Yvaine smiles when Fiora, clearly committed to the idea of getting their Mum to participate in the dinner plans, says that they will essentially not give their Mum any choice in the matter, and grins happily as she says, "It may just come down to that, but I guess the advantage of that is that she will have no chance of escape, adding a theatrically evil laugh as she rubs her hands together and says, With our combined powers, I bet we can at least get her to smile just like we got Ocky to! Pursing her lips in thought, wondering if a smile might be setting the bar a bit high with what their Mum must be going through, Yvaine amends the objective slightly, Or, you know, one of those little half smiles she does where one corner of her lips curls up just a little bit when she is trying not to smile? I bet we can get one of those at least. Maybe," her enthusiasm only slightly dampened by the alteration of her expectations; their Mum, while presenting a stoic face to the universe at large and having a demeanor that makes her seem a bit cool and remote to those that don't know her well, is actually a warm, sensitive and caring person; that their Dad was the one most capable of bringing that side out of their Mum, Yvaine hopes, does not mean that with his passing their Mum shuts that side of her off.
Drumming a beat on the table with the palms of her hands, dismissing her worries for their Mum as best she can, Yvaine hops from her stool and starts collecting dishes and utensils not currently being used, making her way with them to a sink as she says, "You know, with Remmy doing his sit, boy, stay thing, if we do end up bringing things to Mum, he'll be hard pressed to think of an excuse not to join in, right? So, she looks over her shoulder as she rinses off the dishes, if you work your magic twin powers and get Ocky there, we'll all be together. That would be good, for everyone, don't you think?"

She sat and finished the last of her food as Yvaine set the objective for their time spent with Faina tonight. A half smile was probably the most manageable outcome they could hope for all things considered. The way Yvaine described it certainly brought a smile to Fiora's face
A half smile is good. Something so we know she knows there is still things left to smile about...
She finished the last of her bacon and joined Yvaine in the clean up of her own dishes, listening as her younger sister suggested it would be easier to get Remus to join them and maybe Octavian too. She lets out a chuckle then
I think I used up all my magic twin powers on getting Ocky to smile earlier. Buttttt... I suppose I can try a little more today for you Evvy... Let's scrap trying to get Faina out, and just take dinner to her. We'll have a movie night and lure the others in with food.

"Exactly and precisely! Yvaine cheerily agrees when Fiora agrees that getting their Mum to do one of her half smiles, and hopefully remember in the process of being cajoled into doing so that life hasn't ended even though it may feel that way to her, bumping Fiora's hip with her own as she says, I mean, she has us, right?"
Drying the last of the dishes and moving on to packing up the remaining food so that Fiora can bring it to Jin, Yvaine gives her sister a skeptical look when she suggests that she might have exhausted her twin powers when getting Ocky to smile earlier, telling her sister, "I'm pretty sure twin powers are infinitely limitless, Fifi, and I therefore have the most absolute of faith in your ability to get Ocky to go along with our new and improved plan! Handing Fiora the covered container, Yvaine says, Now go and give that to your girl, then hugs her tight before walking backwards towards the door from the kitchen as she says, I'll handle Remmy, you just make sure Ocky is there so we can all work on Mum together, m'kay? M'kay," she says before turning about and, her Stormtrooper shadow in tow behind her, skips out into the hall and begins making her way to the family's suites.

She sure does! Fiora replied, returning the bump. She helped dry the dishes before watching as Yvaine packed the leftovers while stating twin powers are infinite. At least one of them had faith in her persuasive skills with OctavianI will certainly try, but no guarantees of success! She took the containers in one hand and returned the hug from her younger sister, fighting against the bit of blush showing upThank you Evvy. I'll see you tonight! She watched Yvaine skip away, the Stromtrooper close in toe to keep their ward protected. Fiora walked over and picked up her helmet and slid it on before making her way out of the Kitchens. A few heads from the cooking staff turned and watched her leave through the hallways, undoubtedly expecting some mess that they would need to clean up after. But Fiora's thoughts were concerned elsewhere as she reached out to Octavian Delvardus through the ForceYour presence has been requested tonight for dinner with Faina by Evvy, if you can make it. You'll have plenty of time to brood over your throne later...She kept on her way back to her room, the Tribune Guards still standing ready and at attention outside the doors. They gave a brief salute and opened the door to allow her in, her gaze searing the room for Jin SongI'm baaaaack!She made her way to a dresser which conveniently had a tray atop it where Fiora deposited the containers and opened them up. The food was still hot and ready for eating. She slid her helmet off then and set it down atop the dresser |

Jin had flipped the idea of going and finding Fiora over in her head a few times, but decided to let her have time with her family without her being there to complicate things. Instead Jin had done some light morning exercises, easy sets that could be done without need of gym equipment. After words she showered and then went back to work on her drawing. This time she was sitting on the bed, hunched over with the sketch book in her lap and next to her a datapad with 12 images pulled up, photos of the royal family. Jin nearly jumped out of her skin when the doors suddenly opened. It was all she could do not to errently mark the page she had worked so painstakingly on. Seeing who it was she quickly slammed the sketch book shut and slid it and the datapad under one of the pillows. Oh! So you are. How is everyone doing? She swung her legs over so she was now sitting on the edge of the bed, a spot clearly left for Fiora to join her if she wished. How are you holding up?

It was hard not to notice Jin's sudden panic and change in posture, noting the disappearance of the two items. But it wasn't anything Fiora was too suspicious about at the moment. Jin tended to get focused when she drew and was undoubtedly putting away the distraction. She lifted the tray with the food on it and carried it over to the bed, setting it down on Jin's lap before taking a seat herself. Her hands pressing back into the mattress as she leaned over slightly and rested her head upon her friend's shoulder
Octavian is already working on his best brooding face, Yvaine is avoiding the pain... And me... I'm managing, thanks to you...
She tilted her head a little and pressed a quick kiss to Jin's cheek
Also I hope you like bacon, eggs and toast. Me and Evvy made a stop by the Kitchen and neither of us is exactly a gourmet chef... But I promise you won't die or get poisoned by it.

Jin turned a deep crimson when Fiora planted a kiss on her cheek. It had momently distracted her from how hungry she was. Usually when she got to work on an art piece she would forget everything else, including needs to eat and sleep. But now, a plate of food was dropped in front of her. She smiled and returned the peck on the cheek before digging into the meal before her. Thank you, Fi. The girl paused after a few big bites, it was good, but now that she was eating she realized her apatite was gone. Her mind was suddenly filled with the memories of her own parents passing, due to the encroachment of rival gangs in the undercity. She thought of all the pain she had felt in those days after and could imagine all four of the the Delvardus children were feeling similarly. But from Fiora's report each was processing it in a different way. Jin set the food aside and wrapped her arms around Fiora in a tight hug. Not a particularly romantic hug, but one from a dear friend who knew exactly what the other must be going through. Jin held the hug for almost a solid minute, before speaking breaking away and speaking. I- uh- I have something to show you. Jin reached under the pillow and brought out her sketchbook. It was obvious she was very nervous about what was on those pages and even now was hesitating. The book was clenched against her chest, the classical art style was outside of her usual forte. I've been working on this, ever since you told me your father was sick... I had hoped to get it finished so he could have seen it too... As a sort of thank you for putting me up here all those years... But now... She trailed off, not sure if she should show her hard work.

It was cute seeing Jin go red from the kiss, with her own cheeks taking a shade of red from the returned kiss. She settled her head on Jin's shoulder again, but making sure not to get too much in the way of her girlfriend eating. But she was soon jostled around as Jin turned and hugged her, taking Fiora by surprise a little before she returned the hug. It was a nice recharge of comfort energy which would help her get through the day. She would have liked the hug to last longer, but Jin was soon pulling away and revealing she had something to show off. Fiora's thoughts turned to the sketch pad as Jin reached for and retrieved it from the pillow, making her wonder just what exactly had been sketched.
Her initial concern had been something very intimate. But Jin's explanation that she had hoped to share it with Nicademus quickly dispelled such concerns. She shifted herself up onto the bed proper and moved behind Jin, wrapping her arms around her best friend's waist and hugging her from behind. There was just something so sweet and cute about how nervous Jin was. Fiora never pushed her friend to reveal any of her art if she didn't want to, and this morning would be no exception. She rested her chin upon Jin's shoulder and nuzzled at her neck
I'm sorry Jin... If I'd known... I could have...
She felt lost for words, thinking about how she could have said something so much sooner. Not that it would have saved him. But perhaps Jin might have gotten her own closure, even if she had her own disagreements with his role as Emperor
Well, what's happened has happened. There isn't anything we can change about it now. I'm always ready to look at your art, when ever you're ready to share it with me.
She gentle squeezed her arms around Jin, content with this feeling

Jin felt encouraged by the words from Fiora and also the hug. Slowly Jin eased the grip she clutched the sketchbook with and let it sit on her lap. I uh- Please don't judge me, it's not my usual style and... and... The girl gulped before opening the book. It fell right to the page, Jin had been keeping open there for the past few days. The images were nowhere near as bad as Jin thought them to be. But the page was also marked with where an eraser had been taken to it time and time again. The subject of the drawing was a Nicademus in his prime, seated upon his throne. To his right was Illaria Ren with Octavian and Fiora, and further right was Baltasar and Azria. On the left stood Faina with Remus and Yvaine, and another step left was Brock and Roland. All of them were smiling, or as much as the normally brooding family did. It was still a work in progress, hands still needed details, cloths were half done, and so on. I- um- I thought it would be nice, there aren't any pictures of the whole family, you know? Sorry, it's a bad idea...

Fiora waited and let Jin do things in her own time, fussing about it in her usual perfectionist way. Even her own works which she did in her own style would always be in need of improvement, so it surprised Fiora even less that Jin was this way about something unusual for her. But as the book fell open, the early sketch was impressive. Her gaze travelling across the page and taking in the details that were there and passing over those that needed to be finished. It was rather fitting that Nicademus sat in the centre, acting as the dividing line between the two sides of the family. Separating the Light from the Dark. There would have been no chance in the deepest depths of Chaos that Illaria and Faina would have existed in the same room like was pictured without some massive ordeal. But her Father might have managed it, as he did with the two Orders within the Empire.
As her attention moved out to the extended family on either side of the group, her anger flashed briefly as she caught sight of the figures of Baltasar and Brock. The revelations from the night before still fresh in her mind about the actions of each in the past week. Neither one deserved their place in that portrait right now. But just as soon as it flared up, so too was it smothered as Jin explained why she had drawn it, noting that no picture existed of the whole family and then immediately apologising for it. She pressed herself tightly against Jin's back and buried her face into her girlfriend's raven locks. Perhaps this was the price one paid when they were in love: a lack of ability to remain angry for long
No!
She pulled her face from Jin's hair and user her hand to turn Jin's face toward her, before kissing her properly. Letting it linger for a moment before pulling away
Don't apologise, it's a lovely idea Jin. We never came together much, and well... several people would absolutely have never gotten along for obvious reasons... But we were all still family, even if separated by time...
She turned her focus back to the photo, smiling as she appreciated it

Jin continued to explore shades of crimson she could turn as she was both kissed and complimented on her work. You're biased... Maybe I should ask your brother. I was thinking of making it a coronation gift... Jin sat for a moment, allowing Fiora to get a good look before snapping the sketch book shut. If she looked at it any longer, the artist would just see more and more mistakes. She stood up and started to pace around the room. The girl had gotten into her own head and couldn't move past it. 'Silly', 'derivative', 'a mess' were some of the adjectives Jin muttered under her breath as she paced. Trying to think of how to improve the portrait.

Fiora scoffed playfully at the comment as Jin snapped the book shut and started pacing around the room. A small amount of jealousy rising at the mention of presenting it as a coronation gift. But it was little more than a passing moment, born purely of a desire to keep Jin's artwork for herself. However, it was not hers to hoard like some dragon with mountains of gold. She slipped off the bed herself and intercepted Jin, her hand's reaching out to catch her girlfriend's shoulders
That's very thoughtful of you... It might actually remind him to smile once in a while. You just need to finish it, and pacing the room isn't going to get you any closer to that... Now stop fussing, take a seat, and relax. I promise, everything will be fine...
She had a smile that radiated confidence, based on the certainty she knew that Jin could do this

This was something Jin had always been thankful to Fiora about. While Jin worked to keep Fiora grounded, the princess returned the favor. Of course, every artist saw the flaws in their work magnified to the extreme. She stopped wearing a hole into the carpeting and took her girlfriend's hands. Of course. You're right. I just- She shook her head, stopping herself from spiraling into self doubt again. And with the look of pure belief and support in her partner's eyes Jin collected her sketchbook and pencil grabbed the chair from the desk. But instead of flipping to the page with her main project she turned to a fresh page. Sit on the bed, I need to work on a different project. Clear my head and rebuild my confidence.

She was about to give Jin a bap on the nose as her girlfriend got close to spiralling again, before catching herself and letting go of Fiora's hands. She felt herself blushing from a mixture of the hand holding and having managed to pull Jin from her spiral. But that blush grew brighter as their hands disconnected and Jin was ordering her onto the bed to be the subject of a new sketch
Oh... uhhh... ok...
She became a little self-conscious as she shuffled back and shifted herself up onto the bed. She moved through a couple different positions, fussing with her cloak as it seemed to get in the way before turning to look at Jin
Did you mean clothed or... I mean, did you have a pose in mind?
There was no doubt in her mind that she'd get past this awkward phase in things, but until then it was undoubtedly going to create some interesting scenarios. She flicked her hair back as she sat with her legs half curled back beneath her and leaning her torso at a 30-45 degree angle to the bed

Jin blushed at the prospect of drawing Fiora without her clothes on. I- uh- whatever you are most comfortable with or would like. The Coursant native made sure her pencil was sharp got to work after Fiora had struck her pose. It was slower than her usual 'quick' sketches since she was trying to practice the more realistic style that was being used for her Delvardus portrait. Jin did find it easier to draw with the live person rather than relying on images. But for now the pair were seated across from each other with Jin occasionally glancing up to refresh the image in her mindseye before returning her focus to the page.

Perhaps she would be comfortable and confident enough with Jin to get drawn nude like those Twi'lek models did in paintings. But for now she remained clothed in the position she had semi settled on as Jin started drawing. Fiora held her pose, thankful that the one she had chosen was comfortable and easy to remain in as she watched her girlfriend go into that state of concentration that she got into when drawing. It was some time in, perhaps halfway done, when an idea popped into Fiora's head that might help with the family portrait
You know... I could help with some modelling for your other drawing. Maybe not for the males, but for the females...
She shook her head, feeling the blush creep in again, embarrassed a little by the idea she put out there
Never mind... I... hmmm...
She looked down then, not wanting to meet Jin's gaze out of shyness

Jin looked up at the suggestion, pausing her work and thinking. She never wanted to ask Fiora to shift her form, it seem impolite at best and down right insensitive at worst. Jin smiled at Fi. I wouldn't want you to do anything you aren't comfortable with. I can manage just fine with the images from the archives. Now, hold still. I'm trying to get your hair juuuussst riiiight. The artist went back to work. It wouldn't be long till a fairly strong likeness of Fiora was on the page and Jin was saying. There, all done. Flipping the book around to show the princess. What do you think?

What ever response she had expected from Jin, this one had not been it. It caught her a little off guard
That's not... I wouldn't be uncomfortable with it, everyone else just seems to always be weird about it...
She stopped talking then as Jin told her to hold still, providing the best pose and stillness for Jin to finish her drawing. When at last the work was done, she shuffled closer to the edge of the bed to get a better view of the sketch. She smiled
Scale it up and we could use it as an alibi...
A little chuckled escaped, as she thought about the number of times such a thing would have come in handy. She kept smiling as she met Jin's gaze
Your work clearly works best with a live study to work on, and as long as you are comfortable with it, I'd be happy to lend my shape changing skills to helping with your art skills.

Jin understood how others may find having their face worn by someone else unsettling. In fact, Jin had had a similar reaction when Fiora's shape changing abilities first started to manifest. But it was something she had quickly moved past. The artist blushed as Fiora seemed to like her work. Yes, with realism like this, having the person here does help a good deal. I'm used to my caricatures. But I'm glad you like it. Jin got up from the chair she had been occupying and moved to the bed, next to Firoa. I'd be happy to have you as a model. You did very well at it. If this whole "princess" thing doesn't work out, you've got that to fall back on I guess.

Fiora's art journey was still somewhat ongoing from those first lessons a couple years ago with Jin. She had not kept it up as much as she might have otherwise liked, but between that and her exposure to Jin's art over the years she had a decent understanding of various art styles. Thus she was able to decently follow Jin's logic and reasoning without feeling too much out of her depth. As soon as her girlfriend moved close enough, Fiora reached out and gripped one of Jin's wrists and pulled her down onto the bed as she laid backwards
Is that so? Princess turned Model-For-Hire? Could be fun, just lounging about all day with people gawking at me as they drew all my features...
She made a thoughtful expression, as if considering it more seriously
Imagine the headlines: Princess runs off with her bodyguard/artist girlfriend and turns to a life of modelling, forsaking the Royal Family...
She giggled at the field day the news would have
I suppose there would be a lot less politics involved.
