Lash stood on the bridge of the Kitsune, watching over the field of battle that was laid out before him. A complete vacuum, there appeared to be no planets, stars, or any other celestial bodies around to interfere with the fleet. The ships were arrayed in a fairly standard formation, with the two Pellaeon-Class Star Destroyers near the front of the formation, with the Vindicator forming the "tip" of the trio of ships. The Ardents, meanwhile, were arrayed to the left of the leftmost Pellaeon, alongside half of the Lancers and one of the CR-92s. Two of these ships, however could be found on the right side of the formation, alongside the other CR-92, with the remaining ship positioned in between the larger Star Destroyers. Lastly, the Maxima As was at the very rear of the fleet due to the fact that they were much more vulnerable than the other large ships. The speed of their fighters would make up for the lack of proximity to the front of the battle.
A light starfighter screen, consisting primarily of TIE Vectors, had been deployed to shield the ships from any potential attempts at attack, while bombers and an escort were being prepared in the event a Nova Flare needed to be executed. Gravity wells were on standby, while the deflectors of the ship were set to cover the entire ship, as Lash was not sure what to expect from his opponents. However, he was at least expecting defensive tactics again, and so had prepared a special surprise for his guests, with the Ardents, who had their entire fighter complement switched out for a squadron of TIE Demolishers, being ordered to prepare to execute a rather interesting maneuver on his command. A detailed analysis of the ships produced last fight had resulted in the deduction that these were, indeed, Aldari commanders, and due to the fact that they had a very low species population, tended to be very conservative in battle, which Lash hoped to capitalize on. Indeed, if this tactic worked, this would be a short battle indeed.

Among them, she found Commander Andromeda "Andie" Brightlance. Despite her youthful appearance, Andie had acquired some experience from serving on board Rebel, Republic and Resistance vessels. While she shared some of the Aldar traits of caution over a frontal assault, she also knew how to make calculated strikes rather than just fleeing outright.
Even now, she was already employing some significantly different tactics than what was used by Lyrica. For starters, Andie scouted out the location of her enemies with long range scanners, and deep-space scouts like the X-90B phantom gunships, the stealth corvettes and one modified ARC-170. Careful to maintain cover, the pilots and commanders gave the layout of the ship positions and relayed them on hidden satellites and passive sensor layouts. The Aldar were rich, if nothing else, and expenses were not spared for the building of the fleet. But now, they needed to test the capabilities of the crews, ships and the commanders.
Andie ordered the Pellaeon-class star destroyer to jump out of lightspeed directly over the two hostile Pellaeons, immediately activating signal jammers, communications scramblers and sensor probe blinders, she had a host of slicers on every ship, working non-stop to conduct electronic warfare. As they began, she ordered stutter fire of all turbolaser batteries, whilst angling her ship to maximize firing potential. A number of the fleet's fighters had already been deployed beforehand and they now jumped out of hyperspace. Ten VCX-820 freighters dashed forward, all weapons firing, behind them came forty X-wings, then twenty K-wings. The fighters and freighters split in a perfect half to each Pellaeon, the 820s and X-wings making strafing runs, attacking all weapons and shield generators, with the bombers firing their ion cannons and deploying a payload of bombs.
The Munificent, Majestic and Proficient cruisers jumped out of hyperspace under the two Pellaeons, adding their electronic warfare strength to the Aldari flagship, and attacking the two star destroyers from below, deploying over forty-six A-wing interceptors, either from their hangars, or some jumping out of hyperspace. These fighters immediately darted up to engage any and all hostile starfighters, with the 820s and X-wings joining the dogfight, while the K-wings quickly made for the cruisers to resupply and refuel for the next bombing run.
The Valor-class cruiser jumped out of hyperspace behind the enemy fleet and began to deploy its entire payload of fighters, engaging any cruiser nearby with turbolaser fire, the fighters in the meantime joined their wingmates to eliminate fighters. The phantom gunships briefly lowered their cloaks, opening fire on the engines of the left-most hostile Pellaeon, then cloaked and moved to a new position, away from the battle.

The shields of the Pellaeon, while perhaps not as tough as those on the Imperious that succeeded the vessel, were more than enough to tackle the rather reckless assault on the ship by the opposing forces, admittedly while suffering moderate damage. While the ships beneath them were, admittedly, something of a problem, the Pellaeon above them had maneuvered itself into such a position that the majority of the two anchor capital ship's weapons could be brought to bear upon the relatively unarmored lower surface of the craft, allowing them to inflict massive damage onto the flagship.
Directing the Pellaeon on the left to concentrate all its fire on the one above them, making use of its superior positioning to bring as many of its batteries as possible to bear. As the Phantom gunships decloaked, Lash ordered the men on the bridge to acquire a lock on the magnetic signatures of the two vessels, launching a spread of torpedoes and a volley of laser cannon fire from the unused weapons on the bottom of the ship to keep them away. Simultaneously, the Lancers reoriented themselves to cover against the assault of starfighters, their quad laser cannons wreaking havoc with the enemy's fighter positioning, while the advanced TIE Vectors, capable of both outgunning, outrunning, or outmaneuvering any fighter the rebels could, at this point, brought to bear, began clustering up.
At the same time, the Maxima-As at the rear of the fleet reoriented themselves to focus all fire upon the Valor-Class Cruiser, their superior size and weapon counts heavily damaging the extremely poorly armored Valor-Class, while the rest of their interceptor complement was deployed to cover the rear of the ship. In addition, a squadron of TIE Demolishers were deployed along with two squadrons of TIE Defenders, which made a run for the Valor-Class, the Defenders slicing through the enemy formations of craft, distracting the X-Wings and A-Wings that moved to intercept while the bombers completed their run on the Valor-Class, their proton bombs doing massive damage against the poorly defended and out of position Valor-Class Cruiser.
At the same time, the Vindicator-Class Heavy Cruiser rolled to expose the heavily armed and armored topside of the ship to the enemy fire from below, allowing it to return fire rather effectively, due o the fact that the Munificent was out of position to utilize the powerful turbolasers that were fixed in a forward firing position, with the Vectors once again running interference against the K-Wings, a large swarm of the crafts being deployed from the Pellaeon as the two larger star destroyers emptied out their complements, with the bombers on board it being utilized in a Nova Flare against the Proficient.
The Ardents, while clustering in closer to the large ships of the fleet to avoid being picked off, were only running defensive interference while keeping a relatively low profile, with the advanced point defense weapons and the mass on the ships surrounding them rendering them relatively safe from enemy fighters and fire, respectively.

[ Cmdr. Andromeda "Andie" Brightlance | Bridge | Main Deck | AFV Sunrise ] Attn: Captain LashThe Sunrise rocked with the impacts of the counterstrike by the enemy Pellaeons. Andie's attempt at shock and surprise had backfired quite badly. They were definitely expected to begin with, but Andie had made a severe error in judgement when she jumped her fleet into the midst of the enemy's ranks. There was nothing to do but keep moving forward for as long as she was able. She received reports of their ship taking severe damage before they could tip the ship's nose downwards between the two star destroyers and powered the ship's engines to take them below the effective angle of the ships' weapons. Along the way, they returned fire, letting fly with turbolasers, ion cannons and missiles.
The Valor was in a bad state and unable to correct its positioning as the Maximas and their fighter cordon almost entirely took the ship out of the fight, dozens upon dozens of her starfighters were lost in the first exchange alone. The A-wings began to rally and actively hunted the TIE Defenders, they were the only ships able to match the Defender's speed and maneuverability. The freighters, piloted by princess Starlight's royal guard, all Jedi Knights, began to form up and systematically assaulted the Lancers, backed up by the recently arrived charger c70s, DP20s and CR90s, all firing their weapons and missiles or torpedoes. TIE Liberation fighters began to join the X-wings in dogfights against the enemy fighters.
All the cruisers were now locked and struggling to maneuver into the most effective positions, whilst Andie's Nebulons and Liberators jumped in and distracted the Pellaeons from below with ion cannons and turbolasers. Everything was committed to this fight now.

As the entire enemy fleet jumped into position to attempt to bolster the struggling current ships, Lash ordered the Maxima-As to launch half of their fighters into battle. Thus, a swarm of the remaining Vectors and quite a few Defenders looped around the bottom side of the engagement, effectively flanking the entire enemy fighter force, which now found itself surrounded, with the Lancers boxing them in with a hail of laser cannon fire on one side, while the large swarm of fighters cut them off on the other side. Thus, the enemy fighter and freighter force was more or less completely boxed in, with the only way to escape either being to attempt to fight ones way through the enormous horde of fighters, or to delve into the fleet, where they would more than likely be cut to pieces by the powerful point defense weaponry aboard the Lancers and the Pellaeons. Furthermore, the much heavier shields and weaponry on the Defenders, combined with their numerical advantage, caused them to slice through the Rebel fighters with minimal losses.
Admittedly, the large cluster of ships beneath the Pellaeons were of some concern, but it was no real issue, especially considering the next part of Lash's plan. Ordering the Vindicator to continue firing on the ships below them, Lash then ordered the gravity well projectors on the Pellaeons be activated, with the mass concentrated beneath the enemy formation beneath them. With this having been done, he contacted the captains of the Ardents.
"Red Crow, Blood Orchid, make the jump to hyperspace!"
The two ships did as asked, firing the hyperdrives on their ships up, disappearing for just an instant. However, a few moments later, the two ships reappeared underneath the lower formation, having been drawn out of hyperspace by the gravity well projectors. Immediately, the heavy bombers aboard were released, engaging in a mass nova flare against the entire formation. Due to to the preoccupation of the enemy forces with the fighter assault and the Vindicator above them, their weapons and shields were trained on the opposite side, while all the fighters were trapped by the previous formation, leaving the vast majority of the enemy capital ships completely defenseless against this assault. The Ardents immediately opened fire, green laser fire chewing through the armor plating on all the vessels, while the Demolishers' proton bombs tore the opposing ships apart with lethal accuracy. Following this maneuver, the fire on the Pellaeons was temporarily redirected from the ship above them to those below them, while the Vindicator rolled about and began generally harassing the opposing Pellaeon, attempting to draw its fire away from the main capital ships. Though it was heavily damaged, it would still keep fighting well until the end.

[ Cmdr. Andromeda "Andie" Brightlance | Bridge | Main Deck | AFV Sunrise ] Attn: Captain LashShe had committed to this fight, but it meant nothing against the withering assault her fleet was taking. Try as they might, the enemy commander seemed to have another tactic, it was like fighting water. Her flagship was in tatters from the assault, and most of her cruisers weren't faring any better. The fighters were surrounded, and their only options were to fly through a killing field of laserfire or brave the enemy fighters.
Resolute, Andie decided cutting their losses was the only option. She laughed bitterly to herself as she issued the suicide order. Most of the non-essential personnel began to fill escape pods and made their exit. Fighters and cruisers picked up the pods. Not all the fighters were trapped by the coral maneuver of the enemy, and they began a final desperate bombing run for the shields of the strongest Palleon, whilst Andie angled her own and made a collission course for the remaining enemy star destroyer. Firing and rocketing at maximum speed.
The fighters split and made a dash through the picket ships laser fire, while the other half made a mad suicidal rush and engagement with the enemy fighters. It was fight or die anyway, what more was left to do? The freighters and bombers released their payloads and fired ion cannons at the palleon, then targeted the bridge, letting fly with all missiles. The stealth ships re-engaged, again aiming at the engines of the star destroyers. All the cruisers ignored damages or attacks and attempted to regroup, even the Valor made a push through the enemy cruisers, forming up in a circle and aiming outwards. They returned fire where they could, but their focus was to regroup as Andie sacrificed herself and her flagship to eliminate both star destroyers if possible.
