Hey everyone! Loki here! Some of you know me, some of you might not, but I've been writing on JvS since its inception (with a few breaks here and there but hey real life!) Now that being said. THIS thread is open to all ideas separate from the awards ceremony/ OOC event ideas.
So one of the big ideas I've seen floating around is a temporary revert to the Wild Wild West RPGing we had in 1.0. for our newer writers, in 1.0, many of us (In fact I was one of the most notorious PGers in JvS history.) went over the top, with massive fleets, powers, abilities and more. We were all godlike and while it could get tiresome it made for some crazy insane stories. Many of us grew with the site and our writing and abilities changed. We grew up as the site grew up. But it still might be cool to go totally ham, bring back dead characters that where killed off or written down or whatever for a week or two.
Another idea one I personally have.
Is a duel between all surviving 1.0 characters, full 1.0 mode full throttle battle royale to the death. (Writers that were here for 1.0 could bring back a character of their choosing for this.) And 1.5 and newer writers could be spectators. Set it up in a Hunger Game's fashion.
We could also do the same for characters and writers that joined in 1.5 and then even 2.0 (Three battle royales)
Those are just a few of the ideas I have swirling in my head!
The other one is a MASSIVE site wide fleet/Ground battle hybrid over something or a plot point for the FO/GA plot idk I'm spit balling but you get the idea.
So post below and lets get the creative juices flowing!

I know on idea I saw about the 1.0 revert would be a contained to the JoTW type situation, just so that it didn't affect everyone's RP. But I would be up for bringing Darth Jones back for a victory tour of sorts, but with decent writing and character this time  |

Couple of ideas on this;
Have the 1.0-style RP restricted to one or two or a limited number of worlds that can opt-in. Then theres no interference, and planets can opt-out.
From the roast idea; what about bringing back imitations of characters from players from the past, some of whom are long gone? I myself can think of a dozen that would get some laughs.
Obviously im against excluding 1.5 players from the fun, as I am one, and never got to participate in the 1.0 shenanigans, and speaking for myself, I always wanted a taste of the silliness!!! 
As for a RP storyline starting point, someone starts off by doing some outlandish PG stuff in one of the 1.0-approved locations, like rifting everywhere, and spawning in superweapons, and word gets around, and there's dead SILENCE from the Whills. Then someone else discovers, they can PG. And it goes crazy from there....
It could end with the Whills themselves taking a hand, with the final battle being between the incorrigible PG/GMers and the Whills, who have to save the galaxy and put the 1.0 demons down for good!

1.0 writer here. . . we're old. I remember writing my character to the level that was appropriate to where my character was on the associated app. Then when my character leveled up, so would character on the boards. Massive battles in orbit that were muddled in on the same boards as ground duels-- those days were a mess!

Okay another idea I was thinking of.
A testimonial thread.
It would get its on board on the home page (In the bottom section with the games and what not.)
Where we could all write how JvS has changed, changed us, grown, how we feel about it, and what not, not just for our fellow writers but other writers as well to see how amazing and wonderful this site has been and can be for them too.

I LOVE this. The testimonial idea. lol! 1.0 was a total Cluster*&&^. But a lot of fun man. For the duels and what have you, I would resurrect He Who Kicks All The Ass.....

Glad you like the ideas. And yeah it was a cluster fuck, but it birthed what we have today and it's almost like a country, how wild and crazy America and other lands where in their infancy. And I love that MOST of us have fond memories of 1.0
But I think the testimonial page would just be really fun and unique to see what everyone says.

Further idea just to expand things a bit. Those categories that have been suggested so far are great. What about expanding it by having each era have its own set of awards; giving us 4 times as many awards to make;
1.0 (FB pre June 30th, 2008)
1.5 (July 1, 2008-2013ish)
2.0 (2013ish-present)
All-Time (all eras)
That way people have more chances to be eligible, and theres no issue with the old timers overshadowing the new timers and vice versa.
I know its a lot more scope, but this is the 10 year awards. Let's go for broke.

October's almost over but that doesn't mean it's too late to plan things here! I've read through this and I like the ideas of having Testimonials as well as one big 1.0-style RP. For the Testimonials, I'm thinking maybe not a whole forum for it, but a single thread everyone can reply to and browse? I love the idea but I do think we already have a lot of forums on the main index. For the 1.0-style RP... Instead of picking a location or two... why not an entirely new location just for the event? I'll talk this over but I want to see what you guys think. Just make a new planet just for the RP and, when all the fun's done, archive it! It would have all the places needed, such as orbit and terrain, maybe a city and space station... I know 1.0 planets were just a single thread but that doesn't mean we can't have multiple threads just while using a 1.0 mindset! I even have a name idea... "Faysbuhk."  Let me know what you guys think! |
