Description:
The Steadfast Fleet Carrier was a call back and homage to the Rebellion and early New Republic tactic of fighter superiority. To accomplish this it took notes from the Venator-Class SD and expanded upon it. Much of the ship was a massive hanger bay. It could be sectioned off by blast doors and ray shields if there ever was a breach. It had multiple points of entry and exit for fighter craft along both sides of it’s hull. It also borrowed the opening dorsal doors that could open in just a section or nearly the whole length of the ship. The lower decks were devoted to the facilities any warship required: Dorms, mess, command center, engineering, and so on. And if her hanger didn’t make her unique enough, the ship boasted engines facing both the front and rear. The ship was fairly fragile due to all the weak points in her hull, so the duel facing engines would compensate by allowing quick arrival and exit from the battle field. Her overall speed and agility were also increased to aid in the survivability.
A Steadfast could carry 500 marines, due to the large space needed to house the many fighter pilots and other personnel. The complement of fighters, however, far exceeded anything of its class. It could carry, at maximum, 480 fighters, or 40 twelve fighter squadrons. The ship had little armament, relying on speed and its complement to carry the day. Though it had 40 point defense laser cannons and 12 tractor beam projectors.
