The Personal Databanks are intended as an extension of the User Profiles that every member has access to. In some cases the profile boxes do not have enough space that people would want, or they do not allow for certain codes to be used. In other cases, you may not want a wall of text and pictures that make it seem intimidating as your User Profile. This is the solution.
Here, members can create a thread for their character and use it to add onto their already existing profile, utilizing the increased functionality and character count that is available using the posting format as opposed to the somewhat limited User Profiles.
Examples of uses for the Personal Databanks are as follows, but not limited to:
Setting up a Personal Databank thread is very similar to creating an Active Storylines thread. Simply click on the Create Thread button and you will be taken to a new page to title and write out the first post of your new Personal Databank thread.
At the beginning of the first post of your thread, please add the following line to ensure there is no confusion as to who is allowed to write within the thread. For Factions, you may list the entire Faction with a link to the group's member list.
After creating a thread for your Character or Faction, you need to link the Databank thread in your User Profile in the proper profile box. This will ensure that the information in the Personal Databanks is easily accessible to anyone who wishes to learn about your Character and/or Faction. Use the code below to ensure the link to the JotW thread will appear as whatever you wish it to be, rather than a lengthy string of letters and numbers. For Faction Leaders, please also link the Faction's Personal Databank thread in the faction's Writing Group thread as well, if it has one.
To limit thread creation spamming, we ask that members create only one Databank thread per character or faction, adding onto it by either editing the original post, or by posting in the thread as is needed. If a Personal Databank thread does not belong to you, do not post in it without permission of the creator. At the request of any Personal Databank thread creator, spam posts may be removed by a Whill, and punitive action may be taken by the Whill Council.
All of the Rules and Regulations of JvS apply to the Personal Databanks.
