Kasalle Company Convoy Galleon

Based upon the more famous Venator-class Star Destroyer, the Kasalle Company Convoy Galleon is a refitted ship type, officially produced by Kuat Shipyards in cooperation with Kasalle Company, an imperial mining buiseness located on Prakith. As many influential houses among imperial society seemingly vanished from the political surface after the Empire's fall at Endor and the time of the Imperial remnant, some families as the Kasalles filled the vacuum due to their presence within the core worlds by establishing trade routes with outer systems - at that time Ormond Kasalle, a former veteran of the Clone Wars, already utilized decommissioned Venator-class Star Destroyers as freighter ships given that he saw potential within the unused hangar space of this enormous craft. Following a similiar philosophy as the Trade Federation with their super freighters, the Kasalles prospered over generations, allowing them to refit and commission their own line of well-armed cargo ships.
Although slightly larger than the original Venator-class Star Destroyer, the Convoy Galleon increased the armament of its predecessor slightly, while refitting the surface of the bow with a city-scape structure in order to mount upon it more weaponry, while the ventral hangarbay would suffice as the main cargo bay. Along with the traditional 8 heavy turbolaser turrets, the Convoy Galleon furthermore featured a vetral octuple barbette turbolaser tower, six medium laser cannons, 64 point-defense laser cannons, 6 tractor beam projectors and a mass-driver cannon installed within the central hangarbay, the last one being inspired by Venator-class cruisers of the famous Open Circle Fleet.
Furthermore crew space aboard the cruiser was refitted in order to feature a smaller crew of 3,500 men due to better communication systems and sensors aboard while maintaining the traditional garrison of 2,000 soldiers as troop space. Featuring an advanced medical bay, the Convoy Galleon can theoretically serve as a lazaret ship as well. With most of the ship being refitted into cargo space completely, the standart complement of the Convoy Galleon featured 8 Zeta-class cargo shuttles, 48 TIE Harbingers and 24 TIE Demolishers
