I love the smell of History in the morning....
Mission
The Chronicle is meant to be a compendium of the history of the JvS timeline. At a glance, someone can look at The Chronicle and get a summary of the major events within JvS History. Anything from the rise and fall of a Faction, to the numerous battles a planet may have been the set piece for. We intend to enter in as many events as we can possibly find and get submitted for addition.
It is a one stop shop for all your history needs. Whether you just want to reminisce about battles of bygone days and events that happened long ago. Or you are a new Writer looking to get a start on JvS and want to include an event from JvS history into your backstory. The Chronicle will have your covered.
Submissions
In an effort to Chronicle the expansive history that JvS has, we are going to need some help. Five people is a decent team, but there are some of you that have been around JvS longer than some of us on the Advocates team. And many of you will have better details about an event that occurred in your own backyard. This is where the Submissions area comes in to play.
Let's start with a brief overview of how you get an event submitted:
The above is the "best form" template for how to format things. Remember, what you are doing is submitting an event for inclusion. We will handle formatting once we have gathered all the information and include it in the Chronicle.
Deep Dive
Now let's get into the nitty-gritty of how this will all work and what each heading means and how it relates to you.
Approval/Review Process:
The process is pretty simple. Once the thread has been made, one of my many personalities will review the submission. Checking it for all the points listed above and making sure it is as accurate as possible. They will also screen for any IC propaganda. What this means, is that these entries are designed to be as unbiased as possible. You as a Writer are submitting them for entry, not your character.
Any mentions of "the evil Galactic Alliance stormed the First Order's peaceful world of <insert planet>" will be scrubbed and replaced with "The Galactic Alliance invaded/attacked the First Order planet, <insert planet>". You can certainly add little notes at the end of an entry to note propaganda each side notes about the event. But like real history, everything is open for interpretation IC.
Effect:
Broadly speaking, Events will fall into one of two categories:

Effect:
Broadly speaking, Events will fall into one of two categories:
- Galactic - Events that shape the galactic scene. These are events that several writers took place in and were open to as many people as possible. This means that people who wanted to join were not turned away without reason (Reasonable excuse: You already had 10 people crammed in on each side and the SL was already jarring to read without adding 2 more people. Unreasonable excuse: You wanted to write your character overthrowing an entire major power by him or her self).
- Planetary - Events that shaped a planet. These are events that ranged in size from a pair of writers to several writers. But where as Galactic events shaped the Galaxy as we know it. These events were a little more contained. These could be closed or open RPs.
