Husk Destroyer
Ship Class: Star Destroyer
Ship Role: Corrupted boarding vessel
Ship Length: 1,600 meters
Agility (A): 2
Defensive (D): 4
Offensive (O): 3
Speed (S): 3
Special Gear: 3 (Boarding Equipment, Reinforced Prow, Troop Space)
Description:
With the continiuous experiments of the Quarren Dominion with Sith Alchemy and the creation of their new "deities", breakthroughs were made on Abraxin when combining DNA of the Corruption with existing breeds of apocalyptic creatures. The life forms, that were created in the process could be converted into a semi-intelligent form of techno beast, that was capable at not only corrupting a mechanical vessel, but as well to controll it, making it thus easier for the Sorcerers to manage tasks that would usually require a bigger skeleton crew.
In order to test out these lifeforms, ship patrols of forlorn Imperial renegades and other pirates were taken over by Dominion forces, planting the seeds of these so-called Infestors immidiately.
Husk Destroyers are an amalgam between mechanical and biological horror, combining a forsaken ship debris with a bio-intelligent organism, that merges with the ship's hull. While the common husk ship of this size would be an Imperial II-Class Star Destroyer, other ships within the same size category can be turned into Husk Destroyers, thus making each ship stand out individually.
For unaware naval crews the sight of a Husk ship could first look like an alien-infested debris, yet the ship's main systems are still intact and maintained by the Infestor creature. While most weapon systems tend to fail due to the corruption of the vessel, husk ships of this size usually feature around 30 heavy turbolaser batteries, 20 heavy turbolaser cannons, 12 heavy ion cannons and 2 functioning tractor beam projectors, thus maintaining still a somewhat functionable armament that a skeleton crew of 750 crew members could easily manage. Additionally the biological extensions of the husk can furthermore turn the front of a ship into a more reinforced ramming prow, making them ideal to break into enemy ship hulls or to carve open the hull of larger ships for boarding crews.
Due to it's unused space, a husk ship can easily maintain space for roughly 10,000 men, similiar to a regular ISD crew. Although the Quarren Dominion possesses already specialized transport ships for infantry and vehicles, these menacing carriers have potential to fill the roles of suicidal boarding ships, that either destroy an enemy vessel by sheer impact strength or annex it by the means of sheer, brutal man power. Additionally to it's troop space, the hangars of a husk ship can feature up to 72 star fighters.
