*Felucia's terrain consisted mostly of a diversity of bizarre plants, fungi, and animals which were almost rubber-like and translucent, as well as enormous Pitchers. When the sun shone, the environment glittered like multicolored glass. Most of Felucia was entirely covered by a humid, fetid landscape of huge fungal forests, inhabited by Acklays and other strange beasts.*

*Freedom, sweet freedom. She was home now, where she belonged. Nothing was targeting her, nothing was chasing her for her life. Well, not yet anyway, and usually it was easy to avoid or persuade to leave her alone if it was a creature of Felucia. But there was no darkness here, no corrupting entity. Just her and her brother, her pet Lokay, and her new pet Rush.
She had led the two of them from the base's hangar and into the jungle, figuring Rush needed to get used to his new home if he was going to be her newest companion. Hopefully it wouldn't be too much of a separation; Haruun Kal and Felucia were both jungle worlds and both pretty warm, the only difference was the flora and fauna. Hopefully that would make it easy for him to adjust.
That, and she had wanted reason to not just settle down with nothing to do just yet. That would mean she'd have nothing to do but think about what she'd just been through, and she didn't want to. She'd had enough time to do that on the ride home, as she recounted her story to Bix and Jake in the shuttle. Right now, she wanted to get her mind off of it, and to do that, she could spend time in the place she loved most, with her beloved brother and her now-two wonderful pets.
It was working. Morgan was taking in the sunlight and the warmth and simply enjoying the beauty of the planet. It helped to watch Rush's curious reactions and investigations of the area, running up to sniff a new plant form, tilting his head as he heard the cry of some bird or screech of some distant predator. She would smile and laugh and use their connection to nudge him toward one area or another to familiarize himself with the types of terrain he'd encounter.
She needed more, though. She was starting to think about Haruun Kal again. So she started to play games with her brother as Rush investigated, running between the trees as they chased each other, or raced down paths, or climbed trees and swung on vines. Lokay, who'd grown accustomed to the akk dog by now, simply perched himself upon the back of the beast, peering at his owner and her brother now and then as the big beast stayed close to them, even running alongside them as though joining in on their fun.
But she still wasn't quite satisfied yet. So she had a thought, one she wasn't sure how Jake would take, but she proposed it anyway. And when he had agreed to the condition, they had taken his pack, stuffed their clothes and equipment inside, and wrapped the bag around Rush's neck snugly. He didn't seem to object, and Morgan grinned, patting him on his scaly cheek.* Okay, Rush, you leave Lokay here and go check out the jungle, okay? But don't lose our stuff! *Her words were accompanied by nudges through their bond in the Force. She supposed the words were more for Jake's benefit than anything, though she also wished to help Rush understand human tones, and maybe some words like regular dogs did. Though dogs usually responded better to one or two words rather than whole sentences...
She leaned forward and reached out her arm for Lokay, who climbed up onto her shouler and perched there, nuzzling against her cheek with his beak. She giggled, and watched as Rush turned and darted into the bushes. Hopefully he'd be fine with that bag and wouldn't lose or damage it; she really did care about the items inside, since those included her Felucian outfit, bow, and her pontite lightsaber. But, she was sure they'd be fine. She always felt better in this current state anyway, she felt free, she felt natural, and allowed her to free her mind. Maybe it was a metaphor or something.
Without thinking, she began to run. Lokay nearly lost his footing, but by now he had grown used to these sudden takeoffs and simply held on, which was a little more difficult without clothing to grip onto. This felt even more free, without a care in the world. This was what she needed, and she was glad she had a brother that was okay with these things, and even shared in them. With some reluctance. But that was okay, she loved him anyway. And she loved being able to think about things other than Haruun Kal right now...*

*Jake had been so relieved when the shuttle had descended upon Haruun Kal and seen Morgan heading straight towards them, though he had been quite surprised at the large red beast she was perched upon. But as soon as the creature had leapt aboard the ship, Morgan had launched herself into his arms, and immediately he could feel her need for human comfort, and so he had done nothing but sit there and hold her as she clung to him and wept.
Then she'd told him and Bix everything, and immediately he understood why she had been so distraught. He had said nothing though; he instead asked about the new creature, and Morgan, seemingly eager to get her mind off what had happened, introduced the beast to him. He was an akk dog, Rush was his name. Morgan had bonded with him in the jungle and was bringing him home, and he had saved her life. Jake immediately had proposed that they take him into Felucia's jungle once they got home to familiarize him with his new home.
And now here they were. Bix had gone back into the base, letting them know he'd tell their father where they were once he got home, and the two children and the akk dog and the tailring had headed out into the wilderness. Morgan seemed to be enjoying herself as she accompanied Rush, teaching him about the world in her own way. He smiled, though was still getting used to the creature himself. He was large, scaly, his teeth were huge... Good thing Morgan had had him take Jake's scent so he wouldn't ever turn on him.
Then they played tag, and ran, and climbed trees. Jake always enjoyed these activities. But it was what Morgan had proposed next that made him pause. Was she really saying what he thought she was saying? Well, it wasn't like they hadn't done that before, though what Morgan was proposing seemed to be giving them even more freedom... Jake was always nervous about these sorts of things, especially if there was a slight chance he'd be seen... or worse, losing his clothes. But, he agreed to it, and after a moment, like usual, he was good.
Morgan suddenly began to run. Grinning, Jake ran too, doing his best to keep pace with her; she was still slightly faster in the jungle, but he was starting to learn the terrain himself as well. She was enjoying herself, he could tell, and he just wanted to make sure she stayed that way, if it meant she didn't have to think about what she'd been through before. He just hoped nothing bad happened to them here and now...*

The smooth surface of the lake mirrored the sunlit sky, royal and robin's egg blue mingling above. Clean air, rife with fresh scents, brushed across her skin and into her lungs with every slow breath she took. Coolness seeped up from the ground beneath her crossed legs, creeping into her bare soles and through her olive drab cargo pants. A playful breeze flipped a strand of brown hair into her face and toyed with the long braid down her back. Noises from the creatures in the jungles tickled at her ears but not once did her sharp eyes open to find the creatures that made them. For once, in a very, very long time, Adelle could meditate peacefully. And after Coruscant, she needed this.
Violent eyes, screams of the dying. Fire in her body. Her mind twisted, lost, crashing in on itself.
Adelle took another deep breath, the images dissipating like dust blown away by the wind. The Force was a river, a life-giving current, empowering her and her mind, smoothing over her imperfections. She could feel its curves around her, the ripples from other beings, and faintly, the undercurrent of a familiar presence. Adelle smiled but did not stand as she would have weeks ago to seek Morgan out. One, she was still far too sore and she was comfortable here, and two, Morgan would find her, she was sure. The child usually had.

*Jake was keeping up? Not if Morgan could help it. With a giggle, she darted behind a tree, skipping over roots and trying to slow Jake down, but not lose him entirely. She felt Lokay's claws tighten into her shoulder as he tried to hold on without fabric to grip, and realized this was a bad idea for both of them; not only might Lokay fall off, even though he could still fly after her, but he might inadvertently draw blood. So, abandoning her tactic, she slowed down to a regular run, emerging back onto the path, running at the pace she was before, where Lokay could still hang on comfortably.
This path was leading to somewhere familiar. Good, she knew exactly where to lead Jake, then. Besides, it meant one more thing she could do to keep her mind off of things. The path twisted and turned, but Morgan kept her footing and her pace hardly slowed down at all. A few more minutes, and they'd be there. She wondered if Rush would like it there, too; she could sense him still off in the jungle, but still close enough to pounce in at any moment at her call. Certainly he would enjoy it, or at least she hoped.
Ten more yards. Five. She then burst through the brush, scampered to a halt, and stood still, panting slightly as she stared out at the familiar lake with a grin. It was all so beautiful, the trees surrounding the body of water, the flowers, the faerie rings, the Mama, the—* Mama?! *That was even better! Her own mother—other mother, that was—was here too, and they could spend time together, and talk, and play, and Morgan was completely naked right now.* Um... hi! *Morgan wasn't sure how to explain this one. Skinny-dipping was easy, but streaking through the jungle? She was sure Kory wouldn't mind, but it was still a bit silly and partially embarrassing. ... and that was to say nothing of Jake, who would have burst through the bush beside her right after she did. This... this would be funny. Was that mean? Nah, it was silly, and just more to help keep her mind off of things.*

*Oh, his sister was mischievous. Jake saw what she was doing, trying to slow him down by going off the path. He smirked and chased after her, leaping over the protruding roots, only losing a little speed. But she soon went back onto the path instead of staying off of it. For what reason, Jake was not sure. Was she just messing with him? Ah well, that was fine. Jake only smiled and got back onto the path, keeping up with her as they ran down the path.
Ah, they were heading toward the lake. That would be nice. He could use a little swimming himself, plus that would open up a whole new activity to help Morgan stay at ease. So he picked up the pace, trying to keep up with her they encroached upon the area. Then he burst through the bush just behind her, stopping beside her, panting and trying to regain his breath, again finding himself envious of his sister's improved endurance upon the planet.
It wasn't until she spoke that he knew there was something new here.
Immediately he looked up, spotting the woman instantly. Kory... Morgan's "mother," at least according to her. She was a nice lady, and a pretty one in Jake's opinion. He had to admit to himself he had become a bit smitten by her. He started to smile at her... ... then he remembered that he wasn't wearing a single thing right now.* Oh— er— uh— *What'd he do?! His mind was battling with itself right now. The main, sane part was telling him to hide, duck into the bushes, crouch down, or at the very least use his hands to cover himself. But there was another part that, for the moment, was dominating his mind, telling him that this was his chance to show off, to try to impress the girl he liked, and so he, stupidly, listened to this portion of his brain, standing up straight, putting his hands on his hips, and trying to put on a sly smile that instead looked rather goofy.* Hey there, Kory. *A brief moment passed, and then Jake was suddenly in the bushes. When his head peeked out of them, it was redder than a cherry. This was silly. This was stupid. Where was Rush with their clothes?! Oh no, he hadn't run away with them, had he?! This was awful! Was this all a dream? He hoped it was all a dream. People had dreams they were in public naked right? This was just one of those, right? He sure hoped so... Slowly, his head retreated into the bushes. Nope, not a dream. And he'd just embarrassed himself in front of the woman of his dreams. Ugh, this wasn't very good at all...*

Adelle smelled Morgan's distinct scent long before she heard the cacophony the child's motions created, a sweet earthy smell at once similar and separate from the landscape around her. The fresh scent of sun-warmed cotton followed it; she should've guessed Jake was with her. A smile touched at the corner of her lips. Those two were bound to be doing something they didn't want the adults to see. This would be interesting. Adelle stood up, less fluidly than she would've liked to, and waited for Morgan to come running out of the trees. The child did, as clothed as one of the beasts of the jungle. Jake ran out right behind her, similarly dressed. Not surprising, really.
"Mama?!"
She grinned from ear to ear. Force, that word still sounded weird to her ears.
"Um... hi!"
"Oh— er— uh— Hey there, Kory."
Aaaaaand there was Jake. His smooth recovery and bold stance quickly gave way to bashful hiding. Adelle laughed, her side splitting with pain but she couldn't stop laughing. Once her laughter subsided, she eased back down to the ground to sit. Much easier on her recently battered body.
"Have I spoiled your fun?" she asked Morgan playfully.

*... oh Jake. Morgan knew he had a bit of a crush on Kory, which... was a little weird, considering Morgan considered her to be her mother, and Jake was her brother, so... But Morgan thought it was silly anyway, and this was no less funny. And relieving. Morgan giggled, and allowed herself to giggle harder when she saw Kory laughing as well. Laughter was the best medicine, as they said, and right now it was true healing. Poor Jake... but it was just so silly!
As Jake fully retreated into hiding, Morgan started to approach Kory at a run, but her senses soon perceived that she was in a bit of pain and she slowed down. That was right, she had gone off on that dangerous quest, and she was back now! That almost made Morgan pick up the pace again, but she didn't want to hurt her, so she slowed down once more to a normal walk. When asked if Kory had spoiled their fun, Morgan giggled and shook her head, closing the distance and gently wrapping her arms around the woman.* Not at all! I'm so happy to see you, Mama! *Mama... it seemed so shortly ago that Morgan had dubbed Kory with this title, but it was one that fit. They loved each other that much, didn't they? And Morgan couldn't think of anyone else to be her mother. Well, other than Felucia itself, of course. Morgan gently held onto Kory a little bit longer before stepping back, glancing in Jake's direction, tittering, and looking back at Kory.* Did you beat the bad guy, Kor— I mean Mama? Are you okay? *She was going to Coruscant to find some bad guy, wasn't she? Morgan thought she was, anyway. As for whether or not she was okay... well, Morgan could tell Kory was in some slight pain, but couldn't see the extent of that. If she was here, in the jungle, she must have been okay. At least, okay enough to risk coming out here, or to maybe go looking for Morgan? She was just in time, then; after Haruun Kal— Nope, Morgan didn't want to think about that right now. Maybe later.*

Morgan's arms encircled her and Adelle reached out with her good arm to return the hug. "I'm happy to see you too, dear."
"Did you beat the bad guy, Kor— I mean Mama? Are you okay?"
Adelle let her hand slowly drop as she stared out at the lake. That was why she was out here; trying to heal the new damage done to her mind. Had she found the being responsible for her abuse and kidnapping? Yes. Had she killed him? Yes. But had she truly beaten the "bad guy?" She wasn't sure. There were too many painful memories for her to sift through rationally and analyze, too many moments she wanted to forget. And the second question was no more easily answered. No, she was not okay. Her body ached from the torture she'd been put through. Cracked ribs were still healing, her broken leg barely mended whole again, the gashes above her left hip and below her right arm still flared angrily, and the cuts on her face still felt raw. Worse was the mental damage. The addiction newly fed; the paranoia; the heart-shatteringly clear memories. Nightmares frequented her at night and haunted her during the day. It would be a long, slow road to recovery and patience was not her virtue.
"I'll be okay," Adelle said with a tight smile. It sounded more confident than she felt.

*Now that Morgan was closer to her, she could see the damage more clearly. Kory also had only hugged her back with one arm. The damage must have been worse than Morgan realized. She frowned briefly, waiting for Kory's answer. When it came, it was even more concerning. She wasn't okay, but she would be. Well, that was fine, but she also hadn't answered Morgan's question: If she got the bad guy. But there was also a lot of strange and twisted feelings about Kory, ones Morgan didn't want to pry into.
Whatever she had been through, it was at least just as traumatizing as Morgan's own journey.
Funnily enough, it seemed that neither of them wanted to share details of their most recent "outings." Well, Morgan sure took after her mother, didn't she? Maybe it was time to change the subject then. Kory may have been in an injured state, but Morgan was confident she was just fine in what she was about to do. Smiling, she took one step back.* Well, Mama, I'd like you to meet a friend of mine. *Morgan extended her senses outward; good, Rush was pretty close by. She nudged him through the Force, beckoning him to her location. Barely two seconds later, the large, red, scaly quadruped burst through the bushes, bounding up beside Morgan and skidding to a halt, sitting down on its hind quarters obediently and panting, though it observed Kory closely with its eyes. Morgan watched him with a grin, then looked at Kory again, gesturing at the akk dog.* This is Rush! I just met him on Haruun Kal, and brought him home with me, and now he's my pet! *... she'd mentioned Haruun Kal. No doubt Kory would notice and ask what she was doing there. Morgan's expression faltered for a brief moment, but she forced it away. Briefly her eyes flickered to Jake's pack, wrapped snugly—but not too tightly—around the akk's neck. Any moment now, Jake would probably run out and grab his clothes, or at least request them. Well, guess that canceled swimming. She allowed herself to give into the humor of that thought and titter softly, before watching Kory for a reaction.*

A dog. Adelle valiantly hid her grimace. Of all the things Morgan could bring to her, it had to be an animal. She had the worst luck with beasts on a good day and her patience was sorely lacking today, despite her previous meditation. But, for Morgie's sake, she would grin and bear it. When the dog showed up, Adelle smiled genuinely. Something trembled beneath Morgan's mental surface when she explained where she had gotten the dog from but Adelle did not pry. The girl would open up to her when she felt like it.
"And has he been a good boy?" she asked, holding her left hand palm up for the dog to sniff and get used to her. Her arm tensed, just in case Rush decided her fingers looked tasty. Easy, Adelle. They can sense emotions. Her muscles relaxed a bit, but only a bit. She still had terrible luck with the beasts.

*Morgan watched Kory's reactions as Rush appeared. In retrospect, she wondered if this was a good idea, springing Rush on her so suddenly like that; after all, last time there an animal suddenly burst through into the lake area, it had Morgan in its sights and gored Kory's leg. Morgan winced slightly, but fortunately, Kory was reacting well, asking if he'd been a "good boy" while tentatively extending her hand for the akk to take her scent. Morgan nodded.* Yeah! Very good! If it weren't for him, I wouldn't have gotten away, and... *She trailed off, smile fading as her gaze lowered to the ground. Great, she was starting to think about Mesh again. This wasn't the time. She looked away, then towards Rush, who Morgan quickly gave a nudge through the Force to be very gentle and very good to Kory, since she was Morgan's mother. Rush watched the hand, then leaned forward, extending his tongue and licking the hand, lapping the scent toward his nostrils. That done, Morgan smiled and wrapped her arms around Rush's scaly neck, and he panted happily.* He really loves me, even though we only met today. And I love him too. He's a like a big lizard dog almost, and he may not be as soft, but he's still cuddly! *Morgan snuggled the akk and kissed him above his eye before releasing him and looking at Kory curiously. She wanted to sit on her lap, or at least next to her, but she knew she was also in a bit of pain as well and didn't want to risk hurting her more, even if it was just a little. Morgan hesitated, even seeming to jolt slightly as she made a fraction of a movement then halted herself. Then she looked into those two-toned eyes of her mother's with her own emerald ones.* Mama, would it hurt if I sat next to you?

She smiled again as the akk licked her hand. Hooray for one small triumph and not getting mauled! Adelle met Morgan's gaze, her own silently communicating that she hadn't missed the ripples disturbing Morgan's inner psyche. But with that message was also the reassurance that she would be there if and when—and only then—Morgan decided to talk to her.
"Mama, would it hurt if I sat next to you?"
Adelle took a deep breath, testing the pain in her side as her muscles expanded. The wound throbbed but it was nowhere near reaching her pain threshold. Moving her hand from the akk dog's snout to invite Morgan, she said "No, not at all."
She paused. "Although I think Jake might be getting a little uncomfortable hiding behind those bushes."

*The look Kory gave Morgan said it all, that she knew there was something bothering Morgan, but would not pry, just like Morgan was not going to pry into subjects Kory wanted to keep to herself right now. Morgan's head dipped in the slightest of nods, but she would definitely be telling Kory all about this later, because she deserved to know, and Morgan would feel comfortable telling her about everything. And her father too...
She then watched as Kory took a deep breath, most likely testing the pain, before gesturing for Morgan to join her, saying she wouldn't hurt her at all. Morgan grinned and started to walk forward, but her words about Jake being uncomfortable hiding in the bushes made her stop and think. Right, Jake, who'd just embarrassed himself in that silly little incident a minute ago. She hadn't forgotten he was around, she was just too focused on her mother and her own recent troubles. Morgan forced a slightly-embarrassed smile before going to Rush, removing the pack from around his neck and setting it on the ground. She pulled out Jake's shirt, pants, and underwear, then headed towards the bushes where Jake was hidden.* Here you go, J— *The clothes were snatched out of her hands before she could finish speaking. She stood there surprised for a moment, then giggled before heading back towards Kory, passing the pack, deciding to forgo dressing for the moment. She sat down on the ground beside her mother and gently leaned against her side as she stared out over the lake.* Mama, I'm glad you're back. I missed you...

*Just after Jake's little incident, he heard the laughter. Cheeks going impossibly redder, he buried his face in his hands, for the moment believing that could make him just disappear. He'd messed up so badly. He wondered he could sneak back to the base without anyone noticing. Well, he'd need his clothes first, but if no one noticed him, then that wouldn't really matter that much would it— What was he saying?
After a moment the embarrassment finally wore off just enough so that he could sit up straight and listen to the conversation between Morgan and the girl of his dreams. And for Rush to burst through the bushes only a few feet from where he was, startling him. Rush! His clothes! He could get them— No, then Kory would see him again. But Morgan obviously didn't care, but then again, Morgan was a girl too, and it usually wasn't a big deal between girls, but then Kory was an adult, and... He really needed to stop thinking, because he was just confusing himself.
A couple minutes later, however, Kory was mentioning Jake, theorizing he might be getting uncomfortable having to hide in the bushes. Jake perked up a little; she cared about him! A goofy smile came to his face; that meant something, right? And suddenly, he heard Morgan's voice beside him, with his clothes. Before she could finish speaking, he reached out and snatched them, then popped out of the bushes on the other side of the lake so he could dress as quickly as he could. ... he probably should have thanked Morgan, but his mind had been preoccupied at the moment.
When he was dressed, he entered the lake area again, spotting the two sitting by each other. His face was still a bit red, but he was smiling, as he passed by Rush, patting the akk on the snout, and sitting down on the ground beside Morgan. He was tempted to go around to Kory's other side, but he'd overheard the possibility of that causing some pain to the woman, and he definitely didn't want to cause her some pain. That, and he was still a little embarrassed from before, so he could settle for sitting next to Morgan, and smiling at Kory. Sheepishly.*

Morgan's body, however slight, still had weight and her fractured ribs made sure Adelle knew that. She took a controlled breath in as the contours of the child's body brushed against the gash in her side. Had she cleaned all the blood crystals out? It didn't feel like it. Something to take care of later.
"Mama, I'm glad you're back. I missed you..."
Adelle smiled. "I missed you too." Although I wouldn't have wanted you anywhere near that place.
Jake came out of hiding, clothed, and sat on Morgan's opposite side. He grinned like a cheshire cat, if a bit sheepishly. Adelle couldn't resist a lop-sided grin and reached out gingerly with her good arm to tousle his hair.
"So what brings you two out here?" A mischievous gleam shines in her eyes. "Swimming?"

*As Kory reciprocated her feelings, Morgan smiled and closed her eyes as she gently leaned into her mother. She held herself still when she could sense the twinges of pain from her mother, and didn't want to put any pressure on her. But Morgan could use some comfort, and so could her mother. Though she guessed it wasn't exactly "comfort" if it was causing her pain, but it would be at least emotional comfort, right?
She opened her eyes when she felt the movement beside her, only to see Jake sitting down next to her, smiling, but still looking a bit embarrassed. She smiled back at him, then looked behind her when she felt more movement, only to see that Kory was reaching out to ruffle his hair. Morgan looked up ath er when she asked what brought them out here, looking somewhat mischievous as she asked if it was for swimming. Morgan giggled, shaking her head.* No. Well, sorta. We were going to go swimming when we got here, at least, I'm pretty sure we were, but we saw you instead! *She paused briefly, then sat up straight, hastily beginning to clarify.* Not that you're stopping us from swimming! I was just happy to see you is all! Because I love you! *Hoping that got the point across, she settled a little, again gently resting herself against Kory's side, and continued.* But we were out here because we just brought Rush here and I was showing him his new home! He looks like he likes it, but I'm gonna have to get him to meet people so he knows to leave them alone. Unless they're bad. He'll probably stay out here most of the time though, unlike Lokay. *Speaking of Lokay, he was climbing down into Morgan's lap, then onto the ground, where he crept toward the akk dog. He was still a bit wary of the creature, but at the same time, he seemed eager to become acquainted with the big reptomammal; after all, if it was friendly and protective of Morgan, it would be protective of him too, right? Rush peered down at him, but otherwise didn't make any motions. Lokay peered back up at him, before turning around and sitting down on his haunches, at Rush's forepaws, watching the humans speak and interact.
Morgan watched him, giggled, then looked back up at Kory.* Do you wanna go swimming with us, Mama? *It was an innocent question, though Morgan was more than aware Kory might not be in the right state to go swimming. Morgan felt like she could use some time in the water herself, and she thought it would be more fun with her Mama, even if she was in a little pain. But it would be fine if she wasn't up for it. But now, was Jake up for it too? Considering a few minutes ago... Eh, he could just swim in his underwear then, if it bothered him so much.*

*Kory was smiling back at him! That took a little of the sheepishness out of his demeanor, and she even reached over to ruffle his hair! He instinctively retreated a bit, but still he appreciated the gesture. That made him feel better. She still cared about him, despite his little mix-up! ... did that mean he wasn't doing anything wrong at all? Had he retreated until he was dressed for nothing? Great, now he was just confused again. But he wasn't going to frown! Nothing was wrong, after all!
Kory then asked what brought them to the jungle, and if it was swimming. Morgan answered, explaining that that was their plan, but he frowned when he almost made it sound like they weren't going to swim anymore because Kory was there. Fortunately, Morgan cleared that up, and explained that they were here because they were showing Rush his new home. But, Jake knew, that could lead to questions, and they were ones Morgan probably wouldn't want to answer right now. Quickly he tried to think of something that could change the subject, maybe run off into the water and call her after him. Sure, this was Morgan's "mother," after all, but the last thing he wanted right now was for Morgan to relive that horrible experience again!
Luckily, though, a subject change was handled by Morgan already, asking if Kory wanted to swim with them. That could be fun... but what would Jake swim in? His birthday suit was out of the question... or was it? He didn't even know anymore. Maybe he could just sit on the bank with Rush and Lokay. Or at least Lokay; he didn't know if Rush would like water, but he knew Lokay didn't like water, unless it was rain or a shower. So he'd at least have company. Then again, it was particularly warm out today... Eh, he'd decide later.*

The bubbling stream of words seemed near endless but Adelle smiled to see Morgan in high spirits, even if she was troubled beneath the surface. And while Jake said nothing, she could feel his thoughts were just as endless and quickly shifting as Morgan's words. It took her breath away, and with it some of her energy, but oddly this arrangement was no less peaceful than when she had meditated silently by herself. She listened to Morgan chatter away, the breeze cool against her skin and the wounds on her face. They stung a bit but she had endured worse pain. Far worse. Really, it was just nice to sit and do nothing. Not meditate, not run, just nothing but sit and feel and smell everything around them.
"Do you wanna go swimming with us, Mama?"
Adelle's focus snapped forcefully back to Morgan. Swimming... She barely suppressed a shudder. She couldn't handle being submerged just yet. Hence why she was healing the slow way. Adelle forced a gentle smile and shook her head gently. "No, I'm alright. It'd be bad for the bandages."
Would that she could though. It'd help with her fractured bones.

*Morgan understood completely that her mama was in no state to go swimming, but she knew she definitely could use it herself. So, returning the smile, Morgan gently wrapped her arms around her again.* Okay, Mama. I'm gonna swim for a bit though, then we can go back to the base together! *Morgan released her and stood, starting to walk toward the lake, then stopped. Smiling to herself, she turned back toward Kory and leaned forward, kissing her on the cheek. After a giggle, she turned and ran towards the water, gesturing for her pet akk to follow her.* C'mon, Rush, let's go play! *Her words were accompanied by a mental gesture, beckoning him to join him, enticing him with the prospect of excitement. Rush turned and bounded after her, and the two of them dashed into the water together, splashing up water in all directions. Morgan laughed as she plopped down into the water, watching as Rush dashed here and there, bounding in and out of the water. Clearly, he enjoyed it. Well, that was good. She paddled and watched him, more content to enjoy his playfulness than play herself. But it didn't last too long; only a few moments later, and Rush left the water, before turning around and beginning to drink from it instead.
Well, that was fun while it lasted. Morgan glanced toward the shore to see if Jake was coming, and when it appeared he wasn't, she shrugged and continued to swim, enjoying the water. It was cool, refreshing, and relaxing; she needed this right now after her ordeals. Just a few minutes would be good. Then they could go back to the base.*
