In the center of the Lord's district sits a fractured piece of an old Dreadnought-class Cruiser etched with the name of everyone who died during the Siege of Saffia. Hundreds of thousands of names are etched into the piece of hull at the center of the Plaza. Some names were those of professional soldiers, even more were the names of citizens turned soldiers by circumstance, but the greatest number of names were those of citizens of Saffia who had been killed. At all hours of the day 4 members of the Cobalt Guard, veteran citizen soldiers of the Siege stand silent sentinel around the memorial, wearing the plain clothes and mismatched weapons they had worn and wielded. The entire memorial sat as a reminder of the price that had been paid. It was a somber place of reflection on the past, but it had a second message as well one of hope for the future. As the District of the Jedi Lords grew up around it that message of hope would slowly be realized.

The tell tale clip clopping of Orbak hooves sounded across the plaza, as Tygalt sat astride his mount. His grip tightening upon the leather strap to reign the mighty beast to a stop. Tales of the battle of Saffia - despite how recent it was - were already spreading across Serenno like wildfire. So much so that even Tygalt had heard about those whom had given their lives in the defense of freedom. They were truly heroes worthy of this memorial.
Tygalt dismounted his Orbak then, and strode forth into the plaza. His path taking him to the very center of the memorial where the Cobalt Guard stood watch. Without so much as a word, Tygalt drew his sword, and planted the tip upon the ground as he took a knee. Assuming a position which many associated with a sign of honor and respect for a Knight to show the fallen. He bowed his head and rested his forehead against the metal of the blade. Praying and paying respects to those that had gone into the next life

[ Princess Lyrica Starlight | Memorial Plaze | The Lords' District | Serenno ] Attn: Tygalt Stormburner Lyrica still had horrid visions when she came here. The sight of the memorial illicited the terrifying sight of the massive cruiser being pulled out of the sky in an awesome display of malevolent intent. But she came all the same, intrigued by the voices and the ghosts. Or the memories of the crew that served on board the devastated ship. The soft glow of her life force made clear just who and what she was as she stood off to the side from an armoured knight. She clasped her palms over each other and rested them against her chest, looking towards the memorial as if in prayer, not unlike what the man seemed to be doing.

It was hard to tell how much time had passed since Tygalt had taken his knee before the central memorial. It could have been mere minutes or entire hours. His attunement with the Force meant that he was capable of slipping into a meditative state. Something he usually did when crouched like he was now. It brought him to a moment of peace and clarity when facing hardships. Today was no different to the many other times. He was undertaking a mission which would change the course of his life going forward. He was going to be shouldering the burden of all those that had lost their lives fighting against the Darkness.
But where others might falter at the sheer magnitude of such a monumental task, Tygalt was reinvigorated by it. Such places as this were a reminder of the importance of the fight he fought and the core principle at the center of his beliefs. As someone of privilege and power, he had a moral responsibility and obligation to fight for those that could not fight for themselves.
His eyes slowly lifted opened then, his thoughts interrupted by the arrival of a new presence within the Force. A female that radiated the light from her being. Something he had never come across before in his life. He turned his head to the side then. Spying the woman as she stood with her hands clasped to her chest in prayer. She seemed young and powerful, yet something about her nagged him within the Force. Causing him to rise to his feet and sheath his blade as he moved closer, offering her a short bow Mi'lady... I beg your pardon for my rude interruption, but are you alright?

[ Princess Lyrica Starlight | Memorial Plaze | The Lords' District | Serenno ] Attn: Tygalt Stormburner A ghost of a smile traced along Lyrica's lips as she was greeted by the armoured man, and her glow brightened a bit, even as a closer examination would reveal to the man her sickly pallor, barely concealed by the light of her body, which created its own paradox, as her light radiated life, vigour and strength, but her skin tone and the slight red under each eye said this was a young woman already approaching death.“Milord,” said Lyrica as she opened her eyes and inclined her head towards him in greeting, bending her legs into a slight curtsey, “I am Lyrica Starlight, princess of Archon, and last living royal of the Aldar. Quite simply, I am not all right, for I am of a short-lived people, cursed so by Sith Alchemy lifetimes ago. I am nineteen turns of the seasons, and I may not see much more before I join my ancestors in the Force, if not in months.”She was candid and straight to the point, seeing no need to bandy words around the simple facts.

Her smile was enchanting for as little of it as she showed. How his focus was drawn to her physical condition despite the brightening glow that radiated from her very being. It was a curious and concerning sight by any means of measure that someone could seem so powerful and yet so frail all at once. Before he could even begin to ponder what might have stricken her with such a condition, the Princess introduced herself and spoke of her people's plight. It was not too surprising to learn that such a thing was the handiwork of the Sith.
The Sith religion preyed on the worst parts of people, drawing out their aggression and hate. Using it to fuel their perverse use of the Force to corrupt all that was good in the galaxy. It made his heart heavy to hear that such a corruption had reached someone as sweet as this Princess. And yet, she seemed more than comfortable to candidly speak of her condition with him, despite the pair only having just met. Perhaps it spoke to the acceptance of her fate, or a great strength of will and spirit. I am no lord, Your Majesty, I am but a simple knight. I am known as Ser Tygalt Stormburner, and it is a pleasure to make your acquaintance... And I am sorry to hear of your plight, the Sith are cruel and evil beings whom rarely show remorse... After all these years, is there nothing that can be done to reverse their wickedness?

[ Princess Lyrica Starlight | Memorial Plaze | The Lords' District | Serenno ] Attn: Tygalt Stormburner“The pleasure is mine, Ser Tygalt,” said Lyrica, with a much brighter smile. Her voice was light and high-pitched, showcasing her youth even more. At his following query, she let out a soft sigh and raised a hand to cover a small cough, then placed a breathing mask over her nose and mouth for a moment, drawing a rich breath of oxygen, before she answered, “Generations of my people have sought a way to break the Curse. It has been a part of us for a thousand years, since the time of Lord Hoth. For our part in hunting down the Sith and aiding our fellow Jedi, the Sith punished my people. They poisoned our waters. The very world which birthed us had become our doom.”She tilted her head away to cough again, the edge of her long white lace sleeve was tinted with red, from frequent exposure to blood, when she looked back at the knight, she still smiled, as if she weren't liable to keel over at any moment, “Our Loresingers often sing of hope and remembrance, they believe that our salvation is in the stars...but our star explorers died centuries ago, and we were trapped upon our world, forgotten to the galaxy, until recently, some generations before me. We took to the stars once again, and began our quest anew. I came upon the people of Serenno in their time of need, and have called forth my people for one final journey. We do not know if our salvation is possible, but we would rebuild the people here with all that we have, for as long as we draw breath. If it is our final duty, then we will serve it proudly until we can no longer stand.”The girl nodded her head firmly with a sense of conviction and a flash of strength in her eyes that defied the Dark Side of the Force that ravaged her body from within.

Despite her smile, Tygalt could not help but be wracked by concern for her. He took a small step forward and placed his hand gently upon her shoulder as she coughed before inhaling from an oxygen mask. He listened intently then as the Princess explained that the Curse had afflicted her people since the time of Lord Hoth. A thousand years was a long time by any measure, but infinitely longer when you considered that these Aldar were so short lived. Countless generations had been lost to the Sith's savagery. It was unthinkable that any enemy could be so cruel. And yet, Tygalt knew that was exactly the kind of despicable creatures the Sith were.
He reached his hand into a jacket pocket then and withdrew a dark grey piece of fabric with the Stormburner family sigil emblazoned in a deep red. The same sigil that was upon Tygalt's chest. He removed his hand from the Princesses shoulder and gently took her hand, before placing the handkerchief into it. He offered her a small smile then Keep it, so that Your Majesty does not have to mar such beautiful clothing further... Your people have given much, and for their actions they were cursed... Tygalt took a step back before unsheathing his sword. He took to one knee and offered his sword toward the Princess as it lay flat across both of his palms Today I wish to pledge myself and my blade to you, Your Highness. Your people are owed a great debt of gratitude, and I would see that by my actions we begin to repay it. Salvation from this affliction exists, and I would do everything in my power to ensure you see the day your people are free...

[ Princess Lyrica Starlight | Memorial Plaze | The Lords' District | Serenno ] Attn: Tygalt Stormburner Lyrica was stunned by the knight's generosity and gift. Though it was stemmed more from the simple fact that it took very little to surprise an Aldar. Gifts certainly worked. But Tygalt was far from finished. And she leaned back slightly when he knelt and offered her his blade. Her eyes went as wide as they could, and her jaw didn't appear inclined to close anytime soon. It brought a tear to her eyes when he offered her this so freely. But more so because the crystal pendant around her neck shone bright with a pulsing light. Her ancestors approved of the man's actions. And he did not even realize the boon he had taken upon himself.“Th-thank you...Ser Tygalt.” said Lyrica, and she gently rested a palm over the blade between the man's palms, “your pledge and your blade I gladly accept. There is something that is done amongst my people with people not of our blood. By your pledge freely given, we return to you a boon of ours, by naming you Bloodsworn. It is far more than a mere title. The power of the Force itself grants the Bloodsworn great gifts, and long life, ironic as that might be, given the circumstances. But it is a gift, and not one that is forced upon those who may not wish for it.”She removed her hand from the blade and gestured lightly, “Arise, brave knight, and let me know, if you wish to accept what I offer. You should know that the Bloodsworn are bonded with the one who performs the act. It...can be quite intimate, for you will know my presence without a look, as I will know yours. No matter how far, we would know one another, and more, we would feel each other's pains, joys, and...pleasures.” she blushed lightly when she mentioned the last part, and she realized how awkward it would be if the knight had wife and he was intimate with her. The same would be true in reverse should she find herself a man in the short time she had left to her. Still, custom demanded that she make the offer, and as it was a pledge given directly to her, she could not have any other Aldar make the offer.
It was probably why the Knights often preferred to escort her, for fear that someone might unknowingly earn themselves a boon with the last living royal herself. This day had been an exception, for she didn't venture far. Merely paying her respects to the fallen. How much trouble could she get into?

Tygalt looked up upon the Princess from his kneeling position as she stared at him wide eyed and slack-jawed. A look of concern briefly passed over his features as Lyrica appeared to start crying. He couldn't help but wonder if what he had done or was doing upset her, since the Aldar could have very different customs to him. But before he could move, Lyrica placed her palm over his blade and thanked him. Her tears were not of sadness, but those of joy.
He listened as she accepted his pledge of fealty before speaking of something known as Bloodsworn. It sounded unlike any ritual he had ever heard about before and it intrigued him as he rose to his feet when bidden to do so by Lyrica. He carefully sheathed his sword in one swift motion as he took a moment to consider the Princesses offer. A small smile formed when Lyrica blushed after speaking of sharing each other's pleasures. It was not because he found the comment funny, but because she looked cute when she blushed. A part of him considered declining the offer then and there for fear of impugning her honor and reputation through the bond they would share. But something in the Force called to him, guiding him from such fears and concerns.
He offered her a short, but brief, bow. His right hand coming to rest atop his heart in a fist It would be an honor to become your Bloodsworn... By my pledge, I will not dishonour you My Lady! If it will help me better serve you, I will not reject such a gift! The future was filled with uncertainties, who knew how long Lyrica may yet live and what might be required to find the cure. But he was confident that accepting this charge to become a Bloodsworn was the right thing to do

[ Princess Lyrica Starlight | Memorial Plaze | The Lords' District | Serenno ] Attn: Tygalt Stormburner Lyrica felt pleased. She longed to experience this. Yet there was indeed trepidation, and a brief hesitance. But the Aldar needed the Bloodsworn. Their humanity, their courage, their strength, would see the race through just a little bit longer. Perhaps long enough for one to find a true cure for the Curse. Tygalt Stormburner, as the Bloodsworn of the Princess herself, would be regarded as a prince himself, amongst Aldar. He would be held in honour, though neither of them realized this yet. For Lyrica had been sheltered from certain facts in life and her people's own culture.“It is done.” whispered the girl, and her body glowed brighter for a moment as she drew upon the Force, embracing the living energy and touching her own spirit within, then enveloping Tygalt's with the power. The flow of light joined the two for a brief moment, and a soft glow visited itself upon Tygalt's form. Suddenly, Lyrica could feel a knot of emotion in the back of her mind. A foreign sensation, and she realized this was Tygalt's emotions and his being. He was as steely in resolve in spirit as he was in words. She knew then, that she had made no mistake. In the same way, Tygalt could now feel Lyrica's emotions, the most surface thoughts, the hard feeling of old pains healed with time. Eager curiosity flowed from her into Tygalt. They could draw strength from one another as needed, and no matter how far apart they went, both would know where there were precisely as they would know their own hands.
They were, in every sense of the word, bonded.“Bloodsworn.” said Lyrica simply, and she smiled.

He stood fast as Lyrica whispered something as her body began to glow brighter, feeling the Force flow around and envelop him. Under other circumstances he might have panicked or tried to resist, but he remained calm and collected. Feeling the connection being forged between himself and the Princess as his own form took on a soft but momentary glow. It was a strange feeling, but nothing compared to the sensation he felt a few moments later as the bonding was completed and he felt Lyrica's emotions flow into the back of his mind. It all started in a rush of old pains healed with time and an eager curiosity that washed over him until he managed to get it under control a few moments later. Then came this strange sense of knowledge. Not of things he did not know about the Aldar. But just this feeling of knowing where Lyrica was. As if she were an extension of himself.
He took her hands in his own and smiled back at her, his gaze meeting hers Princess... Thank you! I shall not let you down...

[ Princess Lyrica Starlight | Memorial Plaze | The Lords' District | Serenno ] Attn: Tygalt Stormburner The young princess looked down momentarily at their joined hands, curious about the sensations. One was her own, which she felt more keenly, but in the background, there was the sensation of Tygalt's, how he felt holding her. She never realized just how frail she felt compared to others. She couldn't imagine what she'd feel like to a Chistori or a Wookie. Was she really that soft and fragile? It was so intriguing! She also began to stamp down on her budding excitement from her discovery, lest she accidentally relay and build the sensations with Tygalt. Which brought to mind the next thing to inform the Bloodsworn about.“I have every confidence that you are unlikely to achieve that,” said Lyrica, “as you will find that Aldar are far more easy-going and accepting than most other races. Oh, it is perhaps a good time to explain how you can suppress the intensity of the bond. There are no doubt times and moments that this constant intimacy and awareness of one another can become...trying.”She closed her eyes for a moment, concentrating on the Bond, and essentially building a metaphorical mask around it, muting the bond. When she was confident Tygalt could feel something hiding her presence, feelings and the various shared senses from him, she then strengthened the mask, until the Bond felt almost completely gone, with only the barest hints that it was still there.“Can you feel that?” she asked as she opened her eyes and smiled, “It's easier for Force-Sensitives to feel and imitate, but any Bloodsworn or Bonded Aldar can do this to establish some privacy when needed. It is rarely done by the Aldar, but most Bloodsworn, especially those newly Bonded, may want time to themselves to...I suppose, to sort things out with the new lifestyle that sometimes comes with all this.”She removed the mask, and Tygalt would be able to feel her once again, “With this, you now know how to mask yourself from me if needed. But do understand, if you do this before letting me know, I may be concerned or...uhm...curious, and seek you out to find out what's wrong.”

It was a strange sensation as he felt the effects of their newly conjoined minds as they stood holding hands. Much like the Princess, he was feeling both her hands in his grip, but also his hands gripping her own. It felt strange and yet somewhat comforting. There was no real way to express how something felt when you had never experienced it before and no one was able to prepare you for it.
His smile faded for barely a moment, his eyebrow going up in confusion until he worked out just what exactly the Princess meant about being unlikely to achieve something due to how easy-going the Aldar were. But as best he could figure it, she meant he was unlikely to disappoint her. Causing his smile to reform even as she explained another attribute or ability of this new bond they shared.
As she closed her eyes, his expression slowly changed and his smile turned into a thin line as everything he had just started feeling a moment ago started to slip and fade away. It was honestly weird how much of a void something so new could leave. He nodded his head as she asked if he could feel it. Rather more accurately, the lack of it It feels... cold and empty... He tried to offer a smile back, but barely managed to lift the corners of his lips. It wasn't until the mask was lifted and he felt the connection once more, that he managed a more genuine and full smile. He let go of her hands and gave her another nod of understanding Of course. Although this connection is quite new, the void this connection leaves behind... I can understand why you would be concerned or curious if it was masked rather abruptly... I will certainly keep that in mind for if I ever find myself in need of having some time alone... Is there perhaps anything else I should know about this?

He raised an eyebrow for a moment as she smiled and spoke in his head. It sounded much clearer and stronger than any voice telepathy he'd experienced in the past. Something that took a great deal of time and bonding for a pair to form. But this, this was very different. This Bloodsworn binding was something quite unusual and continued to prove itself unique I see... I suspect this is something that would catch many by surprise... But something less challenging for those proficient with the Force already, huh?

And the Bonding?”As the last royal of the Aldar, anything involving her was understandably exciting and newsworthy.

He paused for a moment, smiling at the Princess as she clasped her hands and looked quite shy and nervous as she spoke. She looked cute and adorable, and pure. He offered up a hearty smirk as he crossed one hand up and across his chest, giving a short bow from his waist What sort of a Knight would I be if I were to defy a Princess... I serve at your pleasure. If you wish to celebrate, than we shall celebrate. He straightened back up and offered her a reassuring smile and nudge through their connection I suppose it would be a good way to meet your people and those I will serve alongside...

[ Princess Lyrica Starlight | Memorial Plaze | The Lords' District | Serenno ] Attn: Tygalt Stormburner “It is indeed the best way,” said Lyrica, “to be honest, we Aldar don't need much excuse to celebrate...anything. Just waking to see another day is a great joy.”At this revelation, Lyrica's joy at indeed awakening today and still drawing breath was flowing through her bond. When one was born with a death sentence hanging over their head, it probably made sense to appreciate everything and live every day like it was their last. More often than not, it was a high probability. Lyrica, who'd been using the Force more often, was dangerously close to her limit, as the Sith Curse grew stronger and more prevalent in her life. She lifted her breathing mask to her face to draw more oxygen in, and give some relief to her pained lungs for a while.
In the distance, the kingdom of the Aldar could be seen. Their rich, ornate and opulent towers and structures glistened in the light of day. Lyrica's steps guided them ever closer to the city's entrance.

Tygalt grabbed the reins of Orbak, his steed, before following alongside the Princess. Despite the Princess being something of a stranger to the Orbak, the creature gently nuzzled its snout against the Aldar's hair. Something which Tygalt could only put down to being something of a side effect of this new bond he now shared. Just as their minds and feelings were now shared, perhaps too part of their aura's were as well. Or perhaps the light that the Princess gave off calmed the beast. Whhat ever the case, he followed Lyrica as she led the way to the Aldar district
