Hyperdrive malfunctions are rare, plain and simple. Thousands of years of development and refinement have created a device that is as common as a no.2 pencil on primitive worlds and fusion power on more advanced planets. Complex as it is, it is ubiquitous in its ability to shrink the galaxy for many travelers every day.
When it fails, and again, it very rarely does, it does so in strange ways. Bending space-time to the point of absurdity can have drastic consequences for anyone unlucky enough to be caught in the wake.
Malfunctions are hardly mechanical in nature, as safeguards keep it from doing anything that can endanger crews. But there are the one in a million/billion instances where something happens externally, at just the precise moment, to cause things to go awry.
Normally, this results in a distortion of time across space, resulting in crews winding up in different places or times than what they expected.
But what if something happened that allowed someone to traverse the multiverse and wind up somewhere other than OZ?
That's what happened to Dees. You see, she is from another universe. In a place before mice ran the show and legends were real, Dees existed. What was familiar to her before is now foreign, and she will have to re-learn the rules of the show.
Due to an anti-matter detonation at the precise moment she made the jump to hyperspace, she was cast out of her universe and into a new, foreign space.
It is a story that will grow and develop over time. It has a beginning, and it may have an end one day. But I do wonder what will be in the middle?

Welcome to JvS. After a brief look at your post, I’m going to say your character is at least a decent pilot and admiral? Got any particular preference where your character ends up? Is she more of an Imperial? Or a freedom fighter?

Thanks So yes, Dees is/was in command of a large transport vessel, and had command over a fleet of them when called for. Her former rank now that she is here is meaningless; she is admiral of nothing. She is an excellent pilot and navigator. Her ability to traverse hyperspace is virtually unmatched. In an old post, a long time ago, I had her traverse space-time so quickly that the move was almost instantaneous. She was jumping in and out of atmosphere before it was Cannon. But, as I mentioned elsewhere, she is getting a reboot. She will reference her former abilities, but I think she will be severely handicapped in her ability to navigate like she used to, at least for a while. She can still a pilot, but she will not be able to make hyperspace calculations like she once could. As far as the story goes, she is crashing on Endor for a bit. I’m going to solo it while I get back into the groove of writing and re-learn the post reply tools. Back in the day, my first PC was a part of a Jedi(ish) Temple there, and I will have her come across the ruins of it. There she will gather a few things I forgot in my first character post, namely an environment suit. AVI will find a droid chassis to inhabit. I'm going to pull from my AVI character I made for the Star Wars Age of Rebellion tabletop game so he will be in an ancient war droid chassis since Dee has zero combat ability. So my posts on Endor are going to be expository and help me fill in some of the gaps in her tale as I go along. Beyond that, I have no specific direction. I will see if I can fit in with some of the folks I used to write with, but I am fairly flexible. Dee is a non-force user, and is neutral good leaning but mostly nonconfrontational if possible. She is fiercely loyal to those close to her but will leave at the first hint of betrayal. So that’s where I’m at on a rainy Sunday morning.
