Description:
Members of the First Order's navy sought a new, more modern Interceptor variant for their ace pilots that was more economical to construct and deploy in greater numbers than the TIE/wi Modified Interceptor currently allowed. As such, they started off with the Modified Interceptor's schematics and began "excessive system shedding". What this meant, was stripping out the stealth systems and the wing bracket mounted laser cannons. They also dialled back the energy output of the shield generator. While this left the Howler as slightly less sturdy, the designers figured it was an acceptable draw back considering how lightning fast and agile it would be. For weapon systems, the Howler featured 4 wing tip mounted Laser Cannons, a pair of cockpit mounted Ion Blasters, and a Heavy Weapons Turret (which could be loaded with a Mag Pulse Warhead, or a Heavy Torpedo).
