Faina wishes that the moment where, her laughter joining Brock's, they return easily to the untroubled friendship that they had always shared, free from complications or doubts about the nature of their shared vocation, could go on and on, but the shift in Brock's mood is too deep and obvious. Recognizing the nature, as well as the source, of Brock's question, Faina struggles briefly with how best to respond, her role as Grandmaster conflicting with her role as his friend.
Brock is, without exception, one of the few individuals in the universe that Faina feels comfortable enough with to admit her own doubts and fears to, and so in the end she decides to be, if only for now, his friend rather than his Grandmaster, and so she says after a pause, "Now? No. I have wanted to be an Imperial Knight for as long as I can remember, you know that. I would be lying though, if I said there was not ever a time that I questioned whether or not the Emperor had lost his way, and was no longer an agent of the Light. Sighing, recalling how she struggled with her own doubts and fears about the changes Nicademus had brought about as he reforged the First Order from the ashes of the Imperial Remnant, Faina reassure Brock with a humorless laugh, You would have to be blind or a fool not to wonder whether or not the Emperor was not courting corruption by surrounding himself with some of the allies he has chosen, Brock. Her blue-grey eyes meet his as she says with utter conviction, bordering on fanaticism, Nicademus knows what he is doing though, can you not see that? Look at what he has built, how he has made those former agents of the Dark into servants of the Light. Look at what he has led them to do, the worlds that he has led them to bring together."
Leaning forward towards Brock, forcing him to meet her gaze, Faina says gently but without the slightest reservation, "Do not let the doubts and fears of those who lost their way lead you to lose yours, Brock. Smiling and returning to a lighter tone, Faina half-jokes, I will not let you. Leaning back in her seat, crossing her arms over her chest and smiling smugly, Faina quips, I believe you have to do what I say now that I have 'this gig', so I say trust that you are on the right path, and if you do not trust that, at least trust me to make sure that the Imperial Knights stay true to our purpose."

Emotions move through Brock like wind through a canyon, worry, doubt, fear, they are all there, battering at his resolve, making him want to just leave and never come back. However there are other things that keep him steadfast. Loyalty, Honor, Duty, and Friendship all batter past his urges to just take his shuttle and jump away, they keep him on the path he had chosen for himself all those years ago. It was good to hear that Faina shared a lot of his concerns and still decided to remain true to the Empire. It meant she wasn't just blindly following because of years of indoctrination, it meant she was seeing what was happening and making decisions for her own actions. Brock smiled faintly, of course she was, this was Faina after all. She may have spent almost all her life dreaming of being an Imperial Knight and training for that very purpose, but she wasn't a fool, she wouldn't follow someone else they truely deserved it. That about all other things gave Brock hope, despite his doubts about the "allies" their emperor had been gaining recently. He knew that so long as Faina stood with the First Order he would to. Maybe it was a lot of weight to put on the belief of another, but he trusted Faina more than anyone else he knew. He may be a little concerned about her almost fanatic level of belief in the newly made Emperor, but it was his duty to serve and protect and there was no way he wouldn't do that.
His smile returns as she shifts to a more lighthearted tease and he lets himself come back to the good old days for a while, filling his mind and heart with the many good memories he'd had with the other Knight, before giving her a wink and responding in jovial form. That may be technically true, but I never was very good at taking orders. He laughs again, rich and deep smiling at his friend and just enjoying the moment.

Faina laughs, readily agreeing, "No, no that never was your strong suite was it? Arching an eyebrow, she says in as stern a tone as she can muster given her amusement and acceptance of the fact that Brock is not likely to ever change much where taking orders is concerned, You know what they say though, it is never too late to change is it? With a grin, she teases her friend, You should probably take that to heart, and work on that following orders thing."
Her expression becoming more sober as it occurs to her that they cannot stave off the inevitable need to enter the fray awaiting them on Dathomir's surface forever, Faina somewhat reluctantly suggests, "Speaking of late, if we do not want to be, we had best start making our way to the surface had we not?"

The TIE silencer piloted by Agent Vixen made it's way quietly out of Dathomir's orbit and into hyperspace, keeping itself as stealthy as possible using the most modern technology the First Order had available. Coming out of hyperspace at a nearby dead system the agent sends a quick transmission to a specific point in space before immediately jumping back out of the system, making a few indirect jumps back toward Dathomir.Commander Merrik Piett, interim Director of Imperial Intelligence, stood on the bridge of bridge of the Immobilizer 418 cruiser Dark Web, his black Navy uniform pristine as he stands staring out the forward viewports watching the massive warship dwarf his much smaller ship. After a few moments he is interrupted by an aide bringing him a secure datapad. Looking down at it he smiles, his very white teeth gleaming. It looked like it was finally time to show the galaxy what the First Order's newest toy was capable of. Moving to the back of the bridge he makes his way into his small but tidy office, bringing up a private communication terminal and initiating a secure line of site link to the massive warship his small ship was accompanying. As soon as Admiral Admiral Auguste Rendrake was summoned Merrik smiled again, an almost predatory gleam coming to his eyes. Admiral, prepare Retribution Squadron, it is time to show the galaxy the might of the First Order. A few quick strokes sent the data package his team had gathered to Rendrake, detailing the relative strength and positions of the enemy. With the report made by Commander Merrik Piett, Imperial High Command and the Emperor were made aware of the situation and weakness that was Dathomir, a planet situated on the frontline between the Galactic Alliance and the First Order. The war had ended, but it was becoming clear to Nicademus that the Alliance was weakening with this peace instead of strengthening. After a quick discussion with his top military advisors, Retribution Squadron was redeployed from the Unknown Region to the Taris system, leaving behind one of its Mandator IV-class Siege Dreadnoughts behind on Nirauan. Despite it being left, the Squadron still was a powerful composition of four Resurgent-class Battlecruisers, escorting Imperator, the second of the Imperial Dreadnoughts and the first of its class. Once the operation was given the greenlight, the flotilla jumped into Dathomir's orbit.
The Emperor had personally come with Admiral Auguste Rendrake to witness the operation with his own eyes. The successful testing of the MegaCaliber Six walker on Adumar had encouraged further testing of new Imperial war technology. Dathomir would witness such tests with the Mandator IV-class Dreadnought and a few other notable war machines. From the bridge of the Imperator, Nicademus gazes down at the jungle world of Dathomir, once the center of a former Imperial splinter warlord, Zsinj.
He glances over at Colonel Valen of the Braxant Legionnaires and General Tarion Tao-ni, commanding officer of the Imperial 3rd Division, which was to the main composition of the invasion force at hand. Nicademus flexes his gloved hand slightly before adjusting his posture.Make sure the burning of Dathomir is remembered by all, commanders. There was a quiet salute by his officers present before the preliminary operations began. Orders were being streamed and exchanged to the various ground units, starfighter squadrons and the vessels present. As this was done, Nicademus quietly looks down at Dathomir, hoping to see some successful tests done today.

"Speaking of late, if we do not want to be, we had best start making our way to the surface had we not?" As if on cue the multicolored swirls of hyperspace outside the docking bay turn into the starscape above Dathomir. You couldn't ask for better timing. A great grin crosses the Imperial Knight's face as he braces himself and throttles up fully, shooting the shuttle out of the hangar at nearly full speed. Anyone in the shuttle who hadn't been ready would have likely been tossed all around in ways they weren't expecting. YAHHOOOO!!! Brock screams as he flies the shuttle out recklessly making the way toward the planet ahead of most of the other landing craft, sometimes it was good to be outside the normal chain of command. The shuttle made it's way down into the atmosphere, hitting more reasonable speeds as it begins reentry.

Admiral Rao had been sitting aboard the bridge of The Spear of Kro Var. Examining daily reports and studying the current layout of the fleet. Set up such that the fleet was arrayed between the two Cardan III space stations. Providing something of a defence mesh over the Fortress and Outpost. The two main hubs of power upon Dathomir. Creating a sense of security and serenity.
Both of which were shattered mere moments later as four Resurgent-class Battlecruisers and a giant Dreadnought of unknown make dropped from hyperspace. Rao had read the intelligence reports on the Resurgents. Giant battlecruisers that were this Empire's improved version of an Imperial Star Destroyer. The four of them alone would have posed quite the challenge for his fleet. But he might have been able to overcome them. But staring down the Dreadnought, which must have been almost twice the size of the Resurgents, was something akin to frightening for him Raise shields, arm the cannons and get targeting solutions on those ships! I want alerts sent to the Fortress and Alliance command! And get me a line to those vessels! Orders were relayed across the ships. With each crew quickly getting to work raising the shields whilst arming their cannons. Meanwhile, alerts were sent to the surface and out into deep space toward Mon Calamari. Admiral Rao collected himself, moving to the main control console as a communication line was opened with the First Order ships Unidentified First Order ships, you have entered Galactic Alliance space. I suggest you turn your giant, ugly ass pizza ships around and take your leave of this place. Otherwise, I might have to mess your day up by blowing them into space dust...

Unidentified First Order ships, you have entered Galactic Alliance space. I suggest you turn your giant, ugly ass pizza ships around and take your leave of this place. Otherwise, I might have to mess your day up by blowing them into space dust... Your Majesty, we are being hailed by Galactic Alliance vessels.Sensors are reading a flotilla off portside of our fleet. Twelve ships counted and two defense platforms, readings are Cardan III space stations. The communication came from a Nebula-class Star Destroyer, likely the flagship.Nicademus turns to the left, able to visibly see the formation off to the side of the fleet. The Galactic Alliance dared to challenge them it seems... they will be taught a fearful lesson in slaughter and to once more instill the power of the First Order in their enemy. The Emperor does not even bother replying to the communication from the GA flagship. His eyes were immediately on the communication's officer. His gloved finger points directly at the flotilla.Prepare the autocannons to fire, ensign. Have targeting algorithms aim for the space station to the left of the formation.Yes, Your Majesty! In the silence that followed the transmission, the crew of the Imperator got right to work. Klaxons blared within the hangar bays as pilots went to their stations and gunnery crews loaded the main arsenals of the First Order warships. The autocannon crew, within the bowels of the Mandator IV, began warming up the main power source for the autocannons. Sensors of the Galactic Alliance warships would detect the movement of the gargantuan autocannons angling to fire at the space station that was the designated target. Slowly, the other Resurgents began to adjust their trajectory away from Dathomir, aiming to their point their prows at the defending fleet.
On the bridge of the Imperator, officers and bridge crew were reporting the status of starfighter squadrons and the powering of the autocannons. Nicademus gazed directly at the enemy vessels as the dreadnought turned a full ninety degrees, its dagger prow pointed directly at the enemy flotilla.Sire! The autocannons are at full power! Trajectory adjusted and ready to fire on your command! There was not a single hesitation in his command.OPEN FIRE!From beneath the vessel, two autocannons flared to life with red orbs lighting up its firing chambers. The silence of space engulfed the firing sound of the massive weaponry, but the dreadnought slightly shuddered as six rounds were fired off. They streaked past the fleet, narrowly missing a Corona-class frigate. One round splashed against the Cardan space station, a second caused them to buckle, a third smashed through what remained of the shields while the rest tore the station apart.
The left side of the fleet light up brightly as the station vanished in a chain reaction, resulting a massive explosion. With a reply clearly sent to the Galactic Alliance ships, the Emperor gives a general order to advance. The four Resurgents began to lumber forward as swarms of starfighters were released, with the flight of TIE Silencers remaining hidden for now on the Imperator.

The fleet was busy making its preparations as Admiral Rao waited to hear a response from the First Order. Shields were starting to come online to full strength as the opposing fleet started to turn to face them head on. Alerts sounded as the sensors picked up the energy readings from the Dreadnoughts cannons. Rao moved to the front of the bridge then. Watching as the cannons fired three rounds each at the Cardan III space station. His face seeming to drop as the rounds grazed one of the Corona's and tore apart the space station. Its shields doing little to provide it protection.
The First Order most certainly had given their response. And it was of power and fearlessness. They had their newest toy that could tear through a defence station in one barrage. Now, the First Order would be nearly unstoppable. There was nothing they could do to stop such carnage. All Rao could hope for, was to delay them, until reinforcements arrived or evacuations could be completed. The crew on the bridge was already reporting the loss of the station, along with a damage report from the Corona. Alarms were ringing across the fleet as the crews waited orders Sir! What are our orders?
fire... FIRE! All commands are to fire at will, pick a target and bring it down! Scatter the fleet, those cannons are damned near unstoppable! The Spear of Kro Var started firing its bow thrusters to move it up and away from its former position as the cannons started to fire upon the Dreadnought. The remaining Cardan III remained in its position as it too unleashed a barrage upon the Dreadnought. The rest of the fleet moved in various directions as they fired upon the Resurgents. Hoping to break through their shields as the cannons alternated between ion and turbolaser fire

Nicademus watched as the fleet began to expand its formation, it seemed the firing of their autocannons had a psychological effect on the psyche of the naval commanders and crews. The Emperor looks down at the holomap, situated in the middle of the bridge, as indicators showed the placements of vessels and their formations. The First Order kept its disciplined formation, a row of teeth with the Mandator IV in the center, two Resurgents in forward positions as the edge of the teeth and two more parallel to the Emperor's flagship.
Nicademus examines the map carefully. Though the Galactic Alliance fleet was expanding its formation, they still had quite a number of vessels, another space station, and squadrons at their command. The Emperor then looks up at the Admiral of this task force.
Attempt to draw them towards us, begin a slow retreat. We want to be out of range for that space station till the autocannons are recharged. Have the Resurgents fire their long-range turbolasers at the Majestics and that Acclamator-class.
By your will, Majesty.
With the starfighters held back in reserve for now, the Resurgents began following the orders of their Emperor. Long-ranged turbolasers going active seconds later as green beams fired off, able to hit shields from their distant position. Such weapons were a strain on most power sources, but thanks to the First Order technology, they weren't as much of a strain as before.
What's the word on the autocannon recharge?
Cannons will be operable in ten minutes, Sire. Targeting is off-line till then.
Continue with long-range fire. Let's see what they do next.

As the First Order ships moved in reverse, Admiral Rao ordered the fleet to move forward. While the Resurgents had long range turbolasers, his ships did not. And waiting for that monstrosity to recharge its cannons was not an option. The starfighter squadrons started deploying from their various ships to make runs toward the Dreadnought. Their aim was to try and take it down first, then worry abut the Resurgents. The remaining Cardan III meanwhile directed more power towards its turbolasers, hoping to reach the withdrawing fleet

Nicademus watched with great appreciation that the Admiral had fallen for his trap, following his ships as they began a retreat. He waited a few moments later, waiting to ensure they were drawn in more before snapping the noose around the fleet's neck. His eyes watched the holomap, seeing the formations before turning to his communications officer.
Order the ships to turn their prows! All firepower on the enemy's flanks!
Suddenly, the four Resurgents turned to have their prows face the enemy fleet head-on by its flanks. Shields were heightened on the sides of the vessels facing the space station and along the prows of every ship. Once they had all turned, the commanders gave their orders and firepower was unleashed onto the Galactic Alliance fleet from all sides.
Status on the autocannons!
Five minutes and counting!

Rao had a suspicion the First Order had been up to some kind of trick. And while he had sprung the trap if only to find out what it was, he’d been given precious little else. The Resurgents had a longer reach than anything his fleet had been carrying. Meaning they were flying straight into the lions jaw as the ships turned and fired upon the defenders. Several ships succumbed to immediate reactor damage. While others managed to divert their shields. Suffering a number of holes in their hulls. Venting atmosphere and crew members into the vacuum of space around them.
The Spear of Kro Var kept its course toward the Dreadnought. Rao’s face an expressionless mask as he made up his mind to go all in on this. The ships engines pushing the craft on a collision course towards the bridge of the enemy ship. The wounded vessels doing their best to provide cover as the suicide run began...

Nicademus watched patiently at the oncoming vessel. A suicide run? It seemed like it. The Emperor turns to the officer who was examining the charging rates of the autocannons... Nicademus would give the enemy officer what he wanted; a swift death. The officer notices the gaze of the Emperor and bows his head.
Sire, the autocannons are ready to fire on your mark.
Nicademus slowly turns his gaze back to the Spear of Kro Var. His gloved hand pointing directly at the oncoming ship.
Blast it out of the sky!
He slashes his hand through the air, giving the order. The autocannons adjusted their trajectory below before the muzzles flared with a brilliant red glow. Six rounds fired off, going straight for the Galactic Alliance flagship.

Admiral Rao crosses his arms behind his back as he noticed the auto cannons adjusted their aim. It was all over in a flash of white light and heat as the Spear of Kro Var was reduced to basic elements as the reactor exploded in a chain reaction. The rest of the fleet soon followed suit as their shields were breached by the overwhelming firepower of the First Order fleet.
Soon the Defense station was all that remained. But one more strike from the auto cannons would take care of that. Leaving Dathomir undefended from an invasion

It did not take long for the lone defense station to be torn to shreds as long-range turbolasers sliced through its shields. In the end, a salvo from the Imperator finished the job, engulfed within a giant fireball. With the space above Dathomir cleared, the Imperial fleet moves closer to the planet. Moments after the battle over the planet ended, swarms of transports began to descend upon the planet. A full legion, or more, of Stormtroopers and mechanized divisions, were unleashed onto the planet.

After making multiple jumps from different worlds based on Vasari's coordinates, they finally arrived over Dathomir. It did provide a slight twinge of frustration that they needed to do so many jumps just to divert attention from their possible destination, she allowed it to pass, knowing that this mission was an important one to her friend. And whatever it took to make this a success, she'd step up to the task.
Sitting back chair, she looked at the world before her as they approached it. Never had she been here before and was curious as to what awaited them. "So this is your home?"

Vasari slipped her feet up onto the chair of the shuttle's main console and rested her head on her knees as they made their approach to the planet. There was no formal defense - the First Order had placed clan leaders in charge that were loyal to their cause and they only monitored certain routes on and off the planet, and the spaceport. None of which they would be using. Their destination was a few miles outside the ruins and remains of the star temple. Hopefully the old facility that Maul had used was still in place and that would give them a good place to start looking for the book.
"I was born here... This is not my home."
She muttered a little more defensively than she had at first intended, there was a dark light in her eyes and she was fidgeting with the ring on her finger. It seemed to already have had an influence on her, even after the few short days that they had spent in space. The shuttle had performed its purpose well and as far as she could tell they had arrived on Dathomir clean - and now as they were descending towards the planet she felt the weight of her choices pressing upon her chest, and it was making it difficult to breath.
"I dont know what is down there Lux... I dont know what we're going to be up against. If the Sisters discover that I am after the book they will try to stop me. And that means facing Magic that you've never seen, and that i've only begun to learn of."

Luxeria's eyes shifted as she caught the movement of her friend. Just in the action alone said volumes of her option of this place and the idea of it being her home. This was further confirmed by her words, which made Luxeria smile a bit. She saw it as a good sign, believing that in the end, her place within the Blackguard now meant more than this place and the mission given to her a long time ago.
Her eyes then shifted to the ring she fidgeted with. Luxeria had noticed a slight change in Vasari though she had yet to grasp what it was or how to describe it. For now, it was more aligned to a gut feeling more than anything else. But the thought was quickly pushed aside as her eyes directed themselves forward once more as the Zabrak spoke what they may encounter. It was something to be cautious of, perhaps even fear. But after all she had experienced without knowledge or experience to endure, Alzoc III, Mustafar, Pzob, Anzat, there was one thing that had taken shape in the woman's mind: the pointlessness of being afraid of the unknown. She was cautious, to be sure, but afraid was something she no longer was. She had become confident in her growing abilities and knew that if she remained calm and focused and trusted in her abilities, that would be all she'd need. But in that moment, there was another reason for that lack of fear. "It really doesn't matter. We have an important task that needs to be done. I will have your back and I will ensure that we both make it back alive, no matter what. If they come, then so be it. To make sure you get what you seek, I'll face any challenge."

The trip to Dathomir was a relatively smooth and quiet one. Luxeria had mostly stayed to the cockpit if only to continue preparing herself to set foot upon the world once more. Any entertaining had been handled by Kozrezic. If anything, it proved to be good training for the Twi'lek. She desired to be a seductress and manipulator just as she was. That meant being a people person and learning how to slip into any situation as a valued person. This would show how well the girl could connect to the others in such a short amount of time.
Sitting there with her eyes closed, she was alerted by Satele of their arrival. Powering down the hyperdrive, they made the return to realspace, the planet looming before them. A slight growl emanated from her throat as she gazed upon the floating orb in front of her. To think the last time she was here, she had to face down the Nightsisters before, this time she was working to make them their alleys so to control the planet. It had belonged to the First Order then. Now it would become one with the Blackguard.
Shaking her head, she summoned Elarinya and the others to the lounge where she would discuss the mission with the rest of them.

After Kree had shown them to their rooms, Ela had taken advantage of the flight time from Eriadu to Dathomir to get some much needed rest. She had been bettered and bruised by her crash landing upon Eriadu, and had managed to recover somewhat on a combination of adrenaline and the Dark Side. Using it to fuel her body through meeting with Malvus, finding out about the Orzi, and then starting upon this mission. She had collapsed into the bed and slipped into a deep sleep, one which Maethoriel had kept a constant watch over her during.
It wasn't until they came out of hyperspace that she awoke properly, feeling refreshed at long last. Her gaze fixed upon the Zeltron Blademaster, unaware the other woman had spent the last however long observing her. But before she could say anything, Luxeria's voice came over the comm, summoning them to the lounge. Ela, who had shifted her gaze to the comm speaker, turned back to Maethoriel It would seem our host requests our company...
Yes it would... I suppose we should go meet her in the lounge...
That would be advisable, given she may have use of the both of us in what ever is going on... Ela nodded as she pushed herself up and off the bed. The weight of the two sabers upon her hips felt strange and was a reminder that she was indeed now armed. She strode out of her room close behind Maethoriel as the pair headed into the lounge and took a seat each, waiting for their host to detail just what they were doing and where they were
