Her head spun. Or that would have been the conclusion she'd have made if she hadn't been floating in the perpetual free fall of space. There was a distinct throbbing in her temple, a blur of motion in front of her, but she could barely discern whether or not it was her head or the entirety of the ship spinning around her. The thought proposing the only natural solution: Make any and every attempt to center herself against whatever it was that was hurtling her towards an inevitable loss of consciousness.
After what felt like minutes, the absence of gravity making it virtually impossible for her to collect any bearing with which to levy herself against, she reached the interior wall. She couldn't remember which part of the ship she'd been in, nor why she'd been there, but she had not forgotten the distinct sound of alarms blaring moments before she blacked out. A black out that was met with the rude awakening she found herself facing. One she faced with the resolve to move to the second step her father taught her to quell a complex situation: To find one's bearings by surveying the happenings outside the ship and which stars to allocate as a point of reference.
It was a simple task, but one she had always found excruciatingly challenging. Where was her pilot or navigation specialist when she needed them? When the thought brought a mild throbbing to her temple, once again seating itself there until she focused, she opted to find the nearest view-port and survey her surroundings herself. She resolved to find the rest of her crew once she had safely ascertained whether or not they had reached their destination, or if they had become stranded in space they would likely not survive.
She was all too familiar with how dangerous the space around the Tatooine System could be; particularly considering just how close by the Geonosis system was, among others.
Gripping the console she'd balanced herself against, the lack of motion in her float indicative of a semblance of balance, the color drained from her face and one predicament was met with another. One she had neither anticipated nor prepared for in all the years she'd spent perfecting her various skills of her trade.
Where was it? Why wasn't it there? The more she pondered such questions the more difficult and elusive the answer became.
The planet was gone, it's system non-existent.
A grounding factor, in her own sanity on the matter, was that everything else that should have belonged was in place. The stars were arranged, the planets were orbiting their respective suns but the planet she had last noted to visit was gone. As though it never existed and as if there was some chance it had been blown to pieces while she'd been away. A significant lack of debris in the empty space, seemingly uncharted, told her that the planet indeed did not exist.
Pushing herself away from the window, planting her feet firmly and shoving off, she gradually brought herself through the corridors of the ship until she'd reached lift. Faced with another difficulty in form of the power of the entire ship falling on reserves she quickly pried open the shaft and began to ascend towards the navigation level. If anyone would have answers for her that couldn't be found simply by floating in an engineering room, it was just where they were and why something as simple as a planet and it's entire system could have vanished in the blink of an eye.
Little was she truly aware that some mysteries were best left unsolved.
