Dante and Jace had appeared from somewhere just in time to catch sight of the Clawdite being dragged away to her new home in the airlock, and it didn't take much more than a "we've got to go, right now" and a finger point to direct them into the lift and up to the bridge to get the Loronar underway. Without a word, Dante made a beeline for the upgraded navicomputer and the Hiridiu-enhanced hyperwave transmitter, while I started the engines, and Jace sealed the external hatches, paused, then started warming up the laser cannons. I smirked, appreciating his sense of preparedness.Just as I fastened my restrains, the Red Cred's com system beeped. There was a transmission from an unidentified and unfamiliar sender on Bespin, with no greeting or explanation, just a list of course headings and vectors. Crusher had come through. Combined with Dante's knowledge of the Syndicate and his new gear, I hoped he'd be able to set the correct course for us. "All possible headings for the Syndicate forces fleeing Bespin." I announced as I sent the message over to him at the navigator's station. The Ferrerreo grinned the big, toothy grin of a bloodthirsty animal, and nodded.Pulling back on the controls, I lifted the Red Cred up and away from its landing pad on Cloud City, just as a security patrol rounded a corner and gave a shout for us to stop. Out of the corner of my eye, I saw them raise their weapons, but before they could get a single shot off, Jace squeezed his trigger finger, and there was a large explosion on the landing pad. We were gone before the smoke cleared. And that was it for Bespin. Climbing rapidly, we left the atmosphere of the gas world behind, and by the time we escaped its gravitational pull, Dante had a destination locked for me. A few entries in the navicomputer, one flip of the lever, and we flared into hyperspace, bound for a final confrontation with the Syndicate.

Hundreds of Imperium citizens descended on the city. Shuttles flew loops around the exterior, painting the station with high powered sweeps of their scanners. Meanwhile, crews inside were pouring over detailed blueprints & station readouts. Even more crews got down & dirty with the technicians that lived in & maintained the station. Literally, thousands of M1 drones started sweeping the station from the highest point to the lowest spire. It was an expedition with only one purpose, to get a complete as possible blueprint for the massive station.

With the arrival of Krennel Gulch, much began to be suspected at once. The old Harch Admiral was well known to be an industrial tycoon in this region of space, and it was wondered what would happen to the people of Bespin if he bought out the various mining companies and secured the deeds to mine Tibbana Gas.
After nearly a week of negotiations, they found out he had done just that - with some concessions. Worker pay would be nearly doubled under this new leadership, and soon warships and battalions of troops would be stationed to defend the system - acknowledged as perhaps the most important system in this half of space.

The surveying crews that continued to work their way through the station paid no mind to the new arrivals or the change of leadership. They wouldn't be in the system for much longer anyway. Of course, if the newcomers decided to start something with the Imperium citizens, it would at least be more exciting than the muted fear displayed by the locals whenever they passed through an area on scans.

Following the successful liberation of Bespin from the forces of Gulch, Scarlette had finally taken back her home planet. Never bowing to outside occupation, the people of Bespin would always rise up against their oppressors. This made the current situation with the Infinite Imperium rather... tense. The people of Cloud City didn’t like the fact that an inquisition team from a foreign government was allowed to do this to their home. Having ousted the old Baron-Administrator for being corrupt, and not serving the interests of Nespin as a whole, the responsibility of leading. With the Bespin Guard Wing ready to serve her command, she knew that despite their training, they would be no match for the the Imperium forces. In her office, she activated a comlink to the Imperium Commander. “Representative of the Infinite Imperium, I am the new Baron-Administrator of this facility. I request a meeting to ascertain your intentions, and to hopefully relieve some of the tensions between our governments.”

The request was received but little was done to act on it. The Governor of the Arachnocampa had been informed just a few days ago that one of the royal house would be arriving in system for some reason. The simple enough solution to both issues was to just let the two of them bash heads over things while his crews continued their steady work through the station. In the mean time, it wasn't like they were causing any harm. Sure the locals were a little skittish, but nothing had been damaged. He had even managed to keep any fist fights from starting. It also wasn't his problem that they system had changed hands twice since he had paid off the leadership. In minor systems like this, that had become depressingly common. The formation of the Galactic Alliance in the far north of the galaxy seemed to be spreading a little stability to the worlds up there. But that was on the far side of the galaxy from this particular system.

*Moving as if a member of the new Baron Administrator's security force he looked over the balconies and down the corridors as if searching for any sort of danger to the newly 'elected' baron. Moving away from the team that spread apart to cover the doors and corridors he moved up to Scarlette's side his hand on his disruptor, and his eyes tilting towards her, even though his attention was still about his surroundings.*
"Is there a reason why you've brought me here, Darlin... other than your pitiful security needs an upgrade?"
*He tapped the pummel of his disruptor a time or two - nervous, not because he was worried about her safety, at the moment - but more because of the fact that he felt out place around here, in this place - with these people. He moved a little closer to her and whispered a half foot from her ear*
"This place smells like air that has been circulated to many times..."

As the afternoon passed on Bespin, Scarlette stood in her office. It was a beautiful day, and she would have loved to spend time outside her office, perhaps at one of the many cafe’s in the city. However, she had an important announcement to make. Ever since her troops had pushed the Droid Occupation Force our of the city, there had been whisperings of what would happen next. Some thought the Furst Order had taken control of the city. Getting onto the city intercom, she cleared her throat. “Citizens of Cloud City, I am Scarlette Vesper. As a member of one of the more prominent families, I understand many of you know me. I have returned here as your rightful leader. Together, we can push Bespin into a new age of prosperity and peace!” The announcement was met with general applause around the city. People were relieved that the old, corrupt government was gone, and now someone would take a stand for them, the common people of Bespin. She stood up and poured herself a glass of Champagne from the bottle off to the side. Picking it up, she walked over to the large window of the office and slowly sipped it. As she watched the various people walking in the streets below, and the occasional cloud car speeding by, she knew that she could bring back the glory days of the city, not seen since the rule of Lando Calrissian.

Altair barely seemed to notice as she walked by him to make her announcement. He kept quiet and out of the way until she was finished walking behind her still hidden by the doorway from those that would be looking from the outside. His coat wrapped tight around his chest and flared out at the hip tucked back allowing easy access to his disruptor should it be needed. He continued to watch her as she sipped at her champagne - or whatever drink it was, he could never tell the stuff rich people put in their glasses. Crossing his arms over his chest he looked at her as she stood by the large panel window.*
"This place really worth it to you?"
*He whispered watching her for any response other than what would come from a place other than her lips. Altair stood still like a shadow within the shadows - even though he had no intention of hiding it was where he was the most comfortable in a place he did not understand. So many people here... floating in the clouds. It was like home, but there was nothing to stop them from leaving, so why didn't they?

She didn’t seem too surprised by the voice behind her; she had grown accustomed to unexpected visits. Turning around, she saw an interesting man behind her; a tactician by the looks of it. The man who would lead the others to victory. The question he asked was one that she herself would have asked if out in the same position. “Of course it is. Here among the clouds, we have made ourselves an existance of tranquil. That must be defended at all costs.” There was more to it than that. This planet was a prime target thanks to its vast reseves of Tibanna Gas; a reserve that had to be kept out of the clutches of the First Order at all costs. He already knew that though. Setting the glass upon her desk, she strode up to him. He probably could guess her anti-First Order sympathies, and she knew he had this meeting planned 10 steps ahead. She would play his game for now. Moving slowly across the polished floor, she removed one of her hands from the folds and twists of the dress she wore. Earlier that day, she had spoken to a group of investors concerned about Tibanna production. She stopped about two feet in front of him. “Why does my dedication concern you, Cheri?”

*Altair raised a hand to the side of his helm and pressed a button right below the ear and the face concealing mask broke apart piece by piece and retracted into the collar of his jacket. With the mask covering his face gone - bright green eyes surveyed the girl before him, watching her as she moved slowly across the floor. She drank, walk, even spoke like a politician - or something just as bad in his mind but he kept all judgements of her from reaching his face. For this resistance to endure they would need help... especially from people such as her, and places such as this.*
"It doesn't concern me... however attachment to such places is a weakness - a man like me cannot really afford. This is a very expensive liability... and you... well..."
*He looked her up and down, letting the last few words go unspoken as his gaze finally moved up to her eyes and held the gaze. The dress she wore was an interesting choice, but he made no mention of the observation, simply looked at her with a thin smirk on his lips.

“You mistake my intentions, I only hold onto this place for as long as is needed.” As a part of the Fledgling Resistance, she knew the importance of the system. Keying in a few things, she sealed the door to her chambers, so that no one could walk in on this conversation. This was confidential for both strategic and personal reasons. She was certainly glad for the soundproofing installed in the walls. “It also is safe enough for us to fight the First Order from it. You know how the Galactic Alliance doesn’t really approve of all this.” She was right. A secluded system like Bespin could prove invaluable to a group such as the Resistance. With their antics, they were sure to get into trouble, and they could come here when trouble found them. “You flatter me, Cheri...”

"Altair raised an eyebrow at her reference to intentions and took a half step closer taking the glass from her hand with a rather pointed look before raising it to his lips and taking a long slow drink from the rim. She wasn't wrong, the strategic importance of the system was not one that could be overlooked, and the resistance was lucky to have an asset like her in such a position of... influence.*
"Trust me, we are all here because we dont give a damn what the Galactic Alliance thinks... they forced our hand when they signed that treaty - regardless of what their politicians say about preserving life... They were not on the ground at Naboo... Or in the skies over Rendilli... or in Jabiim... and countless other worlds where our soldiers died fighting this war..."
*He took a half step forward - halving the distance between them and set the glass down on the table near the window... by the force she even smelled rich... Her moving off to lock the door caused him to blink - not being able to help himself from watching her as she walked away from him, leaving him little choice but to follow after her as he moved towards the center of the office.
"Do I? Should I flatter you further... or do you have other things in mind?"

“Well look at me, I wasn’t on the ground.” She certainly wasn’t on the ground, but unlike most, she spoke with her soldiers. She understood what they went through. Most politicians didn’t have that sort of relationship with their troops. That sort of bond fostered the care that she knew he understood.
She wanted to sigh as the brilliant orange light faded, leaving the two of them alone in the room, bathed only in the artificial light created by the lamps in the room. She knew that she wanted him, but she had to show control. A shake of her character would not serve her well. The lights of the city danced in her glass as she took a sip from it. She notices her hand was trembling slightly. Emotions were running through her head; attraction, love, whatever you want to call it. Stepping toward him, the train of her dress following her as she made her way across the floor, stopping a foot in front of the man. “Cheri, perhaps there is some thing else, though I don’t mind your flattery...” She spoke in a seductive voice, drawing him in. She would tease him before they would have any real fun.

*Altair's eyes never left her, but there was was a slow nod of understanding when she spoke. It was true she wasn't exactly his type, but there was something about her that had drawn his eye on Contruum - the reason why he had come here. It was true she wasn't a soldier, she wasn't anything like him but here he was. He saw the look in her eyes, and a playfulness, but there was something else there too.*
"No... no you werent... But you're a rebel now."
*He caught the tone in her voice, and took another step towards her raising a hand to her waist and with a rough hand pulled her against his chest - intending to take her off guard, thinking she was still in control of the situation.
"Something else then...?"

She wasn’t particularly surprised when she was pulled against his chest, rather, it’s what she wanted. Every fiber in her body ached for him, so why didn’t she just give in. Looking up at him, she caught a glint in his eye that could only mean he felt the same desires she did. Those eyes were those of a wise man, one who understood much. Yet, he was also caring. Showing compassion to his troops. She was forever the analyst. Yet with him, she didn’t want to peel back the layers, find out his secrets. He was someone she felt she could trust, she could believe in. She shivered as he whispered into her ear, a current passing through her body. She wanted him. That wasn’t something she was used to. But she was adaptable. “Yes Cheri... something else that I know you want as well...”

*Altair felt the heat rising off her skin, and noticed the flush in her cheeks - in her mind they were already in bed... or in this case probably sprawled across that desk - or maybe the couch in the center of the room. His hand skirted down her thigh - the thin and soft fabric of her dress as soft as silk beneath his fingers. He gave a soft sigh as his hands drifted back up her thigh - her waist and around her back... it had been years since he had been this close to a woman, and he tried hard not to remember that part of his youth on most days.
"Was it that obvious?"
*His free hand raised to her cheek, running his fingers down her neck and up into her hair along the curve of her jaw and around her ear - the feeling of her skin under his rough hands caused his ridged exterior to relax a little.

“Only to me.” An electric feeling swept over Scarlette’s skin as Altair slowly ran his hand over her. As he felt him relax, she to felt at ease. Wherever he touched felt good. She pressed her lips against his as the two of them began to back towards the door that led to her personal quarters. The small part of her mind that was still thinking rationally, and wasn’t clouded with lust, was glad that they hadn’t chosen the desk. She didn’t want champagne spilled over her papers. “You seem more relaxed then usual... are you softening, Cheri?” She spoke in a silky voice, trying to contain herself. She didn’t want to give in just yet. She hoped that her body would obey the small part of her mind not intoxicated by Captain Sirraf.

*His feet seemed to follow hers as she retreated back towards her room, his hand pulling down from her neck to rest upon her hips feeling her muscles bunch and relax with each step she took. His eyes lowered over her body as he moved with her into her personal quarters and his hand came down against the door sensor and it closed behind them - sectioning them off from the rest of the city. Her question hardly took him off guard, she was oddly inquisitive and very perspective for a politician, there was something else about her she was hiding something.
"It's... been a very long time since i've kept the company of a woman..."

“I have faith in you, Cheri...” As both their clothes were discarded on the floor, she allowed herself to be fully taken by him. It had been many a year since the she had been in a romance. All those prior had been mere fancies, that had lasted a short while. Over the years, she had picked up dozens of suitors, but they looked at what she could give them, not what they could give her. With Altair, she knew it was something different. He looked at her for what she was, and Scarlette loved him for it. It made her happy, and made her crave him. Not just like this, but as a person. She could give herself to him and not be disappointed. Left on her own, with a broken heart. The concept of someone to trust was something she wasn’t used to, but she loved it.
Sounds of pleasure ricocheted off the soundproof walls of the chamber, as the two of them raced to fill their desires. Their raw hunger for each other came to a head, and filled each other with satisfaction. As the rest of the city slowly died into sleep, the two of them were awake for longer, holding onto each other, riding the storm of emotions going through their heads, fulfilling each other’s passions, their lusts. And all of this would come to fruition in the beautiful spires of Cloud City, where dreams truly did come true that night.
