The Mandalorian designed stealth corvette nicknamed the Spear was designed around stealth. The sublight drive and hyperdrive draw their power from twin reactors, which allow for a dangerous but useful direct injection, allowing the vessel to easily shunt power from engines to shields to weapons where needed, making it extremely versatile.
A carrier first and foremost, the ship's superstructure is build around the hangar, and the engines, with every other consideration deemed secondary in this unique design. The Spear combines speed, maneuverability, defence and efficiency, allowing for fast transport between worlds, with the ability to choose between standing and fighting or retreating when the situation calls. It can run and hide or stand and fight as easily, with the striking power of its single squadron for defence, or attack.
All weapons are housed in recessed emplacements which can be masked or unmasked at need, allowing the sleek vessel to pass as an unarmed, though sexy as hell looking transport. Likewise, the main hangar is concealed in the ventral surface, and when opened, is shielded by the open hangar doors, which can act as visual concealment for any craft that wish to cloak upon launching; though the Spear herself must decloak to unmask weapons or the main hangar.
Built to the exacting design specifications of MandalArms R&D, this most secret of projects was designed and produced entirely in-house, with the schematics kept on location at MandalArms HQ once approved for final construction by the Alor. A worthy war vessel for the Mandalorian fleet, the Spear can act as a stealthy and speedy transport, or the speartip of a war action; a most versatile vessel, for an uncivilized age.

So the points are for a stealth cloaking system AND stealth painting?

So the points are for a stealth cloaking system AND stealth painting? Yes, it would have stealth systems in place to make it difficult to detect on sensors when decloaked.

Standash Thul I'm trying to balance this between size and power. I went with no shields as a compromise to having the extra stealth systems.

I see that, but the idea of something that is invisible becoming more invisible. It's already super cloaked.

Standash Thul Balance wise, the intent in RP is that it be stealthy when uncloaked at long range. At closer range, uncloaked, it wouldn't be stealthed.

I don't know that I can approve the double cloaking stuff.

Standash Thul On a larger ship I can understand. This one is pretty weak defensively too. Is it a rule that double cloaks arent allowed? I ask because ive run into this before and am looking for a guideline.

Im happy to remove it if that is the ruling. As an alternative I would prefer to keep the stealth and cloak and find another flaw to add, if thats possible.

14 is still a rather packed and balanced ship.

Standash Thul On a larger ship I can understand. This one is pretty weak defensively too. Is it a rule that double cloaks arent allowed? I ask because ive run into this before and am looking for a guideline. The way Stealth Systems were envisioned, and I imagine Mike Frantz can further elaborate on this or correct me since he was one of the three people that originated this system, was that you'd have stealth fittings which were worth 1 point (such as reflec coating or other such technology designed to provide a sensor cloak but still have something of a weakness to line of sight) since they provided something of an advantage until you were pretty close in, and cloaks were worth 2 points (things such as a stygium cloak) because they provided a pretty heavy advantage that you couldn't be seen visually or on sensors. At the end of the day, the database is about introducing ships that are relatively fair and balanced. Stealth systems are kind of a rare technology that provide a massive advantage and were not particularly widely used in Canon, despite the fact Disney has a habit of throwing sensor cloaks on every other ship they make... So with that in mind, and keeping in mind I'm not a current Databank Operator just a writer providing an opinion, the best guideline is "choose between a sensor cloak system or a full cloak system".

In truth we hadn't really put any specific thought into the possibility of using both types of stealth on a ship. While it is semi-balanced by the amount of points that have to go into using both, it is a potential problem. I'm going to put this entry on hold temporarily while the rest of the DO and I discuss how we want to handle this situation and any like it in the future.
Aside from that you need a point for hangar space if you want a complement of 12.

We will get back to you ASAP, Kaine.
You don’t need the point for the hangar though. Ruling is if it exceeds 12.

Looking over this carefully, everything does seem to be in order. I will speak with my DOs about its approval.
