Ashrah slowly climbed to his feet and stood beside Kaine, sucking in air. He watched the chaos around them with a grunt. He turned to the other man as he spoke.
"He shot me. I hate being shot."
It wasn't so much that he was getting old, he was just rusty. Having been in exile for so long he hadn't really had a chance to fight very often, and even his altered physiology needed the dreaded exercise. He kicked the corpse at his feet for good measure. He really dislike being shot

Kaine heard "I'm getting too old for this" and wanted to second the notion. Calok WarrThe explosions in the hangar had ruined any chance the first wave had had of escaping. A second wave appeared imminent, with the space battle beginning outside, the enemy had launched two more shuttles, these ones appearing heavier than the first three.Ashrah seemed to be shaking things off better than Kaine wished he was. "He shot me. I hate being shot." Kaine growled. At least yours had two arms. Four is bloody cheating. Kaine saw Lamia, the boss, arrive, along with two of his daughters in Beskar'gam. He had forgotten what Marit's looked like, she wore the light blue ensemble so infrequently. Not terribly Mando'ad to his tastes, but he couldn't fault anyone here today. They all looked as devastating as they had proven to be in combat. Sinistra was with them too, another he knew more by reputation and the high opinion of others than personally. He sent a respectful nod in their direction; Field Marshal and Alor he might be, but he was outranked by Lamia, and wished everyone to know it. They all had some getting to know each other to do, he wished to get to know all of them in time, Eshana Farr and Lynris Skirata had fought well.Kaine bowed to Lamia Bes'tial at the waist, stiffly, he was still in a fair bit of pain. He managed to come upright again without groaning, and stood to attention, respectfully. He wanted to show the troops that the Togruta Sith had his respect and support. That was an important point to make; he was the warlord, not the ruler. Lamia would have made an excellent Mand'alor, though Kaine would never have said so to her, for fear she might take it as an insult. He wouldn't mean it as an insult, he meant that she only made sensible suggestions others wanted to follow. For Kaine that was the only qualification for a leader. Any leader, guardian, or master should serve to emulate the same, in Kaine's eyes.Party was fine until these idiots tried to crash it. Reckon we could take their ship away as a downpayment? Kaine suggested, pointing out the hangar towards the cruiser that had launched the first and now a second assault.Everyone here was combat ready, except for the bartender and himself. Kaine wasn't going to miss out on the battle. His daughters had other ideas.Buir, you need a medic. Marit began. Amaranth came over to offer him a shoulder, which Kaine moved towards. I'm fine, ad'ika. Kaine began to lie. Amaranth moved so fast he didn't even see it coming, punching his wound without mercy. A gasp of pain escaped Kaine, who cursed his traitorous body for betraying his lie. Marit took his other shoulder more gently.Amaranth will fill in for you. The unpainted helmet of Amy Australis shared a nod with the light blue one of her sister, who now assisted the wounded and embarrassed Alor. Before them, two shuttles came in for a landing, ostensibly to land more ground troops. This time, the Rock was ready. As soon as the shuttles landed, their boarding ramps dropped. Before any of the assault troops could debark, the shuttles were blasted, repeatedly and mercilessly by blue blasts, electricity and discharge arcing across their hulls and through their insides. The trap had been sprung, and the ships and the droids aboard disabled en-masse by concealed Ion Cannons. Clan commandos and other militia were already emptying the disabled droids from the shuttles. Engineers moved in to reset the command consoles and get the shuttles spaceworthy once more.
Amy took the lead from her father, to represent Clan Australis. She had access to the planned operation, fed to her HUD by Marit from their father's command net. The helmets weren't just to look cool. Our rides await. Two shuttles can carry enough of us out to their cruiser. Assuming we don't get blasted before we get there, we clean them out, and take the ship for the Vegemite Enclave. It was a plan so brute force and simplistic, relying on swift and heedless assault ahead of complex planning and complicated tactical deployments; very Australis. Amy took offense at comparisons with her father only in that she had proven herself a better warrior than he many times already, and took it as an insult. She was younger, tougher, and faster than her old man, and no one knew him for his wits. She'd just have to prove herself to others as he had. The assault on the CU of NTS light cruiser would be a step in that direction. It was now a matter of who wanted to remain on The Rock with the injured Kaine and his daughter Marit, and who was going on the shuttles with Amaranth to board the enemy cruiser? Calok was now amongst Mando'ad; standing by Kaine and listening to the small exchanges. If there was company to be in during absolute chaos, it was the Mandalorians. Though he also knew well enough that he could quickly be crossed by them. The presence of Sith also making him uneasy. He hated force users. Everything about them made him want to vomit; that is unless they were paying him. Seems this eclectic group welcomed some Sith and killed the rest. If he wasn't already confused before; he was beyond trying to figure out where he was and how he got stuck in this mess.
He cracked his neck left and right, still working through the pain from a less than successful flight of his jetpack; his attention drawn to Amy who seemed to be enlisting everyone listening into a counter offensive. He had to interject at this point, removing his helmet to wipe the sweat off his face, and focusing on the woman talking.
"You guys have a strange way of welcoming people. That being said I have no idea who you are, or who these Chunks attacking you are, but I don't usuallg get involved in battles im not being paid for."
He guestured to his damaged ship before following up in a less than enthused tone.
"I got enough galactic trash following me so if I'm gonna help you, I need to know what's in this for me."
In a way he felt bad for trying to force conditions, but he also knew he was on borrowed time. The longer he waited, to get his ship in moving order, his attackers would find their way here. That was another fight he didn't have the energy for.

He guestured to his damaged ship before following up in a less than enthused tone. "I got enough galactic trash following me so if I'm gonna help you, I need to know what's in this for me." Amaranth heard Calok, and turned to him. Her tone wasn't unsympathetic; but at the same time, they had bigger problems just now.She ticked off on her fingers. We'll fix your ship free of charge, and even give you some creds for your work on this mission. She cocked her helmeted head at him. If that's not enough, then we don't need your help, ner vod.
Amy began moving, businesslike, towards the Boarding shuttles. Noting a weapon that was slipped into her belt, Kaine yelled an objection. That's mine! Amy turned. She'd stolen his beskar boomerang when she'd punched him earlier. I'll give it back. Kaine grumbled, and let Marit begin leading him away towards some type of medical care. Amaranth would board one of the shuttles, while the second was being filled with droid troops from Clan Australis's own battle automata.Calok Warr

Cuyan made his way easily through the decks, the only real warrior he met was the wookiee, the others were flies for swatting. His casually threaded his way toward the docks, beskad occasionally flashing to rip the life from someone fool enough to challenge a kad'alor, his heavy blaster throwing death hither and yon.
Is this all the CU of NTS has to offer? Pathetic.
He saw fewer and fewer foes, until he saw no more. Ahead in the docks he saw a gathering of warriors, armors he recognized. As it was clear the fighting was done for now, he holstered his blaster and removed his helmet, clipping it to his belt. He lit a long cigarra, and silently approached, taking a cloth and cleaning his saber, now clearly stained with the blood of a half dozen species, a halo of smoke surrounding his grey streaked hair and ruined eye. Speaking finally, he addressed the assembled crew, his voice betraying a hint of amusement, as he nodded at those assembled.
"I am getting too old for this"

Amaranth's words resonated well with Calok. If anything the offer was more generous. He nodded in agreement then put his helmet back on.
"Keep the credits, let's go steal a ship."
He looked around, locating his blaster on the ground near his ship. Casually dismissing himself from the small gathering to retrieve it, then followed not too far behind Amaranth to the shuttle

Lynris smiled as she had watched Eshana take care of the dar'jetii. Though the two women posessing sabers did not escape her vision and she stiffened. Kaine had given bow to them. If her helmet had not been on, a sharp look of confusion and distaste would have given away her thoughts. As long as they weren't currently their enemy, it wasn't any of her concern how or who Australis conducted business with even if she did not wholly approve.
Taking off her helmet, Lynris wiped the sweat and blood from her forehead and she let out a sigh. There was going to be a boarding party to capture the CU of NTS light cruiser.
"Heey, wait up!" Lynris said taking off after Amaranth, Calok, and the others who had began to board the shuttles. She slammed her helmet back on hastily. Once she caught up, Lyn rummaged around a pouch on her belt and applied a bacta patch to the blaster shot on her arm. It wasn't as bad she thought but still stung. If Eshana had gotten hold of her she doubted she would have let her join.
"I'm Lynris by the way. Clan Skirata." She said in a tone that gave away the smile beneath her helmet, addressing Amaranth, Calok, and anyone else within earshot. "What are we boarding anyways?"
"You know it'd be much easier just the blow the thing up." She continued on, pulling her blaster rifle out and making sure it was loaded as she talked. "Waste of a perfectly good ship though, I suppose."

Kaine and Marit headed for the medical centre, while Amy got aboard the shuttle with Calok Warr and Cuyan Skirata and Lynris Skirata and anyone else that was coming to board the enemy's cruiser.Amaranth Australis. We wanna steal this light cruiser, and trick it out Vegemite style. She said by way of introduction and explanation. They think they're boarding us, so they won't be expecting us to return the favour. And we just cleaned out a bunch of their goons. How many more could there be? Battle awaited just outside the station...

"Calok, Clan Warr.. though just me now so cant really call it a clan"
He responded to Lyn as she introduced herself, finally getting names to put with faces.
This Amaranth Mando'ad had spirit, whoever she was. Calok listened to the mission briefing while glancing over to the company he was in. He hadn't fought alongside other Mandalorians in years. A sense of nostalgia followed by a sudden look of confusion, though you wouldn't know through his helmet. Vegemite style? He'd never heard of it.....

"Calok, Clan Warr.. though just me now so cant really call it a clan" "Vegemite style?" Amy nodded. Explanation was warranted, though her battle tactics and strategy choices were part of Clan Australis' doctrine, the Vegemites did things a little more fast and loose, which was saying something to anyone who might be familiar with more traditional tactical and strategic planning and decision making.More speed, less plan. Feel free to express yourselves. That was what she was planning to do. She carried her throwing daggers, her stolen boomerang, several vibroblades, a light knife, and her blowgun and its packet of poisoned darts. She had coated this bunch with a lab-made fast acting neurotoxin that would immobilize a bantha within microseconds. Non-lethal and extremely painful, it was one of her favourites.Calok Warr

Lamia noticed Kaine's strained bow to her... she would address that nonsense later. No one had to bow to her on this ship. It was a save haven for the misfits. She pulled her blaster from her hip and started shooting so that his daughter to get him to safety.

::Medic. Get the bacta tank ready. We have an injured Mando. Move quickly. ::
"Maris!" Lamia shouted over the din of blaster fire. "Take him down the elevator to the first floor. My medic Wendy will meet you there. Bacta tank is being readied for your father. Go go go!"

Duraanir would groan, but firmly pushed the two off of him and he staggered over to his weapon. He would pull the blade from the corpse and began to lightly hobble out of the bar. There was still far too much work to do for him to sit around. He wasn't going to make the others wait for him to start their boarding action, instead heading for the hangers.First squad, grab your boarding kits from the Kara'yaim and meet me in the hanger. We will board separate of the main group and try to split what ever forces they have left on their ship. Flash bangs and array guns, I don't want to damage the ship more then we need too.Duraanir and his squad would all meet at the shuttle that landed closest to their ship, a few crates of supplies having been moved restocking. Mandalorians swapping out pieces of their kit for ones better suited to boarding actions. A few more men had shields not unlike Duraanir, armed with ACP array guns. Others readied blaster carbines and flash bangs. All of them had mounted a housing on the outsides of their bracers that held retracting vibroblades. They were all quiet as they readied to take the fight to the CU of NTS, almost as if they used this time as a sort of meditation. A man dressed in an armored flight suit approached from the Kara'yaim. He didn't seem to be Mandalorian, but they greeted him as one all the same. The group of eleven would make one last check of their gear and the shuttle that their enemy had been so gracious to leave for them, before piling inside and preparing for take off. Anyone keyed into Duraanir's main channel would be privy to his pre-assault ritual

Anyone keyed into Duraanir's main channel would be privy to his pre-assault ritual Cuyan stood silently to the side, having sheathed cleaned and sheathed Runi, puffing his cigarra peacefully. He watched as Duraanir capably commanded and prepared his men, and behind the cigarra he smiled to himself. He was proud of him, he was an honorable warrior and had the respect of the his men. In his son, he recognized many of the qualities his father had possessed, a magnetism that Cuyan himself had always lacked. He had become a fine young man. He moved more into the light, revealing his face in a haze of smoke, he moved with the feline grace of a swordsman, his arm resting on the hilt of the newly won ryyk blade he wore beside his beskad, his helmet clipped to his belt.
"I will go. I have already warmed up, might as well truly exercise." He turned to his son and nodded with a pleased smile in greeting. "Su'cuy Dur'ika."

Duraanir would set his shield down, taking a moment to lean back against one of the crates in this part of the hanger. The blast of lightning he had taken left him sore. He would pull his helmet off, clipping it to his belt, before opening a beskar encased compartment on the other side. He was fishing out a bag of tobacco and a pipe when his father approached.
Buir. Didn't catch you with your pants down, did they? Duraanir worked the pipe free, his grandfathers, and used it to gesture to the new ryyk blade. "New toy?"

Marit was perfectly capable of aiding her idiot father, and her sister was far better suited to frontline combat than the aged Alor. He had no business taking on boarding parties by himself, and she knew he knew that. Why he had chosen to was anyone's guess. Boredom combined with alcohol was Marit's guess.

Sinistra limped into the bar, her saber hilt off and loosely held in her fingers. She looked a mess, and she sank into a chair while someone who looked like they were a medic came over to assess her for injury. She was in a rather sour mood, as she draped her free arm over her eyes, annoyed at the interruption of her morning. The medic decided to take pity on her and give her fluids as she started to look ashen faced.
Her last opponent had been waving a red saber around in a rather showy manner and she had invited him to dance. She hadn't expected him to be well trained, and while he had some fancy footwork, he was simply a less experienced swordsman who left him vulnerable to a parry. His mistakes cost him his life. She collected his hilt and tucked it in the strangely deep pocket of her lounge pants.
She half considered joining the raiding party but at the moment, she was in less than optimal shape. She could sit this one out unless they needed back up but the denizens of the Rock seemed to be fired up over the intrusion and raring to pay them a visit in return. Let them have it. She needed to catch her breath and recover from one disaster at a time.

She found the box in the hidden corner and reached in to produce her favorite bottle of whisky, and with the other hand, grabbed two glasses. She put one in front of her friend and one in front of her and poured generous amounts in each.
"What in the fecking feck? Seriously? I'm too old for this. And so soon after buring Leto. No respect from the CU of the NTs." Lamia emptied her glass and filled it again.
"How's that hangover... I imagine gone after all that, eh?"

"I feel like someone hit me with a tank and then backed up and did it again. I need to sleep this off for a week."
She dropped her arm off her face, winced at the lights set up for triage, and pulled the glass towards herself for a drink. She sniffed the contents and nodded approvingly before she took a sip.
"So who are these guys and why are they attacking wherever the kriff we are?"
This had been her only question all morning and she was really just getting tired of not getting an answer.

"Sinistra, I have no fecking clue. It's a good question. Seriously, we are just doing our thing, growing our cukes. No need to jump all over our backs. And... what the kriff is with all the bucketheads all of sudden coming to our defense? Do you feel like we are in some weird alternate reality here?"
Lamia filled their glasses again, and pulled out a spice stick and lit it. She took a long drag and passed it to Sin. She exhaled making smoke rings that floated toward the ceiling and faded.
"Do you think they want in on our cash crop? I didn't really think cukes were a hot commodity, but maybe? We are making way more money than we thought we would. Who knew that Carnifex would come up with something like that eh?"
