*The Enclave... their target and destination lay before them. Meagerly defended, already assaulted by the First Order's bombers, the signs of which were clear in the smoking crust that was once field, and the scars upon the edifice. Soku, Derel, and Captain Arin stood with General Caalin, observing the might of the First Order descending upon the foolish Jedi and their pitiful military aid that awaited their swift end. Things were proceeding exceedingly well, and it was time for the Knights of Ren and Thriesa Company to do their part.*
"I make no promises," *Soku answered the General's request to leave some for his men.* "I will follow the course most suitable for order and victory." *At the offering of Dark Troopers, he looked over them. There had been a handful of them aboard the train at Garqi, but they had been defeated despite odds in their favor... one by a child, no less. There were significantly more present now, but...* "I trust they will not meet the same failure as those who served at Garqi," *was his only comment.*
"But now, we march," *he declared, turning back toward the Enclave.*
"You heard the man," *Captain Arin announced to his stormtroopers,* "fall in line! To battle we march!"
*His words were met by a rousing battle cry from the entirety of Thriesa company. Soku removed his curved lightsaber hilt from his belt and ignited the orange blade as he began the march, Derel following beside him with his unlit lightwhip hilt in hand. Captain Arin marched behind him, leading his men into battle. What little defenses that stood in their way were cast aside by the Knights or their troops, little issue to the battle-tested men that marched on the Enclave, prepared to show them the full might of the First Order...*

Kortos groggily opened one of his eyes just in time to watch the antiquated ARC-170 Starfighter appear from almost out of nowhere, as it managed to harass the group of TIE Bombers which would have been his demise. It was like watching something out of a holo-pic, where a lone fighter pilot managed to save the lives of a group of heroes on the ground. Kortos had managed to come to as the starfighter broke off towards the city, giving only a simple thumbs up as her message played over the comms. He knew this fight wasn't over though, as the last of the bombers assaulted the Enclave and its defences. It was then he turned his gaze to the building, which had been hit quite heavily. Sections of the facade had been blown apart, whilst others were sliding off into piles of rubble "Sahiir!" He started back towards the Enclave at a run, dodging the lines of defences as he activated his comm piece to the Enclave defence forces Pull back to the Enclave! I repeat, pull back to the Enclave! Carry any wounded you can! There was a series of yes sir's, and affirmatives from various commanders as they rallied their troops and complied with Knight Vel's orders. With Sahiir likely out of duty, he was currently the unofficial ranking officer, so he had to do right by these men and women. It was then, that one of the Alliance biker's came up alongside him and gave him a lift back to the Enclave. It was there, that crews were already working to make their way through the rubble and pull out any survivors. The speeder bike had barely stopped, when Kortos launched himself forth to aide in getting down to the lower levels. Meanwhile, those few Alliance forces that were still able, began to re-man the trench's and other defence emplacements close to the Enclave. They all knew they wouldn't earn themselves a victory, but they weren't just about to lay down their arms and surrender. If the Imperials wanted a fight, they could be damned well sure they would get one.
Thankfully, the combined efforts of the Alliance crews and Kortos didn't take long to breach down to the lower level, with even less time being taken to breach the command center. Parts of the roof had caved in, whilst other equipment had been prey to power overloads. Bodies lay half crushed by debris, whilst officers tried to tend to their wounded fellows. It was in the middle of all this, that Kortos found Sahiir laying unconcious next to the central display. He vaulted past everyone and knelt beside her, taking one of her hands in his own, before a smile crept across his face as he sensed life still in her "Sahiir! Sahiir! Wake up!" Slowly she opened her eyes, blinking a few times to try and gain focus. She stared at the roof for a moment, before her head tilted to the side, and she saw Kortos kneeling over her. She almost wanted to accept that he was alive, to believe that he was really there with her. He's dead, you killed him, you sent him to his death. Slowly it all came to her, the truth of what was happening right now. It wasn't Kortos - not really. It was merely her guilt conjuring forth his likeness. But for now, it was enough for her, as she raised a hand and placed it on his cheek "Forgive me... I... I killed you..." He could sense she was not at all fine, and it wasn't because of her injuries. He could sense anothers presence focusing upon her, sinking her further into some delerium. The Imperials seemed to have a strong Force User amongst them, capabale of extreme telepathy. Undoubtedly some Sith Lord, or perhaps one of those Knights of Ren he had heard about. Either way, he needed to free Sahiir of their control, but right now, he didn't have the time he would need to do it properly. He smiled down at her, hoping to reassure her "You didn't kill me... Rest now, we'll get you somewhere safe" Sahiir's strength seemed to leave her then as her hand dropped from his face and she looked back up at the ceiling "Yes... Somewhere safe..." As she drifted off, Kortos closed his eyes, focusing upon the force. Calming himself, he opened his eyes again, before gathering Sahiir up and making his way to the surface. Already a dozen or so salvageable vehicles had been gathered together and loaded with as many wounded as possible. Kortos moved to the front of the convoy, and entrusted Sahiir to the lead speeder bike "Make sure they get to Garang. We'll provide what ever distraction we can, so that you can escape. Understood!" The Soldier gave a nod, before Kortos gave them the all clear gesture. The shabby convoy took off away from the Enclave, going through a path that had incidentally been cleared by the TIE bombers. As they started to fade from sight, Kortos turned his attention to the Khoonda Plains. Imperial ground forces had already started to assemble their artillery lines, with Smiletroopers advancing across the remnants of the otuer defences. Kortos grabbed his dual sabers and ignited the pair of sapphire blades as he opened the comm link to the forces that remained We fight for freedom! For reason! For peace! Our enemy came seeking death! So let us oblidge them their wish! If they wish to take this Enclave, then we shall make them bleed for it! For everyone one of ours, we shall take ten of theirs! A shout went up from the meagre Allaince defences, before the Imperial forces entered firing range and the lines were brought together. Kortos meanwhile set his gaze upon the darksider at the forefront of the Imperial Forces. Even at this range, he could recognize the man that the Jedi Order knew to be one of the first Knights of Ren "Time to see just how good you really are..." Kortos charged across the defense line, crossing the field towards the Knight, sapphire blades trailing in his wake before he came to a stop several feet away. His lightsabers snapped up into a guard to block any blaster bolts some foolish smiletrooper might try fire at him "It appears your troopers already know how much of a joke you lot are, with a grin like that plastered on their helmets!"

* As he breaks through the cloud cover, Synar could see that down below him; he was already way past time for curtain call. From what he could tell the Imperial forces had given the Enclave and the surrounding area a good beating with their bombers. It was a simple but overwhelming tactic that the Empire and its subsequent branches had used in great effectiveness against smaller forces. Continually barrage the enemy with higher amounts of resources util the defenders gave in or where destroyed, even though it looked like the Jedi had not given up; their destruction was yet to be seen. And of course not if he could help it.
Typing in a sequenced code in the command console, R8 opens a comm to the Enclave and then sends out a jamming signal to block any unfriendly ears from listening. Synar knows that being spotted on his approach to the Enclave could not be avoided, so it would be best to get their as quickly as possible. Synar speaks into his headset and sends a message to any comm system inside the Jedi Enclave. *
:: This is Jedi Knight Synar Blackfyre , I am approaching the Enclave and will be landing to assist in defensive operations .....Don't Shoot please:::
* With his message sent, Synar pushes the star fighter down further and continues to decrease elevation. Getting closer to the Enclave by the moment, Synar could see that the Imperials had already amassed a large number of troops there and it seemed like the battle would begin at any moment. With R8 getting no reports of activity anywhere else near by, Synar guessed guessed to himself that this where the Imperials where going to show force and make their push. It made sense to him, for destroying the Jedi stronghold on a planet would greatly demoralize any populace and almost in return provide a guaranteed planetary surrender. If only the Jedi themselves where not so scattered across the galaxy and became united just as their enemies had, it would make things a lot less one sided that id for sure.
Suddenly green flashes erupt around the the outside of the cockpit, and Eta-2 Interceptor rocks violently back and forth. Muscle memory and instinct kicks in as Synar sends the fighter into a barrel roll then a dive. The evasive maneuver only provides Synar a few moments of safety before the screams of alarms again filled his ears. Of course the Imperials would have squadrons of Tie Fighters patrolling for enemy aircraft, but at this elevation Syanr knew that these Imps where not on patrol...they where hunting. If search and destroy orders like that where being given to all the Imperial Forces then it would make things far more interesting. Synar rips his headset off and turns the controls over to R8, sparks begin to fly from inside the cockpit and the star fighter was now leaving trails of black smoke in its wake. His ship was done, but he wasn't out of the fight yet. *
" R8 blow it "
* Synar pulls the escape latch and cockpit bursts open. The winds rip him out of the star fighter and into a free fall. R8 pulls up and sends the ship into a steep climb, the attacking Tie fighters follow in pursuit as Synar watches with a slight smirk on his face. Syn gathers the force to him grasping upon its raw power and begins to slow his descent. After a few split seconds, Synar lands in a crouch on the surface. Standing up, he stretches and brushes the dust off of himself. The landing had not been the most comfortable of experiences but at least he wasn't dead. The only down fall was going into battle now feeling slightly drained for it took a bit more power then he would have liked to used this early on in order to stop himself. Synar looks out across the plain and can see only a few hundred yards from him a Jedi with twin sapphire blades confront the enemy. Synar focuses on the here and now and clears his mind for the battle to come, grasping his lightsaber hilt in his right hand he runs towards the lone Jedi defender. Crossing the distance in roughly 45 seconds, he slows himself to halt about 10 feet behind the Jedi and walks forward coming up to stand a few feet to the right of him *
" Mind if I join in "
* Syn thumbs the activation switch on his lightsaber and with a snap hiss its white blade comes to life, he drawn the force to him opening himself up to its power and storing within himself. Syn takes a two handed defensive fighting stance *

*The two Knights of Ren, Thriesa Company, and their captain continued to march, even as the battered Enclave's pitiful defenses attempted to regroup, as the TIEs above hunted down an oh-so-stereotypical Jedi starfighter. A relic of a religion whose numbers would pilot a relic of a ship... truly a testament to how they no longer belonged in this galaxy. They had been purged on Deralia, and they shall be purged here today; none of them were safe.
And the Sith... their time would come as well. But one frail establishment at a time, and the Sith, as similarly broken as their beliefs were, could still be of use in the path to order.
His mind returned to the present with another Jedi demonstrating his foolishness, dashing toward the enemy horde on his own, two blades of blue his armament. He stopped to taunt them, commenting on the "grin" spread across the helmets of the troopers. Ah, yes... "smiletroopers," or "smilies," they had been dubbed, courtesy of the brat on Garqi. If insults of appearance were all this Jedi could muster, Soku was disappointed, albeit a smug smirk appeared on his features regardless.
The Jedi was joined by another, the one from the archaic fighter that had been chased from the fray. Soku and the company had halted their march at their approach, the lead Knight of Ren's orange saber humming idly. Derel Ren took a step forward, the Rodian seeming eager to fight, but Soku lifted his free hand and held him back. The Rodian frowned at him, but Soku only continued to smirk. The human turned his head toward the trooper captain and gave a curt nod, the latter returning the nod before giving a signal to his troops. Derel stood behind Soku and Soku raised his blade in defense as the lead line of ten troopers brought their riot shields to bear and knelt. The line behind them also knelt, aiming their blaster rifles over the shoulders of their defenders, with the third line also shouldering their rifles.
Twenty blaster rifles opened fire upon the two Jedi that dared stand in the way of the Company.*

* Syn's blade dances through the air like a leaf on the wind as he deflects the incoming blaster fire, though at the moment he could keep up with the barrage; Synar knew that if this kept on for to long he would be overwhelmed. His thoughts race quickly on the situation but he remains focused at the task at hand. The battlefield needed to be changed if he and the other Jedi where to survive, for he needed to bring the fight into close quarters and the current terrain did not provide that advantage. Though he could rush forward into the enemy lines, he would only be able to take down a handful of the enemy before he would inevitably be surrounded and killed. Synar continues to defelct the blast fire coming at him trying to send some of the bolts back at the enemy as he speaks to his fellow Jedi next to him*
" We need to fall back !!! it of no use to die out here !!!"
* Synar calls upon everything he has in and opens himself up to the force, what he was planning was a gamble at best it was his only hope in stalling the enemy long enough for him to retreat back into the enclave. Syn stretches out his left hand and lets loose a violently powerful force wave at the First Order troops, focusing the blast forward it would be strong enough to throw back or at least push the first few ranks of the imperials and putting them into a moment of disarray.
Breathing heavily, Synar turns on his heel *
" Now is our chance!!! Move !!!"
* Synar keeps his lightsaber ignited in his right hands and sprints towards the enclave ready to deflect and blaster fire that may be aimed at him as he makes his retreat. Synar can feel his body begin to burn from the inside as it strains to keep up with his use of the force. He only needed to make it to the enclave then he could gather himself, as his speed increases his body begins to fuel hunger of the force in order to keep up his speed.

"Welcome to the party..." Was his response to the new Jedi's question. When he had rushed out to meet the approaching lines in battle, he hadn't much thought through how the ensuing meeting would play out. But, as the twenty stormtroopers leveled their rifles in two lines towards him and his unnamed ally, Kortos knew this was not it. If there had been fewer of their enemy - maybe four or five apiece - they may have been able to block it. But at this close a range, and with that many guns. Suffice to say, there was no deflecting them all, not even with his dual sabers "Well shit..." Kortos deactivated his sapphire blades, before raising his hand out to the side - towards Synar. He could sense his companion was about to attempt a rather impossible and foolish task. He then let loose a force push in an attempt to send Synar over into the trench to his right side, whilst he simultaneously used the force to aide himself in jumping to the trench to his own left. Blaster bolt fire filled the air, passing mere inches from him, with a few hits grazing his clothing. The ground suddenly rushed up to meet him as he landed with a dull thud into the trench. His body ached from the impact, but he knew he was still far too exposed. Pulling himself as best he could, Kortos scrambled for better cover. He passed through a couple connecting tunnels between some of the lines of trenches, before stopping. He had hopefully brought the Enclave enough time to finish preparing for the slaughter that was about to befall them. There was no getting out of this, for any of them

*Before Synar could make it more then a few feet, he is thrown by a force push into a nearby trench on his right side. Synar feels his feet lift of the ground as his moved through the air by the power of the force. Landing with a thud on the hard ground inside the trench, Synar struggles to catch his breath as the wind was knocked out of him on impact. Deactivating his lightsaber, Synar crawls behind Kortos into the tunnels of the trenches. Synar hunkers down in the tunnel in a small crouch and looks at his fellow Jedi and gives him a curt nod*
" Thanks"
*Synar looks back down the tunnel the which they came then back at Kortos*
"They most likely use grenades or flamethrowers to get us out of these tunnels and back out into the open, we need to keep moving....hopefully we make it back to the Enclave then fall back to Garang"
*Synar controls his breathing, calming himself and lets his body begin to recooperate. He knew he would only have a few moments before they would be on the move again, so he used that time to let the force fill him and try to regain as much stamina as possible*
" The name is Synar by the way...call my Syn"

*Soku watched with a sadistic smirk as the pair of Jedi could do nothing more than escape into the trench, one rather unceremoniously forcing the other ahead before narrowly escaping the Company's fire. He signaled with his hand and the blaster fire ceased, the lead troopers standing. Soku chose not to direct them to use grenades in the trenches; it was very well possible the Jedi were expecting such a maneuver with the intent to use their weapons against them.*
"Continue marching," *he directed his men, and as one their march began anew. The Enclave was in utter ruins now, with whatever measly defenses left no doubt taking up positions and preparing for their last stand. This would be a glorious day for the First Order indeed...*

Kortos' arm swung out as he planted it across Synar's chest, stopping his fellow Jedi from moving. He waited with baited breath until he was certain that the Knights of Ren and their platoon had passed them by, engaging the remnant of the Enclave defences. His gaze then settled on Synar as he removed his arm and sat opposite the man in the tunnel. He suppressed a laugh then, as his fellow Jedi still seemed intent on falling back to the Enclave and the Garang "You sure picked a fine spot to land, if you were looking for Garang... If you haven't noticed, we're quite outnumbered here. This, right now? this is how the enclave ends my friend..." He wasn't going to sugar coat it for his naive fellow Jedi. But in that same breath, Synar was no use to him with such idealism. If the man wanted to get to Garang, then Kortos would oblige him, especially since he could take down some of the First Order troops in the process "If you really want to get to Garang though, you have a lot of ground to cover. So you better start moving... Next time you land in such a fight though, be prepared for the eventuality you're not going to make it out. Now run!" He gave Synar a tap on the shoulder then, before rushing out of the tunnel and jumping up out of the trench. This was the most idiotic and suicidal thing he had ever done. One lone Jedi about to charge the front lines of the Imperial advance. There were a lot worse ways to go out, he thought as he drew his pair of sabers. The sapphire blades igniting once more as he used the force to assist his speed, charging across the trenches and jumping over bits of monofilament razor wire. He had hoped to see Sahiir one last time before he died. To see her smile and feel the softness of her lips beneath his. To join his body in union with hers one final time. But that was not meant to be, as he did his best to deflect the spray of blaster bolts coming at him. As he leapt through the air, he felt a bolt pass through his calf muscle, before it all went black as he sailed towards the ground and into a trench, his lightsabers extinguishing as they fell from his grip

* Syn watches as Kortos leaps out of the tunnel and to certain death. May the force be with you he whispers, Synar didn't want to dwell on it any longer, gathering himself up he moves through the tunnel system away from the Imperial forces. Sensing himself out of danger for the moment through the force, Syn crawls out of the tunnel and out of a trench. Synar with the aid of the force runs towards Garang *

Caalin, who was overseeing the general advance of Imperial forces towards the Enclave, skirmishing with what minor defense there was present, would be notified of an order by an Imperial officer. The General takes the message on his comlink, listening to it quietly for a moment. It was a direct order from the Supreme Commander and its message was very clear and blunt. Once Caalin gave his acknowledgement of the order, he tuned his comlink to the frequency used by the Imperial forces present at the Enclave. His cold voice would ring within the helmets of every Stormtrooper and to Soku Ren and his soldiers.
We have been given an extermination order by the Supreme Commander. All Imperial forces are hereby ordered to bring ruin to the Enclave and kill every defender; no quarter is to be given, no mercy shown. Every last defender will die within the smoldering ruins of this complex. General Caalin out.
With the extermination order given, the Imperial forces would begin a brutal offensive, with the vanguard being the detachment of Dark Troopers that stood as tanks for the advancing infantry. Caalin watched as the perimeter defenses seemingly melted away now with the renewed aggression from his troops. Rebels that came out of their holes and defensive posts, hands high in the air, were shot immediately and given no chance to surrender. After a moment, Caalin keys his comlink and speaks to Soku.
The Supreme Commander already knows of your intentions, but he will affirm your goals by giving the order to kill every Jedi, leave not a single Padawan alive. He is deploying some specialized Death Squads to aid in the termination of the Jedi presence on this world. Let us send a clear message to these Jedi scum!

*The Company was disciplined and prepared. The moment the Jedi had dared show his face once more, they had all stopped, the outermost line turning and firing upon the returning assailant. He did not last long, taking at least one blow and disappearing into a trench, the light from his blades extinguishing. No words were spared as the Company scanned the premises for a moment longer, then resumed their march on the remains of the Enclave.
It was then that the extermination order, relayed by General Caalin, entered the helmets and headpieces of every member of the advancing company. It had already been Soku's intention to eliminate every last defender of the Enclave; every foolish Jedi and those that dared to stand with the archaic religion.* "He has no need to doubt my dedication to destroying anyone who stands in the way of order," *he replied to the private communication,* "and those who actively blockade the progress."
*What followed was a massacre. Thriesa Company was not without its casualties, but they were paltry compared to the havoc they and the two Knights of Ren, Soku and Derel, wreaked upon what little defenses remained of the once "proud" Enclave. It had previously been in ruins for millennia; the Jedi should have left it be. Now, the First Order would ensure the remnants would be beyond restoration, little more than a pile of smoldering rubble and corpses. What little Jedi resistance remained was no threat, finding themselves cleaved by Soku's blade, lashed to death by Derel's whip, or blasted into oblivion by Thriesa's gunfire.
When the silence fell, Soku stood upon the battleground, senses extending throughout the surrounding area. The scent of death was heavy; the reaper had made a bountiful harvest.* "Sir," *came Arin's voice as the stormtrooper captain approached the Knight.* "Our scans indicate all defenses neutralized. Not a soul remains, besides ours."
"Very good," *Soku replied, a smile coming to his lips, reaching for his commlink.* "We are victorious here, then." *Lifting the commlink for his lips, he began to make his report.* "The Jedi Enclave has been captured and all defenses destroyed."
*His words were interrupted by the sound of displaced rubble and an angry yell as a survivor burst forth, lunging for Soku. The lash of a lightwhip, however, met the assailant's face and torso, sending his now-charred form sprawling across the ruined ground. He was finished off by the rifles of Captain Arin and the handful of stormtroopers gathered.
Soku only smirked.* "Sorry. Now all defenses have been destroyed. Awaiting further instruction."

Though they had passed over many sights of ruination and devastation on their journey from Garang to the ruins of the Enclave, seen the scars that the battle with the First Order's forces have left upon Dantooine - once a pleasant world of scenic grasslands, tranquil rivers, and placid lakes that has been made over now into a war torn, ravaged portrait of what could pass in many cultures for hell - Arduino finds himself unprepared to see the smoldering, corpse strewn ruins of the Jedi Enclave, the reports he had heard insufficient to capture the ruthless, brutal, and thorough devastation the Knights of Ren and First Order had visited upon it.
"By the Force . . ." Arduino breathes softly after setting the Crix-class diplomatic courier shuttle down and disembarking from it, standing at the foot of the boarding ramp and looking at the ruins from ground level, and wondering how to begin searching through them for the bodies of the Jedi that were slain so that he, Berdine, and Jyotish can give them the Jedi funeral rites.

Knowing that there are no words that could make the grim work ahead of them any easier, Berdine says nothing as she walks up beside Arduino, feeling just as stricken as he looks to be as they look out upon the shattered, bombed out, smoking rubble which is all that remains of the Enclave, the broken, bloodied, and torn bodies of fallen Jedi Knights, Masters and Padawans visible here and there amidst the torn, scorched earth and the broken stone and glass of the Enclave.
Pointing to a hilly rise hundreds of yards from the ruins of the Enclave, beyond the trenches and other defenses that failed to halt the merciless advance of the First Order and Knights of Ren sent to lay waste to the Enclave and all in it, Master Jyotish says, "There," to indicate where they will lay their fallen brethren to rest upon their funeral pyres. The Zabrak Master silently removes his hooded outer robe and then makes his way towards the charred body of a male Jedi, face hideously scarred by what looks to be the lash of a lightwhip, to begin the work they have come to do.
"I'll start building the pyres," Berdine says softly, resting a hand on Arduino's shoulder briefly before she sets out to gather what she needs for the construction of the funeral pyres.

When the grisly work is done, and all of the remains of their fellow Jedi which they are able to find have been placed on individual funeral pyres, Arduino and comrades light the fires one by one and then watch them burn in silence. The Enclave on Dantooine was small in comparison to others, and yet still large enough that Arduino did not know all the students, Knights, and Masters that were residents of Dantooine by face or name; and only by working together with Berdine and Jyotish is he able to compile a list of the Jedi and students confirmed to have fallen when the Enclave fell to the First Order and Knights of Ren. Comparing the list of the Jedi he, Berdeine and Jyotish give the Jedi funeral rites to, adding to it the list of Jedi known to have fought (and in some instances fallen) in the battle for Garang or with Alliance forces operating elsewhere on Dantooine, against Enclave residential and student rosters, Arduino learns that there are a few Jedi unaccounted for; some perhaps having been killed in the fighting and not yet reported as such, others maybe still in the field with Alliance forces that have yet to report in for one reason or another.
As the fires of the funeral pyres begin to burn out, their glow growing dim even though smoke continues to rise into the night sky, Arduino feels a heaviness settle over his mind to match the dull, aching weighted feeling that stiffened his muscles; he knows feeling grief or loss would be appropriate, perhaps even anger, but what he mainly feels is weariness, overwhelming weariness that he knows he cannot allow to overcome his resolve to find a way to combat the First Order and the Knights of Ren that have allied with them. It is not vengeance that compels Arduino to find a way to stand with the Alliance to prevent the First Order from spreading its blight to other worlds, but rather his inability to remain at the remove from universal events at large being at the Enclave on Dantooine has permitted him to do.
Jyotish, as the most senior member of the Order on Dantooine, will, Arduino fervently hopes, report in to the High Council soon, and be given their new orders. With the Order's stance with the Alliance, Arduino feels there is a good chance that he will get his wish to stand against the First Order and its allies.
Once the fires begin to fade, and the flickering orange and yellow glow from the dying flames dims, Arduino reaches up to lift his hood over his head as he turns from the pyres to make his way back to their shuttle to prep it for the journey back to Garang . . .

Turning from the flickering flames of the pyres as she hears the rustling of fabric accompanying Arduino's departure for their ship, Berdine watches her fellow Jedi walk into the shadows waiting beyond the glow of firelight, frowning in concern as she asks Master Jyotish, "Will he be alright, do you think?"
"Will any of us? sighs the Zabrak, shaking his head and waving the remark away with a scowl of distaste for the momentary loss of faith in the ideals he has sworn to uphold he believes the comment suggested. He has the Code, and he has both of us to help him follow it, Jyotish says after a moment, hoping his tone is more certain than he feels that the Jedi Code and their companionship will prove capable of preventing Arduino from stumbling from his path after all that has happened. Resting a hand on the Morganian's shoulder comfortingly, Jyotish says, Come, we have done what we came to do, and should start looking ahead."
Falling into step beside the Zabarak as they set out to follow Arduino, Berdine asks, "Has there been any word from the Council? Will they keep us together, or . . ."
Shaking his horned head, Jyotish says, "Nothing yet, and I cannot guess whether or not they will give us all different assignments. We'll know when the time comes, and must trust their judgement where such things are concerned however, so I'd suggest you focus instead on what we can do in the here and now. There are wounded still in need of our skills, for instance."
Summoning a half-hearted smile to convey that she understands the Jedi Master's point, Berdine says, "Of course, Master. Thank you, she adds, grateful that Jyotish has refocused her attention and energies on matters she has some degree of control over rather than wasting both on speculation and idle fears. Once aboard the ship, she heads to the cockpit as Jyotish heads aft for reasons of his own, and Berdine settles herself in the co-pilot's seat as she asks Arduino, referring as much to piloting the ship as to his troubled expression and demeanor, Need any help?"

Shaking his head as he completes the last of the prep work necessary to take their Crix-class diplomatic courier shuttle up from its make-shift landing zone amidst the smouldering remains of the Jedi Enclave, Arduino leans forward to bring the ships repulsorlifts online. Knowing that Berdine is likely to taken his silence as reproach even though it is not intended as such, Arduino searches for some task he can assign to her so that does not feel slighted, ultimately telling her softly, "Actually, if you could keep an eye on the sensors and an ear out for any comm chatter, that would be appreciated. There are still Alliance troops and Jedi unaccounted for that we might be able to help," Arduino explains, bringing the shuttle onto a course for Garang once it has lifted off.
Arduino, knowing that his friend is almost certainly struggling with the same emotions as he, opens his mouth to say something meant to offer comfort to Berdine, but no words come to him, and he closes it without saying anything. Losing so many fellow Jedi, and so many members of the Alliance e that they have fought alongside, is too large and raw a wound, Arduino thinks as he focuses on the task of piloting the shuttle, for words to prove a salve for, at least for now. Time, Arduino has lived long enough to have learned, may eventually help the losses they have suffered scab over, but for now the only choice would seem to be to bear down and endure. Endure and hope the Force will lead them to a time and play where they might be Its instruments in delivering justice to the First Order and their allies.
Continues here . . .

Picas had spent much time away from the enclave, as had Wyt and Karrus. They had all went on their separate missions; Picas was to find them a ship. He had done so, too; an old and battered SkyBlind, but one that would fit his intended purpose neatly. The Historian was well versed in combat, but this was now behind him. He wanted to bring balance to the Force and help others in need, and he wanted to do it as non-violently as possible.
Wyt had left on a two-year journey to learn more about the Force and where he saw himself within it. Picas had spent most of his life switching 'sides', as it were, between the Light and Dark and already had that painful process. Karrus had given up the Sith so that they could be together, and made a damn good Jedi, if not a traditional one. Wyt was still young, though, and needed that journey.
Karrus' mission was more dangerous, as would befit a former Sith Lord. He had taken it upon himself to look visit various dark-side worlds and try to get information on the prominent Sith Lords of today's factions, so that they were better armed with information if the galaxy were to break out in war.
Picas' companions were nowhere to be seen, and the Enclave before him was in ruins. What had happened?!

It could be better described as a sacking. Not entirely destroyed, but there had been a battle here. Picas could deal with a damaged Enclave; it was damaged when he first arrived from the Netherworld, but not like this. It was uninhabitable. Small fires still ate away at what combustible fuel was left outside. The landing pad was in ruins, with the remains of what looked like a Corellian freighter in pieces occupying his view. Picas was no expert and did not pretend to know how this occurred.
Some bodies lay strewn here and there. Some deaths were clearly the result of blaster bolts, but some were burnt beyond recognition. He could see no obvious lightsaber markings or dismemberments, which raised more questions than it did answers. Picas headed towards the entrance. He was already forming priorities in his shocked mind. If the Enclave was in ruins, then as a Historian it was his duty to try and save as much information from the archives as possible. His slow walk became quicker with purpose.

The Jedi must have rebuilt in Picas' absence. Whoever had attacked had done so indiscriminately; robed bodies littered the courtyard and militia defenders had been gunned down at their posts. Picas dare not open his senses, lest his soul be jabbed by the residual Force energy often left at the places of tragedies. The eternal final gasps of pain or surprise on the dead faces affected him enough. "What happened here?"
Picas kept his hopes of finding anyone alive to a minimum. Whoever had attacked the Enclave had done so with complete destruction in mind; perhaps even targeting Jedi all over the world. It was an option he could not discount. Whoever had done this had the resources of a world or more, and that was worrying. Picas himself may be in danger at that very moment.
Not that Picas was not accustomed to being in danger. He gently stepped over a visiting official from Garang - simply in the wrong place at the wrong time - and headed to the archives.
