*The office of the new Minister for Foreign Affairs, was large and spacious, but sparsely decorated, some might say bland. There was a large window covering one side of the room with a desk in front of it. In front of the desk where three chairs for visitors and to the side, overlooking the viewing window were two couches opposite one another. The walls were painted a simple white colour. On the other end of the room, opposite the desk was a moderately sized conference table.*

The officers diligently recorded the statements of the woman who identified herself as Jaina Fel, though Commander Shorn doubted the woman's use to the Coalition. She didn't seem to have served the First Order herself and so her usefulness would likely be minimal, aside from, perhaps the symbolism. After some more time passed, another entered the room. A brunette female in civilian attire. "Ms Fel," she said, an air of authority about her. She chose carefully to avoid using the title 'Baroness'. "My name is Alla Velar, Chief of Staff to Senator Salvor Argon, Foreign Minister of the Corellian Coalition," he paused and took a moment to look the woman over. "The Senator has decided to meet with you to discuss your request for asylum," she turned to the Commander. "Commander, please send your notes and report to the Senator's office so he can look it over while we are on our way," the woman's tone was sharp and to the point. "If you'll follow me please," she said leading Fel to a vehicle waiting outside. Shorn and her partner followed. Jaina inspected the room and the people in it carefully, trying to be atuned to the Force. She sensed skepticism towards her words and stance. It was good to understimate her. People always did it, she was used to such things. "Well met, Alla Velar"Her accent in basic was clearly Coruscanti, or at least had the fluctuations of the Core worlds. However, there were hints of something else, entirely. "I will gladly have a meeting with your senator"Jaina gets up, making sure her white shirt has remained properly unbottoned and follows the officer. She had gathered all her patience, for Jaine knew the ways of bureaucracy were slow. Eventually the vehicle arrives at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Velar leads the group through the halls towards Senator Argon's office. "Wait here, please," she says sternly before entering. A few minutes later, she returns. "The Senator is ready to see you now," she says indicating for Jaina to enter. The Commander and her partner wait outside.
The office was quite bland, a large window overlooked the city and there was a large desk, which like the rest of the room was mostly empty, there was a computer and several data pads but that as it. In front of the desk were three chairs. To the side, next to the window there were two couches.
The elder Senator was sitting behind the desk, peering at the computer screen. Velar approached and stood behind one of the chairs, waiting patiently to be acknowledged. After an awkward minute, the Senator looked up at Jain. "Ms Fel," he said with an inviting smile, "Please, sit down. Forgive me if I don't stand, age has not been kind to me," he said with a hint of sadness. "How was your trip here? Did the First Order, or Coalition forces give you much trouble?"

Jaina tried to very subtly probe the senator's intentions and he didn't seem hostile, so she relaxed slightly, both arms hanging at the sides of her body, calm.
"No need, I don't like courtesy, senator"
With an elegant move she buttoned her bluse slightly, acknowledging the formality of the meeting.
"Not at all. There's almost no ship that can outrun mine and I came from Sarapin, which remains unaligned"
She tooks a seat, legs crossed.
"I guess we have things to discuss, don't we"
The woman smiles, charming.

Argon hadn't made up his mind about Jaina yet. One the one hand, he welcome those who opposed the First Order and its tyrannical regime, but on the other he detested the idea of hereditary nobility. If she had nothing to offer the Coalition beyond her name he struggled to see how she could be of use to the Coalition. "Indeed, there is much to discuss," he nodded, "First, would you like a drink of some sort? Some refreshments?" he asked before continuing. "I have granted you Provisional Asylum," he said handing her a datapad with the appropriate paperwork signifying ministerial approval. "This means you will be allowed to stay here and be offered the protection of a Coalition citizen for the time being. We will also provide for temporary accommodation for you for the time being." He paused for a moment allowing her to look it over. "Permanent Asylum may take some time, the wheels of bureaucracy turn slowly." He paused again.
"I understand your defection is based on the assassination of your brother? Was there any other reason you decided to defect?" his tone remained friendly, he tried to avoid seeming as though he was interrogating her. He was simply a blunt and straight to the point man. "Why choose the Coalition over say another more neutral government?"

"No need, I'm fine"
She said.
"Good. Better than nothing I guess"
Jaina shrugs slightly, with a half-smile on her face.
"I realized the regime of the Fels is dead and what arose later is but a facade for self-serving authocrats, despots. Empress Marasiah ruled in a triumvirate, forms were observed and the Galaxy knew peace"
She inspects the elderly senator before her.
"But all that is gone, replaced by a system rotten to the core. They're but usurpers"
Jaina frowns, her vivacious eyes looking wrathful and sorrowful for a moment.
"I chose the Coalition because my blood is, after all, Corellian, and your regime is the only one powerful enough to resist the First Order. But... I did bring an enticement with me, to ease your mind. My bargaining chip, you could call it"
She produces an holoprojector, when it lits up it shows a Resurgent-class.
"Behold, the Soontir, my house's flagship. I don't defect alone, I brought my people. A legion of men, armored compliment, a powerful warship and dozens of starfighters"

"I see," he noted quietly as he inspected the image of the ship and contemplated the implications. Now we get to the interesting part, he thought. She was certainly smart, made sure to come bearing leverage. A Resurgent Class would no doubt be a major boon to the Coalition Navy. Sure, it would do little to change the balance, or rather imbalance of military power between them and the First Order, however it would serve as a powerful symbol for the Coalition, that not one, but two Resurgent's were in its Navy. Not to mention the Coalition needed every ship it could get if it was to have any chance of surviving a conflict with the First Order.
However, it was likely the First Order would be incensed by the defection and denounce it as theft, placing the Coalition in a difficult diplomatic position. That said, if the First Order wanted a war they would have one. In Salvor's estimation, it was unlikely that it would go to war over this, the Emperor was clearly focused inwards for the time being. He might complain but ultimately it was unlikely he would risk an all out war. So, in his opinion accepting the Soontir was worth it. He suspected, however, that it would come with strings attached.
"What is it you expect in return for bringing us this warship?" he asked cautiously.

"Not only the warship, intact, but all that it's within its belly, including the newly produced TIE Whisper"
She pointed out.
"...I want the Fel estates back"
The baroness said, leaning forward.
"To sustain myself and my household"
Jaina puts the holodisk back to wherever she had it before producing it.
"I also demand my people to be accepted into Coalition's military with unchanged role and office. Their allegiance is to the Fel, not Nicademus"
She then sighs, fatigued for the first time.
"And, to be honest, I would like a purpose, a role to fulfill in this tale"

"And, to be honest, I would like a purpose, a role to fulfill in this tale" Now we get to the details, Salvor thought. "I see," he said as he leaned back in his chair. He knew there would some twist, some demand that Fel would have in exchange for her assistance. Hereditary power was something Salvor despised deeply. Indeed, he viewed it as contrary to the Coalition's values of freedom and equality, though in practice the Coalition did include leaders and governments based on hereditary systems. Nevertheless he wasn't going to support simply handing the estates over like that. "The military is not within my portfolio and so I cannot make a decision like that, but I will talk to the Prime Minister and the Minister of Defence and recommend your forces be integrated in the Coalition Defence Force. Likely they will be required to undergo some sort of induction and integration program and it may take some time to vet your officers but I believe that can be done," he explained. They certainly needed all the help they could get. "As for your role...I am sure we can find something for you. What options did you have in mind?""Handing over the Fel Estates is also not within my power. I can again however, talk to the Prime Minister and offer my advice," he explained, "However, doing so will be difficult. I am unsure of their current status and will have to look into that. I believe they may be currently property of the state." Either that or they were in private use, which would make it even more difficult to hand them over, or they were perhaps in a state of disrepair, the Senator was unsure. "The issue is that the Coalition cannot simply give away such a prize. We are not the First Order, we do not hand out land, titles, and power based on cronyism, back-dealings and corruption. However, when we find you a place within the Coalition we can likely come to an arrangement. Perhaps the Estates could be used as a base for you and your men allowing you to stay there so long as you remain in service of the Coalition. I make no promises though, as it is not up to me," he said with a wave of his hand. Of course it was possible the Prime Minister would overrule him and simply grant the estates. It was also possible that Ms. Fel would be outraged by his opposition to granting that which she no doubt viewed as her "birthright", however he would bet she needed him and the Coalition more than they needed her.

"You offer me very little, almost nothing, in exchange of war material worth billions of credits"
Said Jaina, a hint of anger in her liliac eyes.
"And I see you don't hand out land and pretend to be holier-tha-thou, but, still you're dragged down by the maladies of bureaucracy"
She looked formidable when in anger. The datapad on the table even shakes a little. But the flame dies off rather quickly. Her eyes lose their fire.
"Alright... I came for justice, not things. I always had too many things, they're menial and unimportant to me. Do what you can. I think you'll eventually discover how to make this work"
Jaina looks to a side, pensive.
"I want to be trained, as a jedi knight. I was trained by the Imperial knights, but everyone knows they're a travesty, and I wasn't a good student. My training is incomplete"

Someone in your position cannot find a safer place in the galaxy." Her reaction was what Salvor had anticipated. She was not happy, but seemed astutely aware of the situation she was in.
"I would be happy to put you into contact with Master Franz and the Corellian Jedi Academy."

Her dauting eyes go back to Salvor. "I guess it's the price to be paid. I don't care much about any of those things I offered to you. I you want to use my ship to blow up other equally expensive ships, feel free to do as much"
Jaina said, sarcastically. "My pleasure. I bet he will be a good acquaintance"She moves on the chair, changing posture. "Is, thus, my nationality as a true Corellian acknowledged? I can show you my ancestry, if you wanted"
Jain adds, sardonically.

Jain adds, sardonically. As distasteful as Salvor personally found the concept of Ms Fel mattering purely because of the circumstances of her birth, he knew that while I should not matter it would matter, at least for the purposes of propaganda, as she pointed out. He ignored the young woman's sarcasam and addressed her final point. "Indeed, your nationality as a citizen of the Corellian Republic, and thus the Coalition, is recognised. We'll have to authenticate it, but that's just paperwork I see no issue as likely to arise."

"I'm glad"
She said, playfully. Fel had the blood of Solo, Fel and Antilles running through her veins -no matter how diluted- and all the three were Corellians.
"Better not, I have no patience for paperwork"
The baroness uncrossed her legs and stands on her feet, a hand placed over the desk.
"Do I trust I will be unimpeded on my way out, doesn't it?"
She arched an eyebrow, a perfect architecture over the liliac eye.
"As much as I trust I will hear from you and the Jedi in no time"
The woman starts putting on the driving fingerless gloves she wore before entering the facility.
