Lost newbie

If the whole "legends" and "era" thing is confusing then just follow the idea that darth vader, luke, boba fett are in the past somewhere. Usually works best if you never met them, but a few people have characters that refer to them. Just write as if your story exists in the same universe, with the same species and worlds and magical force powers, but you are carving out your own path. Once you've found your place to write you'll find that you'll fit in to the time line easily enough. I have never had a clue when I've been set in the grand scheme of things, somehow it just works out because it's character interactions that shape the story.

But that said, display names are entirely up to you. You will find most people here set their character name there, just as a quick reference for others.

As a traitor, your good check ins would be Geonosis for the GCOR, Corellia for the Five Worlds Council, Fondor for the Tapani Empire, The Draykon Crew (wherever they are right now). Those would be good safe havens to relax.
Otherwise, most of the Imperial Sector is First Order held. There is a nice map over in the Galactic Civil War thread (which needs some slight updates) you could use for reference as to which places you’d want to raid for being First Order controlled.

So far too, the major factions save for the Corellian Alliance and Tapani Empire have threads you can browse on this subforum. The forums are listed as planets but not categorized by faction ownership. That's why this map was made, first by Admy, then I took it over by a full coup lol.

I apologise for the confusion. Locations are indeed based on planets, but like countries in the real world, different governments have control/influence over different planets.

For example, the Republic had influence of different planets to the Seperatists in Episodes I-III. Just like the First Order has/had influence of certain Outer Rim/Unknown Space Worlds compared to what the New Republic did in Episodes VII-VIII.
A similar concept applies here. Certain planets are influenced by different factions.

The GCOR is the Grand Confederacy of the Outer Rim. It’s a reborn faction of the CIS. In that they both use massive droid armies.

Looks like you are going the merc route. I have one more character I have never really used. A Mandalorian. If you want we can meet up on a planet of your choosing and we can do something together. Im never very good at planning things out but we could be hired out to hit a First Order target.
