So, with all of the wandering of JvS I have done today, I wanted to pose a question and get some feedback.
I know that RL comes first, as it should.
But what is the acceptable time frame to wait before pushing ahead with an RP?
I honestly have no answer to my own question at this point, so I figured I'd pick the brains of the community as a whole and see what everyone thinks, and if there is a specific amount of time that seems to be the generally agreed upon allotment.
Let's head what you've got!

It honestly depends upon the individuals writing, and the scope of the SL. If it's a small story with just one other writer I'll wait indefinitely. In bigger SL's one to three days has been my experience. (not that I've been terrible active of late)

I could point out the irony of this being about waiting periods, and how long this has waited...
At any rate, I'm kind of with Mahir on this point. It's all very situational. It's usually best to kind of work out people's availability and make a decision from there. The flip side, is that you have to be honest with yourself about how much free time you can dedicate to something before hand. And then just making sure that if things come up unexpectedly, you keep in contact with those involved and let them know what is going on. Sometimes in bigger SLs, you jut have to set a deadline or two for yourself, and then make a hard decision if you miss them about whether you want to keep trying to hit a new deadline, or drop out and let someone else take over for you for the sake of the SL moving on.
