The TIE X was the work of Garrick Needa, having taken all the work he had put into the TIE Vector and TIE Oppressor projects, focused to create a multi-role light fighter to replace the TIE Predator. This fighter, designed with beauty as well as functionality, was a highly powerful vessel who's elegant frame was packed to the brim with advanced, cutting edge technologies to make the fighter function just that much better. Powerful weapons, shielding, and high speed and maneuverability made this an ideal fighter for use in the light fighter role, while its hyperdrive allowed it to function in a slightly more independent fashion.
