She takes his hand a shakes it.I am Cadet Commander Akulas Ecklund, nice to meet you. Delvardus? Are you related to the Emperor at all? For a second, Octavian gives Ecklund another raised eyebrow before turning to Nicademus. And here everyone says I look like a younger version of you, Father. In the next moment, Octavian let out another good laugh. He must not look a younger version of the reigning Emperor like everyone else had said to the cadet. The Imperial could hardly be angry given the last comment. The young prince extends his hand and gestures to the Emperor who was situated across from the two of them. The Emperor is my father. I am Crown Prince Octavian, brother of Fiora, Remus, and Yvaine Delvardus. The squire had never imagined meeting someone who didn't know who he was. But here it happened and it only put him a good mood. The moment to full realization hit her, time stood still. In that moment she felt as if her life as she new it had ended. He career was almost certainly over. The confidence and pride she just had were now crushed. She also felt horrible for letting the Grand Moff down. Her shoulders sank back a little. She just wanted to vanish into thin air. She responded defeated but truthful. Now the resemblance was absolutely clear. And she felt foolish for missing it. She was so focused on saying the right words that she missed what was right in front of her. She hated politics, and she started to get angry at Standash for always forcing her into them. Any force user would feel the embracement and now building anger.Until today, I have never really seen anything other than the odd holo of your Majesty. Enough to recognize you nothing more. When you visited New Carida, I was always focused on mu duties. I... I am so sorry... She is ready for every dismissal imaginable. She was alreay thinking of what to tell her parents when she knocks on their door after being removed from the academy.

Until today, I have never really seen anything other than the odd holo of your Majesty. Enough to recognize you nothing more. When you visited New Carida, I was always focused on mu duties. I... I am so sorry... Her demeanor changed instantly when realization set in. This was something that Octavian was never used to; when people realized who he truly was and felt they had to treat him differently as a result. The prince sighs lightly after she spoke, scratching his nose a little before speaking to Ecklund.Cadet, you need not worry about apologizing. If I was truly upset, I would have said so before.Octavian smiles, trying to reassure her that nothing was wrong. I will clarify though that have yet to visit New Carida, so you would have never had the chance to see me.The Imperial gestures to the knights that were with his father. My training with the Knights takes me to the far corners of the Empire and beyond. In fact, I am due to go on diplomatic mission once my training is near its end. My father believes I need more than just the warrior's education. I am a prince, I must understand soldiers and politics.Once more, the smile appears, which was more than often. Something that the Emperor was starting to take note of as his son conversed with the female cadet. Octavian turns his gaze back to Ecklund and once more extends his hand to her.No hard feelings, alright? Its better that I am not noticed too much anyways. Like my father, I was never one for the holocams.

I am so sorry... For a time, the Emperor simply watched as the two conversed. Nicademus instantly took notice of his son's more apparent smile. Only ever did it show often around his brother and sisters, especially his younger siblings who giggled and laughed. Still, Nicademus was surprised by the apology of Cadet Ecklund for not noticing the resemblance between father and son. Calmly, the Imperial raises his hand and waves slightly. No need to apologize, Cadet Ecklund.Nicademus was not one to get upset over this sort of situation. There was hardly a need to apologize. As you can see, my son, though young, has a good head on his shoulders. The discipline and education of the Imperial Knights has been a boon to him. Just as the Ren training to my daughter, Fiora. His eyes glance away from the cadet and directly spot Standash Thul nearby. He motions to her subtly before returning to the Akulas. You are a good Stormtrooper, Akulas. Do not hang your head in shame for the mistake.

Standash nods at the first part.I do believe that she has that potential. She will never be Thrawn tactically, but people will fight for her. That has tremendous value as well, as long as she keeps good people around her.She pause at the dark truth that comes with war. There is always that chance we will lose the best and brightest too early. All we can do is try to get them in the best place. I could recommend that she get a safer post gaurd duty perhaps, but that would be a disservice to the First Order. A commander like her needs to be leading from the front. She watches and listens in horror to Akulas's conversation with the Prince. The Grand Moff's heart lodges in her neck. Meekly she manages to say.Or she can just torpedo her entire career in one night in front of the Grand Marshall, the Crown Prince, and the Emperor himself... Noticing the uprising situation as well, Jenia looked over with Standash towards the young cadet and how the scene unfolded. The Grand Admiral felt oddly chill about it, even though she probably would have been horrified as a cadet herself, if such a mistake would happen to her. Then again though, she knew the Emperor she was fighting for, got a better feel of him and his habits the more she rose up over the ranks within the Imperial Navy and thus was aware that it wouldn't be a death sentence. At least not from Nicademus' side. His son though... Kasalle pondered if she had ever spoken with Octavian and his sister. Maybe greeted them briefly on an occassion or bowed before them alongside other officials. If there was a glint of nervousness then maybe it came from how the heir of the Emperor would react to the faux-pas of the young lady. Even then though she doubted that he would do anything harmful, even if he felt insulted by it.
But the situation relaxed as quickly as it rose up. Both Emperor and son reacted calm on the encounter, probably much to Standash's relief. "At least it seems that this torpedo didn't get launched yet, as the captain seems content of keeping it within it's arsenal", she solely remarked with a glint of smugness, turning her attention back to the fellow moff, "She'll do fine, just as others did before her. Leave the social banter to the Imperial nobility and those among the officers, that haven't learnt all of the First Order's values. If her regiment can hold the ground against the Emperor's enemies and win against them despite the odds they had to face, nobody will think of her mistakes. Officers name me already a heroine for my services in the final battle of Mon Cala in my position as Rear Admiral, yet to my surprise barely anyone mentions the battles I have lost in the past or valued some of the smaller skirmishes. Cadet Ecklund will expierience it in a similiar way, so don't be too concerned. One mistake at a gala isn't the end of the world, especially not if you have the support of the Emperor and his peer." And those that should be worried are probably already tracked down by Imperial Intelligence or are still observed by them. She didn't spoke out the last thought, but the Grand Admiral was almost certain that those, that had to fear the Emperor's Wrath weren't those in obvious plain sight.

Their words did not really help her embarrassment, or her anger at Standash. That was more because she was really angry at her self. Standash had tried to get her to study these political things, but she hadn't done it. That is normal, we get angry at others for our failures. She breathed and adressed them both. Thank you... your majesties. At this point she choses to just come clean entirely. Politics has never been an interest to me. I am a soldier, it doesn't matter who is giving the order, my job is to see that the objective is met. My father is a merchant back on Carida, that's what he told us. Do what you can, and don't worry about what you can't change... She looks up and locks eyes with Standash. Grand Moff Thul has tried to get me to pay more attention to the greater galaxy, I guess that is a mission I am failing. Most of my time is with my squad, helping them. I get a lot of younger cadets and washouts, they need a lot of help.

Standash nods to Jenia's council. She was correct. Standash saw great potential in Akulas, and the girl was living up to most of it. Standash did have to remind herself that the girl was still just 15, the perfect age for learning from mistakes. She notices the Emperor's motion and turns to her friend.Well lets get closer and make sure she doesn't try again then shall we.She walks over to the small assembled group, making notes of who was there. She was able to keep a charming smile on her face seeing Brock, she was rather frustrated he had seen all this play out. She greeted those around. A gentle head bow to the Emperor and prince.Good evening your Highness, Prince Octavian it is always a pleasure to see you, it has been too long my young friend. Knight Brock Ferrum...That was a curt greeting, the minimum to give to a well known Knight and Emperor's brother. It seems you all have met Cadet Commander Ecklund. Thank you cadet for reminding me to speak to the commandant about adding a civics class to the core curriculum. Grand Admiral Kassalle, this is the exceptional cadet I was telling you about.

Brock had grown to dislike the sorts of large scale social functions over the years. In all honestly he'd never been particularly fond of them, but the more of them he attended the more he hated them. Since taking on responsibility for the Prince's Imperial Knight training he wasn't able to drown his annoyance in alcohol. Sometimes being responsible was frustrating, and the more people looked at you to be responsible the more frustrating it could be. It seemed to him that with every new title Nic decided to tack on to him the more miserable his life had become. He stayed just outside of the group gathered around the Emperor and his two eldest children, watching over their shoulders at the large man, wishing he was wearing his armor instead of the Crimson Uniform he'd eventually agreed to wear to these events as a compromise with the protocol officers. It was a dress variety of the crimson uniforms worn by the officers serving in the Crimson Command however it bore no rank insignia on the chest, displaying only a gold white shield where an officers insignia would normally rest. It took every ounce of his training not to glare at Harnan Ren or reach for the two lightsabers at his belt as he watched the large man out of the corner of his eye. There were few people in the galaxy he truly disliked but the Ren was definitely at the top of that list. His continued presence in the empire was a thorn that Brock hoped he'd one day be able to remove from his side. However that time had not yet come. Though he knew that one day the man would grow tired of his games and show his true colors. So caught up in his own thoughts he barely noticed the curt greeting from Grand Moff Thul as she joined the group. It seemed that she was swooping in to cover for her student's social misstep. Why some in the empire put so much time into trying to appear as socially capable was something he'd never be able to understand. He gave a small nod to the woman in response to her greeting, it's minimalist nature not bothering him in the least.

The Emperor clasp the shoulder of Zahn with a smile on his face.Corulag is one of our most prestigious academies. To grace them with the presence of a Grand Marshal would be a boon to the cadets there. Ensure that the recruits are ready for the arduous tasks of garrisoning worlds, conquering battlefields, and ensuring the glory of the Empire. The Imperial needed someone to head up Corulag for what was to come after all.Besides, we will need the legions in the near future. And your proven skill with your own men will ensure a crack force.Plans had been formulated around the time Zahn had re-enlisted with Imperial High Command. Baltasar was handling most of the operational planning with the other senior officers. Zahn was best for being the vanguard leader and such a position would need a honed spear tip. It took a lot to startle Thomas Zahn, but suddenly having the Emperor clasps his shoulders was one of the few things that did. He was a military man loyal to the Empire, sure he could manage more informal talk and interactions with others. But with the Emperor, it was even awkward for him to see the man so jovial and up close. He forced a smile and tried to relax himself by focusing on the task handed to himWell, the 20th Army's effectiveness on Coruscant and subsequent missions since then should be an indication of my work. So I can assure you, Corulag will hold the top spot of the most prestigious academy in the First Order once I am done... Thankfully, relief arrived in a most unexpected form: that of the Crown Prince. Not something you would normally associate with relief in that moment. However, this was no ordinary moment, as one of the most socially inept, but tactically brilliant, Cadet's in the Empire was also there. Suffice to say, Zahn felt a little bit of second hand embarrassment for Standash over the interaction that transpired. Though he certainly enjoyed watching Akulas stumble her way through realizing that the Crown Prince had knocked into her and working out who he was. But it did mean he was out of the Emperor's center of attention, which at that moment was fine with him.
He offered a short bow to Crown Prince Octavian, and then a more simple nod of his head to Grand Moff Thul and Grand Admiral Kassalle when the two women joined the gathering. He kept to the edge of the conversation for now, preffering to observe what would transpire next

Almost as soon as Fiora left his side to go see Jin, Harnan's gaze shifted toward the presence of Brock Ferrum. Steward of the Imperial Knights, and the half-brother of Nicademus. Unlike the Imperial Knight, Harnan had the luxury of glaring at Brock with total impunity. Though, truth be told, he would have glared at the Imperial Knight anyway. It brought some amusement that Brock was forced to suit up for this occasion, the man's discomfort quite apparent to him. Something which brought a sinister smirk to his face. The one thing they seemed to agree on, was that the First Order did not need the other side around. They also agree that one day, one of them would see their wish come true. Until then, he was forced to play nice. A task made all the more easier by the discomfort he knew Brock must have felt about how eagerly Fiora had embraced the teachings of the Ren
Zanah continued to observe the proceedings, watching and keeping track of Harnan and Fiora, even as the pair split up. But her attention was soon upon a third individual: Grand Moff Standash Thul. A woman whom she had started to grow to hate and despise. Not out of straight jealousy. After all, Harnan held no fancy for the Imperial. But someone whom had garnered Harnan's attention, did indeed hold the Grand Moff in regard. And Zanah intended to use that to her advantage

So I can assure you, Corulag will hold the top spot of the most prestigious academy in the First Order once I am done... =prior to the conversation above= This was how Nicademus would be remembered by the Imperial Military. He was a man who was personal and informal many times over. Hence why the Emperor still wore a military uniform and not the trappings of some royal. During many campaigns, he would sit with his Stormtroopers, eat their rations, and speak with them. Once upon a time, he too came from one of the many backgrounds that his soldiers came from as well, with a heart dedicated to the revival of the Imperial state. Certainly, his senior officers found it rather odd behavior, but it was part of his charisma that kept the Empire together.Good. When we return to Coruscant, I will have details on your army's new assignment. After all, the Twentieth was among the many ground forces and fleets of the Imperial Military that would begin receiving new orders that would see a reshuffling of deployment and a new state of readiness for something to come.

Jin couldn't help but beam at Fiora. They had been apart for some time. Jin's training had taken her not only form Corucant but also from Prakith. However, things seemed to be about to change for the Empire and that meant change for everyone. It may even mean she'd be able to return to the Ren headquarters. I certainly hope I will. My current instructor has been leading me on all manor of assignments. But right now there seems to be a chance I could convince him to return to Prakith. I mean, who else is gonna watch your back? She had been at least vaguely aware that Jin's training had been progressing, but Harnan had never given her any details. Perhaps as a test to see whether she'd worry or try obtain answers other ways. Or perhaps he simply did not consider the information relevant for her to know. Her own studies, after all, should be her focus so that she could improve. But she also knew she'd be able to do much more with her best friend by her sideI'll be certain to make sure Master Harnan brings you back to Prakith! I won't give him any other choice! I need my best friend by my side to have my back! I'll make him tremble with fear if he thinks to say no. She smiled and chuckled at the joke. Few things scared Harnan Ren, and Fiora was absolutely not one of those things. She was, by comparison, something of a pup compared to him. He felt no fear for her. But Fiora was quite certain he would feel pity for her cause. And that would be enough for this task

Thank you cadet for reminding me to speak to the commandant about adding a civics class to the core curriculum. Grand Admiral Kassalle, this is the exceptional cadet I was telling you about. Although she wasn't sure whether to follow up or not, Jenia solely nodded and followed after Standash. She gave Thomas Zahn and Brock Ferrum a brief nod, as they approached, showing respect towards those, that accompanied the Emperor, while respectfully lowering her head to both Octavian and his father. As usual she felt honored and proud within their presence, realizing that one day the young man next to his father might be the next under whom she would serve. Given that Standash was already talking, she left most of the talk for hers, though she also offered a friendly nod into the direction of the young Cadet Commander. Though her own expression was probably looking as stern as usual, she hoped that she didn't intimidate the young woman too much. She kinda wondered if Cadet Ecklund wouldn't be overwhelmed now completely with so many high ranking members next to her.She has the spirit of a true Imperialist. I can see going her and her unit going far within the Corps.Nicademus would look away from Ecklund and directly at Standash Thul. She has potential and one that I would see is properly molded with real experience someday. The Imperial continues speaking from there. How long until her education is finished, Grand Moff? Like the Braxant Legionaires. Jenia's thoughts drifted for a short moment to her brother Salvatore, who had fought back then for Nicademus' remnant alongside those Stormtroopers, that would form one of the most formidable corps within the First Order's soldier ranks. When Prakith was pacified and the First Order's focus on opponents shifted towards other forces within the galaxy, now that the Empire was reformed under a new Emperor, he had returned to Prakith in order to form the front of the houseguard and to train new conscripts in the same ways as he was trained. If it wasn't for his status as heir to the main line of the Kasalle Company, he probably could have achieved similiar greatness. Yet the loyality towards his family was stronger than his loyality towards the Emperor. Strange, how it was quite the opposite for her, even though she could reason his motivations.

One that would be prestigious and give them the experience they need to become a true crack company of Stormtroopers, one that even the 501st or the Imperial Guard would be honored to have among their ranks one day perhaps. This was a tough question to answer, she wasn't expecting to give a full report on the cadet's successes and failures here in front of the girl and much of the high command of the military. Ecklund's leadership skills were used to improve struggling cadets and those cadets were then moved to different squads after. Serving under the Cadet Commander had lasting effects. Because of this, her squad was a revolving door of troopers. It was very difficult to make a distinction on the Cadet. She was still just 15. Her potential was off the charts, but she was still learning. Leadership skills and empathy for her men, Standash saw no problem in ranking her among the best in all the First Order. The girl still had much to learn in strategy and tactics. She still had to be told and given orders to be most successful. She was average at best for cadets in this area. She could learn these on the job, but that would put her at risk. On a more personal note, Standash was not ready to lose her protégé. Standash never expected to get married and she would likely never have children. At this thought, she noticed Brock again and he came to her mind. She forced herself to brush it off.Standash saw this girl as her best chance to leave a lasting legacy. She wasn't ready to let her out. But she was asked a question, and it seemed the Emperor had a plan. She cleared her throat before speaking.Cadet Ecklund is the most promising cadet I have seen in my time in government, any government. She gets more out of her troopers than I have seen at any level. Strategically, she is still learning. She does not yet poses the skills to plan out operations. She is great at executing other's plans. She is still learning, but people often learn better on the job with the challenge. and Miss Ecklund never runs from a challenge. She is young, without a well known family, or the Force. I would be worried that she would not receive the respect of enlisted troopers no matter her accomplishments and skills. My nature of her age only. As for her squad, they are no where close to ready. That is because her squad is always changing. After serving with the Cadet Commander for a short period, they often end up with squads of their own. Though, she is a fine judge of character and skill. If she was asked to build a squad that she felt was ready, I trust she would have a great one ready in a day. I trust the young woman to be the future of the First Order, if you are asking me if that future could start now? Then my answer to you would be this. It is better to wait, but she is capable of handling anythign you have for her.

It is better to wait, but she is capable of handling anythign you have for her. Her unit was always changing... it was good to be used to any replacements and know how to ensure fresh blood could be properly utilized in a short amount of time. Yet, for advancement beyond the academy, Nicademus didn't view this as a good. The constant changes in a person's unit meant others advanced while Ecklund stayed where she was as the commander of a company that fluctuated left and right depending upon where her comrades went after a time. The Emperor feels that this could ensure Ecklund didn't advance at a pace that was needed to make her a full-fledged Stormtrooper Commander.Ensure that her current unit remains with her, no more shuffling unless absolutely necessary, and have their education properly finished on time, Grand Moff Thul. Their potential will wane if they don't get proper field experience. The command came with a firm voice spoken by Nicademus. When that is concluded, they will be reassigned to 222nd Attack Battalion. His hand extends and gestures to Octavian who seemed rather surprised by the order. And go with my son where he is needed as an Imperial Knight and the heir to the Empire. The Imperial looks at Thul.I hope that this is acceptable and agreeable.War was coming and the cadets needed their opportunity to shine. They needed to cement themselves for the future to come. He would not deny them the chance to gain the experience that would make them veterans one day, similar to those grizzled troopers of the Reunification Wars and the Third Galactic Civil War.

This night had not gone in anyway like she could have ever expected. She had hoped to blend into the background, maybe meet some people and tell them how much she admired them. If she was lucky, she would get a hello from the Emperor. Here she was, in an ill-fitting Formal cadet uniform, the center of attention of some of the most powerful people in the First Order. Deep down, she kept trying to convince herself that this was a dream. Teenage insecurities built up around her from the attention. Inside she panicked when the Emperor flat out asked for the Grand Moff's assessment. Standash had always been open with her about her strengths and weaknesses, but this was a moment they would all be laid bare before her. Standash couldn't pull punches, she had to be perfectly open and honest. The girl was terrified. She was able to hide most of it from her face, a small nervous smile did peek through. Her emotions in the force would be on full display. That was not training that took place in a place like Carida. Standash had worked with her a bit on hiding them. She listened to Standash analyze her performance. Non of it was new information. Still, when Standash broke down her weaknesses as a tactician it stung. She had been working at it hard, and she learned a lot. She just lacked the creativity. She wasn't bad, just not as good as she wanted to be. Her age was a bit of a hit to her. Standash often told her not to let anyone look down on her for her age, that she should prove them wrong. It wasn't what Standash said, but it felt like the Grand Moff was admitting that it would be futile. She had always known that her squads were always shifting, more than most. She knew that her squadmates were promoted to other squads. What she didn't know was that this was known and a plan. They were using her to strengthen other squads, other squads that then got more credit and more accomplishments then her own. The predetermined nature of this made her angry. It felt like they were selling her short, and keeping her down. She was angry at Standash. Well she was until she heard the Emperor speak. In a night he had learned what Standash knew and had build over the years, that she was special. Pride filled her heart. She would have a consistent squad, and they would be able to dominate. The 222nd was a great unit. The assigning to the Prince, she was unsure of. She hadn't fully accepted Standash's feelings toward Force users, but she was influenced. Plus there was a general distrust and jealousy of them amongst most trooper cadets. She hoped that this role would be more than body guard duty. She said nothing at looked at Standash.

Standash was at her core a tactician, a planner, to put it bluntly, a schemer. Unlike great Admirals and Generals, her battlefield was people and their integrations. She prided her self in thinking moves ahead, predicting and moving people to respond the way she desired. She smiled at the Emperor's suggestions, "Excellent" she thought to her self. Carida was a specialized academy, it had one job and it was good at the job. It was to produce the best army for the first order. Not the best individual soldiers, but the best army. Its job was to use one's strength to cover up another's weakness. Individual greatness was nice, but it wasn't the goal. Standash could not alter that system for one cadet, or even a handful of cadets. The Emperor could. Here he had done just that. Akulas would stay under her watchful eye a little longer, and get the training to be elite. She was concerned about Akulas's current squad. They were un tested and unproven. Standash was much less confident in their path than she was Akulas's. She had and idea.Of course your Highness, but I would suggest one change. Cadet Commander Ecklund has served with many cadets over the past two years, she knows their strengths and weaknesses. Instead of transferring her current squad, perhaps she should be afforded the opportunity to build her own squad form those she has watched and served with?

The Emperor nods his head in acknowledgement. This is acceptable, Grand Moff.Nicademus accepts this amendment to the order given. His gaze then turns to Ecklund. When all is ready, you will receive your official transfer from the office of the Imperial High Command. Expect it to have come from the desk of our Grand Marshals with my approval stamped upon it. When your transfer is approved, expect the arrival of the Chevalier to the New Carida system. Your first assignment will begin upon boarding. The Emperor would nod to his son before quietly dismissing himself from the gathering of individuals. The Praetorian Guard turned on their heels and followed their ruler quietly. Nicademus needed a break from socialization. Just enough to ensure he had plenty of energy for further speeches and appearances later.

Standash nodded in agreement to the Emperor. She kept her smile to herself, and kept her satisfaction of the situation deep down. Only a Force user with a deep connection to her would have felt it. Her plan came together perfectly, abet a little earlier than she had intended. Deep down, she was worried that Akulas would struggle playing body guard for the prince, but that was a future problem. She would have to add more formal training to Akulas's regiment and for this new squad. Working for a royal had many unique challenges, and many of them dealt with proper fork and spoon uses. She turned to the young lady and smiled, and gave her a quick and comforting hug. A lot had just happened and Standash wanted Akulas to feel as comfortable as she could be.Well, that was eventful. Cadet Akulas, more good news, you have already made the worst mistakes you could at an event like this. She made sure to deliver this with a smile so the girl would know it was all in jest. Now you can just relax. Enjoy yourself. Try to meet people, even a boy. Admiral...She gave the girl a wink. She knew she had to give the girl space here. She began to wonder off, she wanted one of those fizzy pink drinks. She addressed Jenia Kasalle , to either follow if there was more to discuss, or it could have been a polite dismissal. As she walked she made eye contact with Brock Ferrum , and forced a polite smile to the Knight.

Akulas stands in a stunned silence as her life changes and is planned around her. She had no control over what was happening. That made a part of her very nervous and frustrated. It was what she signed up for and she could handle it, but it still bugged her. Two powerful people discussing her, like she want there. It made her feel very small. At the same time they were both building her up and praising her, it was giving her very conflicting emotions. Standash's idea that Akulas builds her own squad hit her square in her chest. She never saw that as a possibility. It was a lot of pressure, and she had worked with many great people. The timeline was sped up again when the Emperor turned to her and gave her his orders. This was all going down very fast. She can't bring herself to speak a response and just nods with the millions of things now rushing around her head. The comforting arm of Standash's hug shook her out of it a bit. She smiled at the joke, then got red at that last comment. She spoke the only thing that she could get out. Yes mam... The Grand Moff walked away and the cadet leaned against a tall table trying to compartmentalize everything that had just happened.

She addressed Jenia Kasalle , to either follow if there was more to discuss, or it could have been a polite dismissal. As she walked she made eye contact with Brock Ferrum , and forced a polite smile to the Knight. Following up her colleague, Jenia gave both Octavian and the Emperor a respectful nod as she exited the scene. Outside of battle and tactical analysis she wasn't too much of a good speaker. Perhaps she wouldn't have done a bad job, but then again... it mattered more for Nicademus and the Prince how effectively she could command an imperial fleet against any enemies that threatened the First Order's borders. Who knows, maybe one of them or Arcavius himself would call her over once the rendezvous on Ravelin was over, given that her abilities were still remembered. The chances with a war brewing at the southern borders weren't unlikely. And in the end that mattered more to her.
"I'm certain she will do justice to her promotion", Jenia eventually said to Standash, after they were out of hearing range, "Many were in her situation before, when they were young, myself included. The first time I took over a ship, I had seen many perils and many horrors, doubting even my own ability to handle such a burden. Yet my expieriences would ensure that I was in the end a better captain than I initially thought of myself. Be more concerned about those whose overconfidence and pride overshadows their promotion. For their loyality lies not with the Empire, but with themselves."
