Forged from finely honed and hardened Archonian steel, the elite flying fortresses formed a defensive line that was nigh-impenetrable. It was easily the most heavily armoured and shielded fighters of the times, capable of withstanding a brutal barrage and remain functional, plus able to give back as good as it got. The Aldar Jedi were not stingy in their application of steel plating and the most advanced shield systems, reputedly strong enough to withstand a direct turbolaser blast.
