The Exar-class Star Destroyer, named after the legendary Sith Lord, Exar Kun, is a 1,000 meter long Star Destroyer, designed off of the Voidstar dreadnought, a prototype vessel of the resurgent Sith Empire from the Great Galactic War Era. A part of the Spiran Reforms, an effort to modernize the Blackguard’s navy with a heavy focus on smaller and faster warships, this pocket Star Destroyer will serve as a means to combat the recent addition to the First Order, the Turbulent-class Star Destroyer, and long time favorite of the defunct Republic, the Nebula-class Star Destroyer. With this focus in mind, this warship was created and thus added to the trio of new vessels crafted by the reform.
The Exar-class Star Destroyer, though slower than its sisters, the Kressh and Nihl-classes, supports greater firepower and starfighter capabilities, but lacks in the troop transport capacity. In total, the arsenal of this warship includes 40 heavy turbolaser batteries, 40 turbolaser cannons, 20 ion cannons, 8 proton torpedo tubes, and 8 tractor beam projectors. Each single battery consists of 6 individual cannons. It carries a complement of 60 starfighters and a total of 1,600 troops for ground operations.
