Status: Completed
Effect: Galactic
Placement: After the Battle of Naboo
Title Of Event: Signing of the Treaty of Manaan
Summary Of The Event: Manaan was to witness a strange event that would shape the galaxy's course to come. It was an especially strange event when both Imperial and Galactic Alliance vessels dropped in orbit, but did not fire upon each other. After months of private negotiations between these two warring states, an agreement had been made between the two opposing leaderships to meet on the neutral world of Manaan to sign a treaty to end the Third Galactic Civil War. Enough battles and losses had been committed and both nations desired peace. Negotiations were done with the Ahto High Council, the new and native leadership of Manaan, with the Selkath councilors serving as arbiters in this matter. Once the green light was given by the native leaders, a date was picked and arrangements were made.
The treaty dictated terms of various natures such as trade agreements, political restrictions, reassurances, and the likes. The most important of these details requested the withdrawal of Galactic Alliance and Jedi forces from the Dantooine system, which would be handed over to the First Order, in exchange for the planet of Jabiim. A planet that rested in the notable Triellus Trade Route and sat upon Mon Calamari's frontyard.
Among other details was the request of acknowledgement on First Order dominance over the Hydian Way and taxation on Galactic Alliance trade within the Core regions. After all, Taris and Brentaal IV, planets that sat upon vital trade junctions, were in the hands of the First Order. Trade routes that the Galactic Alliance surely needed to access the Corellian planets and other worlds within its grasp.
As with the First Order's proposals, the Galactic Alliance sought similar trade restrictions, reassurances, and other such matters. Whereas the First Order plan outlined specifics for a trade of planets, the Galactic Alliance treaty outlined details on a prisoner exchange program, as well as accords to outlaw the use and production of chemical agents.
