Submissions:
To submit a Heavy Starfighter to the Database, you will start by creating a thread. Please follow this template, as a uniform process makes things easier to analyze, and easier for others to adopt for their fleets. Submissions that do not follow will be asked to reformat. As we are currently accepting submissions for Canon and Custom ships, please follow this naming guide for threads:
[Canon] <Cannon Name as stated on Wookie>
[Custom] <Name your ship will be known as>
This will help us distinguish Canon entries from Custom entries for management.
With your thread made, please follow the appropriate template below and fill out as many details as you can:
CANON
N.B: For CANON ships, Please embed a link to the Wookieepedia article in the ship name title as shown.
CUSTOM
*If images are too big (as in you cannot see the text below it), adjust the "max-width:100%;" text accordingly in the Code area of the posting (we recommend 60%-70%). It is automatically set at 100% which will ensure large images remain large.
Everything is pretty self explanatory, and we have a couple items for you to reference, the first is the MAD Point System Guide (found below) and the second is a completed entry for the T-65 X-wing Starfighter. You can also browse the Ship Index for Heavy Starfighters. These will help with how to determine the (A)(D)(O)(S) stat numbers and what to put in the various headers. As a note, Ships have a 15 point limit (except for a handful of Canon ships which are permitted to exceed this number).
MAD Point System Guide:
Category Levels:
Very Low (1)
Low (2)
Average (3)
High (4)
Very High (5)
Category Types
Agility (A)
Defensive (D)
Offensive (O)
Speed (S)
Special Gear: Most gear is one point, some special examples may be deemed as two points (such as cloaking*)
The MAD Stats are based on a system of averages. We take what is considered to be the average ship of that class, for both Light and Heavy Starfighter's we use the T-65 X-wing Starfighter as the baseline for the class. This is because it is an iconic vessel by which we can measure a craft's Agility (how fast it turns and can manoeuvrer), Defense (whether a ship has a shield or not, what it's hull strength is like), Offense (how much damage a ship can deal overall), Speed (how fast the ship can go), and Special Gear (gear that this ship has that is not standard. For example, most ships have Hyperdrives, so they are not special gear. But not all ships have Astromechs or Stealth systems)
A straight forward and easy way to explain this, is that you have 15 total assignable points of power for your ship. From that pool, you assign points of power to each system (your A, D, O, S, Gear stats). The more points you assign to a system, the stronger it is. 3 points means that the system is of average strength for that stat. The more points you put in above that, the stronger the system is, the fewer points you have below that, the weaker it is. You do not have to use all 15 points, some submissions exist that do not use all 15 of these points.
N.B: For stat ratings 1-4, they cost 1 point her level (e.g: An offense of 4 is worth 4 points. An offense of 3 is worth 3 points, etc). A rating of 5 is equal to 6 points. This is to limit the extreme upper levels of performance to reflect the cost in reaching those levels with a design.

Process:
Submissions into the database come in many forms. They can be fully formed entries, partially completed entries, or entries that still need a lot of work. Regardless, every entry into the Database - Canon or Custom - is a discussion to be had by the submitter and anyone who wishes to participate. The Databank Operators will be participating in discussions, but we are not the sole source of knowledge and input into this. The Database is meant to be a community run effort. We’ll moderate discussions if they are getting out of hand or if we have something to add. But we encourage everyone to lend their expertise and knowledge.
Approvals:
Once the discussion has been had, there will come a moment when the submission is ready for final review. The submitter will approach the DO and ask for them to conduct a final review. This will consist of 2 Databank Operators reviewing the entry, making sure the math adds up, and checking the entry for fairness. They will each independently provide their own approvals. The first stating their approval, and the second giving the final Approval and moving the thread into the Database proper. The final step will be its inclusion into the Reference List for quick reference.
Re-Submitting:
Once a submission is complete, that does not mean it cannot be re-submitted. Re-submission can come from an alternation to the Wookieepedia article (ex: new Starhawk info), if the submitter feels that their article wasn't as correct as they thought it was, or later submissions causes a return to a previous one that inspired or is relatively close to another. Any of these can cause a change or changes.
If so, the process is as follows: the submitter should post in the Re-submissions and Review area. In there, the post should state the submission's name (i.e. ISD I) and what changes they want to make or they feel should be made. If they prove significant (such as length adjustment), the submission will be moved out and be re-submitted as a result. If this happens, the submitter must state the changes and why, once more, on the thread to begin the discussion on these alternations. If the changes are insignificant (such as adjusting a stats number vs changing the weaponry entirely), the DO can simply discuss the stat change. If the stat change is approved, the change is done. In both cases, the Index will be updated accordingly.
