After re-examining the Legacy Era comics, Wookieepedia articles, and artwork, I have come to conclusion that the submitted length of the Pellaeon-class Star Destroyer (1,400 meters) may be wrong. In fact, I feel this class may actually be a large model for the Light Star Destroyer classification, which goes up to 1,300 meters. Why you may ask? Allow me to explain through various points: 1. According to the Wookieepedia article for the Scythe-class, it is said: "As the main capital ship of the Galactic Alliance, Scythe-class was capable of engaging the Fel Empire's Pellaeon-class Star Destroyer in direct combat, despite the fact that the battle cruiser was only a third of the size of the larger Star Destroyer." However, upon looking at the source and finding the corresponding article here, I found that it actually states: "The Scythe is about a third the size of an Imperial Star Destroyer, but faster and more maneuverable than the current Pellaeon-Class Star Destroyer." Based on this first point, the Scythe-class Battlecruiser is somewhere between 500 to 600 meters (533 to be precise) in comparison to the Imperial Star Destroyer and not the Pellaeon Star Destroyer. The article doesn't specify which Star Destroyer, only does this Star Wars Saga Edition Legacy Era Campaign Guide do so. So then where does that leave the Pellaeon-class? This goes onto point 2. 2. Based on various images between the Pellaeon-class and its larger sister, the Imperious-class, the Scythe seems to be around 1/2 the size of the Pellaeon and 1/3 the size of the Imperious. Below are image links showing what I mean. Pellaeon-class link linkImperious-class linkPellaeon and Imperious linklinklinkWhile some of these aren't the best pictures, I feel they do depict the Scythe-class Main Battlecruiser as stated above: 1/2 the size of a Pellaeon and 1/3 the size of the Imperious. So based on these points made above, I feel that the Pellaeon-class Star Destroyer is no bigger than 1,300 meters, but no smaller than 1,200 meters. I posted this here to get some input, not only from my fellow RPA members, but also from the community and to hear their input! So thoughts everyone?

Well, I have a different proposal based on different statistics. My theory, rather than being based on estimates through images, uses some details in reference to the Ardent Class Fast Frigate. Specifically, information from this page.1. Notice the fact that the article says that the craft is "~400 Meters" in length and that it explicitly says that "The Ardent-class frigate was about one-fourth the length of the Pellaeon-class Star Destroyers." 2. We know that the Pellaeon is "<1,600 meters" in length. If the Pellaeon is indeed within the range of 1,200 meters to 1,300 meters, that would mean that the Ardent is between 300 and 325 meters long, which means it would shave a minimum of approximately a fifth of its length. This, in my mind, constitutes a difference in length greater than what could reasonably be considered in the "about 400 meters" range. Now, for the purposes of my theory, we must assume that "around 400 meters" in length is equivalent to any length within a 50 meters range of 400 meters (Which would mean that at most the ship could lose or gain around 12% of its estimated length, or an acceptable amount in my mind). Therefore, multiplying it out, we see that the Pellaeon is somewhere in the range of 1,400 to 1,600 meters. However, this is based on an assumption of what constitutes as "about 400 meters", so I could very well be dead wrong in my assessment.

I think the major issue, with these measurements, is that they all seem to be relatively this size or that. I mean the Imperious is said to be larger than the average Star Destroyer, the Pellaeon is smaller than 1,600 meters, the Ardent is around 400 meters. So hopefully this discussion can put a JvS label on what we think are the right sizes.
The Ardent point is good to bring up, but with what has been said involving the evidence between the Scythe and the Pellaeon, I feel that the Ardent's measurements may be off.

That's true enough, although it may be worth considering both sets of statistics when making a final decision.

So I looked around and noticed that the same site, where I got the evidence for the Scythe-class's size, doesn't have a size for the Ardent-class. So I wonder if the Ardent-classes length could be something estimated by whoever put that there based upon images provided by the comics or just a estimation in general based on ships that could possibly match its size. Now granted, Wookieepedia does trump all in 99% of cases, but I feel this could be a case of the known fact being up the air. Maybe the Ardent is smaller, but whoever estimated its size put the wrong measurements based on what they thought was the size for the Pellaeon. Cause at 1/4 the size, the Pellaeon would be 1,600 meters in comparison to Ardent's 400 meters, when its known that the Pellaeon was smaller than 1,600 meters.

Hmmm... that isn't something I previously considered... I would have to do more looking into this.

Personally, I have always viewed the Pell as being in the 1200 meter range. For two main reasons. First being that for the last hundred years or so in canon by that point (since roughly the fall of Palps) all factions had been moving toward smaller & more nimble capital ships.
The second being the Nebula class. While it is just over a 1000 meters it was listed as being pretty much on par with the older ISD models (my personal feelings there being mostly tech improvements). That would give the Pell an extra 200 meters & considerably more mass. This would still make it a step backward in doctrine, but that is understandable due to the Sith influences in government during its design period.

Eckhart just did a video actually on why ships got smaller as time went on and one of the major points was breakthroughs in technology. The armament of a Nebula was on par with an ISD due to it being a modern model ship with its technology. The article even specifies that due to the Pellaeon's structure (it was definitely seemed to be one of the tallest Star Destroyers if that specific class), it could be small in structure and still have an arsenal on par with the older ISDs.
