To the visitor, the palace is like a maze of corridors. This was given the various architects that have redone this location many times over between the various Heads of States that have come and gone as well as their reigning governments. With Imperial control over Coruscant established, one would find Stormtroopers of the Imperial Guard patrolling up and down the corridors. Teams of Imperial Knights do the same as well. Entry to certain rooms would require the right clearances.

Her grip remained firm but gentle upon Jin Song's hand, proudly leading the way through a number of corridors and down a couple turbolifts. It was the quickest and most direct route from the office to the medical facilities on the 4th floor. A doctor was already on standby ready to inspect Jin's wounds and provide some treatment. Fiora finally let go of her friend's hand then. She felt a little cold and empty at breaking the contact, but she remained close by as she took a seat next to the examination bed where Jin was guided to sitSee, I told you everything would be alright... She had a small smile then, trying to reassure herself that she had been confident the entire time. But truth be told, she'd had her moments of doubt that everything would work out as it did

As she was lead away by Firora, Jin felt an immense weight be lifted from her. She would have sworn she'd get a firing squad for sure. But the princess did prove right in the end, everything turned out alright and for now anyway it seemed like things would only get better as the Emperor had invited her to live in the palace. The events of this very long day swam through her head as the doctor examined her and reset her broken nose. Only some light swearing from that pain, but Jin expressed her reluctant thanks towards the Imperial doctor and sat up and dangled her legs off the observation table. Well, once again, you have proven your wisdom, your majesty. Jin chuckled and gave an overdramatic bow to Fiora. Then she hopped off the table and reached out to give her friend a hug. It had been a long day for both of them and Jin felt like they could both use the hug.

You don't have to be so weird about it, Fiora is just fine...
She grumbled and pouted when Jin called her by her official title. While it did not usually cause a reaction when others addressed her as such, it felt weird having Jin do the same. Especially more so since her friend was clearly emphasising it. But she stopped pouting a few moments later as she stepped forward and pressed against Jin, her arms wrapping around her friends waist, while she pressed her face against Jin's chest. She hugged Jin tightly, glad they had managed to get through the events of last night and this morning. Fiora pulled her face back and looked up at Jin
I wouldn't ask you to move in here if you don't want to, but I will hold you to your promise that you would visit regularly, ok?

Jin chuckled a little at Fiora's reaction to her bow and whispered to her as the hugged, Don't worry, I'm just messing with you, Fiora. I'm not about to get all formal just because my new friend is a Princess and her dad owns half the galaxy. But Jin paused as Fiora made her next statement. Since they had seen Nicademus that question had been swimming in Jin's mind. Would she give up her life in the slums for one up among the clouds? She could see positives to both, but also down sides. This was a question she needed her adopted father to help with. I will absolutely come visit, but as for moving up here, that I'll need to run past Uncle Ryath.

She gave Jin a bit of a tight squeeze and smiled when her friend admitted to just be joking about it. Despite the truth of the statements Jin made, it still felt weird hearing them listed in such a way. But her mind was taken off such thoughts as Jin mentioned having to talk to Uncle Ryath about any potential move. Fiora gave a nod
Right! That was the next thing we needed to do!
She pulled away from the hug with Jin then. Her hand still tightly gripping one of Jin's as she turned toward the doctor
Can we please use your phone, so Jin can make a call?
Oh... uhhh... Of course your majesty...
The Doctor seemed a little taken aback by Fiora asking permission to use a phone. Not because she did not usually ask permission, but because most royals he had dealt with simply demanded and stated they were using something. He quickly settled himself, before leading Fiora and Jin into the small office with a phone. He gave a bow before taking his leave. Fiora smiled up at Jin
I'll... I'll just be outside so you can talk with Uncle Ryath, ok?

Yeah, thanks, this should only take a little bit. Jin said as she disappeared into the office and accessed the communications terminal. Before starting the call she took a deep breath and made sure she was calm and collected. Then she made the call. The call was not nearly as brief as Jin clamed it would be. Ryath had been worried and had been asking the neighbors if they had seen Jin or her new friend, but once Jin was able to tell her story the Kel-Dor fell silent for a time. Well, damn. Was all he had been able to come up with for a while, until Jin said they could talk more when she got home. But the adopted uncle quickly shut that down, insisting that Jin could not pass by an opportunity like this. Empire or no, this was her avenue to things beyond what their Underworld dwelling salaries could dream of, even with scholarships, Jin would have no chance of being able to attended schools on the surface, let alone once provided by the Emperor himself. Jin didn't like the idea, but once more Ryath pushed. Look, kid, I promised your parents I'd take care of you if anything happened to them, and treat you like my own. And I have. And I still am. That's why I must insist you accept this opportunity! These opportunities will only be available for so long, but family is forever. Stay up there for a week or so and feel it out. Then you can come back and visit me and tell me all about. Plus I'm just a call away. I'll get your things packed up here so they can be delivered to you in your swanky new digs. But until I see you again Wild Child, I love you.
Love you too, Uncle, and you stay safe down there!
With a reassuring chuckle the old masked alien ended the call. Jin wiped away a few emotional tears as she collected herself once again. What a day. She turned and opened the office door to tell Fiora the news.

Fiora had taken a seat on the small row of 5 seats outside the Doctor's office and waited. The Doctor's office had been soundproofed, preventing Fiora from eavesdropping on purpose or by accident. Instead, she curled up on the seats and rested her head. Although she was used to operating on very little sleep due to her dreams waking her up at night, there was something different about the exhaustion she felt. The lack of sleep combined with the trauma was something else entirely. Given she was pretty sure the call was not going to be short, Fiora let herself drift off for a nap.
By the time the door opened, a nurse had stopped by and placed a blanket over Fiora and a pillow beneath her head. She yawned as she roused herself from her sleep, sensing that Jin's call was over. Her head tilting slightly so as to allow her to look up at her friend
Jin... Is everything ok?
She blushed a little, realizing she had napped deeply enough that a blanket and pillow had been snuck in without her noticing

Jin smiled at Fiora, glad to see the girl had gotten some rest in, the day had been long and was still just early afternoon. She sat down on the bench next to her now awake friend and looked over. Yeah, it's all good. Ryath was worried about us both. But he was very encouraging about me staying up here for a while, see how surface life suits me. Jin flashed a big smile at Fiora upon delivering the news, knowing it would cheer the princess up. Looks like I won't be 'visiting' you as much as moving in.

Fiora sat up and rested her head on Jin's shoulder, listening as her friend recounted the call. She did feel happy that Ryath had been worried about her, even though he barely knew her. However, her posture changed then, sitting up as Jin revealed she was going to be moving in. Her eyes brightened up and a smile spread across her face before she wrapped her arms around Jin. Hugging her friend tightly
YAY! That's awesome!
She pulled back from the hug then, trying to compose herself even as she still beamed
It's going to be great! I promise!

Jin let out a chuckle at the enthusiasm that Fiora showed. The more she thought about it, this would likely be even more beneficial for Fiora than herself. The Princess didn't seem to have many opportunities to be a kid and have an actual friend. Jin put an arm around Fiora and hugged her back. Well, I guess we'll need to tell your dad that I'll be staying. Then probably get some rest. It's been a looooong day.

She felt a sense of comfort and relief in that embrace with Jin, glad to be able to have her one real friend around. While they might have only known each other for a short time, Fiora did not want to lose Jin. She blushed at the thought of getting some rest, something she had done while waiting for Jin to have her call with Uncle Ryath
You need to get some rest first, then we can tell my father about you staying. You need to feel better...

Jin sighed with a bit of releaf mixed within the exhaustion. She felt like after their first encounter, perhaps a day before their next would be for the best. Alright then, Fi. Show me the way.

Her face seemed to light up as Jin asked to be shown the way. Fiora's hands grasped one of Jin's hands
Ok, ok... this way!
She tried not to get too excited, doing her best not to just be dragging Jin along through the hallways and corridors of the palace toward the residential areas where the Royal Family lived. Fiora gave the guards no time to stop and question them as she rushed into the Residential area and bee-lined straight for her bed chambers. It was a large room, with a desk and some furniture scattered around. But the centre piece of it all, was a large four post bed which took up about 1/3 of the space
Here, you can get some rest in my bed! It's only fair, since you gave me yours last night...
Fiora blushed a little bit again as she mentioned their sleeping arrangements the night before. She hadn't felt right taking Jin's bed, but Fiora had also lacked the energy to protest the matter

Jin climbed onto the large bed, it felt bigger than her whole bedroom. But she wasn't about to be too punk to sleep in the bed of a literal princess. She fell asleep almost the second she hit the mattress. Her dreams wondered to spin tales about how her life in the palace and with Fiora would be. The teen slept for a long time, letting her body and mind heal from the morning they had just had. There was no regret from Jin, she knew she had done the right thing, and was now going to get opportunities she had never dreamed of, all she had to do was swallow her pride and apologize to the tyrant that was Fiora's father.
After what felt like a week of sleep Jin sat up, slowly, and stretched her arms. The sky out the windows was dark, which was familiar, but the pin pricks of all the stars caught Jin's eyes. She just murmured "Wow..." She crossed over to the window to get a better look. "I've- Uh, I've never seen the night's sky."

Fiora watched as Jin hopped into the bed and almost instantly fell asleep, the exhaustion from the morning and night before seeming to over come her. She smiled, activating a control which caused the blinds to close the rest of the way over to block out the light as she crawled into the bed herself. Despite the bed's size, she curled up close to Jin and fell asleep hoping for some restful sleep at last. It was something which lasted a few hours, before dreams began to plague her once more. Visions of events past and present which had happened or were happening, those of the future which were yet to come to pass.
But the future was always branching off, being written each moment and changed by the choices made in the present. However, despite how many branches there were, they always seemed to branch back together at a single point. An event she could never see how it proceeded, only how it began. But just as soon as it happened, she awoke in the darkened room curled up against Jin. Her memory of her dream already fading as she woke up slightly panicked, but unsure about what she was panicked by.
She had gained a reprieve, but not a perhaps lasting or reliably one.
Fiora crawled out of the bed and moved over to the windows, the curtains pulling back as she sat down on a chair and gazed out at the city and night sky. Using the scenery to help calm herself. She barely registered Jin waking up until her friend was standing at the window gazing at all the stars and commented that she'd never seen them before. Fiora smiled and turned toward Jin
I guess you lived your entire life under the ground... There's so many of them out there. They're beautiful...

Yeah... Jin ruminated on her time in the slums some more before turning to look at Fiora. It would take some getting used to, but for her new friend, she was sure the change would be worth it. She smiled to her friend before turning back to face the stars. Maybe I'll even make it out to be among them.

Nothing changed about her gaze nor did anything resonate in the Force as Fiora admired Jin. There was something pure and magical about her friend seeing the stars for the first time. She smiled as she pulled her legs up into the chair and wrapped her arms around them
You'll make it among them... worlds beyond your imagination to visit... It'll be a fun adventure.

She kept her attention upon Jin, not letting her attention drift away even as her friend looked back out at the stars and asked what happened now. Fiora giggled a little bit
My Father is many things, but he is not fragile. I don't think an apology will be necessary. But I suppose we will need to let him know you wish to take up his offer to stay a little while...
after that though? Well... we can hang out and you can see what it's like here...
