The tarrada, also known as a tarrada cruiser, was a frigate-equivalent starship used by the Hutts. A number of cruisers were deployed at the First Battle of Vontor. During the Second Galactic Civil War, they were used in the Second Battle of Balmorra and the Battle of Kuat. Sporting minimal shielding, no fighter complement and only a handful of weapons, the Tarrada was best used in conjunction with other ships of the Hutt Fleet. Armed with half a dozen point defence laser cannons and half a dozen turbolaser batteries, the Tarrada was meant to be more of a starfighter screening vessel than a frontline warship. Carrying 150 troops for boarding actions, the Tarrada was often used to board other ships or dock with space stations.
