Located on the coastline of Coronet City, the Coalition District is strategically placed to mesh design elements of Corellian and Coruscanti flavours together. Most notably viewable is the domed structure of the Corellian Coalition Senate building, flanked by businesses and residences along the shore. While sitting out within the harbour are a series of five towers used for Coalition Government residences and Business. It is in these towers, that most members of the Government have their offices

Soraya made her way down the halls of the academy, her hands fiddling with her uniform every few seconds. To say she was nervous was an understatement. It had only been a few days since she was last here, celebrating her graduation from the academy with her peers. It had been a long road, for sure, working as hard as she could to be the best she could. And it had been a success, her ranking putting her in the top percentile of her class. She knew her mother was proud of her.
A small smile came to her face, causing her hands to slip gently back down to her sides as she stopped and looked at her faint reflection in one of the display boards. It had been her dream to come here, to become a pilot just like her mother, to follow in her footsteps. It was the reason for her drive. After all, her mother had been recognized as a skilled starfighter pilot in the days of the Galactic Alliance. Certainly a large goal to live up to, but she would do it. Taking a deep breath, she gave herself a nod as she began to push forward again.
They had been told that command would get with them in a few days to go over each cadet's assignments. And so, here she was. The years training had been tough, but she felt it had prepared her for what was to come. But with only minutes remaining before she'd be given her first assignment, she began to wonder if that was true. Was she really ready to pursue this life, to strike out upon a ship of the fleet and reside with some of the best the Coalition had to offer? She might have been in the top rankings of her class, but everyone in the field had years of experience to hone and elevate their skills. Could she really compare? Those thoughts slowed her pace as worry and doubt began to sink in.
"Hey, Soraya!"
The girl's head shot up in surprise at the sudden echoing of her name in her ears. Turning quickly, she saw another one of the cadets she graduated behind her. Her eyes stayed wide for a moment as the suddenness of his appearance before she gave a scoff and turned forward. "So, you've been called in as well, huh, Aurin?"
The tall, well-built male lifted his hands, his face appearing hurt by her words.
'You make it sound as if you're disappointed to see me." He began to pout a bit before laughing and shrugging. "Yeah, they called me in. Not sure if any of the others are going to be here. I haven't seen anyone besides you."
Soraya began walking again with Aurin just behind her. "I guess that means you and I may be assigned together. That or it's just easier to do so in smaller groups instead of one by one."
"Well, we're about to find out."
They reached the chamber where they were instructed to go, finding a guard stationed outside. They stopped before him and gave him a salute, to which he returned. "Cadet Soraya Reyes, reporting."
"Cadet Aurin Davenport, reporting."
The guard lowered his arm as they informed him of who they were, then motioned for them to sit before entering the chambers. Doing so, the two sat in silence. The minutes passed as Soraya continued to grow more and more nervous, though she kept her composure in front of Aurin. Out of the corner of her eye, she could see him sitting back, far more relaxed than she would have imagined as if this didn't bother him at all. She gave a half-smirk. He certainly didn't lack for confidence in the matter, whatever he felt would happen, to which she felt a little jealous. That calm state of mind of his would have been a great help at the moment.
Hearing the sound of the door opening once more, the two looked over as they were summoned inside. Taking a deep breath, she nodded to Aurin as they entered, stopping in the center of the room and stood at attention.
Sitting at the table was one of the generals in charge of assigning the cadets. He was reviewing a few bits of information on his datapad as the two entered. His eyes remained down for a moment after the stopped before finally looking at them.
"At ease." He looked over a few lines more as the two relaxed and waited for him to speak. Another minute or so passed before he stood and made his way from behind his desk and stood in front of them. "Cadets Reyes and Davenport. You two have graduated in the top percentile of your class. An achievement on your parts. Normally, that would allow you first shot at choosing what assignment you'd like. However, that will not be the case." Soraya's head lifted at the words as Aurin's face dropped with slight irritation. She honestly hadn't thought about where she'd go and thought that she'd leave it to command to decide where she'd best fit. Based on what she could gather of her partner's expression, he had an idea of what he wanted to do and was banking on his ability to choose.
Still, they said nothing as the General continued. "Not long ago, Baron Graemon Gorgano, Consul of the Union of Fondor and Director of C-Sec made it known that construction of a new garrison on Froz has begun and that new listening posts will be set up to watch over it and the system. We have created a small patrol unit in which you two will be joining. You are to meet up tomorrow at the Santhe Shipyards at 0800 hours. There, you will meet up the rest of your team assigned to this task." Turning around, he grabbed two datapads and handed one to each of them, providing all the information they would need going into their placement. As the cadets took them, the General snapped to attention, which prompted the two to do so as well. "It is here that your first steps within the Coalition begin. No longer are you cadets, but Flight Officers. Hold your head high, represent your new rank well, and uphold what it means to be starfighter pilots of the Corellian Coalition." He then gave them a salute. "Dismissed."
The two returned the salute before turning and leaving the chambers. They walked in silence down the hall until they exited the building before Aurin finally spoke.
"Man, this really blows. Being at the top meant we were supposed to be able to choose where we went. And instead, they made the choice for us. I was really looking to try and get into a squadron in the First Fleet. But no, we get put into some patrol detail. That's the kind of assignment you give the lesser ranks cadets."
"I know it sucks. But if they assigned us there, despite our scores, it had to be for a reason. There's nothing we can do about it except grit our teeth and do our duty. After a few missions, I'm sure they'll recognize our skills and move us to one of the other fleets. That is unless you want to go back in there and let the General know how you feel?"
Aurin laughed a he shook his head.
"I'm miffed, not stupid. Going back in there and telling him that will keep me out of the pilot's seat for who knows how long. As much as I hate it, this is what I've got to do." He gave a sign. "Well, I guess we better get ourselves ready. I'll see you bright and early tomorrow." Soraya gave him a nod as they headed their separate ways, heading home to pack and get ready for deployment.
