Description:
These enormous freighters of the Lucrehulk-class were originally build by the Neimoidian Trade Federation as an important trading vessel in order to deliver massive ammounts of cargo from one planet to another, but were refitted into heavily armed capital ships during the time of the Clone Wars. Due to their fire power and strong shielding most of these battleships were utilized as blockade vessels and command ships.
The Fortunate Sun is a reactivated Lucrehulk-class Battleship, utilized by the short-lived Grand Confederacy. Its place of rest was over the planet of Hypori where it was left to drift within the planet's gravity. When it was captured by the Jinn Cabal, led by the Dark Side Adept, Lord Ghaz, the ship's interior and exterior were completely overhauled with the sole purpose of turning this powerful warship into a mobile shadowport for smugglers, criminals, and all those of the galaxy's underground. Its turbolasers were removed, but the point defense laser cannons and the assault laser cannons were kept as a needed defense, on both the ring and the core ship. Its shields were kept to ensure its protection in a galaxy riddled with chaos and war. The dual hangars were overhauled to accommodate cargo freighters, personal starfighters, and more. Beyond that, the area of the ring between the overhauled, and extended, hangars to the rear end of the ship, where engineering was located, was converted to allow for vendors, entertainment, hotels, and other forms of commercial venues to make the Fortunate Sun a true shadowport, a mobile location for all kinds of exchange and business. Most of which was nothing but shady. Security is handled by reactivated battle droids and armed thugs of the Jinn Cabal as well as approved partners.
While some of these shops extended into the Core Ship (the more highly valued ones to be precise), this centerpiece of the Lucrehulk was converted into the main hub for the owners of the Fortunate Sun, the Jinn Cabal, led by Lord Ghaz. In addition, quarters and sections were left available for partners and privileged visitors. A hangar bay was added to the Core Ship, allowing for a small fleet of patrol vessels, Cabal ships, and personal transports to reside. Its operations were planned here, its members lived within the spherical structure, and here the Jinn's leadership ruled the Fortunate Sun.
With all the modifications, the Fortunate Sun sported all, but any form of turbolaser cannons. The ring carrier kept 120 of its original 164 point defense quad laser batteries and a lessen amount of 300 assault laser cannons. The core ship held onto its 21 point-defense quad laser cannons and its 48 assault laser cannons. The converted space allowed for less than half of its original complement of battle droids (~50,000 in total), space for its armored vehicles was removed, and allowed for the extension for additional commercial and hangar space. Some hangars are dedicated to a defensive formation of starfighters, numbering, to be 72 starfighters, 6 squadrons in total. These serve alongside the external security fleet that protects the vessel.
