Inspired by the Sullustean Trilobites, Quarren engineers at Mon Calamari Shipyards designed most recently a starfighter class with a similiar shape, capable of participating in minor dog fights while mainly functioning in the role of a bomber. With balanced out defense capabilities in order to make it as durable as the Amphibious Fighter-line and good armament, the Trilobite Assault bomber is moderately agile, failing however to compete with faster air superiority fighters like most of the TIE line in terms of agility. It's bomb bay however is capable of inflicting serious damage upon an enemy ship or a structure.
Like most Mon Calamari smaller vessels, the Trilobite is also designed for underwater combat while shielding its pilot successfuly against the pressure of ocean depths, thus making it a valuable asset for assaults or defenses on aquatic worlds.
