*Telarial tried to block her crazed combatant's swings, crying out whenever he landed a blow on her but after nearly breaking her arm after performing a high block against the sturdy baton rod in Montreal's hand, tried to use a different approach. The 17-year-old Mandalorian girl managed to climb up on top of the table and grunting from the pain it caused her shoulder, Telarial lifted one of the chairs, which was made oddly enough out of veshok wood and slammed it over the Officer's head. The action jarred her shoulder causing the blaster wound to begin seeping again. It did, however, knock the baton out of Montreal's hand. Telarial screamed as she jumped from her perch on the table and onto his back and wrapped her arms around his neck in a choke hold but cried out in pain when he leaped backwards, slamming and pinning her to the wall. It knocked the air from her lungs and Telarial was almost certain she heard an audible 'crack' sound. She crumpled to the ground, wheezing as her head struck the cold, tiled floor, leaving her dazed and confused. Her already abused body, now battered and broken, screamed for rest.*
*The Officer mercilessly grabbed the top of her short cropped hair and yanked it upwards, forcing her to look at him. It brought tears to her eyes. He now had a gleaming knife in his hand. He toyed with her, gently tracing the sharp edge over her soft skin, running it from her cheek down to her exposed neck.*
"Hmm...how best to kill you? It's your death. What do you think? Any suggestions?"
*Telarial glared and defiantly spat blood in his face. He roared in outrage and roughly backhanded her in retaliation. She squirmed beneath his large body and tried to kick him off. He laughed at the pitiful, futile effort.*
"Go to hell..." She hissed.
*He took the knife, the blade approximately 3 inches long and rammed it down into Telarial's right thigh, eliciting a scream...one that would unknowingly to him, safe her life. The demagolka left the knife embedded in her leg, down to the hilt, completely unaware that Telarial's rescuers were just around the corner.*
*As Telarial struggled to remain conscious, her bloodied face contorted into one of agony, she released a scream that unbeknownst to her, echoed out through the force....*

With so many lifeforms present in the station, Faelan's buy'ce sensors are of little use in pinning down where Telarial has been taken, their usefulness limited to the elimination of vacant rooms, offices, and other areas where he need not waste valuable time searching. The law enforcement officers he passes, Faelan knows, will almost certainly be of no help given the improbability any would point him towards their comrade, and so he engages none as he moves at an ever increasing pace through the unfamiliar halls of the station; his concern for Telarial, coupling with his guilt for having failed to protect her from what he now feels he should have known was a ploy by Montreal to abduct her for whatever perverse reasons the officer might harbor, stoking the fury Faelan typically keeps reigned in to greater and greater intensity the longer his search for his ad continues with no result.
Faelan's rage nearly blots out all conscious thought when Telarial's scream, felt psychically as well as heard, causes it to erupt volcanically, and he will later recall only fragments from the tortuous moments it takes for him to reach the lounge where Montreal had taken Telarial; strobic flickers of memory wherein he crashes down faceless hallways that seem endless, shoving aside any officers that try to question him or bar his path as a soundless cry of nigh-crazed wrath begins to build in his throat.
The sound of Faelan kicking the door to the lounge open alerts Montreal to the approaching threat, giving him time to snatch his fallen baton from the ground and raise it menacingly while he turns to face Falean. "You're a little later than I thought you'd be Daddy, which is just too bad for . . ." Montreal has time to sneer as he crouches into a wary defensive position before Falean, pouncing with a vornskr's grace and unrestrained ferocity, closes the distance between them and, grabbing the wrist of the hand Montreal grips his baton in before the officer realizes there will be no witty banter before blows are exchanged, wrenches Montreal's arm forward to pull him into the knee he launches forward towards the officer's gut.
Montreal, no stranger to fighting hand to hand, has time enough to twist to the side so the blow lands on his hip rather than knocking the air from him, and aims a strike with his free palm towards Faelan's throat.
Faelan lowers his head swiftly so that Montreal's palm strike hits his buy'ce, and continues the forward momentum to aim a kov'nyn, or head-butt, towards the bridge of Montreal's nose.
Staggering backwards, blood gushing from his shattered nose, Montreal grits his teeth and growls as he springs forward, launching a flurry of punches aimed for the unarmored portions of Faelan's sides.
Grunting as the first several blows to his body land painfully, Faelan ignores the pain and sends a pair of his own punches, left followed by right, for either side of the officer's jaw.
Montreal's head snaps to the side as the first punch to his jaw lands, but he ceases his attack on Faelan's body in time to bring his arms up to block the following strike, backing away to gain a bit of distance. Faelan is so intent on continuing his assault that he rushes forward without paying enough attention to Montreal's movement, which telegraph the fact he intends to launch a kick clearly. The kick, aimed low for the outside of Faelan's left leg, hits its target, causing Faelan to stagger. Though he does not lose his footing, Faelan's stagger causes him to lean over enough that Montreal seizes the opportunity to leap forward and bring an elbow down between Faelan's shoulder blades, driving him to a knee. Spitting a creative string of curses, Montreal steps back to gain room to make a kick for the side of Faelan's head.
Faelan, controlling his breathing automatically as the exertion of the battle and the blows to his body begin to take their toll, brings an arm up in time to block the kick, rising to his feet and determinedly stalking forward as the officer slips into a defensive stance after recovering his balance. Normally a more strategic fighter, Faelan has allowed his anger and concern for Telarial to get the better of him, and there is no strategy to the flurry of blows he launches into when he is within range.
Montreal blocks and counters to the best of his ability, managing to get a shot in here and there, but is eventually floored by a particularly brutal punch to the right side of his ribcage that, as Faelan's fist was sent on an upward angle, hits the liver with enough force that Montreal's vagus nerve is impacted, sending his body into shutdown mode. Fortunately for Montreal, as well as Faelan, other officers rush into the room as Montreal falls to the ground in agony, restraining Falean as he moves to continue his assault in a blind, red fury.
When he has regained enough of his senses to cease struggling against the officers holding him in check, Faelan dimly registers the voice of the station's Commander shouting about an injured civilian and Montreal having gone off the rails. Shoving and struggling against the officers, Faelan nearly goes hoarse screaming to be allowed to go to Telarial, and a racking sob can be heard when, after the station commander orders his officers to release him so that he can, he rushes to kneel beside Telarial, cradling her to his chest and rocking as he utters a loud cry of commingled rage and grief.

*Telarial was almost certain she was going to die. Until Faelan kicked the door down, practically unhinging the thing. She dragged herself into a corner, barely conscious, in order to keep from getting caught in the middle of the ferocious fray. At first she can barely recognize Faelan...she'd never seen him in combat and his fighting style as of the moment suggested he was fighting purely with emotion. The enraged screams ripping out of his throat made him sound foreign. Her eyes blurred, as her vision came and went as she watched the battle unfold. Telarial was more than satisfied to see Montreal get what was coming to him...but the rage Faelan was exhibiting scared her.
Grunting in an attempt to remove the knife from her leg, she came to find the task was far too taxing...so the knife remained. All too soon, the battle was over.
She was barely conscious to understand it as blood from her head wound trickled down the side of her face. For a moment she suffered a bout of amnesia, the Mando'ade wearing green and black beskar'gam appearing as though he were a stranger in her eyes as he pulled free from the officers who had been holding him back. It was when Faelan was cradling her in his arms, rocking her while sobbing, that she realized where she was and vaguely what had happened. With glassy eyes, no doubt from what might be a severe concussion as well as the onset of a fever, Telarial looked up into Faelan's dark visor in confusion, reaching a hand up to touch it, as a curious infant would when first touching the face of their buir. Her eyebrows were knit in concentration...trying to remember where she'd seen this Mando'ade but failing at first and can only look at Faelan's buy'ce as though she'd never seen it before in her life. She managed to pull his buy'ce off, the task rather simple since his head was lowered while he was rocking her and it was while she was looking up at his face that a dawn of recognition brightened within her soft, brown-green eyes. Telarial leaned against Faelan's chest, only partially aware that he was holding her much in the same way a father would his child. Staring intently into his ice blue eyes, she whispered coarsely.*
"Y-you... came for me."
*With a gentle, tender touch, she reached a slender hand up, and wiped away his tears. Her breathing was labored but she was determined to speak her mind.*
"Y-you-you'll never lose me. I promise..."
*A strangled sob escaped her as tears began to flow down her face. She looked at him with an agonized, guilty look, but not from her physical wounds. It was a pain deep within her soul. Telarial mumbled loud enough for Faelan to hear.*
"I'm s-so sorry...I f-failed you.."
*She felt the dark tendrils of unconsciousness slowly reaching out to claim her and felt truly terrible for the scare she gave Faelan. She felt like a dismal failure. Why had she been so selfish? All she wanted was a family...but she never did ask Faelan what happened to his. They died and now she nearly had as well right after her new buir adopted her! What she said next implicated the sorrow she was feeling.*
"Didn't mean to...to scare you."
*She closed her eyes and drifted into unconsciousness but not before uttering words she never believed she would have the honor of saying again.*
"Ni kar'tayli gar darasuum...buir."**
(**I love you... father)

Faelan does not allow himself to take any comfort or solace in Telarial's words when she speaks, relieved as he is that she is able to speak at all when his first sight of her crumpled form when he burst into the room had made him fear the worst, for in his mind he was too slow, too late, too foolish to think that an officer of the law posed no threat when his instincts told him that something was amiss. His voice every bit as hoarse as Telarial's Faelan shakes his head and croaks, "Too late, too late . . ." to try and push her gratitude away when he feels so undeserving of it.
Tensing up slightly when Telarial says that he will never lose her, going so far as to promise it, Faelan feels all of the bleak, abject despair and hollowness the deaths of his sons and wife left within him as he realizes that he had willingly opened himself up to that same bitter loss when allowing Telarial in, and taking her as his daughter; his sense of having failed her twisting in his gut and mind so that he feels selfish for allowing her in when he must certainly be cursed by fate as she nearly met the same fate as his wife and sons. Only Telarial's apology prevents Faelan from slipping into a sorrow her words make clear to him would be the true selfish act, and he shakes his head, insisting fervently as he lifts a hand to hold her chin so that their eyes meet, "You did not fail me, never think that. The failure was mine, Faelan insists, I should never . . . Falling silent as Telarial, clearly clinging to consciousness by a thin thread, speaks in Mando'a before her eyes close, Faelan ceases his protests, knowing that they are foolish, and unnecessary. Resting his forehead against Telarial's, willing himself to summon the courage to accept the daughter that fate has given him and all of the responsibility that comes with that acceptance, Faelan says quietly, echoing Telarial's words to him, Ni kar'tayli gar darasuum, ad'ika."
The following moments are a confused blur, Faelan's determination to remain with Telarial narrowing his focus to all but that; he remembers the station commander saying that paramedics have arrived, remembers carrying Telarial to the room the paramedics set up in to treat her and Montreal, and remembers refusing to leave Telarial's side as her wounds are tended to.

*The paramedics that set up the temporary triage room began immediate emergency medical care. They set to work stabilizing Telarial. They had to remove her jumpsuit, her beskar'gam having been packed away in Telarial's flight bag during her confrontation with Montreal, leaving her in her undergarments. One of the technicians approached Faelan with Telarial's flight bag and reached out to hand her belongings to him.*
"Are you the girl's father? If so, please sign this data-pad on the marked line, verifying that you have received her personal effects."
*While the technician was speaking with Faelan, the other paramedics finished dressing the blaster wound in her shoulder that had been re-opened. They wrapped her head in soft medical gauze after cleaning the abrasion and then poked and prodded her rib-cage. Fortunately Telarial was unconscious during their ministrations or she would have surely been in immeasurable pain. One of the paramedics set about hooking Telarial up with an IV line and vital monitoring equipment. After about ten minutes, the lead paramedic approached Faelan and frowned.*
"Your ad has sustained many wounds, some of which are serious enough to warrant treatment in a medical center. The knife embedded in her thigh is dangerously close to her femoral artery and will need to be operated on before a bacta submersion. She has a severe concussion and is suffering from three broken ribs and a fractured wrist. The blaster wound, which I'm assuming she sustained before her arrival here, has become infected. There may also be internal trauma but we are unable to treat her here. Despite her condition...she is very lucky. You saved her life. That makes you a hero in her eyes..."
*The paramedic gave Faelan a smile as he signed off on a clipboard before turning to assist the others in loading Telarial into the back of an ambulance."

Nodding to confirm that he is Telarial's buir, Faelan pays little attention to what he is asked to sign for, hastily doing as asked so that he can have his full attention on Telarial and all that is done to her as the paramedics tend to her injuries; though he knows that a corrupt law officer does not mean he cannot trust other civil servants, Faelan feels anxious all the same, the adrenaline and en garde state engendered by his fight with Montreal lingering and making him feel restless. Only when he can return to Norg Bral, Faelan feels even though he knows it is irrational, will he be able to relax his guard.
Faelan feels his heart sink when the lead paramedic explains the extent of Telarial's injuries, not even the assurance that he had saved her life by intervening when he had able to elevate Faelan's spirits at all. Nodding as he rubs his face wearily, Faelan tells the paramedic, "Vor entye," and then stands after picking up his buy'ce to follow the paramedics as they prepare Telarial for transport to a medcenter.
Stopping only to glance around to find Raine, Faelan motions for her to follow closer to him, her earlier insistence on remaining with him and Telarial leading him to believe that it would be no use to offer to have Lorcan or Raicheal pick her up. Trying to lighten the mood, Faelan forces a smile and tries to inject some levity into his tone as he jokes, "Well, Raine, it looks like you aren't alone in finding trouble and fights to get into without even looking, hmmm?"

*Raine watched Faelan run off into the crowd. She could feel a range of emotions running through the force. As much as she hated it, she let herself sink into the force to find Faelan and Telarial. At once she felt a wave of rage and painful. The feeling was almost overwhelming, like a punch in the gut. Letting out a hiss, she darted for the source of the pain. As she closed in, she saw a large crowd standing around Faelan and a very injured Telarial laying on a stretcher. She then noticed the injured officer.*
*She wasn't entirely sure what happened. Did the officer attack her? Did she attack him? Her attention then turned to Faelan when he spoke to her. She gave a sheepish grin at his comment.* "I guess I have a title to defend." *It was then that she noticed his injuries. "What happened?"

A'den was overwhelmed initially as the data flooded his HUD. He quickly realized his eye movements controlled what information he viewed. After carefully considering the highlighted ships, A'den settles on the Deep-X Explorer. He points to it.That one. It is fast and nimble. Good for getting in and out quickly. The vod in black noticed the direction the young boy pointed in, and followed the trajectory to ascertain which vessel was being discussed without eavesdropping, though he could have done that just as easily. A smile slid across his face beneath his visor, the boy had good taste. That particular ship, like most in the dealer, had been modified significantly. Already a reliable ship, and spacious due to it's origins as a luxury yacht, this vessel had lost it's ties to luxury in favor of functionality.
It could only carry two passengers in addition to the required crewman, but no longer required dedicated gunners for the two gimbaled twin laser cannons. Those had been crafted from old TIE parts. A single long range ion cannon, was in a fixed mount under the cockpit. The pilot must choose between using the laser cannons or the ion cannon in a fight because the power draw from each system is sufficient to prevent their simultaneous use. The engines had been fine tuned to provide even more speed to the craft in both atmospheric and sublight travel. One of the old luxury suites had been replaced with a dedicated power source, and redundant generator, for the shields, allowing them to take a surprising amount of punishment before they collapsed. The dedicated power source also meant that while power could be shifted to the shields from other systems, it would rarely be necessary.
Seeing the focus of his customer's interest, Buurenaar, the proprietor of this modest establishment, changed his course. He walked towards the ship in question, inviting his guests to do the same. As he arrived at the Deep-X his proximity activated a holo-display which highlighted the modifications, while down playing the loss of passenger space. The ship's current registration number, name, and price were listed horizontally, from right to left, in the top of the display. This ship was currently called Dhakar, though the name could be easily changed if the customers so desired. Turning to the larger of the two customers, he saw the strange vod, what species was he anyway, shake his head indicating that Buurenaar should deal with the boy. Buurenaar's eyebrows rose a fraction behind his visor, but he turned to A'den and addressed him for the remainder of the sale.
"I see the Dhakar has caught your fancy; are you set on buying this one? She's 180,000.00 "7 as is, if you'd like to change her registration or have her painted it will cost more. The Dhakar is an excellent vessel; she's fast, sturdy, and reliable. She has enough punch to fend off most trouble and the speed to outrun the rest. She can pace even the newer E-wings easily and out run X-wings and TIE fighters. Her excellent, borderline illegal, sensor system will let you see any of those from half way across most systems with ease. The Dhakar is fast, easy to fly, and ready to go wherever you'll fly her kid. So, will you buy her, or leave her here for someone else to enjoy?"

*Her attention then turned to Faelan when he spoke to her. She gave a sheepish grin at his comment.* "I guess I have a title to defend." *It was then that she noticed his injuries. "What happened?" Remembering that Raine often seems uncomfortable with physical contact, Faelan stops himself from giving her shoulder a reassuring squeeze or some other sign of comfort as he forces a smile and quips, "Yes, you wouldn't want me to wrest that title from you, would you? The muscles of his jaw tightening after Raine asks what happened to Telarial, all traces of levity bleed from Faelan's tone and expression as he answers, I'm not sure what the reason was, Faelan admits, but the officer that insisted Telarial be questioned abducted her and . . . Faelan's fists clench at his sides, anger causing his voice to become a growl briefly as he continues, attacked her. Who knows what he would have done if . . . Shaking his head, unable to complete the thought or dwell too long on what may have happened had he not found Telarial in time to intercede, Faelan nods towards the ambulance Telarial is being loaded onto, saying, Come on, we'll ride to the medcenter with her."
Holding the back door of the ambulance for Raine to climb aboard, Faelan steps up after she is inside. As the ambulance sets out, Faelan clenches his teeth to keep himself from disturbing the paramedics with his concerned questions as they work on Telarial, patting the bench beside him after sitting down to have Raine sit as well. Watching the paramedics closely to try and gauge from their expressions or what they say to one another while working, Faelan asks Raine in a worried tone that does not hide the need for reassurance he feels anywhere near as he would like, "It doesn't look so bad, does it? She'll be alright, won't she? She's strong, she'll be alright," he finishes in a more firm tone, clearly seeking to reassure himself as much as Raine.

*Raine listened to what Faelan said, her eyes taking in every detail of his facial expressions. She could understand why he was angry. He claimed Telarial as his daughter, then someone attacked her, almost killed her. That in Raines mind was reason enough to get angry, she would have done the same. What Raine wondered was why, why had he attacked Telarial in the first place? Especially in a police department.*
*She climbed into the back of the ambulance and sat next to Faelan. Telarial looked pretty beat up, the officer must have done a number on her, even after what happened at the hangar. She tilted her gaze up at Faelan when he started to speak aloud. Even without the force, she could tell he was distressed. Sliding as close as possible, she leaned up against him and wrapped her arms around him in a hug. Her head rested on his shoulder as she kept a watchful eye on Telarial.* "She'll be okay. I've seen worse and those people have pulled through. So will she."

A'den listened to the salesman's pitch. He did not know what NCO could or would spend, as, for as far as A'den was concerned, NCO was in charge of teh financing. A'den had figured out he could switch to a private comm, where only NCO could hear him...
What do you think, buir?

*Telarial's heart monitor issued an alert as her heart rate began to drop. Her already labored breathing had become incredibly shallow, causing one of the paramedics to curse.*
"Her lung has nearly collapsed. Put her on an oxygen filter, NOW!" *The medic snapped*
*One of the other paramedics ripped open an overhead bulkhead and placed the oxygen mask over Telarial's face trading that for the nasal cannula. Soon her vitals returned to normal as their emergency treatment was successfully initiated. The paramedics sighed with relief and their posture became far more relaxed as they continued to closely monitor her on their way to the medcenter.*

Faelan can scarcely believe it when Raine leans up against him, even hugging him, and he gives her a grateful smile that proves to be short-lived as not long after it has surfaced one of the paramedics shouts that one of Telarial's lungs has collapsed.
Used to being in charge, to making decisions and taking action, staying on the bench rather than going to Telarial is one of the hardest things Faelan has ever done; though he is no medic and knows only rudimentary triage skills, he feels utterly helpless in the current situation. Trying to take heart in what Raine had said, Faelan says somewhat mechanically and yet with the faintest note of cautious optimism in his voice, "You're right. She'll pull through. Of course she will."
Having relaxed only slightly after the crisis appears to have passes, Faelan wrings his hands together in a worried silence for the remainder of the medcenter. Offering a hand to help Raine from the back of the ambulance after they arrive, Faelan tries to think of something reassuring to say, his mouth even opening, but it closes almost immediately as he finds that nothing has come to mind that feels appropriate. Offering Raine a strained smile in lieu of words, Faelan motions for her to follow as he quickens his pace to walk beside the hoverstretcher Telarial is being transported on.
"I'm here ad'ika," Faelan tells Telarial as he walks beside her stretcher, reaching down to hold her hand for as long as he can. Staring blankly at the doors that close behind the paramedics and stretcher after being told they can accompany her no further, Faelan struggles to resist the urge to disobey and burst through the doors to follow them anyway. When he has quelled the impulse, Faelan gives Raine's shoulder a reassuring squeeze with a worried twitch of his lips meant to approximate a smile, and then looks around for the waiting room with a perplexed expression, as though unsure of what he is looking for.
Dropping heavily into a chair to begin what is likely to feel like an eternity of waiting, Faelan rests his face in his hands for a moment before taking a deep breath and asking Raine, "Are you hungry? Unable to sit still, Faelan stands, speaking more rapidly than usual, There must be a cafeteria or vending machines somewhere. You should eat something, drink something. We'll find something, come on. Just not too far. Something nearby. In case someone comes with news."

*Telarial, though still unconscious and appearing to the world to be unresponsive, for the briefest moment while Faelan is holding her hand...telling her that he was with her, her hand subtly tightened, as though there was a part of her that knew he was there. A medical professional might have dismissed it as an involuntary muscle spasm. Regardless, it was sure to give Faelan hope.*
*Telarial is immediately rushed into surgery, mainly to repair her lung and to remove the knife in her leg. It only takes about four hours, after which, she is then cleared for a bacta submersion. The surgeon a few hours later emerges, looking for Telarial's buir. All he has to go on is the description the paramedics gave him. When he spots Faelan, he approaches with a grim face.*
"Hello, I'm Dr. Hildron. The surgery went well. Your ad will now be treated via bacta submersion until the worst of her external wounds heal. It may take a few hours at most. Once she has finished her secondary stage of treatment, your ad will then be moved to one of our recovery rooms. You may see her now if you wish, although I'm afraid due to the anesthesia, she will remain unresponsive until it wears off. Do you have any questions for me?"

Whenever the waiting gets to him, feels as though it is going on so long that something must have gone terribly wrong, Faelan thinks back to the moment that he felt Telarial'ser hand tighten on his; it must, he tells himself again and again, have been a sign of some kind that all would be well. When at last Dr. Hildon finds him and Raine to update them, Faelan watches the man's face as intently as he heeds each and every word that is said, looking for some subtle hint in tone or expression that will reveal exactly what he believes Telarial's chances to make a full recovery are, and how grievous or dire her condition truly is.
Nodding a few times after the doctor has finished speaking, continuing to look at him as though expecting something more to be said, Faelan clears his throat and starts to shake his head, "No, than . . . multiple questions suddenly springing to mind, Faelan lifts a hand as though to ask the doctor to stay, stammering as he rushes to keep up with his thoughts, I mean, yes, yes I do. Questions. And, and thank you. Pausing to try and collect his thoughts, lifting a hand to massage his right temple, Faelan asks almost as though afraid of the answer, Will there be any perman. . . will she make a full recovery? I know, know you can't say for sure, but . . . what . . . what are the chances she will recover fully? Will there be . . . do you think there will be any complications? Shaking his head, remembering that he has been given the chance to see Telarial, Faelan adds quickly, And, yes, I wo . . . we, he reaches over to clasp Raine's shoulder as much to give support as for support himself, we would like to see her now as well, yes."

*Dr. Hildron runs a hand over his haggard face, looking as though sleep deprived. He listened to Faelan, surely quite accustomed to worried family members and after the man had finished speaking he answers him with a sigh.*
"Physically she will make a full recovery. The head trauma she sustained was moderately severe. There is no swelling of the brain, as all our scans indicated. I'm sorry to say that there is no telling what state of mind she may be in when she awakens. She will undoubtedly be confused and there is the possibility she may suffer from a form of temporary amnesia...what kind or how severe, I'm afraid I can't say."
*The Dr. gestures for Faelan and Raine to follow him as he leads the way.*
"You may follow me. I will take you to her."
*The Dr. stands aside to allow Faelan and Raine entrance into the room, filled with high tech medical equipment. There on the far side of the room, is Telarial, floating in a bacta tank. She is wearing what appears to be a wet-suit, common for this type of procedure, and remains oblivious as she continues to slumber. A breathing apparatus is clamped firmly in her mouth. Her body occasionally twitches as the healing substance in the bacta speeds up the healing process exponentially.*

Faelan does all he can to appear calm and unemotional as he listens to the doctor, though some vestige of his worry is almost certainly evident in his eyes as, dispassionately as he tries to listen, certain words echo within his head louder than others; trauma, severe, swelling, and suffer each nearly causing him to flinch as they are voiced aloud as though his deepest fears have been heard by some cruel god seeking the most painful way to torture him for having dared to open himself up to loss such as that he barely survived when his sons were killed in battle or his beloved wife took her own out of the despair their deaths visited upon her.
Unable to speak, Falean can only nod when the doctor bids him and Raine to follow to where they will be able to see Telarial. His steps unsteady at first, as though the sight of Telarial has struck him like a physical blow, Faelan visibly collects himself as he traverses the room, reminding himself that he will be of no use to Telarial or anyone if he permits worries and fear to unman him. By the time he reaches the tank, lifting a hand to rest against the glass dividing him from his daughter, Faelan's expression and deportment have regained much of the steel most often seen in them, and his voice is firm and sure as he tells Telarial quietly even though he knows she cannot hear him, "You will make it through this ad'ika. I know you can, and will."

*Raine followed Faelan around the medcenter after they took Telarial in for surgery. She wasn't exactly sure what to do in such a situation. On one hand she was worried for Telarial, a girl she had never met, but who seemed important to Faelan. On the other hand though, she wasn't exactly sure how to comfort him. It wasn't until they reached the room where Telarial was being healed in a bacteria tank that she felt kinda helpless. She watched and listened to Faelan as g e spoke to Telarial. Raine suddenly felt very empathetic, she knew the same feeling from when she lost her parents. Without thinking, she darted forward and wrapped her arms around Faelan's waste. She could feel tears welling at the edges of her eyes. She didn't even know Telarial, but if she was important to Faelan, then she was important to Raine.*

A'den listened to the salesman's pitch. He did not know what NCO could or would spend, as, for as far as A'den was concerned, NCO was in charge of teh financing. A'den had figured out he could switch to a private comm, where only NCO could hear him...What do you think, buir? NCO responded on the same channel, while the salesman waited patiently. Buurenar suspected they were having a private conversation, as vode often did, and had the grace to wait for it's conclusion in silent stillness. NCO didn't want A'den to feel crushed by the prospect of buying a new ship, but he also didn't want the boy to get used to having a crutch of a buir either. So he decided to play his hand carefully and hope the boy's resourcefulness kicked in. No one made a living on the streets of any world without picking up some resourcefulness, right? This is your choice to make ad. If funds are your concern, you need not worry, you can afford to buy the entire lot and every ship on it today. For everything else, you will need experience to make the best choice. There are no bad decisions here, no wrong choices. Make your choice and remember that it is yours.

Looking down when Raine embraces him, Faelan smiles and puts an arm around her shoulders to give her a reassuring squeeze as he tells her in Mando'a, "There's no need for tears Raine. I believe the worst is over now," he adds in a hopeful tone.
Though he does not want to leave Telarial's side, Falean knows that he and Raine will be no good to her if they do not look after themselves, and so takes Raine to the medcenter's cafeteria so that they can eat. After they eat, Faelan asks the nursing staff if he and Raine can stay in the room with Telarial so that they are there when she regains consciousness, to which the nursing staff agrees. After bedding has been provided for them, and Faelan has all but ordered Raine to sleep, he does his best to follow his own advice about making sure they are well rested, laying down in an attempt to sleep that ultimately proves futile. Sitting at the edge of the cot he has been provided, Faelan rubs the stubble coming in on his usually clean shaven cheeks and fitfully watches Telarial floating in the bacta tank silently or the monitors on the side of the tank for some sign that she is recovering.
