Maureen and the dog observed, both with about as much interest but more out of boredom. The immediate impulse Boland felt was similar to that of Laoch. And the same he held back. Morrígu stood quietly, expressing no objection. The Raven wished to end the pointless rattling and exterminate the lot of them but refrained

The woman was caught off guard by the question. All seemed fine and then it damned on her; he was asking if she approved. And the gesture was open. The Raven felt his body stiffen up, as it would before striking. The eyes he thought. He relaxed, almost hearing the woman chastise him. She thought before speaking -Morrígu- “Corruscant is an open market. And a place that I am familiar with.” Searching for words -Morrígu- “And it is a profitable place.” She quickly asserted -Morrígu- “Now Coruscant - I am uncertain if it is emotionally healthy for Maureen; she died there.” That hard point she left the ugly issue be -Morrígu- “We have ties on Kuat. Respect. And that will benefit us.” Looking around her -Morrígu- “Juvex. The place is… interesting.” Looking to her right she noticed Maureen watching them passionately absorbing every word. The massive dog sat regal, front legs crossed head up at the side. She also noticed that objects behind the girl were levitating. She was powerful indeed

Ciarán waited until it was clear that she was finished before he spoke his mind -Ciarán- “Then we have it down…. Kuat is good. And Manaan still offers sanctuary and aid….” Brows rising -Ciarán- “Corruscant is open.” Catching her eyes -Ciarán- “Juvex is a nice quite homebase.” A wide smile crossing his face “And the universe is our oyster.” Looking around he could easily pick out some remains of the Old Guard -Ciarán- “And… and if any want to tangle we can more than accommodate them.” He would have said that strictly on what they were; what he saw did not affect any of what he said, aside bolstering the declaration. He awaited the order. She required guidance, lacking a more smooth term, but the fact remained that she was the accepted CO of this gang

She spoke quickly -Morrígu- “Then what are we waiting for?” Her words were less a question than order. The Raven near answered that he was waiting for the first chance to Force lightening one of them into a barbecued human. Or maybe that stupid hound Feeling these intentions the hound reared up suddenly, hair on back standing and let out three challenging barks. Maureen stroked his back -Maureen- <<Hush....>> The beast sat back down Boland stood with Laoch smoking a cigarette. He looked to the dao as it barked but quickly back to Laoch as it settled -Boland- "Something tells me that it's time to leave...." Morrígu noticed the congregation of Selkath and walked over and addressed them -Morrígu- "We will be parting now. My valued friends." She departed on that note, meeting with the dog, girl and Boland, the latter all over to the YT-1300 Corellian light freighter. Parting gifts from Selkath were offered and cordial farewells exchanged. The four entered the ship and Boland fired up the beast. Laoch and Ciarán too were whisked on-board. All settled the ship lifted off departing Ahto City

A YT-1300 Corellian light freighter approached the busy city. It became lost among the traffic but not to fear the pilot knew exactly where he was going. The ship was quietly parked. Laoch directed Morrígu, with the Raven sitting on her shoulder, Boland and Maureen off the ship. Cú Faoil followed close behind. Laoch stopped and waited. The group gathered in a circle. Ciaran followed busily chatting on his Comm. He nodded -Ciarán- ::That's right MF, we landed. Talk to ya soon.:: With that he slammed the Comm. shut and joined the gathering

Blue-collar Selkath took to external repairs of the Utopic Vulture. A thousand 300 litre barrels of Kolto were rolled over to the ship, a gift from the Selkath. A simple illustration of the respect that the Dubh warranted on Manaan A familiar company of Selkath approached the group. These were the Selkath Elders. A solemn group, as a rule they spoke little openly, preferring actions to do the talking. They had prospered under Lord Mortus. They continued this relationship under Mortus’ chosen successor to rule, An Tiarna. And indeed they flourished. Consequently, attacks on the IF were taken as a personal slight among the elders and this reflected the opinion held by the overwhelming majority of Selkath. Moreover, An Tiarna’s scorched-earth policy tended to be directed straight at IF holdings and reflected a mindset very similar to that of the native population. In short, with all things that happened during the IF stay on the island planet measured in pros and cons the positive far outweighed the negative. And extending from that simple reality, The Old man had inspired considerable loyalty among the natives. News of his death traveled and the city mourned his loss They had, the Selkath elders, also negotiated with Ciarán. And here they met Morrígu. None of them missed that she was now head of the Dubh, IF, whatever one wished to call them. The Clann some might say. With the background etched out quite modestly and the heightened positive mood towards the aforesaid group understood, the delegation of elders approached and stood in front of the group. One of the elders, Kommentar, standing on the far left of the group felt a sudden jerk of the left knee

Boland attended to the workers delivering Kolto. He opened then directed them as they placed the barrels in the ship The regal manner of the group coming towards them was unmistakable. Morrígu stood with Laoch on her left, to her right stood Ciarán, Maureen at his left and the hound on guarding her Just when it appeared that a quiet noble gathering was about to commence, the hound noticed the.... he had no idea what it was. But it was big. And it was near the girl. The dog moved stepping in front of the little girl, feet set to spring, mouth open baring teeth it barked then growled menacingly Morrígu didn't have a chance to respond before the little girl howled -Maureen- “Cú Faoil! Sit!” The massive canine almost immediately sat, ears drawing back, tail nervously wagging but he was quiet. The hound's suspicious eyes never left the things in front of them. The child gently stroked his head and then she smiled politely at the weird looking people

Kommentar, the Selkath who had spasmed, drew a step back, both hands rising up in front of face -Kommentar- “Hhiiiiissssss!” This had the potential to spiral from a minor easily forgettable mishap into an international incident. Shak Los observing this smacked Kommentar roughly upside the head and spoke -Shak Los- "Enough!" Kommentar straightened up and was quiet. He did not take his eyes off the hound. Nor that little demon Moreon. The Selkath were far from unsophisticated. But like any sentient species they often misinterpreted other sentient species. And this child so readily controlling a beast as terrifying as this Cew Foal thing certainly seemed to illustrate some serious power -Shak Los- "Are you ok?" All awaited the response of the small one. The two men did not escape attention either. Nor did the sombre woman being forced between them. Chief she was, sothey all believed. These were Dubh alright.... Parading violent ugly pets around and their instant reaction to pretty much anything was to reach for the nearest weapon

Laoch stood stoic without a word spoken, gaze ahead unwavering but his right hand casually went under the left chest pocket of the blazer he wore. Ciarán too subtly unhooked holster eyes scanning the area around him hands going out wide and welcoming he spoke -Ciarán- "Everybody need be cool and the gang." With those words his eyes shot accusingly to his side -Ciarán- "Maureen keep that dog at bay!" Looking back across the group of Selkath -Ciarán- "We felt it would be rude as not to drop by while we are out and about for a stroll across the uni wide." Nodding upward -Ciarán- "Try and so something." At that Ciarán went silent

The Selkath listened close and indeed they relaxed. Shak Los spoke -Shak Los- "You know that if you do anything people will squeal in disapproval." And rolling past that "Then turn and make utter fools of themselves by doing exactly what they wail about you doing." She left the point lie in the air

Silence. Nothing but silence was offered to the sharp point made by the Selkath. She said simply -Morrígu- "My friend we leave warm regards with you but now must go" She turned and walked away, The Raven nestledon her shoulder. Maureen followed with The Hound in tail. Meeting up with Boland at the ship they entered

*Aydyn cast an eye over the future construction site. Another kolto filtering facility, but this one would be his. He smiled at that. In concentrated amounts, the stuff was quite deadly to him, but a potential life saver to the rest of the galaxy.
Waves lapped against his feet and he could see white fluffy clouds surging up on the horizon. It was midday, and the gleam off of the ocean was almost blinding. He adjusted the durasteel bracer along his arm. It hid his finblades from sight. For all intents and purposes, Aydyn could pass for human, as long as he didn't smile, and if you only caught him at a glance, or knew nothing about humans...
He had black hair that was cropped close to his head, except for a sharp frill along his hair line that seemed to stand straight up. Tattoos covered his body, odd symbols that seemed to twist and turn, never seeming the same the second time you looked at them. What little you could see of his skin was either bone white along his face and chest or a deep blue that melted into the black of his tattoos along his back and arms.
With eyes gleaming, duel irises of gold and red, he barked a laugh and started pointing to selkath and aqualish workers he had hired to complete the construction. They would start with laying the pipe work to pull water from the sea and move on to the processing buildings.*

*The Kolto facility was moving along. Aydyn sat with the Selkath consultants pouring over the plans for the facility. Currently the workers were forming the evaporative pools for a side business of collecting salts from the water flowing into the facility. Giant plumbling lines were being craned into the water surrounding their portion of the city. The intake valves were twice as wide as Aydyn was tall. The amount of water they could pull in was not short of amazing.
The selkath was showing Aydyn the overall process that other Kolto extraction facilities incorporated across the fringes of the city. The industrial district was chock full of the manufacturers. While Kolto med packs were not booming like the bacta industry, there were still credits to exchange. The processing was also easier to handle: just filter the water for the stuff.
From the inflow stations, the water would go through a series of several filters that first collected the zooplankton and then the phytoplankton that formed the kolto agent. The water would then go through a holding tank that irradiated the water with UV light to treat it for pathogens before entering the evaporative tanks for salt extraction.
Aydyn tapped a drawing for the next processing facility. The kolto water could be used for its healing properties itself. Aydyn's other pet project was slowly evolving in his mind. But the Selkath intruded on his reverie to explain how the filters were processed:
The zooplankton filter would be constituted into a slurry for feed in the fisheries, after being passed through several toxin screens. The phytoplankton filters would also move through several toxin screens to make sure only the kolto would be retained. Other algae could be centrifuged down for biofuels in the local shipping industry or parceled out for raging seafood industry across Manaan. They all had a various density so they could be fractioned off in layers once separated. A simple hypersaline stream from the evaporation tanks was enough to give them some encouragement in the facility.
Aydyn really appreciated the craft of using everything they could in this industry. Every by product had a place to go. There was a lovely symmetry and balance to it, much like nature, or the Force. He sighed gently with contentment, that the selkath mistook as displeasure and flinched back a bit.
Aydyn motioned for the man to continue his description. The consultant swallowed visibly, but continued to explain that they would reconstitute the kolto with a bit of acetic acid and distilled water. The kolto would be put in a dormant state with the simple solution and a little bit of salt, lipids, and sugar to make it shelf stable. This could be handled by another automated area of the processing center so it could be shipped out for distribution. The selkath pointed to a personal hanger for distribution services to land.
Aydyn nodded but asked about biofuel refinement. The selkath shrugged - all other facilities just sent the raw algae off to other refineries. Aydyn paused before asking his question. Did they have enough space to do their own refinements for biofuel as well as food processing?
The consultant blinked and made a few quick sketches on his datapad. The formation could be tight, especially when considering the safety precautions. Aydyn gave the go ahead to the cosultant to draw up further plans to synthesize the biofuel. They would need additional pools to raise the algae for abundance. The other facilities always had a smaller portion of that type of algae in their fractions - making it more profitable to send it offsite for refining.
For food processing, the consultant suggested putting the refinery on the opposite side of the salt ponds. It made sense. Keep the metabolic fuel away from the machine fuel. Aydyn offered a tight lipped smile, more to hide the plethora of needlelike teeth that filled his mouth than for any other reason.
He patted the consultant on the shoulder and gave his blessing. He had another appointment to attend.*

*Aydyn made his way to the Ahto Luxury Resorts on the east side of the city. A Berzix still held the position as owner. Aydyn bowed to the selkath as he met him in the lobby.*"Thank you for meeting with me today, Mr. Berzix."*The selkath nodded and motioned him along with two of his security officers to the elevator.*"I was honestly surprised to get your holo this morning. It isn't every day I have a young, off world entrepreneur muscle in on my business in such a polite way."*They entered the elevator and made their way to the private dining room at the top of the resort. The doors opened to reveal a dazzling white balcony that took in the vast ocean view. Palms were planted along the cantilevered deck with trickling water features flowing across the imported sand and pebbles.*"I wouldn't say "muscle in" per say." *Aydyn gave a forced chuckle, playing the game.* "More like a tangential gentleman's agreement."*Berzix nodded and gestured Aydyn to a table that overlooked the vast ocean. The table was spread with a luxurious lunch for the selkath palate. Aydyn's eyes scanned across the board and selected a choice selection of deeply red fleshed fish and popped it into his mouth. The flavor was intense, and he immediately salivated for the rest of the food on the table. His eyes dilated to take in all of the light and his surroundings.
Berzix eyed Aydyn's physical changes, mistaking the predatory reaction for disgust.*"The thunn is not for all human palates." *He laughed and clapped Aydyn on the shoulder. Aydyn had to repress a shudder to rip the selkath apart and dance in his sweet blood. He breathed in deeply to repress the instinct. Consuming one's potential business partners was only metaphorically acceptable these days. Aydyn offered another tight smile and a slight cough to hide his true intentions and continue with Berzix assumption.*"May I suggest the sola as a starter?" *He pointed a clawed hand at a stark white fleshed fish that sat on a platter taking up half the table. A whole sola? Aydyn thought as he reached for the fish flesh. Berzix had apparently flexed for this meal. Aydyn raised an eyebrow to Berzix.*"Are you trying to bribe me out of my idea?" *Berzix chuckled humorously, placing a clawed finger next to his left nostril. He was mimicking a human gesture to indicate Aydyn was correct. The selkath sat at the head of the table selecting from one or another of the crustaceans he had out.*"I took the liberty of doing some quick research on you to dissuade you from taking on my monopoly of luxury here in Ahto City. You are young and energetic, but you also seem too interested in bankrolling into the industry. A kolto facility and backing a research expedition to, what catch fish?" *The Berzix shrugged and slurpped up another bite of shellfish.*"Ah, you looked into my proclivities." *Aydyn swept his long coat out with a flourish as he sat at the table. He took another bite from the thunn, preferring the high heme content to the over fatty mass of the sola. Oh that flavor! He could use some chili and ferment, but plain was plenty for now, beggers could not be choosers after all.*"Yes, yes, you seem to be trying to bite off more than you can chew. Getting into the luxury sphere is a little high rolling for an industry man. I suppose you could manage it, but son, I don't think you want this." *Aydyn pointedly looked around the terrace and once more raised his eyebrow to the selkath. Berzix vehemently nodded.* "You would grow tired of this - leave this game to the old men. My own son is off galivanting around the industry game. Much more exciting, a far better way to cut your teeth. A good fight, a better gamble."*Ah, that was the game today: pummel the youngling, gas light him to secure your footing and make him second guess himself. Aydyn pursed his lips in contemplation. It was tricky to keep a friendly manner when you knew of the subversion. While Aydyn looked young, he was not the child as Berzix assumed.
Aydyn picked up one of the myriad of shellfish that looked something like a pectinoid. Hmm, sweet, he thought as a he chewed. Berzix seemed to be waiting for Aydyn's response. The selkath wanted to hear that he was right, the industry game was for the young adventurous folks, leave the luxuries to the old men bored and tired of the world. Aydyn didn't believe him though, yet he might need Berzix on his side, or at least not a thorn in his side.*"It's a shame we could not come to some agreement, Berzix. I should think you would still be interested in innovation and a little gamble, even in your dogged years."*Aydyn stood up from the table and gave the selkath a bow before heading towards the elevator.*"Innovation?" *Berzix looked a little surprised that Aydyn was making his way out and turning away from his hospitable spread.* "What kind of innovation are you talking about?"*Aydyn waved his hand.*"You wouldn't be interested. Just some fanciful, youthful dream." *Aydyn continued towards the elevator.
Berzix steepled his fingers and cleared his throat. The world was a bore, some innovation might be tolerable.*
"Oh get back here you young fool. Tell me your idea."
*Aydyn smiled slightly and sat back down to lay out his plans for a new spa and the submerged tap cafe. While Marea Scura would help give legitimacy to the fishery and the kolto distirbutions, some local assistance would be a great start to their further earnings.
After several hours of haggling, they agreed to start the Sub Pub and Sweet Success - Put the Frixian Shark in you to Rest - Day Spa. All the universes Ashleys could soak in kolto infused bubbles to wash their fatigues away. This would all begin in association with the resort, with a 60/40 split in proceeds for a start.
Aydyn left the hotel with a smile, a full toothy smile full of needlelike teeth.*

Aydyn checked in with the construction sites daily. To him, production felt like days away. On the west side of Ahto, the kolto extraction and processing facility was moving along. On the east side, the day spa and submerged tap cafe broke ground, so speak.
He kept busy, but he also had other designs that he would attend to today. He needed to resurrect "The Mortus."
