The Gaanaylir-class Light Star Destroyer was the Mandalorians first attempt at building a heavy introdiction field equipped destroyer. The ship carried 5 squadrons (60) of starfighters as well as 1000 troops for boarding actions. The ship boasted 10 heavy turbolaser batteries, 10 ion cannon turrets, 20 point-defense laser cannons, 2 tractor beam projectors, and 4 gravity well projectors. This ships intended use would be to prevent high value targets from retreating before disabling them with sustained fire, followed by a boarding crew.
