2 Repeating laser canons (EM-1919), 6 Medium laser canons, 1.048 proton bombs.
The MG-100 StarFortress SF-17 was a heavy bomber manufactured by Slayn & Korpil, with six sublight engines and an integrated hyperdrive. Dating to the times of the New Republic, back when it was fighting the various Imperial Remnants, it was conceived as a land base mauler, capable of breaking Imperial defenses, crippling their strongholds and, subsequently, making them easier to capture. However, it was both expensive and cumbersome. It received an extensive civic use, mainly for mining purposes; and sometimes, to carry unexpected tasks, like firefighting. No matter their use, they're, and were conceived as, flying fortresses, carrying six laser canons and even two repeating guns in a cockpit at the bottom, able to mantain an effective barrage of fire to keep enemy fighters away. Still, their flight is slow and ungainly and they require a sizable and skilled starfighter escort to ensure their delivery of the cargo. The said cargo are 1.048 magnetized proton bombs that "drop" in the emptyness of space, being attracted to the surface of enemy battleships. Their powerful payload can wreck even large dreadnoughts, if hiting weak spots, but the ships themselves are quite slow and thus very difficult of maniobrate properly; they're exceedingly fragile if not handled well. The repeating guns and several laser canons provide enough defense from behind and below, but are rather cumbersome and uneffective fighting threats from above, where the ship has no armament at all: they relly heavily on their starfighter escorts and flying in close-knit groups so their range of fire is aumented, while their barrages keep enemy fighters at bay. Like a sword with no hilt, they must be handled carefully in order to be effective, but it's still a powerful weapon to add to any arsenal, specially considering it can also act as a siege bomber in planetary warfare.
