Taking inspiration from the famed 500 Republica on Coruscant, Coalition Plaza was the premier residential tower of the Coalition District. Standing as the North-Western tower within the bay, it was intended to house the most influential and famous individuals within the Coalition. From planetary leaders, to senators and visiting ambassadors from various governments across the Galaxy. It boasted a few dozen sky-docks, private turbolifts, and a state of the art security system and protection detail.
The building was linked to the central Government spire and the Senate building by above and below ground means of transportation (primarily air taxi's and mag-lev trains) to provide residents quick access to their most likely places of work

Lynne Jameroo Graemon sat in a relatively new apartment, offered by the government, but paid for by his salary. This apartment faced the building that stood as the headquarters for the Coalition's Security and Intelligence department, of which he administrated as its Director. A warm cup of caf in hand, the Fondorian was reviewing military reports as the Coalition was moving for Osarian and Rhommamool. Slowly, he looks at further operational plans, the thought of the escalating violence making him think deeply. Froz was a test by the Imperials for the Coalition to test their ability to fight... they came out ahead, but they weren't facing one of the Empire's seasoned commanders.
With the expansion of the Coalition, war was coming. The storms of conflict were brewing. All of it made him think of the future, an uncertain future considering the state of the galaxy. His agents spoke of an Imperial advance on Coruscant, conflicts in the Outer Rim, new factions arising here and there... the balance had truly fallen apart. The Coalition was a bastion for democracy and freedom, but there were great foes that existed. They would need to give it their all to succeed where others failed.
Calmly, Graemon opens a small box, examining a little item within. His finger lightly touches the small item as it was the source of his thoughts. He clips it shut when the Baron hears the door chime as it opened. His apartment wasn't a place where he lived alone. The male had convinced Lynne to take this opportunity for the two of them to live together. A sense of home and a place for the two of them if they didn't have long nights. With the refugee crisis over, Lynne was more available, so it was good for the two of them. Graemon drinks from his cup, hiding the box in his pocket as Lynne walks in.How is it taking care of the refugees brought by Admiral Ostrenis, Lynne?Graemon asks as he looks behind the couch, suspecting the young doctor was looking over him to see what he was up to.I bet they are happy to just be able to sleep and eat in peace. Coalition can give them plenty of that.A more common appearance of his smile appears on Graemon's face as he looks up at her from where he sat.

Lynne had returned from a long day at her office. It was nice getting to coordinate things from an actual building and not a tent, but she did miss it sometimes, never a dull moment in the camps. Not that there where dull moments where she was, but a different kind, a lonelier kind. But that had been mitigated when Graemon had suggested they take residence together in the new government apartments. Finally they would at least get to see each other when they weren't gallivanting off across the stars. Clutching a data pad in one hand and a cup of her own double strength caf in the other, she was happy to see her partner was home already. Though she did note the awkward shifting he did on the couch when she came in, she glanced over him, and once satisfied that all was normal, she answered his question, throwing the data pad on the table and taking a long drink from her cup.
=Lynne= Oh, they are much easier to place now that the new cities are up and running. I've tried to at least keep them on the same planet, you know, make the adjustment easier with people they know, but it hasn't been easy. What did that man do? Stop at every historical society on his way here? You know we only have so many universities. But yes, dear, they are safe and happy. Taking another drink of her caf she turned her full attention to Graemon. And how was your day?
She noted his smile, and how now, even when passive, the corners of his mouth were turned up. It made her melt every time she noticed.

Sounded like Lynne's job was much easier since the Coalition's founding. Everything was sort of a mess then when the government was forming, the military needed to be unified, various laws enacted and more. Graemon had done his best to push through what she needed to make this refugee crisis a bit more easier. Even ensuring she was known at the gala when Jacques Hu was made the first Prime Minister of the Coalition so that the politicians could know the person behind the solutions with the refugees. It all paid off when her job was made easier and it allowed the two of them time to be together more than often. It was something much needed.
Graemon turns to look at Lynne as she sat beside him on the couch. He leans forward, picking up his cup of caf to drink from it. Then the Fondorian gestures to what was in front of him. Most of this stuff would have been classified, but Lynne was high enough in the government to where it wasn't an issue.
A lot of reports mostly. The operations on Osarian and Rhommamool started a few hours ago and I am reviewing the plans made by Starmane. Not to mention reviewing some... interesting news from my agents. The First Order has moved against Coruscant, Lynne. And... well, take a look at this.
Garrick brings up several image files on his datapad. There were of the same image and taken from a ground level, a massive and narrow wedge-shaped warship hovered over the Galactic City. It was a shape all too familiar to anyone who read a textbook of warships and naval history. Garrick allowed Lynne to view the images for a moment before speaking.
The first Executor-class Star Dreadnaught seen in years is on our doorstep, Lynne...
It was a scary thought that one of those existed in the galaxy again.
And the Imperials have taken Coruscant from what I have read. Reports are still coming in, but my agents have observed humanitarian aid to the populace and their Stormtroopers targeting criminals and culprits of Coruscant's fallen status. Gangs that are a source of corruption from what has been observed. Communication has been tight though. I can't blow the cover of our agents.

Lynne sipped her caf as the man talked, dire news it seemed as Froz was only the beginning. But her heart sank as the conversation went on. Looking at the image from Coruscant. An Executor-class Dreadnought, it was something out of the nightmares of every child who grew up idolizing the Rebellion and her heroes. The war was going to be a whole lot more complicated. Lynne stood up and started passing, sipping her drink angrily, now.
=Lynne= Humanitarian aid... Yeah, sure, the First Order passing out band-aids and forming soup lines... I believe that when I see it. She scoffed. And you know what, 'humanitarian' is probably the best word for it, probably only aiding the humans and leaving everyone else to find for themselves. I have half a mind to take Guardian Angel over there myself and make sure they're... But then she spotted the Executor's image again. A replica of Vader's flagship. She shivered and seemed to calm down. Anger turning to concern. How are we going to fight that? And Coruscant is so close. Are we sure we should be going to Osarian and Rhommamool with that so close?
She sat down again, closer to Graemon this time, holding her mug with both hands and starring down at it, a worried look on her face.

Graemon knew that Lynne had her own views of the Empire, but he felt needed to give her some comfortable knowledge.
Lynne... my agents say that the First Order is giving aid to all. I know you care about the people, but this is an instance where the Imperials seem to be showing a different side. They have given reports of transports from across their nation, stocked with all kinds of necessities. Their Emperor is giving a lot of effort to this planet and its reconstruction.
He didn't expect her to believe it, but he didn't want her worrying about the people of Coruscant. The people of the Coalition needed her care and attention more so than anyone else. After all, Lynne had done a great part to ensure that the refugees were given a home and a purpose again. He withdraws the datapad, setting it down on the table before him. His arm goes around her waist, pulling her closer to him.
The Coalition expanding is a step towards strengthening ourselves. And, with the Imperials concerned about Coruscant, it gives us further time to prepare. The Redemption has launched, after all, and she is in full service. I hear the commander's name is Admiral Thomas Carter. He also commands two Corellian Dreadnaughts, the tip of our spear.
Graemon smiles, trying to comfort Lynne who seemed to be concerned about the Executor she saw. He reaches for her cup, setting it on the table in order to turn her fully so that she and him were facing one another. The Fondorian touches her shoulders gently before speaking.
Lynne... everything is going to be alright. At this time, we have to believe in ourselves more than ever. We have to look to each other for support. As long as we stand together, we still stand firm against the storm and we will protect our homes, our people... and our loved ones, especially.

Through the tears that were starting to form in her eyes, Lynne smiled as Graemon worked to comfort her. She rested her blond head on his shoulder and nodded. The Corellian wasn't about to forget the people in her care. With her new Ministry position, it was like the whole Coalition was her patient and she needed to be on call for them. Coruscant had survived much over the years, and it would weather this. Perhaps the Empire could at least provide stability for those in the Galactic City. But she had her doubts that it would be for their betterment. She nuzzled into the mans bearded face as he mentioned protecting loved ones and she kissed his check softly.
=Lynne= You always have made me feel safe, Graemon. And I suppose those new ships Captain Daveed has requested will help with that too. Hopefully I'll have my special project done by the time we move out to Orsarian.

Osarian was a crucial turning point for the Coalition in many ways. Not only was it the first time that the nation was expanding, but it was also the first appearance for some new warships within the Navy. Namely the new MC95 models, one of which was to be the new command vessel for the Coalition Third Fleet, Graemon's personal command. Once more, the violence would escalate and war would begin to brew... it was only a matter of time before the Empire turned to look at them. And when that day came, may the Force be with them.
You know... never thought I would have the ability to make someone feel safe, Lynne.
Graemon speaks quietly, looking at Lynne as the two remained close.
Never thought I had charm, the capacity to love, to make someone feel comfortable around me. I was always a military man, I was a military man for me and my brother as you can tell. He was more the finance and public face guy. Got our mother's nose which helped.
He chuckles lightly, smiling at her as he keeps his arm around her waist. It was times like these that made him forget how bad of a state the galaxy was in. The Baron looks down once more at the files on the datapad, thinking for a moment as he looks at Lynne.
We will weather this storm together and with the Coalition, Lynne. We will emerge victorious. I feel a much stronger foundation with this nation than the Galactic Alliance. And that gives me hope and gives everyone else hope in the galaxy.
Graemon would kiss her cheek back, smiling once more.
We will get through this together. I know we can.

Reaching out she took Graemon's hand and kissed it. A smile still on her face as she looked into her partner's eye. Feeling her heart melt once more, the woman scooted as close as she could to Graemon, halfway sitting in his lap. It was fun to be so open with him, especially since they had to remain so professional in their daily lives. Reaching up she touched his bearded face and traced his jawline with her fingers, so handsome. Times like this were why she fought and worked so hard. So that others would get to come home to their loved ones maybe one more day. She would not stop that fight and if it meant facing down that Executor, she would. But right now everything was calm and practically perfect. Her fingers soon cupped his face and brought his lips to hers. After the kiss, she continued to smile.
=Lynne= Yes, love. Together we, and the Coalition, will make this galaxy such a bright place. A place of peace and prosperity for all.

Graemon looks Lynne as she touches his beard and gives him an affection that he had never felt before. She was especially liking his beard more than usual which made him smile more than often. She, among other reasons, were why he fought and did his job daily, but Lynne was the top reason above them all. A kiss was given back, making the Fondorian smile. Yet, when she repeated his words, Graemon falls silent for a moment. The silence was pretty obvious too.
Lynne... I mean a different kind of together.
The Baron says as he reaches under her legs and into the pocket of his pants. Graemon pulls out a small velvet colored box. His one good eye looking up at Lynne as he tried to contemplate his words best. He never imagined proposing so soon, but... with how things looked, it was better to do so sooner.
I am gonna be honest, I do not know what to say besides that I want us together as a married couple, Lynne. To be a husband and wife fighting as one for the future, for the Coalition. And... I know this will make you sad, but I want to make sure that, if anything happens to me, you will be provided for and that my family will look after you as my widow. I would be more at peace, knowing that you have that security, not to mention the happy and loving life together we had as husband and wife.
Graemon reaches behind his neck, but stops and then slowly opens the box, revealing a simple gold band with three diamonds upon it. His eyes looking into her own as Graemon asks the most important question of his life and their future. After a moment of how to best ask, the Baron just says what comes to mind.
Will you be my wife, Lynne?

Lynne's eyes went wide as she realized what Graemon was asking and holding. She had expected this one day, but not so soon. Not that that was a bad thing though. She threw her arms around his neck in a big hug. Tears of joy now streaming down her face. Sniffing and brushing away some of the tears she released the man and grabbed his face again, this time with both her hands and looked him in his eye.
=Lynne= Yes yes yes! A billion times Yes! She brought him in for another deep kiss. After a minute she pulled back and added. On one condition. No more talk about anything happening to you. I don't need a martyr. I need a partner and husband. I'm not going to let anything happen to you, I will be your guardian angel. She kissed him again.

Graemon was... well surprised. Lynne was crying, she threw her arms around him, she kissed him twice. She was happy, really happy, thought the Baron as he watched her expressions and listened to her words. The Fondorian took a moment to think and take in this moment. So was what it felt like to be engaged to someone that you really love. Maybe Graemon was getting soft, but this moment felt right. It felt like a long time coming.
His responses mirrored her own as Graemon held Lynne and kissed her lips twice, with great passion and depth to them. The Baron nods to her condition, understanding why she didn't want to hear those words. It would put a dower mood on this happy moment and he didn't want to think about it either.
Condition understood, Lynne.
He says with a smile before taking the ring out of the box and slipping it onto her finger.
I have a feeling Merrill is gonna shriek when she sees this tomorrow.
Graemon chuckles, knowing the relationship between Lynne and Merrill was almost like sisters. Once the ring was firmly upon her finger, Graemon would smile once more, taking one more kiss from his fiancee.
Thank you for accepting, Lynne. You have made me the happiest man alive.

Lynne giggled at the comment about Merrill. That would be like her, always supportive of Lynne and her choices, but never blindly so.
=Lynne= Oh yes, and then she will by me the biggest bottle of Corellian Brandy this side of the system and make me drink the whole thing with her... And then probably send you a vaguely threatening message, if any of my past relationships are any indication. She's waited longer for you since you're a superior officer, though I doubt she will be able to hold back now! Expect something vaguely concerning your knees...
The doctor beamed up at the Baron. He was the happiest man alive, and she the happiest woman. She couldn't find more words, so she decided to show her feelings. She stood up, and took the mans hands and lead him to their bed room for a night of (almost) marital bliss.

The night was one to remember. True, this passion had been displayed many times, but it was certainly a special night, to rival the first had between Graemon and Lynne. The morning came with a peaceful rise as the sun rose over the ocean. The Fondorian was already slowly getting out of bed as the sun rose, blinking a few times at its sudden light. He calmly keys a button on his bedside table, causing the windows to be tinted and ease the amount of sunlight. Graemon turns to see Lynne still asleep, but that moment didn't last long when a comlink went off.
Quickly grabbing a robe, the Baron rushes over quickly to see his comlink going off. His brother's image appeared next.
=Valerian= Brother! I was hoping you were awake. Do you have-
Graemon puts his finger to his lips, indicating for a moment of silence as he walks out of the bedroom.
=Valerian= Lynne sleeping huh?
Yeah. Didn't want to wake her up.
Graemon responds as he walks over to turn on the Caf maker in the kitchen. There was a long silence before Valerian speaks up.
=Valerian= You are awfully quiet this morning.
Graemon looks over at his brother's holoimage and a smile appears on his face.
Been a good night, Valerian. Let's just say... I finally did it.
His brother's eyebrow goes up slightly before he took in the words and contemplated them. The realization sinking him.
=Valerian= YOU PROPOSED TO LYNNE?!
Will you quiet down, Valerian??? Let the woman sleep.
Graemon snarls as Valerian chuckles quietly before smiling at his brother.
=Valerian= About time you marry someone, Graemon. I always told you you were missing out on what father and I have had the enjoyment of experiencing. Glad she endured your rigidness and made you smile for once. It was always so hard for you.
Graemon snorts, enough to indicate a short laugh. A moment of silence endured before Valerian spoke.
=Valerian= Well... I will call back later then. I need to tell your sister-in-law and your nieces about this news. Glad you finally found real happiness, brother... Lynne is someone you need in this galaxy and your life. Just don't forget who is gonna be your best man, alright?
Graemon chuckles softly and nods, keying off the communication seconds later. He looks over at the door, listening for a moment to ensure he didn't wake up Lynne. When the Fondorian was sure of it, he turns back to the bumping caf.
Baroness Lynne... it has a nice ring to it.

It was a few more minutes before sleepy Lynne noticed the space in the bed was empty where her partner usually slept. After groping around for a couple seconds to be sure he hadn't sunk into the bed, Lynne sat up. Rubbing the sleep from her eyes she felt the metal band on her finger. Looking down at the ring a big smile filled her face. She hopped out of bed a grabbed a robe and took a deep sniff. That was the good Caf bubbling in the kitchen. Slipping on her slippers, the doctor made her way out of the bedroom and saw her fiance. Making her way over to him she stood on her tip toes and kissed him deeply. After that she grabbed a pair of mugs and filled them with caf.
=Lynne= Good morning, lover. What's got you up so early?

Graemon was washing his face, to wake up a bit more, before the caf was ready, when Lynne came over. The Fondorian dries his face, but feels a deep kiss suddenly occupy his lips as his fiancee made her presence known. He returns her kiss with one of his own before she goes to fill the mugs with caf.
Valerian called. Seems he didn't wake you up, but he wanted to talk some business it seems.
He takes his mug, thanking Lynne.
Told him about our engagement, so he thought it wise to call back later.
Graemon chuckles lightly before drinking from his mug.
Probably best I was woken this early anyways... got that meeting with the Prime Minister and other high-ranking members today.
The Fondorian had done, a lot, preparing for it yesterday before proposing to Lynne. He then sets down his mug, eyeing her for a moment.
What's your thoughts of the words Baroness Lynne? Hm?

Lynne almost snorted hot caf out her nose, which as you can imagine was not a pleasant feeling. But after recovering from that she couldn't help but laugh at that last thing Graemon had said. She had never imagined that the title would come with the marriage. It made since for someone of noble breeding or someone from the aristocracy, but her?
=Lynne= Me? A Baroness? But- I-I'm just a simple Corellian girl. I don't come from a fancy background or have any land of my own. After calming down from her laughter, she put on a serious face. But if it meant marrying you, I'd take any title, no matter what it was. She reached up and kissed him again. But, yes. I do like it. Not quite princess, like 7 year old Lynne wanted, but it'll do just fine.

The reaction from Lynne was, actually, pretty priceless. Even as Graemon patted her back from the loud snorting, the Fondorian laughed heartily at it. She had probably never expected such a question to come from him, but it was a decision that would to be made. After all, Graemon was the Baron of House Gorgano and whoever he married would be granted the title of Baroness.
No matter what the background, Lynne, it is still the title granted to whoever marries the Baron. My grandmother's family lost all their fortune, thanks to a bad Sabacc game, my great-great grandfather on her side wasn't a great gambler, yet my grandfather accepted her. She became Baroness and helped recover her family's losses.
Graemon smiles at her, his hand remaining on her upper back. He leans in a little as the two share another kiss.
I will let Valerian know then. He will enter your name in the family tree along with the title after we are married.
At her princess remark, he chuckles once more.
Sorry that I am not a Prince of the Hapans Consortium. I suspect the 7 year old Lynne would have loved that.

Lynne shifted a little nervously, everything sounded so official and rigged with his family. She worried if she would fit in or not, yet she had met Graemon's brother on a few occasions, and well, the thought of the man eased her mind with his gregarious personality. But soon the smile returned to her face as her fiance teased about not being a Hapen.
=Lynne= Not to worry, she would have preferred to be Alderannian princess, like her hero, Leia, so that ship sailed a while ago. But I am looking forward to being Baroness Lynne.

Her schedule had been cleared, and all official duties postponed. But now came the hardest part of arranging this business with Emrys: What would she tell Graemon. Lynne's hands shook as she packed her bags and waited for him to return to the apartment. Would she lie to him? No, how could she? But what if he tried to stop her, she had given her word that she would leave first thing tomorrow to help end this nasty situation. It would all come down to if the Baron could understand and see the situation as she did. Pacing didn't help calm her, nor even did the extra strong caf. But soon he would be home and she could finally put this part of the mission behind her.
