Within the Central Administration Complex is a facility designated for the personnel and department that makes up Imperial Intelligence, known as the Ubiqtorate. The corridors of this department are patrolled by ISB Stormtroopers, hand picked by senior leadership of military intelligence. Large offices occupy the second and third levels of this section where the senior leadership resides and manages the affairs of their respective departments. The corridors see many personnel ranging from Imperial agents to officers as well as prisoners who are transported to the sub-level which is where they are interrogated and imprisoned. Among the personnel found here, it is easy to find the ISB Director Yularen and the Director of I.I. Merrik Piett. It is certainly a busy part of the ISC due to the never sleeping machine that is Imperial Intelligence, working to protect the Empire from enemies within and without.

Marit Australis, younger of Kaine's two daughters, and by far the more civilized of the pair, had decided to make her first adventure alone. She had accoutred herself with a pair of guard droids on her trip from Mandalore to the Core Worlds. She'd done her research, unlike her siblings who had gone directly to Oyu'baat, and would be going directly to the center of galactic power. Her father seemed in no hurry to build resources for the Clan, and so it fell upon Marit to seek allies.
The luxury airspeeder she had chartered brought her to the Imperial district and towards the Central Administration Complex. The main entrance was well guarded and easily identified. Two YVH droids exited the airspeeder first, commencing scans of the area, and then moving into positions to flank the door as Marit exited the transport.
The transport sped away, and the young woman made her way up to the Ubiqtorate's main entrance, and towards the guard station. Ten paces from the door, she spoke a command to the pair of droids.Wait here. Both droids halted and went into standby mode. Alone, Marit walked up to the desk, catching the attention of the officer on duty there. She glanced at his rank insignia, deliberately misreading the Captain's rank. Lieutenant, would you please inform the Director that Baroness Australis of Commenor is here. The name Australis was likely to draw some interest, though Marit had done her homework, and this Empire was not like some others. If her hunch held true, they would be able to work with this organization.
Smiling at the officer, Marit gave off the air of importance she'd learned at the Royal Court of Commenor, and through years of education and many hours of training. The VIP was a role she knew how to play.

Lieutenant, would you please inform the Director that Baroness Australis of Commenor is here. The Captain, busy with his desk work, took awhile longer than expected to acknowledge the Baroness Australis. He looks up after a moment, his eyebrow raising at both the misread insignia and the fact that she requested the Director's audience. The Imperial then pulls up a quick file, which was a document that Piett's secretary utilized to document appointments for the front desk to know of. A quick scan found no name for a Baroness Australis on the list. Looking away from his console, the Captain addresses the Marit.=I.I. Officer= Director Piett is currently unavailable. And it seems you do not have an appointment with him either. The Imperial sounded a little irritated. It was never fun when random persons came in and requested this and that. The Imperial had work to do and the Director never liked his subordinates being distracted for too long. He turns back to the console, examining some names. Maybe someone could take this visitor off of his hands.=I.I. Officer= Depending on why you are here, you may be in the wrong building, but I can see if someone else can help you.He turns back to Australis.=I.I. Officer= What is your business in the Ubiqtorate, Baroness Australis?

What is your business in the Ubiqtorate, Baroness Australis?Marit continued to give off the air of importance she'd learned at the Royal Court of Commenor, playing the VIP. The officer sounded just the right level of irritated for Marit's purposes. She wasn't poking him for the fun of it, merely as a psychological attempt to distract him from his job, while at the same time assessing Imperial Intelligence for the capability of its officers. So far, so good. She watched the officer as he worked. We have been encouraged by what we have seen of the Empire. Word has reached us even on Commenor that the Empire is always looking for... capable problem solvers.
She smiled sweetly. I am here representing a contingent of very capable military forces that we believe would be an asset to the Empire.Marit let a little ice creep into her tone. Rank had its privileges. And she assumed the Empire wouldn't want special forces and other valuable information simply wandering around in public. Intelligence HQ was the place for such a discussion.I think i'm in the right place. She would prefer to get this out of the way, but the Empire didn't know who she was, and wasn't going to let just anyone wander in off the street. Better and better, she was impressed. Marit hoped what she saw continued to impress her. Professionalism and efficiency were what she was looking for. Nicademus Delvardus IV

Visitors, and their inability, in not knowing protocol and just walk to any building that they believe looks important enough. The male even picks up his comlink and speaks into it a few times. The only word that could be known as the title of Grand Marshal. Responses came in quick succession and, eventually, the officer brought his chair back to the Marit's attention.=I.I. Officer= If you would, politely, stay over there. He points to some chairs on the other side of the room.=I.I. =I.I. Officer= Given why you have came, Madam, you have come to the wrong building. If you would, politely, stay over there.Someone will be with you momentarily. Marit smiled and nodded, walking across slowly to the area the officer had indicated. She noted several glances from other officers and troopers, but pointedly ignored them all. She had plenty of work to keep her busy while she waited for the mechanisms of imperial government to begin moving. Producing a datapad from a pocket of one sleeve, she got to work, accessing the HoloNet, and engaging secure datalinks to offworld relays. The setup took a little time, but soon enough the young Commenori was online with the hall of records back on her homeworld, and had full access to her father's banking system. Though her father had not intended to be freely bankrolling his children, he had not set sensible limits on what they could access. Further, he had accrued a significant credit balance, probably far more than he dreamed was there. So, Marit took full advantage of the assets available to her, and began purchasing resources.
The biggest issue facing the Clan was their lack of information on current galactic events. Fortunately for Marit, her knowledge of Commenori history allowed her to make strategic purchases on that world, knowing the results of certain important legal decisions, and economic movements allowed her to place assets into a holding company where they were guaranteed to appreciate in value. She also found a barony that came with the title, allowing herself to reclaim the title she'd had in her time.
Resources were next, and the young woman engaged several different shipping companies in order to transport the raw materials and finished goods the Clan would require to the Mandalore sector. While her father sat at the yards in Mandalore orbit, she would send him work to do and keep him too busy to interfere. Construction equipment as well as skilled engineers were hired and employed to work on various projects for MandalArms and MandalMotors, all through her father's accounts.
To amuse herself, and take a break from the Clan's work, Marit spent time hiring staff and making work orders for her estate on Commenor, which she would be visiting after her business on Coruscant was completed. However long she needed to wait, she was content. This was an important contact to be making. She looked up from her datapad, but the officer was busy, so she went back to her work, waiting for whoever was coming to get there.Nicademus Delvardus IV

She looked up from her datapad, but the officer was busy, so she went back to her work, waiting for whoever was coming to get there. It took a little time before someone important did step off of the turbolift. The Grand Marshal, Baltasar Delvardus, was an average height male to people who hadn't seen him before. His bright red hair had begun to dull with age, but that didn't stop him from being one of the top officers of the Imperial Army and among the Emperor's, his brother, confidants. On his flank were a pair of black armored, with red detailed, Stormtroopers. Soldiers of the Imperial Guard who flanked members of the Delvardus dynasty. This mostly was with the Grand Marshal as Brock Ferrum tended to use Imperial Knights and the Emperor utilized both.
Baltasar walks over to the desk to speak with the officer on duty. A quick conversation and then a gesture to the Marit followed. The Imperial thanks the officer and heads over, with the Stormtroopers in tow. Odd for someone, with the kind of purpose she had, to come to the Ubiqtorate.=Baltasar Delvardus= Seems we need a civilian station for visitors to come to. Ubiqtorate is not exactly the place for random souls. The Imperial speaks, more to himself, as he walks up to the Marit.=Baltasar Delvardus= I am Baltasar Delvardus, brother of Emperor Nicademus, and Grand Marshal of the Imperial Army. I was told you were looking for someone to talk to as you are a representative to a rather capable military force. One that could benefit the First Order.

I have the honour to hold the rank of Baroness back on Commenor. She said by way of explanation. Nicademus Delvardus IV Baltasar could see that this was going to be lovely.=Baltasar= And I have the honor of holding the rank of Duke within the First Order, Baroness. The Grand Marshal states, clarifying his own status to the Marit.=Baltasar= We are good hosts to everyone who visits. From Mandalorian to Kaminoan. There is hardly ever a time where one arrives and leaves dissatisfied. The Imperial turns and proceeds to head for a turbolift. He expected the Marit to follow him in said direction. Once there, he keys the turbolift to floor three. Once at the floor, a pair of Stormtroopers approached the pair. They review the credentials of the Grand Marshal and those supplied by the guest. One then indicates a conference room just down the hallway.
The conference room was plain. The Imperials of the First Order were rather spartan in both manner and decorum. Luxury wasn't something for their militaristic regime, but there were times for it. A service droid rolled in, with a male servant, who dispensed a bit of food and drink while Baltasar met with the Baroness. When they left, however, a pair of Stormtroopers remained at the door. Baltasar grabs something to nibble on before speaking.=Baltasar= So tell me who you represent and why they seek the First Order.

Marit stood corrected, addressing the senior officer by his preferred title and form of address. Of course, Your Grace. Duke did indeed outrank Baroness, after all. She followed in polite silence as Baltasar led them into a turbolift, down a corridor and into a conference room, which seemed well appointed to her practiced eye. She followed the lead of her host, and selected a fruit juice. I represent a collective of martial interests, groups that go by many names, The Vegemite Enclave, Clan Australis, Kanjiklub, and other, smaller groups, some of which don't have names at all. What we can offer you is access to powerful and capable irregular forces with full deniability. She paused, taking a sip of the juice. Military forces were by their nature, very visible, and identifiable. No one had yet figured a way of telling Mandalorian from Aruetii when they were not wearing Mandalorian armour. Marit's forces could travel freely and act anywhere in the galaxy, in places even the First Order's special forces could not so easily tread. Not without being noticed and possibly countered.Mercenaries you can hire anywhere. Elite soldiers you have. But to combine both, and to have at your call a force of dozens that can strike with the force of hundreds would be, I believe, an asset to the First Order.Marit clarified her reasons for approach, not wanting to ignore the question asked of her. She also didn't wish to reveal the full range and capabilities of their forces until an arrangement had been made, or was at least likely in her estimation. We have chosen to seek employment with the First Order because we too wish a stable force of order in the galaxy, without the tyranny, corruption and other less desirable aspects so often found in galactic scale governments. We believe the First Order's goals and aims align with our own.Nicademus Delvardus IV

Baltasar grabs some grapes that were in the bowl as he listened to what Marit had to say. The Grand Marshal was being given as clear a picture as could be. This felt similar to what happened with Clan Bralor when the First Order began its expansion. Various mercenary groups were probably well aware of the generous terms that the Imperials granted to capable groups of hired guns and ships. After all, Clan Bralor was given a deal upon a golden plate and remained a trusted ally of the Empire as a result. And there was always work that the Imperials had to offer. The galaxy was in a state of... cold war to say the least. Proxy conflicts, skirmishes, and such. A good time to be a mercenary.
The Imperial remains silent as he takes in the information given to him by Marit. She represented quite the interest. Of those names, Clan Australis stood out the most. A Mandalorian clan that was once situated on Kiffu and a few other worlds, according to records from Imperial Databanks. Vegemite Enclave and Kanjiklub not so much. Baltasar did seem to be serious considering the offer made by the Marit.
=Baltasar Delvardus= Soldiers of such martial trades are always welcomed. Our professional armies are versatile and seasoned, but groups, like those you represent, have their own codes, standards, and such that make them stand out. They can fight a conventional war, a typical battle, but they spice things up with how they fight it, and not always by the manuals of militaries today.
Baltasar quietly eats another grape, thinking a bit further. He represented his brother's interests at this table. The Grand Marshal needed all the information that could be gained in order to present this deal to the Emperor. So some inquires would need to be made.
=Baltasar Delvardus= Tell me what your groups can do that our legions cannot do. I wish to know the difference between our veteran Stormtrooper and one of your guns. I would also like to know what sort of payment you desire out of such employment. The Emperor wants to be as informed as possible to ensure a proper judgment.

Marit smiled, warmly this time. She didn't need to pretend with such an important figure. And he'd been kind enough to ask the questions she wished. He also struck her as intelligent and capable, something she was pleased to see. She didn't like to deal with incompetents. And the First Order were far from that, as she had seen since arriving on Coruscant. We've heard good things about your armed forces, not only their capabilities, but how they handle themselves.A pause, to frame her answer. It's better if I show you something of what we can do. She activated a small holoprojector and linked her datapad. A view of a planet's orbit came up. The world was recognizable as Thyferra. Recently, one of our military vessels made the trip to Thyferra with some freighters in order to pick up some bacta. Marit narrated as a red cruiser and some small ships moved in towards the world. This was the reaction of the Corellian Confederation. She said, as three entire fleets decanted from hyperspace to intercept the relatively tiny Mandalorian force.Marit let the holo speak for itself, her eyes sparkling, lit by the display. The presence of a tiny force, visually identifiable as Clan Australis, had provoked the Corellians to move three entire fleets. That was something that the First Order could make use of, right there. Empires dealt in statistics, and trading a cruiser and some support ships and some freighters to move three fleets out of position? Useful statistics for an organization such as the First Order. Baltasar's eyebrow went up at the Marit's words.
=Baltasar Delvardus= Corellian Coalition. They haven't been called the Confederation since the days of the Second Galactic Civil War.
The Grand Marshal states. He was peculiar about names and titles. A peeve of his to say the least. Nonetheless, the Imperial examines the holorecording of what transpired over Thyferra. Imperial Intelligence knew the world belonged to the Coalition and was a territory of the member state known as the Union of Fondor. Thyferra's acquisition, by the Coalition, was a boon to their enemy. Still, synthetic bacta was produced and utilized by the Imperial Military. What it came down to was quality vs mass produced bacta.
He examines the footage quietly, taking in the images shown here and there. Three Coalition fleets. One was likely the defense fleet of that particular system. Seemed odd for them to have three fleets deployed against such a small threat. There had to be another reason... yet one that was not be known to Baltasar. Then again, Thyferra was the southern front of the Coalition, facing towards the Outer Rim. He would need to confirm with Imperial Intelligence later.
=Baltasar Delvardus= Two of their fleets clashed with one of ours over Froz some years ago. Coalition can be a bit jumpy with foreign presences... it is likely from lessons from the demise of both the Republic and the Galactic Alliance. They have popular support, but that doesn't equal military strength.
The Imperial turns slightly to grab another grape and chews it quietly.
=Baltasar Delvardus= You can imagine how the people reacted, on Muunilinst, when Mandalorians came to visit us. The memories of the sack of the planet, by fanatical mercenaries of Mandalore, were still fresh and it agitated the citizens immensely. Even my brother was a bit guarded by their sudden arrival.
The Grand Marshal pulls back a bit and moves away some, looking out of the viewport at the ecumenopolis of Coruscant. Coalition was still ardent about protecting their borders and possessions. They knew how to protect them well, that was for certain. They had the zeal of democracy, similar to the fervor of an loyalist to Imperialism. Those sorts of emotions could make anyone strong.
=Baltasar Delvardus= So what you are telling me is that, with a few ships, you can ensure Coalition fleets are misplaced for Imperial operations to commence. And yet, our Intelligence work has indicated that they have a small fleet of very powerful warships hidden somewhere. A trump card that our agents have been unable to spot.
Rumors of a dreadnaught. Nothing like the Executor, but still a match for a Resurgent and a Bellator.
=Baltasar Delvardus= We have plenty of fleets ourselves. Enough to separate their attention at two, three points. A good example of what your people can do, but cannot anyone else do the same? After all, we gained the same reaction from just one of our fleets in a system of the Corellian Sector.
The Imperials had struck closer to home than the group Marit represented in that case. Baltasar needed to how Marit would continue to string this proposal and present any further examples of their capabilities. Still, the fact that three fleets reacted to one battle cruiser was an interesting turn of events.

Marit blushed. Slip of the tongue.Coalition, of course. She nodded to acknowledge her mistake. She listened patiently while Delvardus spoke. He was observant, and saw quickly to the heart of matters. A man such as him didn't take anybody's word for anything without evidence, Marit decided. She enjoyed dealing with capable types, and the Emperor's brother was clearly that. A minor example of what we can do without firing a shot. If a demonstration is necessary, that can certainly be arranged. She made the offer, not anticipating it would be accepted. The First Order would know its history. She put a card on the proverbial table. My father is Kaine Australis, and he remains an active part of our organization. Clan Australis had some little reputation, for what that was worth, as capable fighters. Her father hadn't been the galaxy's greatest warrior, but he was a seasoned veteran, and commanded elite Mandalorian forces.
Marit wasn't sure how much that card was worth, but she wanted to add something the holorecord from Thyferra as an example of what her forces could do for the First Order that it couldn't do just as easily or cheaply itself.Nicademus Delvardus IV

The Grand Marshal's eyebrow went up slightly as he takes the card. Kaine Australis was her father? Granted, the Imperial knew who that was. Any records across the galaxy knew the name, but it did not seem to impress Baltasar one bit. Just because someone was another's child didn't mean one should expect a 'legacy' response. It was the latter part, mentioning that Kaine was still active in the organization, that was worth being of note. An experienced Mandalorian, one of a kind.
The card lightly taps against the palm of the Grand Marshal as he seems to think for a moment. Baltasar then turns to Marit.
=Baltasar Delvardus= What sort of payments do you expect in return for your services to the Empire?
Pricing was always a key point to these discussions.

Marit saw the eyebrow go up in recognition of her father's military value, if nothing else. As Baltasar began to speak of the cost of services, she relaxed somewhat. Discussing price was a good sign, in her experience. We'd prefer payment per job, based on the value of our services to the First Order. She paused, to consider the question more deeply.Remuneration can be in the form of credits, access to markets in worlds under your control, preferable treatment with the major banking organizations. She smiled. It was best to be honest at times like these, so that nobody got the wrong impression about what they were spending their money on. Our arms company; MandalArms, will soon be producing armaments suitable for export. She said by way of explanation as to why they wanted access to more markets for their goods. The actual cost would be reflected per job, she hoped. Her father had taught it was always best to get paid for one job at a time, that way you weren't tied down to an employer waiting for work. The Grand Marshal feels he got all the information that was needed. He would need to compile it together and present it to the Emperor another day. Depending on how recipient Nicademus was, Marit could gain an audience with his brother or, at the very least, receive a holotransmission to confirm his acceptance. Baltasar returned to reality, from his thoughts, as he finished a grape and gave his attention to Marit.
=Baltasar Delvardus= The First Order has huge investments and influence within the galactic economy. So there would be many ways of payment.
The Imperial confirms as he gestures to the ecumenopolis.
=Baltasar Delvardus= Please, enjoy the life of Coruscant for several days. I will take this proposal to the Emperor and you will receive word in due course.

Some time had passed since Fiora had taken her little venture out to the undercity of Coruscant, but even with her being on her best behaviour, Elayne still kept an eagle eye watch over her. Guards still accompanied her, even on as mundane a visit as this was to the Ubiqtorate. Unlike the Commissariat, which she visited regularly, Fiora rarely paid trips to Imperial Intelligence. It was an arm of the Empire that she knew she would have to become familiar with one day. But much of their operations were not things they could discuss with her. She was, after all, still very much a child. But her education demanded she at least visit the place from time to time. Today was one such day, as she headed through the building toward the office currently occupied by the Chiss known as Valen Nuruodo.
She had read stories about the infamous Chiss known as Grand Admiral Thrawn Nuruodo, who had served the Galactic Empire under the reign of Palpatine. The accounts said he was a tactical genius, and that he very well could have ruled the Galaxy. These stories had piqued her curiosity about meeting Valen. To see if this Chiss was anything like the man she had heard so much about.
Fiora knocked on the office door, waiting to hear if there was an ongoing meeting, before pushing it open when it seemed like all was clear. She was dressed in a fairly plain looking pair of black pants and a officer's jacket tailored down to her size, since she was still some years off from being able to wear dresses and skirts. Fiora strode across the office, trying to look important and proper, while Elayne and her guards filed in and stood by the door You must be Director Valen, it's a pleasure to meet you!

Today, he was here for a meeting with Princess Fiora who had come to visit. He had ensured he had remained well informed about her movements and actions, particularly after her adventure in the Coruscant underworld. While Octavian may be the Crown Prince, no doubt Fiora would prove influential in the next generation of the leadership of the Empire. The opportunity to ingratiate himself with the young princess was something he could not pass up. He rose from his chair at his desk and walked towards the door to greet her, bowing his head before speaking. "The pleasure is all mine, Your Royal Highness. Welcome to the Ubiqtorate. I hope that my subordinates have been suitably helpful and accommodating so far?"
