Ronin gave a nod before turning and making his way into the ship. He had much to think about, and a leg to heal

Vee watched the ongoing investigation as she waited for Ronin to enter the ship.She would hang around and see if she was needed any longer before she went in to grab her alcohol. Plus, it would give Ronin time to get settled in so she wouldn't have to run into him again. It seemed as if the security team was making progress now, holopads being put away and clean up initiating. She would need to stay up and watch the ship, at least until Sven and the mercs got back and could do it themselves in shifts. She doubted she was going to get much sleep until they were finally underway.
She waited just a few minutes longer, then headed for the gangplank. She quickly jogged to her and Don's (or was it Sven's now?) quarters and rooted around in her bag for the tihaar. Finding it, she immediately unscrewed the cap and took a bigger drink then she could handle, sputtering a bit while she fought the urge to spit it out. It burned going down, but she suddenly felt far more relaxed, the knots in her stomach loosening and the tension in her muscles starting to melt away. She headed back outside and perched on a smaller crate, taking another, but smaller, swallow of the liquor. She sat it aside while she pulled her com out yet again. This time, she was successful in getting her co-pilot.
Don, I need you, right now. She choked out the words, dismissing his alor'ad jib.

Olaror, olaror, olaror...Don muttered under his breath as the taxi did it's best to speed to the spaceport. <C'mon, c'mon, cmon'...>
Don was out of the cab before it came to a complete stop, throwing creds at the driver before sprinting around people on the sidewalk, bumping into a few, and running into the port. He didn't slow as he bolted down it's halls, their bay easy to distinguish for the city security that was milling around outside. They tried to stop him as he dashed up. I'm the co-pilot, Don V'hett. He quickly yanked his ID out and pushed in in their faces. Good enough for you?
He pushed through them, his eyes searching for his captain. It only took a second, she was seated criss-cross on a small crate by the gangplank, bottle of alcohol - probably tihaar - in hand, drinking from it generously as she stared at the crew cleaning up bodies and their parts.This wasn't good. He jogged to her. Vee...what's going on?He came to an abrupt halt to her right, grabbing her by her shoulders, spinning her around to face him. Are you hurt?His dark eyes scanned her face hastily before moving back slightly and examining her body.

Vee couldn't help but stare at the bodies, taking a large sip of the alcohol straight from the bottle in intervals.The more she drank, the worse she felt about the situation and the more she blamed herself. Those people weren't going to go home to their families, and it was all her fault. She knew this was going to be a dangerous haul, she should have stayed with the boat, spoke with Don and Sven here. At the same time, she was relieved they weren't involved. For some reason, she couldn't get the image of Don's dead body out of her head. Sven would be alright though...he had that armor and had been in the war. He might be able to stand up to a Sith. But Don couldn't, could he? Those mercs, sure, but not the Sith. Her mind wandered down these pointless rabbit holes, her guilt increasing by the second.
She heard Don's voice just seconds before his strong hands grabbed her. A pang of relief coursed through her at seeing his concerned face. No, I'm fine, I'm fine. Her voice came out far more feeble than she expected, but this was Don. She knew he wouldn't judge her. She jumped off the crate, loosing her balance slightly and falling harder into Don than she wanted as she wrapped her arms around his neck and buried her face there. A Sith and a few mercs came, they killed all the remaining docking crew and almost took the ship and cargo. Her voice was muffled into his shoulder, steadily growing with emotion. They killed all the crew, and it's my fault, it's my fault Don...we could have lost our jobs for this too. She stifled a sob as she slowly pulled back, running her bandaged hands over her face. We need to have a watch on the ship at all times now, especially now that we know what we're dealing with.

Don was slightly surprised as she fell into his arms, but quietly listened to her as his hands rubbed up and down her back. He fought the urge to hold her properly, kiss her, tell her everything was alright, that he was here for her and would take care of things. He didn't criticize her state, rather felt honored that she trusted him enough to be unguarded with him. He had to get her to bed, the rest of the crew couldn't see her like this, drunk and emotional, and she couldn't afford to drink more and suffer a bigger hangover in the morning than she would already have. He allowed her to pull away, put kept his hands on her shoulders, his voice firm. It's not your fault, Red...you did everything you were supposed to do. He tipped his chin down, trying to get a better look at her face as her hands rubbed over it. Do you understand? It's not your fault. You should go to bed, get some rest before tomorrow. I'll keep an eye on the boat until Sven and the mercs get back, ok?

Ronin had entered his room and locked the door behind him. Going for his coat he withdrew his mask, so many memories with this mask. Placing it upon his face he turned it on and did a scan of the room for bugs, and any recording devices. With none found he sat in the center of the room and reached out in the force. Almost by an unseen hand everything that law strewn about upon the floor lifted up and moved to their own respected locations. With the room clean once more he put himself on mute and made a call to Jeev for a status update. Few questions were asked
=Jeev= "Are you still able to fight if need be?"
-Ronin- "I've already healed my wound, I'll keep it wrapped and continue the act for a a period of time. I'm ready to go again if another sith or even a jedi were to pop up"
Jeev gave a nod not liking what had transpired, but thankful he had hired the Doc.
=Jeev= "Ok but don't do anything foolish, and please play nice with the Captain. I don't need anymore late night called from her bitching about you. If you have any other issues contact me on this secured line."
The line went dead, and off came the mask. Back into his coat it went about the same time Ronin unlocked the door with the force. Climbing to his feet he took back up the position on the bed he had the first time the Captain came in. Once again he knew he wouldn't sleep, but that didn't mean he couldn't close his eyes.

Vee avoided his eyes, looking behind her at the clean-up crew. Despite feeling relieved at Don's appearance, she was wary to turn in for the night. She trusted Don, but what if something happened while she was asleep? Vee shook her head as she turned back to Don, her vision spinning slightly. No, I don't think I could sleep even if I had to...and what if something happens when I'm out? She looked at him with doleful eyes. I already failed once, no more mistakes can be made. We could have lost our jobs, Don. Fuck, you could be...you could have...She bent to the side slightly, her eyes quickly becoming moist as she reached for the open tihaar bottle. She leaned her head back and took a draw, leaving her sentiment unsaid. They had to be watching us, what if they still are? What if there are more of them? She frowned, a thought suddenly coming to mind. When is Sven coming back? Why didn't he come with you?

Don sighed, dropping his arms from her shoulders.He wouldn't tell her about Sven and the red-head at the bar...who knows what they were talking about? But he didn't want to tell her he didn't even tell Sven what was going on yet, because he didn't want him or the mercs to see her like this. Don knew Vee, but they didn't, and this could be seen as weakness, which is the last thing Vee needed. The last thing they all needed. He needed to figure a way to get her to turn in. Not all the vod were there, Sven had to round them up. Look, Vee, if there are any more out there, they're certainly not going to come around with security here, and if they know you and I and the doc are here, that's even more for them to deal with...they waited until we left last time, remember? Sven will be here as soon as he gets the guys together, but in the meantime, I'll ask the doctor to stay with me until then...ok? It sounds like the man knows what he's doing.
That was something he personally wanted to discuss with the good doctor. How the man was able to take out a Sith and a few mercs all by himself seemed far fetched. He was certain there was something else going on, but he wasn't sure what. Ronin staying with him for a while would give Don time to get to know him a bit better. What you need to do is drink some water and take a shower. We'll have the doc change the bandages, then you can be off to bed. He gently reached out to take her chin and lift it up to meet his eyes. This is part of being a captain, Red...you have to delegate. And you need to be rested and ready tomorrow so you can make sure everyone's doing their jobs, suvarir ?

Vee swallowed hard as she looked into his eyes, nodding slightly her understanding.She rarely saw this side of Don, grave and authoritative. Even the one or two hauls they had done with him as captain and her as co-pilot, he did his job, but it was always done with an affable grin, charming attitude and a few good natured jokes along the way. He knew how to make people do what he wanted effortlessly and without much fuss. People automatically took to him and wanted to gain his approval. You're right...of course you're right. She took a wobbly step back, breaking their gaze as she looked down at the tihaar bottle in hand. She slowly handed it to Don. What would I do without you, Don?
As Don smiled, Vee thought she sensed a bit of sadness in it. You'll never have to find out, Red. He reached out his right arm and wrapped it around her waist as he turned her around to walk to the ship, the bottle of liquor in his left hand. Let's get you to the shower.
Vee readily complied as Don both guided and steadied her as they strode arm in arm together to the ship.

Don didn't hear the ping of his comlink until he saw Vee safely into their quarters, swiping her own comlink as he left. Though he knew Sven was now supposed to bunk with Vee, he was torn as to whether or not it was a good idea given the circumstances. At the same time, after knowing what Ronin did, he wanted to personally keep an eye on the doctor, and bunking with him would be the best way to do so. Sven could also do it, but Don considered it his personal his duty, not Sven's.
He knocked on the doc's door after he left Vee in the 'fresher. When Ronin answered, Don gave him a once over, noticing he was still fully dressed, even if the clothes were slightly wrinkled. Captain's taking a shower...she'll be over here when she's done to get her hands bandaged again. He looked the doctor straight in the eye with a steely gaze, his next words carrying a silent warning. Don't be long, I'll be back up to check on everything in 30.
Without waiting for a response, Don strode down the hall, pulling his comlink out to notice a message from Sven. He didn't even listen to it, not wanting to waste the time. Instead, he told the com to ring his cousin back, not even greeting him when he answered. Sven, sorry about the disappearing act...we have a problem, I need you to get over here with the mercs, iviin'yc.
He pulled out Vee's comlink with his other hand as he spoke, browsing the call history to see if she called Jeev yet. She had, thankfully, so that must have been what she was referring to when she said they hadn't lost their jobs. Don winced as he noticed several calls made to him.One person he hadn't noticed when he came was the mechanic, Terry. He assumed he must have either fled when he saw the fighting, or left before the attack. Either way, Don needed to know where he was. He would call the man next.

A knock on the door brought Ronin out of yet another restless slumber. Sitting up a and rubbing the sleep out of his eyes Ronin carried himself to the door. Opening it he found the copilot standing there. Before Ronin could greet him the man was telling him about a shower and the Captain needing her hand re-wrapped. Ronin would have smiled at this since he had first offered to take care of her hand to begin with, but the man left suddenly after giving a firm gave.
Ronin made sure the door stayed open as he went to the make shift examination table and gathered the needed supplies to take care of a hand. What was wrong with these people, they were so full of attitude you would think he had just kicked their mother in the shine! Nope no thanks for saving his ship and covering his ass. Ungrateful mandos, what was he to do? Yes he could probably kill them all in their sleep, but he doubted Jeev would appreciate that or pay Ronin so the thought passed as quickly as it came.
With the supplies set up he washed his face and hands. Brushing his hair, and hair Ronin finished off the short ceremony with a spritz of his favorite cologne. Now that he was clean and freshened up he could think straight and work.

Vee drank all the water from the bottle Don gave her before jumping into the small shower. He warned her not to wash with the water too hot, should she dehydrate further. She took her time, still disoriented from the alcohol. She didn't realize how exhausted she was until she started cleaning. She still hadn't caught up on her sleep from the last haul two days ago, nor from last night with Sven. She tried her best to push the worry out of her mind, reminding herself that Don would take care of everything for the rest of the evening, and trusting that he would wake her should anything serious happen.That reminded her...who was bunking with her tonight?
Vee stepped out of the shower 15 minutes later, grabbing a towel and drying before slipping into a clean undergarments, a loose-fitting tank top and pants. She didn't bother pulling on her boots, she could pad to the doctor's room barefoot. She only did a rough comb of her hair, knowing if she combed it out completely it would take half the hour.She didn't know how she felt about having the doctor on the ship anymore. He was incredibly annoying, but the fact he saved the cargo and ship warmed her a little to him. She might very well be able to tolerate his presence without wanting to blow his balls off. Her hands did sting a bit, after all, and he might have some sleep medication. Just as long as he didn't offer her the damned candy again...unless she asked for it.
Vee leaned her head through the open door of her former quarters, spotting Ronin in the corner by the small table with his back to her. Ready for me, doctor? She pushed her darkened, wet hair back behind her shoulders.

Ronin turned around placing a few strip of leather he was braiding on the bed. Clearing his throat he made a sweeping motion with his hand implying the direction to travel. The wet hair clung to her body, and with the loose tank top upon her still damp skin Ronin was definitely ready for her in more than one way
"Yes come on in, please have a seat on the table and we'll take a look at that hand"
At this moment he was glad he had freshened up, and thrown on some cologne.

Don exited the ship, casually sidestepping the cleanup crew at the entrance. The dead bodies didn't bother him in the least. He didn't think that was Vee's problem either, just that she felt guilty about the incident happening at all, especially under her watch. He had a few incidents in the past, before he worked for the company. His initial introduction the piloting had been in illegal activities, smuggling items (and people) on and off planets. This was bigger, though...he never had any run ins with Force users, and never had this many people killed at one time on any haul, especially before it began. Shit happened, he didn't blame himself or anyone else. It was out of their control, out of Vee's control.
Pausing at the end of the gangplank, he told his comlink to call Terry, hoping that the mechanic truly was safe.
Su'cuy, Don!
Don's mouth widened in a smile of relief. Su'cuy Terry, have a minute?
Sure, what's going on?
Don explained what happened, ending with how they were handling the situation and all the security measures they had in place. He got nothing but silence on the other end.
Terry? Still there?
Don, I won't be coming on this load. I'm too old for this sort of thing, I have a family to worry about.
Don was quiet for a long moment. I respect your decision, Terry. Let us know if you change your mind, ner vod.
Don cut the line with a sigh.Where were they going to find another mechanic so late in the game?Don walked off the gangplank, going to see what he could do about expediting the cleaning process.

Vee offered a curt nod, striding quickly to the table and hoisting herself onto it, ignoring the pain in her hands the leveraging caused her. Her brow knit together as she held both hands out to Ronin, her nose turning up in the air slightly as if smelling something. What's that strange smell?

Ronin took the wounded hand inspecting it, gauging the damage. Reaching for his antiseptic spray and began cleaning it
"Why do you like it? I like to wear a variety of colognes when I'm not out in the field."
Not looking up he focused on his work. Ronin could smell her freshly washed body, and feel the warmth of her skin. With his hand holding her wrist firmly to keep it from moving, yet not tightly enough to hurt her

Vee once again asked herself, where did Jeev (or was it the client) find this guy? Cologne? What the hell was that? And why would someone wear a scent, especially when they were going to bed?Vee fought against wincing at the pang the antiseptic caused on her hands. What is cologne? It's...an interesting scent. She didn't like it, but was going to try her best to be cordial.

The clean up operation seemed to be well underway by the time a black speeder truck pulled up near the entrance to the spaceport, drawing to a halt well short of where some of the emergency vehicles had parked themselves, flashing lights clearly highlighting their positions.
"Iba'ibic jii...?" {{What's this now...?}}
Berrik's words were more curious than alarmed as he slipped out of the speeder and onto the street, taking a few steps to gain balance on his feet. The bottle was still clutched in his right hand while his left sought out a wall, groping blindly for a moment before making contact. Sven had also stepped out of the truck but on the other side and was eyeing the security and medical vehicles with a growing unease settling in the pit of his stomach.
Stepping aside to let the twins and Baru out he leaned his head through the passenger window and spoke to Wura in a calm and patient tone, stressing what he was saying with the occasional point and gesture.
"Hiibir ibic norac bah vaii gar ru'chakur bic teh..." {{Take this back where you stole it from...}}
His voice was stern yet the Duros just stared back at him with huge black eyes. Sven repeated his words with stressed emphasis while the silent being just watched on. Finally Wura faced forward and drove off, Sven having no idea what he was going to do.
With a sigh he shrugged it off and moved forward at a jog, turning into the spaceport and making his way steadily towards their hangar with the mercenaries in tow, albeit just in Berrik's case. The man was puffing by the time they reached their bay, Sven arriving just in time to see a stretcher being hauled out.
"Kad haar'chak..." {{God damn it!}}
He hurried over, sending a security guard sprawling face-first when the foolish man tried to stop him. Yanking the cover back he looked down into a pair of vacant eyes staring up from a bloody face, the lifeless form stealing his heart for a moment despite his training and history.
It wasn't her, he thought with relief. A relief that quickly turned into guilt at the lack of any hint of sadness for the passing of the man before him. He may have had a family that would mourn and be lost without him. He may have parent who would lament out living a child and cry themselves to sleep at night. As he looked down at the grim tableau of death he thought he recognised him as one of the workers from earlier.
I should have been here, he thought with a sharp pang of pain. This is my fault...
He was about to move off towards the ship when he was tackled by two more of the local security forces, one grabbing an arm each and bearing him down to the ground. He began to counter then refrained as he saw the one he had tossed aside earlier pointing what looked like a Stokhli Spray Stick at him. His hit the floor hard, with his helmet clanging off the floor and bouncing slightly.
"Udesii..." {{Easy...}
He kept his voice calm and easy, trying to get his captors to relax. He then hear the clicks and whine of weapons arming as the merc drew beads on the police and waved what he could of his arms frantically.
"UDESII! MOTIR DAAB!" {{EASY! STAND DOWN!}}
