Belian followed Aoife in as Hiro allowed them access. His eyes and senses were alert for anything out of the ordinary, his mind on guard. Listening to her speak in her polite tones, he felt it was too nice for the man.
As the topic of the challenge and honor came up, he thought on the Empress. He deeply respected Mariah and her beliefs, but couldn't for the life of him figure out why Hiro was being offered these things. If it was up to him, the man would have been dead, cast away, or told to prove himself. Ensuring he was at full strength with a meal and properly armed was even more beyond him.
Finally, the remark regarding his name came up. This caused him to smirk a bit, though it remained hidden under his hood. At least Aoife was able to keep the reality of caution and suspicion on the man. It certainly didn't help that Hiro admitted to it not being his real name, yet still didn't reveal what it truly was.

A familiar presence, at least Hiro, materialized on the floor next to the large man. He was only visible to Hiro, but others in the room could probably sense a vaguely recognizable and terrible aura. he smirked, his white hair hanging in front of his purple gaze. Twisting his head to the right and up, he looked at the man calling himself Hiro
"What are you doing? Whatever it is, you are doing it wrong...."
He chuckled, his tri tone echoing hollowly.
"If only these people who call themselves DJO had any idea......."

Right, right. She did mention your name if I needed anything. An honor to meet you, and you as well, Knight Gorask.
He nodded to the second individual who had been silent so far. He was willing to bet that the hooded figure was armed, but he had no intention to cause an uproar. As they entered the room he watched them, subtly observing the way they moved and the way acted. Nonchalantly, he reached into the folds of his robes as the woman spoke of his false name but continued to be courteous about offering to get him anything he needed. Curious.
Thank you. Rest assured, I have everything I need. If not... The Force will provide.
He winked at the two of them as he pulled a chunk of bread from the folds of his robes and took a bite. As he chewed and watched the facial expressions of the other two, he sensed something was... off about the two of them. Was it their demeanor, some microexpression? Or was it the fact that they came in the dead of night.
Before he could process what it meant, a slight chill crept up his spine. A presence he had not felt since.... Well, a long time. Just as he realized what was happening, he heard the voice. It echoed in his mind as if the voice was in the room with him. He could tell from the behavior of the others that they had not heard it, which was even more interesting.
Regardless, he shook his head to clear the disruption from his mind. As he was being watched he brought the bread up to his nose and gave it a sniff before frowning at it and tucking it back into his robes. The food was fine, but if he didn't give the other two a reason attribute to his sudden distraction they might take more notice.
Snapping back to the conversation at hand, he decided that if they were here for any reason beyond the one that the Empress gave them they might as well get to it.
From my short time with her, I would not deign to question her honor. It may not change anything, but I give you my word I do not wish harm upon any of those here. Now... are you going to tell me what this visit is really about?

Aoife nodded her head very slowly towards the man as he spoke. For the most part, she remained wholly quiet, as if patiently waiting for the man to speak. Even if he refused her offers, there was usually something else to be picked up, needs that were not communicated. However, Hiro was a rare breed, and the woman was unable to pick up anything from him, either directly or indirectly. However, there was something she did pick up, as a sudden chill washed over her like a sudden freezing breeze. The smell of death seemed to follow, a lingering aura Aoife still couldn't 'see,' even within the Force. The Miraluka didn't reveal her acknowledgment, but she did take a brief moment to reach out to her companion and comrade.
<< You felt that, yes? What of the stranger? >>
As a Lorrdian, Belian would surely catch more signs radiating from the man -- shifts in body language and other tidbits she was unable to decipher. Nonetheless, she needed to press onward with the pleasantries. It appeared that Hiro was catching on to more than intended, but nevertheless, it was a possibility Aoife had prepared for.
"You haven't left your guest quarters since you arrived," she began with the faintest tilt of her head in a curious, questioning matter to his spoken concern, "and you have a vicious duel set for the following morning. If you are unable to fight at your fullest strength, there are added risks you put yourself in."
Again, Aoife brought a closed fist to her mouth as she cleared her throat.
"And of course, I did not wish to come knocking on your door in the morn to gather you without any notice or warning. As mentioned, the Empress's desires you to be able to fight at your fullest ability. Her culture is... strange to wish for a foe to fight at such capacities, but if it is what she desires, very few here can contest her word. Perhaps it speaks her views of you as well, stranger. I've seen her decapitate or dismember many who simply looked at her wrong."
She extended a flat palm out, facing towards the ceiling, indicating towards something, or rather her point. However, her usual calm, blank expression of a slight frown shifted to the faintest, disarming smile.
"Anyway, enough of that, and I'll keep this short. I will return here in the morning, an hour before Amber starts to rise, to collect you and the items you need for the duel. The Empress has set your duel to take place in the Wastes, so it is desirable to begin the fight just as the freeze begins to warm but end before the scorching heat reaches its peak. If you have any questions for the Empress or me regarding your duel, or if you have even the smallest request, now would be the best time to ask. Due to time restraints, you will not be given another opportunity, unfortunately."
Of course, Aoife wanted to bide their time here if possible. Concern still wafted about the Miraluka's aura, but for what reason still remained unknown. She kept herself friendly enough to show that she didn't see him as a threat, whereas many others may have, and that she did believe him when he stated he wished no one here any harm. Perhaps her fear was only rooted in the stranger's well-being for this upcoming fight.
"The Force does provide, but it works in mysterious ways, stranger. If you dismiss all those who come to your aid, in turn, you may be turning your back on the blessings it may try to provide. If you wish for stew or another meal to pair with your stale bread, the Force can still provide. Else, we can take our leave and let you get your rest."
Although she could not 'wink' back, Aoife dipped her head slightly towards Hiro, indicating towards him or the bread she 'saw' him pull out from his robes. Nonetheless, she wanted to reach out one final time before allowing the man some final moments of peace before the morning came.

Belian’s eyes never once left Hiro as the conversation continued. He hoped to find something in the man’s movements that would tip him off to something hidden. Yet, with every response, the stranger remained nonchalant with his actions, giving nothing away. He was a difficult one to crack, that was for sure. He hated the idea, but in the end, they may have had to let time and the Force reveal the truth.
Then came the sudden feeling that came over him. Malicious, yet nothing else seemed to be in the room. Outside of the feeling, he couldn’t even sense anything. He thought at first that it might have been Hiro, but the movements gave him the clues needed to decide otherwise. It seemed that this feeling was felt by all based on Aoife’s words and Hiro’s faint actions. It was unexpected and caused a split second distraction, but it was all he needed to determine something had happened that originated from a new source
I did. It seems he did as well. What is was, however, remains unknown. It didn’t originate with him nor did it seem to be something he expected.
Returning to his observations, he hoped that the event might have loosened up Hiro’s relaxed and unreadable movements. He suspected, though, that their time would be up soon enough with little more than their continued suspicions.

"These people are.....stuffy. A little on guard it seems....What exactly do you have planned......'Hiro'?"
He was still sat on the floor, now looking at the people in front of him quizzically. He had yet to really get a feel for them. Maybe he would. Maybe he wouldn't. Not even the Force knew at this point. He was see through for lack of a better term, but his attire was as immaculate as ever. Black long coat, purple dragons on the lapels. His white hair with the black streak in the bangs hung in front of his purple eyes, which glowed with mischievousness. The Faceless Lord. One time Emperor. The Dragon of Arkania......was bored.

Your Empress felt it necessary to mention that straying too far from this room may result in... disagreeable consequences, so I felt it best to remain here. Unless you think it unwise to heed the words of your Empress. As far as any... added risks...
He made it a point to look at her companion as he said the words, the knight that had so far remained quiet. His eyes moved up and down the man as if to size him up and determine the level of threat that the man posed. However at this point, it was all for show. It hadn't taken him this long to clock the knight and how dangerous he might be. That was something the man knew before the knight even walked in the door. However it put most people at ease to see someone at least acknowledge the physical threat in the room, even if that was more than likely the least dangerous threat.
I think I'll manage just fine.
His eyes bounced back and forth between the two as again he felt the familiar presence filling the room and the commanding voice in his head. He found it interesting that this presence had appeared at the same time a these two servants of the Empress. Regardless, the combination of the two was starting to test his patience, and cause the slightest of cracks in his cheerful demeanor.
He returned his gaze to the woman and noticed her repeated gesture of covering her mouth. He found it to be a curious mannerism, and when combined with her other body language and tone he could clearly tell that she hadn't made this visit by choice. Something was making her pay him this late night visit. The obvious answer was that she was simply ordered by her Empress to do so, but maybe there was something more that was giving him this uneasy feeling.
The force will provide, but it is also giving me the feeling that there is something you're not telling me. I think if you were here to offer assistance, you wouldn't have waited until the middle of the night right before this duel. So I don't know if you truly are here to offer help, if you were sent to throw me off-balance by breaking my meditation, or if you have some other reason to keep up these pleasantries that seem to cause you so much discomfort. Be that as it may, unless you have any other pressing concerns about my well-being or any other questions you need answers to, I'm old and I'm tired and I would like to return to my preparation.
He dropped the pleasant tone in his voice raised his hand with an open palm and gestured towards the door, making it clear that unless there was a good reason for them to stay this conversation was at an end.

What does it matter what he has planned? You really have to learn how to sit back and watch the show, my dear.
A melodic giggle echoed within the Force for those who were attuned enough to hear it, but the living rarely were paying enough attention. However, to the already-dead, Aria was like another living being -- or rather, someone who at least shared the same dimension with this pesky, dead Dark Jedi. For now, however, the presence remained like all the other shadows in the room. Nothing out of the ordinary...
Aoife remained silent and statuesque for a pregnant pause after Hiro had finished speaking. When she did move, it was to turn and 'look' at Belian and curious tilt her head towards him. Without a word seemingly shared between the two, though, the Miraluka shrugged her shoulders and turned back to face Hiro directly.
"On the contrary, we have only done what we were instructed to do. As stated, the Empress wished to ensure that you were at full fighting capabilities for your duel. Your opponent will be fierce, and should you find defeat, I pray you can continue your humble mask as effortless as you do now. The Empress will take someone's head before she takes their excuses..."
Realizing her slipped jab against his cracking facade, Aoife brought a closed fist to her mouth and cleared her throat again. The spritely woman caught the act shortly after, though, and bowed low at the waist. She swiftly stood tall, though, and offered what could only be interpreted as an apologetic smile.
"Oh, and Belian is simply here in case you were the murderous type," she continued, indicated towards the Lorrdian with an open palm gesture. "Two usually means there can be a messenger."
The Miraluka 'laughed,' although it was more an uncomfortable, awkward huff.
"If there truly is nothing we can do to ensure you are better prepared for tomorrow, though, we will take our leave so that you can get your rest. I'll retrieve you an hour before dawn."
Again, the Miraluka bowed, but it was more a fluid dip before she turned on a heel to make her leave. She paused, though, glanced at Belian, and tilted her head towards him once more. Although there was one thing not disclosed to the man, it was better that way, and in a last effort, she took a pause to allow him one final moment before they left their guest be.

Belian's eyes focused upon the man in a deathly glare from beneath his hood. It was painfully clear in his mind that Hiro was playing a game didn't fully understand with a woman he knew nothing of.
The Empress wasn't the warmest of people and she didn't mess around. With the recent spy ordeal, she had become even more weary and protective of the order. Suspicions were always high of newcomers, especially among those who were loyal. Had she desired it, his death would have already happened. But she allowed him the request he made in the most honored way she could have.
Belian's arrival was merely as an escort as he did not trust the man and wanted to guage him for himself. Aoife was here by the request of Mariah to ensure that this fight was given its most capable potential. It was an honor and privilege to be granted it. Still, if he wanted to run on excuses in his loss, that would be is fault and one the Empress would not entertain. The Force could do many things, including sustain one over many days without food and drink as well atrenthen ones ability. Though Hiro's skills remained unknown, the Dark Jedi was full of strong and capable warriros of different types. Yet, the one he'd face was still more than what many could handle. He would enjoy the bloodshed that would follow if this man was so confident in the Force providing. The bidy still had its needs and depriving it only required more of the Force to sustain. And the more it took for that, the less thatvwas available elsewhere.
It wasn't until Aoife turned to leave that he finally spoke. "Leave him to his claims. If he is so confident in the Force and his skills that he refuses the Empress's aid to ensure he is at his best while knowing nothing of his opponent, then he has accepted death."

I do appreciate the Empress and her hospitality, but I've infringed on her good graces enough already.
He nodded his head back to her as she bowed, knowing that he was still a guest and still owed these people respect. As she made for the door, he shifted his gaze to the knight as he spoke for the first time. His eyes moved quickly up and down the man, giving the impression that he was sizing him up. The knight's words were surprising, being delivered with the arrogance that a betrayed the young warrior's age. It seemed like the younger ones always thought they knew better, even though there was a reason there were so few old warriors in the universe.
He waited until the two of them were through the door of his room before giving them one last goodbye.
We shall see what type I am in the morning. Maybe I'll get lucky and have to fight Knight Gorask, here.
With a wink and a smile, he looked the knight dead in the eyes as the door slid closed between them. He took a moment before dropping his head and exhaling. More and more it seemed exhausting to keep his facade up. It wasn't a choice he made lightly, but because of who he was it was something that had to be done until he knew more about those around him.
With a sigh, pulled out his datapad and relayed a quick message to the same contact as before. He walked back into the center of the room and sat on the floor in a meditation position. After a few beats, he spoke out loud to the one he knew was still here.
There is no right or wrong. Only the will of the Force.

Aoife didn't turn around to face Hiro after his final, parting words to them. Mostly, it was because she didn't need to. For that brief moment, she had conveniently forgotten to play the role of a seeing-woman. No, she was still able to 'see' him within the Force, even with her back turned. However, she did turn her head towards Belian's direction and scowled slightly at the Lorrdian.
"It is doubtful," she responded lightly towards Hiro's playful inquiry about fighting Belian, "but I cannot say one way or another. Your opponent has conveniently been left a mystery to even us. I suppose we will have many revelations come morning. Rest well, stranger."
Aoife had still managed to hold an air of genuineness in her words and tones, despite the slight feeling of detachment that emanated from her otherwise friendly aura. With a nod of her head towards Belian, the Miraluka departed from their guest's quarters to allow Hiro his final moments of peace before dawn's chaos would rain down upon him. The Empress had a trick up her sleeve in some fashion. He was a fool if his denial of aid was a reflection of taking this lightly. Aoife could only hope that the Empress wasn't planning on being reckless and taking on this man herself. Their mission had failed. They were unable to detect that lingering deception that wafted about him.
It seemed that there would be many revelations come morning. Aoife planned to be ready for the best and the worst of them.

He was no mere 'dead dark jedi'. It would seem the galaxy had forgotten him, and that was ok. Probably for the best. He shook his head as they left and turned his attention back to Hiro, making himself visible to the man
"The Force is fickle, and you know it. You've gotten thoughtful in your old age. It suits you. So what exactly are you planning with these...Dark Jedi ?"
His tone was mildly sarcastic as he spoke the last two words, almost distasteful. These Children had no idea the true power of the Force. Dark or Light. He sat in front of the other man, also crosslegged, and stared at him, his own purple eyes glowing

More thoughtful. The wheels were always turning, I just didn't feel the need to be as vocal as some others.
He shrugged as he corrected his brother, delivering the Valed reference to their past. Despite his unwavering loyalty, some of the other Lords always saw him as the silent one while they puffed their chests or talked their way out of bad situations and into worse ones. But there was a reason he was still alive.
It may be fickle, but you can't deny that it has a will of its own. It brought me here for a reason, and I intend to find out what that reason is. The Empress has agreed to let me duel her best warrior.
He chuckled quietly to himself, thinking on the situation the Force has led him to.

"There is a reason you were always the right hand Old Friend. I did enough chest puffing for everyone." He chuckled lightly. He was the arrogant one to be sure. Actions spoke louder than words, and his words were usually the loudest. His on hubris was his down fall. His climb to the light, only to be killed by that irritating Mando. His own anger when he died ruining his turn to the light, forcing him back to darkness. Not that it mattered any more, considering he was dead. But the Force was indeed a fickle mistress, light or dark. "Oh I know it has a mind of it's own. You notice I am dead, yet here I sit in my old form." He paused a moment, pursing his lips, his purple gaze focusing on his brother intently. He leaned back in his sitting position and spoke thoughtfully. "What do you intend to accomplish with this fight? And what are you going to do when you win?" He winked and laughed. Not an evil laugh, or one of Malice, but one of pure faith in the man in front of him.

It would seem the galaxy had forgotten him, and that was ok. Probably for the best. With those two other living meddlers now gone, things could finally start to get interesting. The lyrical giggle that resonated within the Force changed tune to something darker, more sinister. Within the corner, where shadows lurked more heavily, a physical shift wavered in the air. Those shadows seemed to move, wafting like breathing fog of darkness. From within, a pair of fiery golden slits opened like feline eyes, glancing over this other dead being. However, Aria didn't say anything, at least at first. Instead, her 'physical' body seemed to take shape. Like a transparent porcelain doll, the woman carried a youthly beauty, as though she had passed well before she should have. A mischievous glimmer shone in her eyes but was softened by an otherwise innocent-appearing smile.Funny how the dead are so caught up in their history, she murmured, her tones laced with laughter.True, she knew nothing of this other dead fellow haunting Hiro. An amusing thought crossed her mind, though, that if he knew nothing of her either, why should she know anything of him? Then again, if he knew of her, she would have failed her tribe, and if he recognized her as that sheltered, amnesiac Felucia Jedi from decades ago, well, that would have been an even bigger shame.I much prefer to focus on the future. The light of her eyes suddenly flared with gentle orange fire. It was entertaining, though, to watch these two. Although she was careful to weave herself into the shadows so that this 'Hiro' wouldn't see her, his days of meditation may have allowed him some sense of another being haunting him here.At least we have one thing in common, my dear.Meddling--and although she had no intention of getting too involved in Hiro's business here, she could respect another's desire to do so. For now, this ghostly woman would just fall silent and allow these two their time together. However, she would still linger. Listen. Observe. If only he knew how much he would have fit in with this new resurgence of 'Dark Jedi,' if they could even call themselves that with her sister as their Empress. It was a pity they both were dead.

The room got suddenly much darker, and much colder. At least to the 2 Force Apparitions. Iniquitous entire form warped and shuddered, wavered like a mirage in the desert, then reformed into the towering presence of Erevis, Darkside Whill, and Galaxy spanning pain in the ass. The twin pits of gleaming Amethyst that were his eye sockets flared briefly as he seemed to suddenly be facing and directly in front of, yet far away from, the secondary apparition. All of this happened within the confines of the Force between the two of them only. Hiro would sense some of what was happening, as he knew who Iniquitous had become after his sheer anger and hubris at his own death. He spoke, his voice seeming from everywhere and nowhere all at once, filling the fore with a deafening roar, but no more than a whisper at the same time. "Dear heart. Do not speak to me of the future, or the past. Only the present. Have faith when I tell you that is all that is worthy of your focus. I like you. A calm yet coiled intent. Subtle violence and quiet speculation. Run along to your master now, and perhaps we will speak again in the future" And with those last words, the small pocket of time the inhabited reformed to the room they were in, Erevis withering back into Iniquitous, who then winked and turned his attention back to Hiro

I thought every form of you was the old form?
A wry smile spread across his face as he opened one eye and looked over at the ghost of a man. It had been far too long since he had seen his brother, and they had not left on the best of terms considering he had pushed the other man through a hole in the roof of the Jedi Temple. But their relationship had always been one of mutual respect for their differences.
I don't know what comes next. But I'll find out soon enough.
Ie closed his eye and turned forward again. Taking a deep breath, he focused his attention on the upcoming duel. His late-night visit from the Empress's people was an interesting interaction and gave him plenty to mull over. For now, all he could do was finish his preparations and hope that the Force had not led him astray. And if it did... It's always good to have a contingency plan.
I've missed you, brother. Feel free to stick around and watch the fun part.

Run along to your master now, and perhaps we will speak again in the future" And with those last words, the small pocket of time the inhabited reformed to the room they were in, Erevis withering back into Iniquitous, who then winked and turned his attention back to Hiro Cold terror would have shot through Aria's spine if she was alive. This other one here was more than he let on at first... like darkness incarnate. Where others may have trembled in their fear and fled, though, the shadow-woman gave him a far different reaction. A gentle laugh. An intrigued hum. The shadows that whirled around Aria slowly began to swallow her whole, leaving nothing but those burning orange eyes peering from within their embrace. Even if he was darkness incarnate, there were those who had learned how to understand it, to revere it, to tame it. No, not the Sith who became too drunk to know its true power. No, there were others. Sorcerers, covens, tribes. This woman was but a forgotten song of one of those lines.Who she was, though, was of little importance when in this one's presence. His power was unmistakable. He was a Whill -- or once was. Perhaps another wouldn't have been able to notice or realize under the sheer weight of his power, but Aria was oh so familiar with their strength and might. She had been quite... close to one before, ah, but that was a lifetime ago now. No matter the case, it was the reason this Erevis wouldn't receive the frightened reaction he may have hoped to provoke from her. Instead, intrigue flickered across those orange eyes, and the ghostly woman seemed to thoughtfully nibble on her lower lip while those fiery eyes burned into him and only him. How does a Whill die to linger among the living like this, she wondered. A story she hoped to hear at another time. This 'Hiro' seemed to liven up this Temple in more ways than he intended.Very well, then. Since you asked so nicely, I'll leave you two be... For the record, though, I have more of a right to reside here than either of you. It's just for the sake of witnessing your rather interesting present that I'll do as you asked. I pray you won't disappoint me, my dear.Aria's laughter reached a crescendo as the shadows coalesced around her and wholly enveloped her. It was like a breath, and the darkness scattered, leaving nothing behind. She had simply shown herself to stir things along with this new occupant. Although her physical form was gone from sight, her presence still lingered within this place. She had no master and answered to no one. Instead, she lingered everywhere in this Temple to do as she desired. If 'fun' was soon to be had, well, Aria would simply have to pass the time by meddling in her own ways...

I thought every form of you was the old form? A wry smile spread across his face as he opened one eye and looked over at the ghost of a man. It had been far too long since he had seen his brother, and they had not left on the best of terms considering he had pushed the other man through a hole in the roof of the Jedi Temple. But their relationship had always been one of mutual respect for their differences.I don't know what comes next. It's always good to have a contingency plan.I've missed you, brother. Feel free to stick around and watch the fun part. "Ha. Funny. Old is relative.... as for what comes next? Even I do not know that. I have missed you as well. I think I will stick around while. At least until the Others get sick of me playing in the universe and call me back..." He arched an eyebrow, a half grin on his face. Whatever his old Second in Command had in mind, he wouldn't want to miss it for the world. And he did not want to miss the expression on the faces of those who would be in attendance. Especially that intriguing Force Ghost.....

It seemed as though this night was not over yet. The man woke from his meditation alone and in the dark as he felt something through the Force. It wasn't so much a disturbance as it was a pulling... As if many threads of the universe were diverging in one place. And not just any place, but somewhere nearby.
The man opened his eyes to the darkness and pulled out his datapad to bring up a map of the universe. He cleared his mind to focus on where the Force seemed to be collecting energy while looking across the map. Judging by his current location, the collection of energy had to be right about....
Of course.
He chuckled to himself as his eyes stopped on a particular planet on the map - Manaan. Curious that he would be feeling the Force drawn to the planet he hadn't been to in ages but was such an important part of his previous life. Was that really where the Force wanted to lead him? Was that why the Force had drawn him to Ambria, to bring him closer to Manaan?
He wasn't sure what the Force wanted him to do, but he couldn't deny feeling drawn to the planet he formerly called home. But for now that would have to wait. He had made a promise to the Empress and he was a man of his word. Morning was coming, and he was ready.
