment what took Kaine there, other than the obvious of course.*
*Once Darzeka had left, Kal himself spins and strides back towards the exit, moving with the kind of haste born of youth and anticipation...then heads back over to the desk, and asks with just a touch of uncertainty showing*
"Ah...will he make a notation of my acceptance? I mean I'd hate to have any confusion later on..."
*The desk officer smiles.*
=Desk Officer= "We started a file on you the minute you entered the building, and the boss has already updated it. He's efficient like that."
*Kal smiles back and nods. Well that was easy; he wondered just how much information that file had... but who cares, he certainly had nothing to hide. Well...probably best if that whole thing about his parents didn't come up, but that wasn't his fault.*
"Thank you."
From MandalArms Kal heads straight for his bes'uliik, stopping only to use a restroom first; he preferred not to have to piss in a bottle mid flight if he didn't have to. Within forty minutes, he had received clearance for departure and was on his way out of atmosphere and into the stars...*

The group that walked into the Mandalarms lobby all matched in their colors. A uniform black undercoat with a few crimson flashing or trimming and their clan sigil on their right pauldron with their rank on the left pauldron in all crimson red. As they all took their buy'ce off, it might have surprised the man behind the service desk, that the Mandalorian bearing the rank of Alor'aan or Vice-Admiral was the youngest of the group. If it did, he didn't show it. The beautiful blonde woman with the rank Alor'aan displayed on her pauldron walked straight up to the desk to speak with him.
Jate tuur ner vod. I'm looking for translation software, and a droid.
The young woman would be directly dealing with him rather than having one of her lackeys do the talking and negotiating apparently.
Certainly Ma'am. What language do you need, and did you have a particular droid in mind?
I need a real-time translation setup for Shriiwook, with regional dialects if you have it. If you have any old BL's walking around, I would very much like to purchase one.
The Shriiwook translation setup was easy enough. The request for a BL droid took him a bit aback however. They didn't have many of those. They did HAVE some, but they were mostly working as guards at the moment. They had a small run of newer BL's which had come off the line so recently they hadn't found the time to advertise their existence yet. Did this girl know? No. probably not.
We should be able to accommodate that, but how did you know we had done a run of BL droids?
You have NEW BL droids? Aloriya's face lit up with excitement. I hadn't expected that. I had been expecting to have to buy an old dilapidated model. They are practically antiques now. I will happily take one of your new line.
So she hadn't known. Rather, He had told her. Perfect.
Well, I'll have the software fetched for you. He said as he punched in a few commands on the control board in front of him. And I'll have the BL droid activated and sent up here. If you would be so kind as to let us know how it performs? You will after all be the first to purchase one.
Aloriya paused for a second, a thought filling her mind. Was your run of BL's large enough to accommodate say 10 BL droids for purchase?
Ten? uhm. Yes. We can accommodate that.
Excellent. Let me transfer the credits.
Aloriya had gotten the translation software barely 5 minutes after transferring the credits, an R2 unit rolling up to her and beeping to get her attention. She looked down.
Hello there.
R2 :: Your translation software Miss. :: A disk ejected from under it's primary photoreceptor and radar eye.
Ah, thank you very much.
Barely half an hour later, after a few hurried comlink calls on the Desk Clerks part, and some slightly frustrated inventory finagling, The 10 BL droids were standing in formation as the eight mandalorians who had come in with Aloriya inspected them approvingly. Then they all headed out of the Mandalarms office and towards the Spaceport.

A secure comlink from the Wild Boar, docked at the MandalMotors yards in orbit links up with MandalArms down on Manda'yaim, in the city of Keldabe.
It had been a while since Kaine logged into MandalArms, and he was pleasantly surprised to see the company still functioning. He looked over a quick record of the current operations and was pleased to see things were still profitable. The company wasn't rolling in credits, but it wasn't haemorraging them either, which was just fine with Kaine. He didn't plan to interfere too much with the running of the business, apart from the odd personal project here and there. Such things were best left to the experts.
He called up his personal finances and was suddenly horrified. He had neglected to set limits on his children, and was shocked and dismayed as he scrolled down the long, long, list of purchases and acquisitions, all charged to his account, which was healthy enough, but not limitless.
What the kriff?
The 5 Australis children had taken a fair whack out of the balance. Amy by the grace of Kad had only bought several blades. That was the good news.
Vevut had bought an entire freighter, which was about what Kaine expected. Konig didn't seem to have purchased anything, but had managed to spend a hell of a lot of credits, which Kaine couldn't see he'd gotten any return on. That was nothing new with his secretive son. Reyn had bought himself a custom designed warship, which had been suitably astronomical in cost.
Kaine swore when he realised that purchase hadn't been the largest by some distance. Marit, sweet proper lady Marit, who never swore, raised her voice, and preferred discussion to combat, had bought herself an entire estate on the world of Commenor, title and all. Baroness Marit, as she styled herself, had then proceeded to lavish the estate, purchasing fine art, artifacts, and suitable staff and security. Kaine could have bought an entire planet for the combined costs.
He was slightly mollified to see that credits had begun to trickle in, mostly from Reyn's direction. He expected the others would contribute back to the clan what they had taken out in time, but Kad damn, he had also expected good sense. He had forgotten he was dealing with Australises.
Kaine logged a credit transfer into MandalArms, allowing the company to refit some of its holdings, pay for new locations, infrastructure, hire new staff, and look to build for the future.
Though his bank account now bore the scars of the pentuple raid on his personal treasury, Kaine had to admit to himself that the future looked very very bright for Kaine and Caz, for Clan Australis, and the Vegemite Jedi Enclave.

Wandering into a back workshop, Kaine entered a secure lab where he had some of MandalArms harried and overworked staff wasting their time on a frivolous personal project of his, as he often did.
The personal project was his very own Basilisk War Droid, he'd named Bo-Katan. Restoration of the vehicle and implementation of modern systems, including targeting, weapons, and power generation was a herculean task, but one Kaine had allowed the project a near unlimited supply of credits and infrastructure in order for it to bear fruit.
Kaine admired the near finished war droid as it sat in a construction cradle, partially powered, as technicians ran tests on the systems. MandalArms R&D chief, a man called Yomaget, was there to intercept Kaine before he interfered, steering him away from the workers.
Looks good. Kaine said by way of apology for the work schedule. Yomaget looked relieved. Kaine hadn't asked for any more additions or refinements.
Yomaget nodded in the direction of the project's almost complete work.
She'll be ready to go in a few days. Kaine nodded in approval. Excellent work. You'll all get a bonus. That was good.
And time off? Kaine laughed. No chance. There was still far too much work to be done.

MandalArms was a hive of activity following Kaine's directive to begin limited production of new lines of fightercraft and small capital ships, with an eye to supplying not only the Clan and the Mandalorian people as a whole, but in time, the Outer Rim as well. Steady growth was the goal, and moving to the next phase of expansion necessitated an increase in the facilities in Keldabe. New warehouses and construction docks were created, to allow for the vessels to take shape before being lifted into orbit.
Licensed and proprietary arms and armaments production was in full swing by now, through MandalArms contracts with vendors including Merr-Sonn, Baktoid Armor, Blastech and MandalMotors to name a few. They also produced their own variants of blaster weapons, though they continued to specialise in projectile weaponry, marketed as more effective against Force users and armoured enemies, while also doing MandalArms a repeat trade in ammunition.
Kaine had collected his war droid from Yomaget, and mercifully vacated the premises on it, to the R&D Chief's relief. Yomaget turned his efforts now to the production of fighters to fulfil the growing needs of the Clan's naval forces. MandalMotors had been very cooperative in designating some of their valuable production time to MandalArms' orders, allowing the new capital vessels coming out of the docks in orbit to be readily equipped with completed fightercraft.
Shipments of armour and armaments also went out regularly to the nearby Myrkr system, where Clan Australis had set up its main training facility. An army needed to be armed and trained, and MandalArms fulfilled half that need for the Clan.

A comm message comes in to the MandalArms HQ, and is routed to the security office.
::Allo, you lazy fuggers.:: A ribald besalisk voice said. ::Someone's causing trouble in Keldabe. Prepare two gunships for launch.::
A flurry of activity occured on one of the landing fields, where two gunships were prepared, and two squads of commandos were headed out to board. The alert was out, now to await the go-order from Command. Bors Australis was on overwatch, up on the Wild Boar in orbit. From there he could monitor every Clan asset on the planet below. Two squads of commandos was overkill, and Konig was in the city too.

MandalArms continued to be a hive of activity, as the company moved into its second phase of expansion and production for true.
Orders for commercial quantities of R7 astromechs as well as E-wing and K-wing craft had been filled, and the craft were ready for distribution to Vegemite Enclave and Clan Australis forces. Development continued apace on the Myrkr-class escort and the Kyr'am Ar'pat fightercraft which were nearing the end of their development cycle, and would soon go into full production.

MandalArms continued to be a hive of activity during the great Vegemite re-armament project. The company not only had to fulfil its own commercial production, but significant orders from MandalMotors as well as Clan Australis, most of which was procured offworld by MandalArms and then shipped to its clients without ever touching MandalArms property. Large orders of Vanguard-class gunships were placed with CEC, as well as orders of craft such as the TIE/vn, TIE Blur, and other craft produced by KDY and its subsidiaries.
For the more quantitave orders, such as blasters and armour sets, MandalArms acquired licences to produce facsimilies of the required equipment themselves, which was more economically sound than shipping thousands of weapons out to the Mandalore Sector. This allowed the company to produce arms models for vendors such as Baktoid Armor and Merrsonn and Blastech as well as smaller manufacturers, including the reclusive Colicoid Creation Nest.

Production at MandalArms was setting new records almost daily, as the company continued to expand its output. New production lines to produce licenced armaments, armour and ordnance had come online and were already beginning to bear fruit.
Licences for starfighters and capital ships took more time to acquire, but nevertheless, soon enough the company was able to produce even these more specialized designs in-house, preventing the need to order military goods from suppliers who might baulk as selling to Mandalorians.
MandalArms' ongoing partnership with MandalMotors was a continued asset, allowing the armaments corporation to continually produce spacecraft in orbit while it focused its own industrial output on weapons and arms. Both Clan Australis and the Vegemite Enclave began to recieve shipments of arms and armour, as well as vehicles for their garrisons as the massive military buildup continued.

Kaine had let MandalArms alone, somewhat mercifully in the opinion of those who actually worked there, for the past month or so. Prior to this visit, he had dumped a ton of work onto the company, producing not only licenced products from other companies, but expanding their own operations into starship construction, admittedly with MandalMotors holding their hand as the much smaller company began branching out.
The Australis Alor hadn't spent much time on Manda'yaim of late. He would have to change that, as he got older, his role among his own clan became more ceremonial and honourary and less operational. He could still fight and lead, but he wasn't the youngest fighter, or even anywhere near that. Experience and the tricks he had learned allowed him to keep up with the younger and more energetic of his vode, but the time was approaching where he wouldn't be able to sustain field operations. He hated that as much as he was resigned to it. Retirement was a dirty word in his little world.
To that end, Kaine meddled, looking in on projects and offering unwelcome and often unhelpful advice to beings who knew their jobs better than he. He was the boss, so no one minded too much, but they gave the smiles that said they'd rather be working than babysitting a VIP. He let them down easy, keeping his unannounced inspection short. He'd seen what he had come to see here. Next, he'd have to deal with those who didn't work for him, and that was a far more difficult and trying task.

Dral entered the main lobby of the business and was quickly escorted to a private office. Once inside, Dral opened an account for a fleet to be constructed. The first ship of which would be the first Bes'Bev out of MandalMotors shipyards. This he paid for up-front. The rest would be commissioned as the project ran it's course.

Details, details, details, the damned work never ended, or so it seemed, to Kaine. He'd finally managed to escape Myrkr, but only to be plunged into unfinished work in the Mandalore system. MandalArms largely ran itself, but his oversight on several quiet projects necessitated he actually be present. The travel had gotten more comfortable over the years, which suited Kaine just fine, now living on the life path past the milestone marked '60'. Marit had recently delivered herself of healthy twins on Commenor, and so he was a grandfather too, which also suited him just fine.
He had been pleased to see plenty of Australis black and green among the Mando'ade in Keldabe, it made him proud that the clan he had founded himself with a handful of others many decades ago, on Kiffu, had endured. Many, it seemed, had prospered too, and that likewise gave him cause for pride. Plenty of decent folks had found a way to a better life for their families because of him. Sometimes he thought that might almost balance out the oceans of blood, but he didn't think too much about that. Among other things, the Vong war had cured him of any weakness when it came to battle.
Heading into the mercantile sector, Kaine went inside an unmarked warehouse, leased from one of the local proprietors. Not all the projects were carried out inhouse, and this one MandalArms kept very quiet indeed. Corporate espionage was a major concern, as always, but lately politics had reared its ugly head. Kaine had two teams shadowing him that could take care of any observers, and they were all handpicked. They kept darker secrets than this one warehouse for their Alor. Outside, there were no guards, that would just advertise there was something inside worth guarding. Inside the warehouse, Yomaget and a minor settlement's worth of scientists had turned the interior into a state of the art laboratory. This section housed three separate projects, all personal to the Australis Alor.
Kaine came in alone and removed his helmet. Heads turned, and he halted at a yellow line on the floor until a tone sounded. Security was as tight as it got. The wrong tone would be the last thing anyone heard. Kaine smiled at the correct tone. Yomaget frowned.
Damn.
The old mando scientist said as Kaine approached, still grinning. Kaine finally dropped the silly grin and nodded. Yep, no rest for the wicked. Let's see her.
Yomaget's message had been short, and sweet. Project E completed. Y. Kaine had been waiting a long time, and finally the work had been done. He'd come as soon as he was able. The old mando led him to a table where a foil covered an object a few feet long. He went to lift the foil but Kaine beat him to it, lifting the cover off to unveil a vision of beauty, at least to Kaine's eyes. To Yomaget it was just another job in a long list of shabla projects Kaine bullied, pestered or guilted him into producing. He'd worked for the Australis Alor for decades, because he paid well, and though he was a pain in the shebs, Yomaget got to bring his dreams to life. Finally, Kaine found words. He'd chosen the name a while back.
Erymanthian.
A rifle. His rifle.

MandalArms had been supplying the citizens of Keldabe and the rest of Mandalore, not to mention half the Sector, with arms and armaments for several decades, coming to eventually design and produce everything from ammunition to capital ships.
Just beyond the sales desk at the front was a workshop that connected to the main warehouse, generally used for finishing work and minor repairs, it was also used by Kaine and others as a personal workshop at need. Clan Australis remained majority shareholders, and so its members pretty much had free run of the place. Reyn sat in the workshop, busy with the forge.
He was working on a gift for his sister, Amaranth, and he wanted it to be perfect. Having grown up poor and orphaned, Amy didn't like fancy gear, much preferring her blades and little to no technology to get by. She was a hunter, though, and Reyn hoped she appreciated the weapon he was restoring and modifying for her. He'd acquired a Sith Lanvarok, and had taken the time to break it down and rebuild it as a Mandalorian weapon.
The wrist mounted disc launcher was enhanced with beskar, and rebuilt to fit Amaranth's arm. The projectiles were also beskar, coated in a Mandalorian Xenotox, making them especially deadly. The polearm was now a telescoping double bladed beskar weapon that could extend to a double-blade polearm from a two-sided dagger. Very little of the original artifact remained, though its purpose had been kept, a deadly method of indiscriminate death.
Reyn himself carried a full set of custom gear, from his beskar'gam and kama, his twin beskar swords, his two custom made pistols, as well as his various explosives, and the usual Bounty Hunter's kit of whipcord, jet boots, tracking gear, and stun-cuffs. He, like his brothers and especially their father, were typically Mandalorian in their obsession with fancy kit. Marit was the least warlike, and Amaranth had the simplest tastes. Reyn hoped she'd make an exception for this gift.

Amy had made her way across town from Oyu'baat after a short while, and found her way into the MandalArms complex. Past the front desk, she entered the workshop and found her older brother grinning like a Loth Cat. Sitting before him on the table was clearly the object of her invitation here. Reyn didn't speak as she walked over to admire the gift.
Amaranth was speechless for a long time as she admired the double-bladed dagger and launcher assembly. She recognized the design as based on the ubiquitous ancient Sith weapon called a Lanvarok, but she could see Reyn had put a lot of effort into customizing this one for her. He didn't speak, not even when she looked up from her prize to ask a question. "Is this..?" Reyn just nodded solemnly. Her very own Mandalorian Lanvarok. Yes, a worthy weapon, she could get good use from this.
"I had to guess your dress size." Reyn said, usually more cheek than she would take from anyone, even her brothers, but Reyn was in her good books just now with the splendid gift he'd created for her. She shot him a warning glare anyway, and he retreated a pace, palms up in surrender. Her eyes went back to the equipment, and she easily slipped the launcher assembly over her left arm, taking the doubleblade in her right, nodding appreciatively as she depressed the button and the telescoping arms shot out to both sides, extending the polearm.
Testing the weight, she shifted into a combat crouch effortlessly, before spinning the blades in a series of forms as natural to her as breathing, the spinning blades whirling around. She liked the balance, and the weight felt very natural. Combined with the disc launcher, she now possessed an excellent killing weapon, fancier than she usually liked, but sturdy and reliable, and hers. Though she'd never admit it, it was one of the only gifts anyone had ever given her, and it touched her heart. Reyn seemed to understand, because he was behaving unusually seriously. He had far too much of their father in him for Amy's liking, but he was a good shabuir too. She gave him a smile. "Thanks, ad'ika."

MandalArms was a busy place, even on the less busy days. Over the years it had grown from a workshop and importer to a producer of arms and armaments supplying half the sector. The facilities had grown along with the profits, and now the company's complex was quite expansive, with production and administration as well as the state of the art R&D facility all onsite in Keldabe. Ensconced in his private office, Yomaget, head of R&D, was enjoying a caf when his holocomm beeped, interrupting him. He grumbled, and then swore when he saw it was the Alor. Putting the caf down reluctantly, the old Mando clicked the holocomm active, and a hand sized hologram of Kaine's helmeted head appeared above the desk. "Alor." Said Yomaget, noncommitally. It might not be bad news, after all. Kaine nodded back. "Just checking in." Yomaget visibly relaxed. It wasn't going to be one of 'those' times, when an inebriated Kaine made ridiculous requests and would not be put off by logic and reason. For today, the old scientist had some good news for the old warrior. "All is well. The Dungeon-Class is in production, and we're finalizing the War Pig and the Hodasal-Class. They should be in production by the end of this month." Kaine nodded his helmeted head on the holo slowly in satisfaction. "I've got plenty of use for them. Good work, ner vod. I'll leave you to it." Yomaget's thanks was genuine, and he ended the call with great relief. Maybe the old chakaar was getting tired in his old age, Yomaget wondered as he turned back to his caf, which was still nice and hot. Kaine had made a career of driving Yomaget and the other scientists to insanity with his queries, memos and personal requests, to say nothing of his constant appropriation of company assets and company property. These days, he left them to their work in peace, and even remembered to thank them. Without a war to energize him, the old boar seemed to have gotten a little soft, Yomaget decided, he could live with that.

MandalArms was always a busy place, with orders coming in not just from locals, but from across the sector and even from the wider galaxy. Since licencing many well known manufacturers, the Mandalorians were able to produce quality at a competitive rate, and that attracted many customers, and lots of good economic benefits to Manda'yaim.
Out in the fighter manufacturing section, a special rush order on over four hundred craft was nearing completion. 10 Squadrons of Claymore-Class Assault Fighters, 8 Squadrons of Javelin-Class Interceptors, 12 Squadrons of 2 Seated, heavy armed Bes'uliik'e, and 4 Squadrons of K Wing Star Fighters was a hell of a production run. This one was subject to bonus incentives for the work crews, which made everyone happy and motivated.
The Bes'uliik'e were specifically authorized by Kaine himself to be produced to Mandalorian standards, not the slightly nerfed spec that was usually sold to aruetiise. They were two-seated like the trainer variant, but upgunned and uparmored with the most powerful engines and powerplant like the Mando-spec craft, giving them the best of both worlds. Twelve full squadrons of the craft sat ready to go, while the remainder of the order was filled. They would all then be shuttled to orbit to meet up with the rest of the order which Kaine had personally stamped as most urgent. The vessels were all part of a consignment Kaine was preparing for Lord Nexus.

Extensive works continued at MandalArms to not only continue the company's regular output for its commercial and retail sales, but to provide the necessary infrastructure and logistical support for the Byss operation. Though most of the workers and company officers knew only that they were dealing with a larger than usual workload, they were being paid bonuses, and knew not to ask questions.
Heavy artillery and large battle automata came out of the factories to be loaded onto transports. Alongside these came ranks of armoured vehicles, war droids, and speeders, as well as a wealth of ammunition and explosives. Even the energy cells for everything from glowrods to artillery pieces were manufactured on site and distributed to where they were needed. With excellent supply lines, and a ready infrastructure, as well as inside access to the galactic arms markets, MandalArms was well capable of building nearly anything that was required of it.
Anything save for the largest constructions such as starships, which were built in orbit, could be and was produced in Keldabe. The company had works and complexes on other worlds, most notably Myrkr, but Keldabe was the headquarters of the company, and where most of its resources were concentrated.

Several bulk freighters had discharged their cargo holds via transport and shuttle and lifter into MandalArms' gaping maw of a facility in Keldabe. So much gear had been ordered in that it took multiple hauler ships to bring it all in, and it would all need to be distributed to the units that required it. They could make most things onworld, but for what they could not, they had to order it in, and the comm lines had been running hot to many of the galaxy's manufacturers, bringing trade to Mandalore.
MandalArms' own local manufactories were hard at work preparing to produce the latest designs coming out of the R&D department, though delays there had been a welcome breather for the manufactorum staff. While the factories retooled and re-equipped, the cargo handlers worked triple shifts, supervised by a small army of logistics officers. It was organized mayhem with a hive of activity, everyone working all over the place, ships coming and going, cargo moving out.
Most of the outgoing cargo was scheduled for the fleet in orbit of Concordia, Mandalore's moon, where Kaine's task force was mustering. There was still some time before the expedition to the Deep Core was due to set out, but with so much preparation work required to outfit the army and fleet, the time was not to be wasted.
