Archonian Web-Wing All-Environment Armed Explorer
Ship Class: Heavy Starfighter
Ship Role: Submersible/Armed Explorer/Transport/Heavy Scout/Light Freighter
Ship Length: 25 meters
Agility (A): 3
Defensive (D): 3
Offensive (O): 3
Speed (S): 3
Special Gear: 3 (Semi-Sentient Controls, Troop Capacity, Advanced Sensor Array)
Description:
Weapons: 2 laser cannons, 1 rear-facing auto-blaster, 2 configurable warhead launchers (6 warheads)
Built during the early years of Aldar history, the web-wing had been through numerous redesigns and updates as people of Archon learnt more about the galaxy around them. It was given better armaments as they realized confrontations or pirates were sometimes inevitable and it was far better to be prepared than to presume on kindness or friendliness being reciprocated. Their insatiable curiosity led them to developing the craft to be able to function in all environments, thus this craft could operate without issue in deep waters as a submersible.
The modern redesign had included a much larger concentration of Archonite (semi-sentient crystals) which gave the ship a certain amount of consciousness. As such, it was able to read minds, and it followed the bias of the Aldar, which fortunately for most sentients, meant that almost anyone could use these vessels, as long as the Aldar liked them. Sith and folks hostile to the Aldar would fine themselves unable to coax these ships to functioning properly, if at all. In rare cases, the ship sometimes turns against hostile boarders.
Equipped with a class 1 hyperdrive, shields, grappling arms and a tractor beam, it was a medium range craft with limited independence for operations and exploration. The crew consisted of a pilot, co-pilot, gunner, sensor officer and an engineer, though the ship could be flown by one person if necessary. Additionally, thanks to its size, the ship could carry up to 10 passengers and had limited cabin space and consumables for up to one month. The ship carried 15 all-environment pressure suits.
While not the most durable or powerful combat craft, the web-wings could hold their own in a confrontation, and had enough speed and agility to make this a well-rounded vessel suited to multiple roles and functions.
