So good was his Niece's disguise, that not even Thomas recognized her passing through the crowd and making an approach toward the Emperor. Though some part of that was his focus and attention being upon the ceremony celebrating a much more official and higher elevation of his rank. He rose up to his feet and accepted the Baton. He held it aloft, examining the craftsmanship and what it symbolised for himself and those that were serving beneath his command. He was now their voice and advocate. But much like Vasili, only 2 positions of command existed above him now. His responsibility was to all of the armies within the First Order Just as I dutifully served your Father, I shall do the same for you. The Imperial Armies shall crush our foes beneath our boots and bring Order to Chaos... Ad Victoriam! Ad Gloriam! He struck his hand out with the baton in the salute of the First Order

Nicademus had taken the leading role personally, but that was because his father was a commander of men. He had been raised and experienced life differently than Octavian and his siblings considering the wars and battles the late Emperor had commanded and overseen. The contrast was that Octavian was to become a leader of men, a true Emperor in the sense of the definition. Appointing this trio was among the first signs of this. Nicademus had advised his son well in delegating authority to those capable and trustworthy, to ensure that those with merit rise high and given appropriate office. The prestige of the throne would be supported and enhanced by those appointed. Octavian knew that the storm, within the Empire, could be weathered and contained by those he would be appointing to lead the cause forward.
Noticing Nem Yin was present too, the Emperor had a plan for the Yuuzhan Vong, considering the sudden neutrality of Imperial Intelligence and those that refused the order by the Director being meager and overstretched trying to inform their Emperor as best they could. It certainly annoyed and ticked Octavian that such a vital organ of the Empire was not responding to his commands, but the threat in the Core Worlds was more important.
However, before being able to speak more, his eyes noticed one of the Imperial Praetorians react to the approach of an officer. This rally was not supposed to be interrupted as once it was concluded, the Emperor had planned to converse with his lead commanders on the plans devised between himself and the newly made Supreme Commander. Octavian raises a hand to one of his guards, indicating for them to relax. His eyebrow arched when the female officer stated that she was a member of the Imperial Security Bureau and had something of import to speak with him. The Emperor flexes his hand slightly, contemplating for a moment.
Roderick, show the Lieutenant to the conference room behind us. I will be there momentarily.
His trusted official nods his head and proceeds to direct Else Garbade to the room stated. Octavian returns his gaze to those gathered now.
All of you, be prepared for what is to come. A storm is certainly raging at the heart of the Empire. One that threatens the very order and stability that was established by my father, the late Emperor, and assisted by those most capable and loyal. It has already claimed a most loyal servant... and beloved uncle.
The loss of his mentor still stung so hard against his heart. Octavian had hoped to rely upon Brock Ferrum for just a bit longer. Perhaps even see him retire to an estate somewhere. But instead, a blaster bolt had claimed his fate and ended it most cruelly. There was a resonating effect as the Emperor had felt many of his brothers and sisters of the Imperial Knights be killed by a foe unknown to him and the loyalists of the Empire.
But we will not falter. We will see this storm contained, this disease cured, and peace restored to the Empire!
Octavian rose from his throne, addressing those assembled before him.
Long Live the Empire!
After the rally, the Emperor, with senior officers, removed themselves to the conference room in the rear. Whereas the plan had been to discuss the military plans moving forward first, Octavian had to see what was brought to him by the ISB officer in question. When the room darkened and the transmission came online, the Imperial's eyes widened at the sight of Roland Ferrum! He was alive! And yet, what was to be spoken would shake the very core of the young ruler.

"Just give me a name, your highness." Intruded Nem's gnullith distorted voice, his tone unmistakably cold as a killers. The First Prefect took a step closer. He'd had his fill of pomp and pageantry at the coronation and was eager to get to business, and as it was his chosen profession happened to be well suited to the wet work he would see done if given the opportunity to pursue things as he saw fit. Clenching his fists down at his sides, the calcified knuckles of his hands cracked in a series of sinuous pops. "There is only one way to deal with traitors. Tell me who you would see die first and I'll drag my coufee blade across their throat personally, before lining your battlements with the severed heads of their entire line."

—Lucius lifted his head as his ears caught a slight commotion from one of the guards. There it seemed that a woman had approached the Emperor and gave him some form of news. It must have been quite urgent to try and get Octavian’s attention during the ceremony and if she was trying to keep a low key, doing so when all eyes were on the proceedings was the worst choice. If anything, she just became the star of the show. Still, the now Grand Admiral said nothing, knowing the Emperor and his guards had the situation handled.
Standing as Octavian gave his closing speech, looking to rally those present, Lucius rallied and yelled in return along with those around them. They would stand strong and weather the storm. They were loyal to him and would fight to see this situation end.
Just then, another spoke up, calling out to the Emperor. Vasili glanced back to the Vong. He had heard of the race being taken in by the Empire, though up until this point, he had yet to speak or even see one. If he was here, certainly there was a reason, no doubt being summoned..—

Being the heart of the royalist cause had brought new life and activity to Bastion. It seemed there was an endless stream of young men and women seeking employment, both sciosn of Imperial families and newcomers to the life they sought to participate in. There were those that spoke of the glory days under Ardus Kaine, Gilad Pellaeon, and the Fel dynasty that stroked the fires within the hearts of the ordinary Imperial citizen. When word came of landfall on Prakith, the planet exploded into jubilee and celebration as they believed the war to be almost over, yet the older citizens felt that there could be a change where everything could be reversed. They didn't wish to be pessimistic, but more real about the reality of what could happen. And yet, there were those that noticed new activity that indicated a belief that those of the upper echelons of the Empire were planning something big for Bastion. Yet, they were keeping it quite under wraps.
