Harcey KeepCastle of the Duchy of Harcey (aka Harcey Palatinate, Kingwood Fiefdom) Occupant: Lucien Malvern, High Lord of the Ossus Jedi Ossus had grown on Lucien Malvern the more the Duke spent time here. There was a history here, one rich with the Jedi Order. The natives, though abrasive and uncooperative at times, still showed respect. Some tribes weren't as cooperative, but plenty welcomed the boons that the Jedi Lords brought to them. Boons such as security, prosperity, and a new future. Though the planet was barren, there were still some lands that could be cultivated and were as green as what had been seen on Serenno. Slowly, and surely, Lucien seemed to become less a Lord of Fiyarro and more into a Protector of Ossus. In fact, he was even seen more and more at the revived Jedi Academy, greeting younglings and dispensing his knowledge to them. Serenno colonists arrived daily to help rebuild the land and bring about a new Ossus.
With this connection growing stronger, the Duke found a nice plot of fertile land near the Imhar Canyon, which ensured he was within reach of the Jedi Praxeum. With the approval of the Ysanna, and the aid of those who were his subjects, a castle was built upon the land with several villages plotted and established. It became one of many new fiefdoms, taking the honored name of 'Dukedom of Harcey' after Lucien's great-grandfather, a notable Jedi warrior of House Malvern. However, the people called it the 'Kingwood Dukedom' after an abundance of a native tree on Ossus within the area called Kingwood.
Stone walls were built up and augmented with modern security measures and gun emplacements. Yet, these were kept concealed in order to not disturb the beauty of the stone complex. A handful of a hundred knights were settled upon the land to establish military houses so that they may serve the Duke directly as vassals and officials. Even a number of allied Ysanna were invited to join in a new class of middle tiered nobility, a way to bridge the cultural gaps between the Jedi Lords and the Ossan natives. Here, Lucien hoped to make a... new future for himself, among the barren beauty and rich history of Ossus. |

The last few years had been chaotic and filled with a great number of adventures. They were memories and decisions that would haunt him for years to come. What he had done was sure to have rippling after effects far into the future, which was why he had come here. Thanks to those who aided his escape from the Diarchy's clutches, he had been able to interpret the visions he had that were now drawing him here.
He knew very little about this world called Ossus or the Jedi Lords that resided here now. But the Force had brought him here for a reason. At the very least he could meet with them and find out what they were about. From there he could better determine his plan of action.
After landing The Raven in Knossa, a transport ship had greeted Valon and now transported him out to Harcey Keep. Several minutes passed in silence before they finally arrived to the small landing pad attached to the Keep. Valon disembarked the ship and headed toward what ever greeting party was awaiting his arrival

A party did come out to the landing pad, one composed of a few guards, dressed in fine uniforms, along with two Jedi. One of them was a Kel Dor, with ornate gauntlets upon his wrists and dressed in a navy blue robe. The other seemed older, but had a uniform that was less than that of his colleague. The Kel Dor was one of the High Lord's most trusted lieutenants, a male by name of Yar Sho. His family, for three generations now, had served the Malverns as champions and advisors. Yar Sho had the honor of commanding the elite guard unit of the armed forces that served House Malvern directly.
Yar Sho approached the one who had been brought to Knossa. The guards there didn't know what Valon was, only that he sought the destination of his journey, laid out by the Force. The Jedi Lords, after a quick inspection, put him on a transport, bound for Harcey Keep. It was a supply transport for the garrison and court officials, so it wasn't going out of its way for one individual. So here he was, before the estate of the High Lord himself.
Yar Sho approached Valon, utilizing the Force to sense he was not... natural. There was something artificial that he couldn't put his thumb on.
=Yar Sho=
Strange one, aren't you.
The deep voice of the Kel Dor spoke.
=Yar Sho=
I have heard that you come to Ossus cause the Force told you. Guided you. But before we go inside, I must ask what you are.

Valon came to a stop a few feet from the pair of individuals that stood out from the uniformly dressed guards. He was still learning about this Galaxy and his own place within it. As such, there was still much about it he did not know, such as the species to which the two standing before him belonged to. He made a mental note to look into it later, so he could be better prepared for any future encounters he would have with them.
He felt a small prickle within the Force as one of the pair seemed to inspect him, for lack of a better word. He kept a friendly smile about him then as Yar addressed him
As are you, stranger. I've not met one of your kind before... To answer your query though, yes the Force did guide me here. To what end, I have not yet intuited. As to what I am? Even I am not completely sure. My people would call me Lightforged...
He moved his left hand up and gripped the robe and edge of his shirt, pulling it down enough to better reveal the light infused metal that contoured to his shoulder

A chuckle emits from beneath the protective mask upon his face. The humanoid seems to have found this Lightforged as strange as the individual found him to be. This relatively confirmed that the creature was either from outside this galaxy or something artificial if he had never seen a Kel Dor before.

My species is called Kel Dor, native to the planet of Dorin in the Expansion Region.
The male gestures to those present where Valon would find two Humans, a Duros, and a Rodian present.
=Yar Sho=
You will find that the court of any Jedi Lord is a coat of many colors. From the native Ysanna to the far reached Mon Calamari, the ecologically focused Ithorians, and horned Devaronians and Zabraks. You may even be overwhelmed with how many you may meet if you not met a Kel Dorian before.
Yar Sho smiles... well, at least beneath his mask. Calmly, he motions forward, allowing Valon to leave the landing pad and join them as they returned towards the interior of Harcey Keep. Already, activity was pretty normal with crews all over the place, starfighters and spacecraft of smaller size dotting here and there. The Jedi walks with Valon towards the Keep.

My master will find you quite interesting. For no one here has ever known a Lightforged such as yourself.

He nodded, committing the man's species and home world to memory for later research. He also examined the others and took note of the other races that the Kel Dor mentioned
Yes, it is a little overwhelming, but I am learning to manage...
When motioned to do so, he followed along as the grouped headed inside of the Keep. His gaze drifted from side to side, not that his golden eyes betrayed exactly where his line of sight was looking toward
Yes, I don't imagine he would... My people were... I believe the word you use is primitive? We gazed upon the stars, but could not reach them ourselves. Not until death anyway...

The Kel Dor contemplates for a moment as his hand rests upon his chin.
=Yar Sho=
Primitive sounds too... derogatory, visitor. Perhaps primeval is better suited. It sounds better, wouldn't you agree?
The Kel Dorian suggests with an smile that wasn't visible beneath his mask. The party heads up to a checkpoint where they are waved through and, from there, Valon is brought into Harcey Keep, the fortified estate of the High Lord. True to the word of the Commander of the Raven Guard, the Lightforged would find all kinds of beings within these halls. The first of which was furry mammalian known as a Bothan, who served as a steward to Lord Malvern. Twi'leks, Ithorians, Bothans, Humans, Arkanians, Duros, Rodians, Wookiees... so many graced these halls, all serving a purpose as servants, officials of the court, bodyguards, and visitors. The High Lord's estate, since being built, had become rather active with the presence of all kinds of beings.
Yar Sho brings Valon down a few hallways, coming to walk alongside a small line of petitioners. He approaches a guard who was about to let another in. The Kel Dorian motions Valon forward with one of the other Bannerets that was with them. His attention then turns to the guard.
=Yar Sho=
Have the remainder of the petitioners go to Baron Utri at his office.
The guard nods and begins to redirect the remaining visitors. As this was done, Yar Sho looks at Valon.

While he was fairly proficient at speaking and understanding Galactic Basic, much of his understanding of the language wasn't learned so much as it was imparted upon him. Thus any societal context was lost upon him
I will take your word on it...
It was quite the shock, seeing the gathering of so many different races all gathered within the Keep. His time spent as a captive within the Diarchy had seen him interact primarily with Humans and a handful of humanoid races. He was a little taken aback by how different it was here, and how many different people he would need to look into, to expand his knowledge. He was bound to interact with many and more species on a regular basis, knowing who and what they were would be helpful.
As they at last arrived to a set of doors that a long line of people were queued for, he came to a stop and turned toward the Kel Dor male
None that I will not be able to learn from your Master...

A guard opened the door for Yar Sho and the castle's guest, allowing them to enter the hall where the High Lord performed his more secular duties to Ossus. It almost seemed like something out of a medieval tale with layout. There was a slightly elevated area on the far end where a fine chair rested. Here, Lucien Malvern would conduct business, such as petitions and matters of justice and law, to those who ventured to speak with him personally. However, the chair itself was vacant. A little off to the left of the room, by one of the six windows that allowed natural light in, stood three persons.
The dark-haired male, of middle age, given his attire, was likely the High Lord himself. Though they were nobles, they did not flaunt wealth as they were Jedi first and foremost. As such, Lucien wore attire that reflected the Jedi appearance foremost but colors that may indicate livery and heraldry. The two other figures seemed to be officials of his court who were talking about something. The planet Ossus, itself, was on a holoimage device, held by one of the people. Malvern glanced to the left, noticing Yar Sho and their guest. He raises his hand to the persons he was speaking with, excusing himself.
The High Lord then departed the company of the pair and walked over to Yar Sho. Once more, a strange humanoid was brought to his attention. First, it was the Stenax, Mahir, who crash landed outside of Fiyarro some years ago. Now this one. First, his attention turned to the commander of his Raven Guard who gestured to Valon.
=Yar Sho=
Lord Malvern, this is Valon. He is a visitor of our world who followed the callings of the Force to our sect. His people are called Lightforged.
Lucien nods his head slightly to the Kel Dor before addressing the visitor directly.
And what did the Force say about coming to Ossus, Valon? What is your destiny in coming here?

Valon followed Yar Sho through the door, his attention shifting around to take in as many details as he could manage. He had seen similar such rooms upon his own homeworld when visiting various tribal chiefs. It would seem the Jedi Lords still attached similar importance to these kinds of spaces. They did make a sort of sense, since they allowed someone to address crowds or gather many people together in one place to hear matters of importance.
His attention was soon drawn to the group of people in one corner of the room, one of whom broke away from the rest as Valon and Yar Sho approached. He waited patiently as Yar Cho made the introductions, before Lord Malvern addressed him. Valon gave a nod of his head out of respect in greeting

I'm afraid, Lord Malvern, that the Force did not give me overly specific instructions... I was guided here by a vision the Force gave me of this world and your people. A vision I received close to the end of my imprisonment by an Inquisitor. Given the timing, I can only hope it has guided me to a place I can call home. I know only, though, that you are called the Jedi Lords, and little more beyond that. And I am not want to try pledge myself to a cause I know so little about. Just as I am sure you no doubt would not be willing to accept someone you also have so little knowledge of, I suspect? |

Valon filed away the name Stenax and their physical description as Lucien related the story of one such creature that had visited and joined the Jedi Lord's once before. It had initially seemed like an odd thing to bring up, but Lucien's mention of how he had trusted the Stenax in a similar situation to Valon, the relevance became clear. It was certainly odd to meet someone as trusting as Lucien. His experience with those outside of his own race had not been particularly encouraging in terms of trusting anyone and everyone. He was certainly hesitant to jump right in with the Jedi Lord's, but a compromise would certainly help ease the tension he felt
Your trust is very freely given Lord Malvern. I wish I could accept it with as much ease, but... Past events have taught me to be wary of outsiders. Perhaps it might be best for me to spend some time amongst your Order, get to know them and see them in action, before I commit myself?

Nor should he take matters at face value. After all the Light might have led him hear not to join with the Jedi Lords as a Warrior of Light, but to uncover some darkness lurking in the shadows of this outward image. If that were the case, he would see evidence of such while spending some time here
I appreciate your generosity Lord Malvern. In terms of transportation, I think I can manage that much on my own. I may just require access to a local map. If there is perhaps anyone or anywhere you think I should visit, I would appreciate such suggestions. Otherwise, I will take my leave...

Growing Stronger flew in for a landing at the primary residence of High Lord Malvern. Abi was aboard accompanied by a couple of her house guards and aids. She had been working to help establish the Jedi Lords foothold with those that joined her from Annandale. Primarily she had been working to reform infrastructure and making sure the distribution of resources was properly allocated. However, when the High Lord had requested a meeting, she made the time. Having not seen the High Lord in some time, she was excited, he was an old friend after all. The ramp lowered and Abi descended in one of her many flattering floral dresses. She and the attendant that accompanied her waited at the landing pad to be greeted by Lord Malvern or one of his own attendants.

The Countess smiled warmly at the High Lord. After a brief curtsy she met his embrace. They had both been busy since the transition and had had little time to meet. She was glad to see him doing so well. Thank you, my lord, but do not worry about us. My people are hardy and willing to make the needed changes. And the move is easier knowing that Alesha is staying to look over my families holdings on Serernno. Her grandmother, being on in years, had decided that she would spend her remaining years on her home planet and so opted to stay behind when the Jedi Lords relocated their primary base of operations. And besides, a Bruce always keeps their Oath. I will never be able to repay you for assisting me in reclaiming my home. I will always be at your service, High Lord.

The High Lord ponders for a moment before turning to Yar Sho.Make sure Valon has what he needs.There was likely plenty to go over with Valon in terms of what he needed, so it would be best to pass on the duty to those who could easily approve what was necessary. After all, Lord Malvern had to still get through petitions and other duties as both the Master of the Ossus Jedi and High Lord of Ossus itself.I would give a word of recommendation, Valon. On this planet is an ancient facility that has great tomes of knowledge and nearly endless venues to learn. The Great Jedi Library exists on this planet and it has been rebuilt over many generations of Jedi who have called this planet their home.Lucien points towards the Southern Sky, in the general direction of the Library.A good place to learn. Otherwise, you are welcomed to join in sparring matches and training exercises with my retainers and knights. You are welcomed to observe classes at the Jedi Praxeum and to wander through my home and the capital of Knossa. I hope that you will find your place with us. And, if not, we will do what we can to prepare you for the next leg of your journey through the stars. I appreciate the recommendations Lord Malvern. The Great Jedi Library sounds like a good place to start, from there it sounds as if I have plenty to do... Until next we meet... Abigail smiled as Malvern waved off the thought of debts being owed one way or another. But all the same she owed the Jedi Lords a great deal. She had been able to reclaim her birthright and bring her families murderers. But now they were on a forign planet, one steeped in Jedi history and heritage. It was an honor to be here and helping in any way she could, and so when the High Lord offered taking up more responsibility, Abi perked up and nodded.
My lord, it would be an honor to further aid our efforts on the planet. What did you have in mind?
