Despite her trepidation about how the interaction between her Father and Jin would go, things between the pair seemed to go well. Or at least as well as could be expected of them. She felt Jin's hand finally come to rest on her shoulder. It was a small connection, but one Fiora drew strength and calm from. Unlike the others she had met, Jin was not arrogant like the nobles she had met in the past, nor was she after a ticket to the fast lane like some she had met in the past. She placed her two smaller hands atop Jin's hand that rested upon her shoulder. Closing her eyes for a moment before looking up to her father We can talk about those boring matters later... For now, Jin needs to see a doctor! And then I can show her my room! Then she can worry about boring adult stuff like that. Ok? Fiora turned her face and smiled up at Jin. While she was still young and childish in many ways, she was certainly capable of reading the situation as it stood. Her Father was a symbol of everything Jin hated right now. Their discussion right now could only get worse if Fiora did not interfere

Jinn's eye brow arched at the Emperor's offer. She had not a few moments before insulted him and everything he stood for, but now he was offering her opportunities she wouldn't have dreamed possible. It all seemed too good to be true. And probably would be. It would likely end up with her telling Ryath and all her neighbors that she was off to some fancy school and then get black bagged by Imp Intelligence (which for Jin was an ironic statement). But her thoughts of convoluted betrayal and black speeders were driven off by the hands of Fiora on hers. She looked back at Fiora as the Princess spoke. The teen nodded slowly in agreement with Fiora. Her gaze once again returned to the Emperor. Your daughter is probably correct. I'm likely concussed and don't think I should be making any big decisions about a change of residence right now. I would like to use a holo terminal, though, to call my Uncle and let him know I'm saf- where I am. The word "safe" caught in her throat as she looked past the Emperor at his entourage. She still didn't trust any of them and was still ready to throw hands with the Emperor's brother. And yeah... if a doctor could look at my nose, pretty sure it's busted.

Nicademus looks between the two before nodding his head slightly.Fiora, show her to the medical facility on level four then. The Imperial then turns to a Stormtrooper and nods to Jin and Fiora.Make sure the physicians there let Jin use their comms to ensure she can contact her family. The Imperial Guardsmen salutes his Emperor and proceeds to walk off with the two to the medical facility. It was only when things were quiet and Nicademus knew that Jin and Fiora were nowhere nearby that his gaze returned to Neith. The Ren likely knew some details that Fiora and Jin were hiding. The Underworld, despite what Jin said, was not safe for someone who came from the surface. For a moment, the Emperor was quiet as his hand rests upon his chin. This incident has made it more imperative that Fiora and Octavian begin their training.Nicademus says to both Baltasar and Neith. They need to be ready to confront what the universe has in store for them.It was a sad and proud thought, knowing that his eldest children were to be nurtured into who they were destined to be. But it was a sad thought for any parent, knowing their child was growing up and would, one day, be independent and strong-willed adults. Nicademus could only hope for the best. He turns to Neith Ren.Did anything else happen that I should be made aware of?

Despite her young age, Fiora knew when she had managed to defuse a situation. She gently squeezed Jin's hand as her friend agreed that such decisions were best left for later. She nodded eagerly in response to her father Of course! I'll see that she is properly tended to! She kept Jin's hand held in both of her hands as she led the way out of the office and through the hallways of the Palace...

Neith had continued to remain a silent observer to the events that concluded with the Emperor offering Jin a place at the Palace and opportunities for a career above what she would have others had open to her. But Neith was already formulating a plan which she would propose to her own Master for what could be done with the girl from the Coruscant Underworld. As the two girls then took their leave, Neith gave the slightest nod of her head before diverting her full attention to Nicademus. With the moan waiting a few moments before speaking.
It seemed that both Harnan and Nicademus were now upon the same page and eager to see Fiora begin her training. But she was not given much time to dwell upon it as the Emperor was soon questioning her about if there was anything he should be made aware of If there is, it is not I that can inform you of it... I did not question your daughter when she suddenly showed up in a place she should not have been. My concern and priority was getting her out of there as fast as possible. While young and untrained, she is smart... She just needs someone to confide in. And this time, I do not believe it is something she can share with her Father. What ever happened, it left a mark upon her and forged a bond between those two... Speaking of her training though. Lord Harnan has made clear his intention to come collect her soon. Not only does she need to be prepared for what is out there, she needs to be prepared for what is inside her...

Roughly a year and a half after Fiora's visit to the Underworld...
The preparations had all been finished, and with his business in the Thrawn's Lounge settled, Harnan made his way back to the Palace. But instead of being lead to the Throne Room, he followed a pair of Guards up to the Emperor's Suite. It was a much more private and secluded setting than the Throne Room. Something that may work much better in Harnan's favour for his first meeting with Fiora. He had stayed away from her for years, prolonging this meeting and reminder of the past. But he could not escape his fate any longer and if he was not careful, the Imperial Knights would try claim her.
As he was shown into the room that Nicademus was currently occupying, he gave a nod of his helmet Nicademus...

The Emperor was currently in his studies, getting a rare moment to relax after a rather turbulent morning of petitions and meetings. A cup of tea, brought to him by a servant, was set down for the Imperial to drink. Nicademus had barely taken a sip when Harnan Ren walked into his presence. There goes the tranquility, thought the Imperial as he finished taking a sip before setting it down. The male looks at Ren for a moment.About time you arrived.Nicademus states to Harnan, knowing exactly why he came.I can't exactly fulfill my promise to her late mother if the Master, himself, isn't present. The Imperial exhales before drinking from his cup again. She has been taught some basics, by her tutors. And before you ask, no, the Imperial Knights weren't involved. I had military instructors help her with the basics of fighting. She has also been taught rudimentary lessons in politics, history, mathematics, and so forth. A necessary, and wholesome, Imperial education. The very same that his father, Cyrus, had given to Nicademus and his siblings long ago. What is the ultimate goal that you have in mind for Fiora, Harnan?Nicademus inquires, glancing at the Ren.

Harnan remained standing in place, neither being offered a seat nor taking one of his own initiative. Nicademus seemed to already know what his visit was about, meaning this wouldn't be a particularly long or drawn out conversation. As Nicademus continued to brief him on Fiora's training so far, he was pleased to hear the Imperial Knights had been kept from interfering with her. But then the question came about what the ultimate goal for Fiora was. He let out a bit of a tired sigh that was masked by his helmet's comms system Perhaps you might allow me to borrow some of these tutors to help continue her education in those area's... As for what the ultimate goal for Fiora is? Well, at the very least it is to teach her how to control and use her powers, so she can defend herself. Beyond that? It will all depend upon what she wants to do. Fiora will have as much decision in her training as I do. I can have all the plans I want for her future, but ultimately she has to agree to them... I have no intent of forcing a destiny upon her...

Nicademus let out a sigh. Though he had agreed to ensure Fiora's education with the Ren, which one would view as forcing a destiny upon her, the rest of her path from there would be up to her decision. The Emperor hoped that his children would prove to be resourceful individuals without having to live under his shadow. Destiny had plans for each of his four children and, like any father, the Imperial hoped for the best.
If only Illaria were here... she would be proud of this moment, to see her daughter go to Prakith to begin her formal training.
The Emperor says, thinking of his first wife. She would have been proud of both her son and daughter. A silence fell as the Imperial seemed to be thinking for a little while. Then his gaze turns and looks at the helmet of Harnan. He nods his head slightly.
I will ensure her cadre of tutors come with her then. If there is anything else needed, in the future, you have the means to contact me directly.
There was one more question to make.
What about her friend, Jin Song? The two are almost like sisters now.
Nicademus had offered the chance for doors to open to Jin. She was likely still contemplating her choices, but would she allowed to see and visit Fiora? She had been a true friend to his daughter after all. True friends are rare to come by anyone's life.

Although much had changed in recent years between himself and Nicademus, with the tension easing ever so slightly between them, he did not much care to reminisce about Illaria with the Emperor. Harnan did nothing to interrupt the silence that followed, letting it serve as a reminder of what was now gone. He gave a nod of his head in thanks as Nicademus spoke again, stating Fiora's tutors would follow her to Prakith. While the Ren were capable of teaching the Princess a great many things, Harnan knew there were areas where Imperial Tutors would serve much better at handling more... menial skills.
The topic then turned to Jin Song, a girl that Neith had mentioned to him some time ago. A file on the girl popped up on his HUD, containing information the FO had gathered on her and the observations Neith had made. The two were quite close, and Jin seemed to be the only friend Fiora had beyond her own twin She will have to make a choice... Assuming she can use the Force, she can have the chance to join the Ren alongside Fiora. Otherwise she'll have to find something else of use to do on Prakith. I don't imagine separating the pair will be easy and I doubt Jin will just travel between Coruscant and Prakith...

I don't imagine separating the pair will be easy and I doubt Jin will just travel between Coruscant and Prakith... Nicademus nods his head slightly.I have given her offers. Stating that she has a chance to be one of many professions.A Stormtrooper, an Imperial fighter pilot, an agent of the Security Bureau, and so forth. Even civilian options were available if Jin desired to go to a good academy to learn arts, history, and such. The Emperor taps his chin slightly before looking at Harnan once more.Do whatever is necessary for Fiora, Harnan. I want her, along with her other siblings, to be ready when the time comes for them to carry the torch. This empire must endure. The Delvardus lineage must succeed and continue after me. My four children will set the example of the future to come and continue to mold this nation.Octavian was being prepared to lead the family one day. Fiora was destined to follow her mother's footsteps. Remus and Yvanne had their parts to play in the future and so did Amaris, his niece. Everything must be kept together so that the nation could endure and progress forward.I will want regular reports on her progress. I know she will become greater than her mother one day.

Harnan did no doubt for a moment that Jin would have been spoilt for choice. Given she was seemingly the Princesses only friend, Nicademus would have doted upon the unknown girl and ensured a place of prestige for her. After all, it probably would not do well for the Princess to be seen befriending just a simple commoner. Harnan merely had far more practical concerns in mind, specifically that he wasn't just going to allow a house guest. In truth, it didn't much matter to him what career she pursued.
But his attention was drawn from the matter of Jin and refocused back upon Fiora and her future as Nicademus changed the subject. He had every intention of ensuring Fiora was ready and that she would succeed. While he did not have precognitive abilities that he could control, it was not impossible for him to experience such things. He'd already glimpsed just the smallest part of what the future may well hold. A darkness which he needed to strengthen Fiora to be able to stand against I suspect she may surpass us all... She is, after all, a true Ren, unlike any before... But you will have your regular reports, as you wish... I suppose now would be a good time to meet Fiora...

It did not take long from the Imperial Knight to arrive at his brother's home office as his duties often kept him nearby and this day was no exception. Striding in with his white and gold armor Brock paused in front of the desk for a moment, getting a slight feeling from the force, something was off, and usually that feeling didn't bode well when it came to private summons to speak with the emperor. "I'm not going to like this am I?" He raised a critical eyebrow as he asked, omitting any formal greeting and jumping right into it.

Ever the suspicious one.
You never like it when I call you to discuss something, Brock.
Nicademus replies as he looks at his younger brother. However, considering the topic at hand, the Emperor assumed that he wouldn't like this discussion. Of the four Delvardus siblings remaining, Azria was missing in action, so... can't really talk to her about this topic. So, of the three living siblings, Brock was the only one without a family, without a spouse, without a foundation to grow.
It's time we talk about your future, Brock. A future that will see the Ferrum legacy grow and thrive just as the Delvardus one will.

Still in disguise, Nem allowed his Imperial Knight escort to lead him to the Emperor's suite. The false face he wore twitched unusually as the true face underneath felt rather impressed. He stifled a whistle forming on his lips before he could complete the act. Stay in character, Nem, he thought. Even though he had been invited and the man in charge was expecting him, it was still good practice to maintain his composure, regardless of how he might otherwise be feeling.
He thanked the Knight and then rested his hands on his hips, awaiting the Emperor.

He can't keep the scowl off his face as he responds to his brother. I do not require a legacy to do my duty, besides I have Roland, that is more than enough legacy for anyone. Although his adopted son had not followed in his footsteps and joined the Imperial Knights as he had once hoped Brock couldn't keep the pride out of his voice when he spoke of the young man who'd decided to forge his own path among the ranks of the Imperial Starfighter Corps.

The trooper silently took him down a hallway, passing several opened and closed doors before coming to an ornate one. He knocks upon it before opening the entry to let Nem Yin in. Before the alien stood Nicademus in the flesh. The Imperial waits for the door to close before addressing the Vong. You are good, Executor. My Director of Intelligence is a rather resourceful man himself. So so the final nail finally gets put into place. The imperial Knight thinks. The expression upon the Emperor's face did not falter though. The serious gaze in his eyes and the stern look that was engraved was unmoved by the remark of Brock. In every person's life, this would happen, whether sooner or later. Nicademus had more experience on his hands than Brock and that is where the Imperial knew he'd be able to ensure that Ferrum understood his point. There is more to legacy than that, Brock. You adopted a orphan and made him your son... you have barely scratched the surface of what legacy truly means, brother. Baltasar almost missed on that opportunity and, to this very day, he thanks me for my persistence on the matter.Nicademus rises from behind his desk to walk around, while addressing Brock.Legacy is what is built around you. You have one piece, but I know you need more. Brock... your son needs a mother, you need a wife. I know this because I have been married twice now. So do take this wisdom I give you. When Illaria vanished, my children were without a mother... I was without someone at my side.A deep exhale was heard from his lips as the Imperial thought of his first wife. A part of his heart would always love Illaria and miss the woman who began what Nicademus had longed for for years. He walks over to a display, adjusting a small banner of the First Order. When I chose Faina, I did so out of love for her and the desire that my Octavian and Fiora feel the touch and love of a mother. They were too young to remember Illaria... and I could not deny that to them. Nor could I deny my desire to wed once more. It is hard to be alone, Brock. And your duties, to the Empire, will keep you away from that who you chose to be your child. The Emperor turns to lock his eyes firmly upon Brock.Legacy is what warms a man's heart and truly makes him smile. Legacy is what he brings together as his family. You deserve someone at your side, Brock. And your son deserves a mother too. He may be older, but everyone needs family. You are a living example of that, after all. The brother we never knew yet we wanted in our lives. Do not lie to me and say you have not considered marriage. I have seen your gaze...Nicademus remarks as he recalls the festivities at Ravelin recently.

Very good. The Imperial remarks with a grin before turning around and motioning to a chair.Merrik Piett would certainly like you. My Director of Intelligence is a rather resourceful man himself. Nem offered a shrug of his shoulders before crossing his arms over his chest, a knowing smirk upon the false face of his ooglith masquer."In my experience people tend to see what they want to. It was the same during the war when we infiltrated the galaxy years before taking any serious action. No one saw us because they weren't really looking." He rubbed at his chin. "I suppose that says all you need to know about the current state of the Yuuzhan Vong. No one considers us a threat, which really, isn't that far from the truth."He lowered his arms to his side and approached the Emperor's desk, focusing his mqaaq'it on some knickknack one of the dignitaries must have gifted to Nicademus."But..." He shook his head and looked from the object to the Emperor. "...that doesn't mean we don't have our uses. I can imagine a few ways security could be improved around here, at least in regards to dealing with Force users. A squad of warrior caste in reserve might be the last thing any would-be assassin might expect, or an assassin or two of our own disguised as one of the help." He jerked a thumb over his shoulder as one of the custodial staff was mopping the hall in the background. That wasn't really what he was here for though. He said as much."Of course, that's not why I'm here. When we spoke on Ilum, you mentioned the possibility of my people setting up on First Order controlled territory, someplace closer than the Unknown Regions I seem to recall. Besides the Chiss keeping to themselves and my peoples colonization efforts, there's not really much going on there at the moment. If there was somewhere closer we could position ourselves, we'd be able to mobilize that much faster, if there was a need for it. Plus it's hard to make useful contacts when your on the ass end of the galaxy. I'd also like the chance to meet this director you spoke of. I'd be interested to pick his brain about a few things."
