Unlike other ships in its class, it put greater emphasis in its speed while holding average agility and moderate offensive and defensive capabilities. To ensure it was capable of holding its own against other capital ships while deploying its fighters or to effectively disrupt and enemies retreat, it's armed with 10 light turbolaser batteries, 6 dual turbolaser cannons, 10 ion cannons, 40 dual point defense laser turrets, and 10 proton torpedo tubes. In place of carrying troops, it gained larger hangar space that allowed it to carry 96 starfighters
