RZ-2 A-wing InterceptorShip Class: Starfighter Ship Role: Interceptor Ship Length: 7.68 meters Agility (A): 4 Defensive (D): 2 Offensive (O): 2 Speed (S): 5 Special Gear: 1 (CloakEye Sensor Jammer) Description:The RZ-2 was a single-seat starfighter manufactured by Kuat Systems Engineering. The ship featured a liquid-cooled flight computer, hyperdrive, deflector shielding, and port gyro stabilizer. The two upright stabilizers at the rear of the ship were adjustable for atmospheric flight, and were made of corrugated carbo-plas, a strong but lightweight material. The front of the ship featured a small "slit," which served as a towing slot used to maneuver the craft in hangar or on the ground. Manning the cockpit was room for a single pilot, who was protected by a reinforced canopy augmented with a cockpit deflector shield generator. A cargo storage area in front of the cockpit held survival gear and medical supplies. For armaments, the ship featured 2 Zija GO-4 laser cannons attached to a swiveling cannon mount. This allowed pilots to target enemies behind them without having to worry that the finicky mounts would jam in the rear-facing position—a chronic problem that crippled many Rebel RZ-1s until they returned to base for maintenance. 2 concussion missile launchers, fired through depressed exits along both sides of the ship, held enough space to house six missiles per launcher, giving the pilot a total of twelve concussion missiles to use. Like its RZ-1 predecessor, the RZ-2 was ideal for missions requiring speed: hit-and-run raids, surgical strikes on capital ships, and intelligence-gathering missions. The RZ-2 improved on its predecessors' capabilities, with more powerful sensors for faster data collection and upgraded jammers to impede detection. However, one of the more noticeable changes from the RZ-1 was a streamlined chassis, which not only delivered more speed but also made the starfighter's notoriously sensitive control system slightly more forgiving in flight. It was also equipped with a hyperdrive.

Looking at this as an improvement over the original, we need to look at a few things in comparison to the approved submission it has. There, it has no points for its jammer system, speed is a stat of 5, and offense a stat of 3. So logically, things need to be boosted here or some adjustments need to be made on the original, which dropping the offense stat to a 2 would be definite.

well, these definitely do not have a 3 for offense, that's for sure.
As far as the idea we need to look at a few things in comparison to the approved submission goes for this being an upgrade, it becomes rather difficult. Especially when the roof of individual stats is a 5, and while canon ships can exceed the 15 overall point limit, when the first in the series is a straight 5 for speed, bit hard to top that... I mean, agility hitting up to 4 would work there as an improvement.
Honestly, most of the improvements are more "well the swivel turrets on this don't actually break like they do on the RZ-1", which doesn't exactly translate to offense boost. And sadly, at a 5 in speed, that means the RZ-2's stream lined body and increase in speed can't really be a stat boost since the RZ-1 is already a 5 in speed.
But yeah, I mean, with the sensor jammer I can drop it off as costing a point if you'd think that would be better.

I would agree with the stat of 2 for offense. As for the rest, I’d like to hear from the others on what they think about the speed stat and if anything should be adjusted between both articles. But I personally would drop the hammer point unless anyone else feels otherwise. That or it may break the system by just a point.

Speed stat works for me at a 5. This is reflecting off of the TIE Vector with the A-Wings speed was an inspiration for. The offensive stat is definitely a 2 though. These A-Wings were known for their speed, not their armament. But their speed and agility allowed them to unleash a flurry of laser cannons, play the feint in a football strategy, and unleash more another salvo of laser cannons before zooming off again. Being agile and speedy was their key to survival after all, not their offensive armament.

Ah yes, the TIE Vector... my baby...
But, in all seriousness, I do believe the offense should be a 2. Referring back to the aforementioned Vector, that craft has twice as many laser cannons (and those it does have are rapid-fire firelinked cannons, so they are better anyway) and can carry twice the missiles, so halving the defense stat seems fair to keep things working properly.
EDIT: Wrong account, sorry!

Agreed on the offensive drop. These A-Wings were not known, at all, for their firepower. They were more so known for their speed.

After doing a bit of quick research, I agree with both Nic and Zion. A Offensive stat drop on the RZ-1 for sure.
