I sat, lounging upon the Sith'ari's throne. With my elevation to Empress of the Blackguard Imperium, I had all the power and prestige I needed to ensure I was able to remain unquestioned and unopposed. So far, my king and emperor continued to serve his own interests, which now included my interests. But the power he had harnessed was eating away at him more and more with each passing day. And that concerned me. If he fell, then my position might be jeopardized. I, by no means, possessed the sheer strength that he did. I couldn't contend with anyone making a claim against my position unless I turned around and made strong allies with those places among various positions within the Imperium. But who...? That was the question. For now, however, I was content to lounge upon his throne and reap the benefits my position allowed.

Upon entering the Throne Room, expecting to be greeted by the visage of a lazily lounging Zabrak, to his surprise, a pale human looking female was seated upon the throne in the Sith'ari's stead. Despite his confusion, he and Geralt strode up to the base of the throne. As the Sith Knight dropped to his knee and bowed his head, Venom shot a glance up at the woman.
"And who might you be? Obviously you are no intruder or assassin, yet you seat yourself upon the throne of our Sith'ari..."
While not normally one to question authority or speak out against who was in charge, Venom also didn't believe in blind obedience. And unless this woman was the reincarnation of the Dark Side in the flesh, he would not bend a knee, regardless of how Geralt chose to acknowledge the woman.

Seated upon the Throne, the doors parting open and two men entering broke me out of my reverie. I recognized both the Zabrak and the human from the briefings that Viox had given me, weeks prior. The human was Geralt Klassen, Knight-Commander of the Sith Knights. And, as his station suggested, he knelt down and bowed his head, indicating respect towards me. Unsurprising, given he was Viox's pet project. But also a little satisfying. The Zabrak was Venom Starkiller, otherwise known as Darth Wraak, of Clan Starkiller. Formerly a rival warring tribe on Iridonia, he and his brother now served the Imperium loyally and had received some wealth and prestige from their work. A perplexed smile crossed my lips as the Zabrak questioned me. Oh, this was going to be fun, I thought to my self. Rising to my feet, I slowly, yet purposefully stepped down the steps towards them both, without breaking eye contact with the Zabrak. There was a fiery defiance to Venom. I liked that. I could work with it. "I am Natalia Zave-...Savage." I caught myself. The new surname was still something I was getting used to. Before Venom could make any sort of remark, I continued. "Empress of the Blackguard and wife to Viox Savage." I added with a sly grin. Now it was time to see just exactly how he'd respond. Either this was going to be really fun, or really boring. Still, I kept my eyes locked with his, unflinching and unwilling to look away.

As her name reached his ears, Venom scowled.
So the rumors were true? Larissa had proven herself unworthy of retaining her title as Empress and had been dealt with. Surprising, given all that Viox and Larissa had been through and how long they had been together. But, if that were the case, obviously this woman had proven her worth to Viox. Especially if he had made her both the Empress of the Imperium and his wife.
Rather than question her claim, Venom clenched his jaw and knelt down to one knee, finally breaking eye contact with her and bowing his head respectfully, if not somewhat begrudgingly.
"I...apologize, Empress. I had heard rumors, though I was not told of this new...development..."
While he did apologize and did the respectful thing, not inciting the wrath of his former master and Sith'ari, he still clenched his jaw and had to force the words out. It's not that he disliked her, she hadn't given him a reason to dislike her. It was the fact that this was so suddenly sprung on him. He didn't like being blindsided. Regardless, he would do his duty. He had pledged Clan Starkiller into the service of the Sith'ari. And if she spoke for him in his absence, then he'd show her the same respect he'd show his Sith'ari. But it didn't mean he had to like it.

The look on Starkiller's face upon hearing my name was rather satisfying. That's right, you went from puffing out your chest to deflating back to servant in the span of a few moments, I thought. Such a wonderful feeling. As he knelt down and bowed his head, I grinned in satisfaction, more so when the words he spoke sounded so utterly forced. Oh, this was going to be fun. Turning on my heel, I strode back up the steps, spun around and seated myself on the edge of the throne, crossing my legs. "You were not told for a number of reasons, none of which bear any importance on why you are here." I eyed up the Zabrak for a few moments longer. His lingering thoughts of dislike and annoyance were bringing me great joy, however, with my Viox away, speaking to his Jen'ari, he tasked me with sending Venom and the Sith Knights on to their next tasks. Though the lingering question remained. Where was the Sith'ari? Rather than listen to the Zabrak whine about not dealing with Viox, I decided to answer the question before it was spoken. "And before you ask, the Sith'ari is away, speaking to Jen'ari Znalost. Though he did explain to me your assignment and what he had planned for you next. So relax. Despite being new, I do know what I am doing." I allowed those words to linger for a moment or two, letting the Zabrak hear them moreso than the human. Klassen and his Knights were devoutly loyal to the Sith'ari, and now, their Empress. Viox had explained that much to me. My own personal Sith kiddies to command. I'm sure I could find some use for them after they carried out their task. But, I was getting ahead of myself. "Lord Wraak. Given your record and accomplishments since joining, I trust you have a mission report for me?" As much as I wanted to toy with him, he was one of Viox's minions, and an effective one at that. Loyalty and efficiency we in short supply these days. And if Viox was going to accomplish what he intended to, then he needed all hands on deck.

Well, it certainly became obvious, at least to Venom, why the Sith'ari had chosen this woman as his Empress. Her direct, yet eloquently blunt approach to handling things was matched only by her insultingly polite demeanor. Larissa had acted as though she was the smartest person in the room and habitually belittled everyone, save for Viox himself, where as Natalia didn't act smarter than anyone else, at least thus far. She was in a protected position of power and she knew it. Arrogance wasn't a very attractive quality, even among the Sith, but something told him that Natalia could back that up if push came to shove. And while she appeared human, Venom had the distinct feeling that there was more to her than met the eye. There was a very dangerous vibe in the cold, yet confident manner she conducted herself. And her eyes. There was something unnaturally aggressive about her gaze. Almost like a predator, stalking its prey...it was unnerving. Or it might have been to anyone else aside from him. Venom wasn't easily intimidated, but he felt as though she might be able to.
And then they were back on track. Clearing his throat and raising his head, he looked up at the Empress seated upon the edge of the throne.
"The raid against Vallius's stronghold within Fortress Inquisitorius on the moon of Nur was a success. A dozen prisoners have been captured and Knight-Commander-..."
The sudden banging of the doors behind him, interrupted what he was saying. Two red armored Sith Troopers entered the room, dragging a Zabrak prisoner between them. Obviously this wasn't routine, as the five crimson armored Praetorian Shadowtroopers situated around the room stepped forward, weapons at the ready. Venom's hand moved to his saber hilt on his belt as he prepared to act...

Obedience. At least Starkiller has some sense in that horned head of his. While he didn't seem particularly intimidated by me, he definitely was more on guard than he had been when he entered the room. And then the news rang in my ears. Vallius Savage, the petulant, spoiled, ungrateful little whelp of a son, or in my case step-son, had finally lost his domain. Though I already knew it was a success, as I had ensured I was notified of the arrival of the prisoners, which should be; BAM! The doors banged open. Ah, yes, right on time. A deviant smile split my lips as I rose from my seat. Striding down the steps, I raised my left hand and called out to the Praetorian Shadowtroopers. "Colonel, stand down!" As the five guards stepped back and lowered their weapons, I strode past Starkiller and the Knight-Commander. Upon reaching the Zabrak prisoner, I wrapped my left hand around his chin and cheeks, squeezing slightly. "You were a part of the defiant rabble that dared stand against the Sith'ari! You threatened the integrity of this great nation and you sullied the Savage clan name! Oh, you poor soul. I do not envy you in the least..." The brief spat of anger that had surged through me subsided and I sent out calming thoughts to the terrified prisoner. Lowering my voice, I spoke softly to him. "You want to make it right, yes? You want to redeem yourself in the eyes of the Sith'ari? You will not resist...not for long..." I trailed off with a benevolent grin. Moving in closer to the young man's face, who was now clearly entranced with me, I paused a few inches away from his face, looking into his eyes. The two proboscies uncoiled from their pouches in my cheeks and extended towards the Zabrak. Slowly, they crept their way up to the Zabrak's nose and then, they slid up his nostrils. A very brief look of horror crossed the Zabrak's face and there was a slight jerk as he tried to resist, however it was far too late for that. And then it began. The Zabrak's life essence, his "soup" as it was called by my people, began to feed me. Nourish my craving. Having learned long ago not to rush this process, I stood close to the man and continued to hold his head as his life essence was slowly, yet steadily sapped away. In the span of several minutes, the man's eyes began to roll back into his head and the color in his cheeks had faded away. Retracting my probocies and coiling them neatly in the pouched on my cheeks, I released the Zabrak, which crumpled to the obsidian floor and waved him away dismissively. If the two troopers that had brought him in were hesitant, I didn't see it, as I had finally turned my attentions back to Venom and Geralt. Striding confidently up the steps and seating myself upon the throne, sliding all the way back, I motioned to Venom. "I apologize for that. Please, continue." A small smirk crossed my face as I waited for him to regain his train of thought.

The scene played out slowly. But even still, that did not make it any less unsettling. Though it did reveal what Natalia was. An Anzat. A life force vampire. Feeding off the life force of others, with a particular fondness for Force Sensitives. And it did explain a bit more about Viox's choice in Empress. A natural predator and hunter. Anything that successfully managed to hunt sentient beings over the course of a one thousand year lifespan warranted caution. And after the Empress's display, feeding off of a helpless prisoner in front of them, it had served to make her point. Even more wary of the woman now, he did respect her significantly more than he did several minutes ago.
"I..um..as I was saying. A dozen prisoners were captured and Knight-Commander Klassen was able to download and secure all information onto these holo-dics..."
Venom rose to his feet and procured the three holo-discs Geralt had retrieved from Vallius's lair on Nur. Any and all valuable information that had resided within Fortress Inquisitorius was now contained upon those three holo-discs.

Geralt remained kneeling before the throne, even as Lord Wraak continued to question the Empress and remain on guard around her. While understandable, it was ultimately useless to question the motives of the Sith'ari or the Empress. The Sith'ari had made it perfectly clear that Empress Zavesti was in charge in his absence, and that his will would be carried out through her. He trusted the Sith'ari and his methods. And so, he and his Knights would trust her as well.

As the Zabrak Sith procured the holo-discs that they had acquired from their raid of Vallius' former stronghold. Reaching out through the Force, I lifted the index and middle finger on my left hand that was currently resting on the armrest of the obsidian throne. The discs were gently plucked from Venom's gloved hand, and proceeded to levitate through the air up towards the armrest. "Excellent work, Lord Wraak. The Sith'ari was correct in selecting you to lead the strike against his former son. And you have done enough to impress me, somewhat." Pausing for a moment, to allow those words to sink in, I continued speaking. "While you boast an impressive service record and your loyalty is unquestioningly devout, I personally need to see your capabilities. Which will lead us to your next assignment..." "I trailed off, and motioned towards the holoprojector behind the two men standing at the foot of the throne. The projector lowered from the ceiling and began displaying a familiar world and various information about it. "While the Sith'ari had an assignment in mind for you, Lord Wraak, I have decided to table that task for the time being...though I am fairly certain you are quite familiar with this world..." I allowed the Sith Lord and Knight-Commander a moment to turn around and quickly review the information being displayed. Geralt would remain silent until given orders, though Venom would most likely have a few questions. Having just fed, I was in a sharing mood, therefore I would allow Venom to ask his questions and indulge him with answers.

Unsurprised by the Empress telekinetically plucking the holo-discs from his hand, he merely waited until she began to speak once more. Her doubt in his abilities, while mildly insulting, made logical sense. A datapad with files detailing one's loyalty and experience was entirely different than seeing it first hand. Turning around as the Empress motioned to the holo-projector, a surprised look came across his face as he read the holographic image. Without turning back to face the Empress, he spoke.
"Iridonia...? I thought that was annexed from the Blackguard and currently functioning independently...?
Last he had heard, Iridonia had been annexed from the Blackguard due to Vallius' little coup. Off limits to the Blackguard until further notice. Obviously this wasn't something Viox was privy to. His original assignment for him was being put aside in favor of a new one from the Empress herself. Where was she going with this assignment, he wondered. Despite his nagging curiosity, the details would be revealed soon enough.

Oh, this Zabrak was a much quicker wit than I had originally given him credit for. Impressive. Rising from my seat, I stowed the holo-discs that were on the armrest into a compartment for later retrieval. Striding down the three steps, I made my way over to the hologram and the towering Zabrak. Running my hand across his shoulder, I grinned and replied to his question. "My, you are an astute one, aren't you? Iridonia was annexed from the rest of the Blackguard in spite of Vallius, not because of." I approached the hologram and swiped several of the images. Then I enlarged an image of the Dark Diamond Palace. "The Dark Diamond Palace. That is your target. But we aren't going to be subtle about it. The city of Malidris. We're going to occupy it and drive those loyal to the insolent child out. Send a message to all of those who would defy the Imperium. We do not sit idly by while those foolish enough deign to thumb their noses at us. Lord Wraak. Knight-Commander Klassen. Assemble your forces. Malidris falls today." I said the words, fervently. The brazen defiance of Vallius had gone unpunished long enough. Either the Sith'ari couldn't or wouldn't move against his own son. But that wasn't an issue here. Vallius would pay. And so would those loyal to him. Though all of this was mostly a cover. Payback was a good way to motivate the troops, while Malidris was secured for the Sith'ari's ulterior motives. And none would be the wiser.

Venom listened as the Empress gave her orders. So this was Natalia proving she had the chops to be Viox's second? Strike at his son on Iridonia and occupy Malidris? Normally it would have taken a bit more convincing to get him to commit forces to such a move, even if the orders came from the Empress, but the chance to strike at Vallius, the insolent little bastard that decided to take matters into his own hands and spark a civil war on Iridonia and Anobis? This was too much of an opportunity to pass by. For whatever his reasons may have been, the Sith'ari had taken the high road and had not struck back against Vallius or Malvus. Both of whom deserved a healthy dose of revenge for moving against the Imperium or simply deserting their posts like the cowards they were. Bowing his head respectfully, he replied to the Empress.
"I will gather my forces and the Sith Knights and we shall rain down destruction upon those who would oppose us."
The Zabrak motioned for Knight-Commander Klassen to follow him out of the throne room. They had work to do. And they needed to move quickly in order to maintain the element of surprise.

Iridonia. Formerly the dual capital of the Blackguard Reborn, then the Blackguard Imperium. Consumed by civil war at the hands of Vallius Savage, the Blackguard had ceded its hold on the world for the time being. Though the time had come for retribution against those that had attempted to stand up against the will of the Blackguard. And Lord Wraak was being selected to spearhead this siege of the city of Malidris? The Knight-Commander found it rather suiting that the man who sacked Vallius' fortress was to be the one to strike at the heart of his insurrection. Rising to his feet and following the Sith Lord out of the throne room, the Knight-Commander signaled the rest of the Sith Knights via his wrist datapad. Soon, they would be above the Zabrak homeworld. Soon the Blackguard would reclaim Iridonia.

I grinned as the Zabrak Sith Lord and the Knight-Commander left the throne room. As I turned to ascend the throne, a larger-than-life image of the Sith'ari appeared before me. Inclining my head respectfully, I addressed him. "My liege. It brings me great pleasure to inform you that your machinations are being executed as we speak. Your son's blasphemy will be punished and Iridonia will be our again." Despite the position of power I had been elevated to, Viox still maintained a significant amount of power. His foresight and his prowess in the Force were still considerable, despite his ailing mental faculties and decrepit physical health. Though, through this conquest of Iridonia, the resources that had been previously set aside would be made accessible to them once again. And then the Sith'ari's plans would fulfilled, as he had prophesized.

A grin split the holographic image of the Zabrak.
Excellent. Though Vallius's punishment is merely coincidental in this strategy, I need the Dark Diamond Palace secured. I cannot proceed forward without my laboratory and its contents. Continue to play your part, my Empress. Everything is proceeding according to plan...
Even though his mind was faltering and his physical form was deteriorating at a rapid pace, the Force had granted him clarity. A vision of what was to come. And death cheated. But first, he needed Malidris. And access to his clones beneath the Palace. From there, Znalost could help him secure his continued survival.

Vanguard Squad The interaction between the Empress, Lord Wraak and Knight-Commander Klassen had been interesting to watch, at least that was until the Empress decided she was going to feed on one of the prisoners from the fortress on Nur. That had been downright unsettling. If it had bothered any of the members of Vanguard, none of them had made any notion of it, however. Thankfully the black visor concealed their eyes from being seen by anyone else. And the helmet allowed some privacy when it came to facial expressions. And the rest of the squad stood at ease, positioned throughout the Throne Room. The five Praetorian Shadowtroopers were also positioned across the room, though they took up positions alongside the Jedi/Sith Statues closest to the throne itself. All in all, there was never a dull moment in the Obelisk.

Once again, I was seated upon the obsidian throne in the center of the room. Having previously witnessed the Sith'ari transfer his essence from his original body to that of a clone had been...rather intimidating. And I wasn't easily intimidated. Few could safely execute that sort of control, let alone occupy a cloned body with little to no respite from the exertion of transferring their essence, yet Viox had managed it. Though the combined power from the Elders most likely aided him, I reminded myself. The holoprojector that was on the floor, several feet away from the base of the throne was on, displaying several reports simultaneously. Pzob was pacified and Aden Vykus was on his way here. And, as the General had reported, he had decided to leave the terms of Vykus' execution up to the Sith'ari. That pleased me greatly. While Viox was powerful and intimidating, he wasn't one to shy away from those facts. I, however, liked to me much more subtle about my power and capabilities. And while I was certainly well looked after within the Imperium, feeding off of Vykus' life force would be extremely satisfying. Even more satisfying than watching Viox murder Thedas on Kamino. While I did enjoy watching someone be violently put in their place, feeding on them was a whole different level. And I was hungry. Soon enough, I reminded myself. Soon. I would make Vykus beg for his death. And I would derive a significant amount of pleasure from doing so. As several staff moved among the throne room, I absently watched them. Despite being the Empress of the Blackguard Imperium, I knew that my reign was coming to an end. Even if it was temporary, Viox and I would no longer be in charge of all that he created. Hopefully Znalost proved capable of keeping what Viox was currently reforming, together. Viox shaking off the ridiculous shackles of the "Rule of Unity" served to push the Blackguard towards the true Sith Empire it was meant to be, but could anyone aside from someone like Viox manage to maintain a group of power hungry Sith all vying for power? I guess that would remain to be seen, or rather, reported to me. Hopefully Viox had a contingency plan for in case Znalost couldn't handle it, though it was unlikely that he would tell me right now. There was still much he wanted to achieve before 'stepping' down as the Sith'ari. A small smirk crossed my lips. The thought of Viox actually stepping down from his position as Siht'ari was almost laughable. Everything that was transpiring within the Imperium was doing so according to his schemes. And he made it very apparent that nothing was going to stand in his way. Not even death. And that was the thought I occupied my mind with, while awaiting for the arrival of General Xethuys and his prisoner...

Dark Obelisk of the Blackguard - Throne Room
Aden Vykus and his escort of four red armored, black visor Sith Commandos entered the Throne Room, where the Empress was, seated upon the obsidian throne. General Xethuys was mere footsteps behind them, having caught up to them after a quiet moment of reflection before meeting with the Empress. Waving the commandos away, Xethuys grabbed Vykus by the chains in which he was bound and shoved him forward onto the stone floor. Dropping to one knee, Xethuys bowed his head.
My Empress. I present to you, former Overseer of Pzob, Aden Vykus.
As the General spoke, he motioned towards Zabrak who was laying on the stone floor, defeated. At this point, either the Empress would deal with him herself, or she'd wait and let the Sith'ari deal with him. Either way, Aden Vykus' fate was sealed. And it was guaranteed to be a fate so much worse than death.

I could sense the depressed, defeated and terrified thoughts of the prisoner, moments before he and his escort entered the throne room. My eyes darted to the chained figure of Aden Vykus. A Zabrak of impressive physical stature. A shame that he had chosen to resist. He could have become my new favorite toy, I thought to myself as the armored figure of General Xethuys appeared and motioned the prisoner's escort away. As he dropped to a knee and bowed in respect, the General announced his prisoner in a rather proud tone. Clearly the General was rather pleased with himself for having managed to bring Vykus in alive. And he had every right to be pleased. Most Sith would fight for their lives, no matter the odds. Vykus obviously had no delusions about the severity of his situation, and rather than die bravely, fighting to the death, he allowed himself to be captured and brought before me. Shifting in my seat, I leaned forward, eyes still locked on the Zabrak that had merely decided to continue laying on the stone floor, rather than raise himself back up to his feet, or even his knees. "General. You impress me." Rising to my feet, I slowly walked down the steps towards the prisoner, the anticipation of what was to come next was nearly unbearable. But I contained myself and remained composed, for the General's sake more than anything else. "Aden Vykus of Iridia. A fine specimen of your species, a poor excuse for a Sith." I taunted, knowing I could get under his skin and irritate him in just the right fashion before I drained the life from him. Motioning for the General to step back, I walked over to the fallen form of Vykus, stood overtop of him, bent down and curled three fingers around one of his cranial horns. Pulling his head up, to which he offered no resistance, I leaned in close. "Were you not such an imbecile, I'd probably grant you an honorable death. Give you a fighting chance. Alas, you have continually proven you are a failure. A disappointment. Not worthy of the title of Sith..." I trailed off, allowing the words to sink in. I then allowed my lips to gently caress his right ear lobe. With a coy smile, I pushed his head into the floor. Not violently, but with enough force to cause the Zabrak's head to jerk back as his nose came into contact with the stone. And yet, not a sound came from him. He had already accepted his fate. But that didn't stop the sense of dread that hung in the air. Stepping off of the Zabrak, I walked a few steps back towards the throne. "On your feet, Vykus." I paused for a moment, my back still turned to him, then continued forward, climbing the steps to the throne. Upon seating myself, I noticed that Vykus had not moved. Pathetic. And disheartening. No will to fight back, no desire to even remotely defend himself. Eyes flashing from the prisoner to the General, I gave Xethuys a quick nod...
